I've not had any time off work but I probably should have tbh. I've spent a lot of the last few weeks in the loo at work and I really think half the staff think I've gone completely lazy over the last couple of months. I work with food which had been horrible Envy Because I only work term time I've kind of great that I just need to push through until the summer holidays Hmm Only 3 shifts to go thank goodness.

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/06/2015 21:00

12 weeks tomorrow missmartin! Hoping I won't need any more time off sick I just hope these headaches stop soon. Glad to hear others have the sour taste my mum reckons it's a classic symptom Confused but it's awful bleurgh!

Pugmumlondon · 21/06/2015 21:08

Thanks baby that's v helpful.

On a different note - following my angst about loss of symptoms cue dry heaving in the car just before Father's Day dinner with the dam. Back to nausea sitting in my tummy. I should have embraced the short break!!

horseylady · 21/06/2015 21:25

Hello scan went well. Will be having a section some time in dec.

Need to get my head round it all!!!

mrschatty · 21/06/2015 21:27

I've had 3 days off sick- 11w tomorrow in lime with lmp. My manager has been so brilliant!!
flood enjoy your holiday!! We fly out a week tomorrow cannot wait luckily it's 3pm in the afternoon so I have some time to gather myself and only to France but luckily ill be 14 w when I return to work so FX nausea etc will have gone! Also get to see my bean when I get back too!

Wynsey · 21/06/2015 21:38

My day has consisted of eating Nutella and watching Netflix!! Absolutely brilliant!!

This forum is amazing!! It's just so nice to hear that everyone has the same worrying thoughts. The 12 week scan is going to be emotional & scary!!! Just trying to remain so positive and I cannot wait until DC starts moving about and I can feel him/her! Also - so I can just wear what I want without thinking everyone can see the massive bump I have already!! 8+3. Another week at work where I wear leggings and baggy tops!! Confused

BeeMyBaby · 21/06/2015 21:40

I've had a half day off work with the UTI which I presume was due to being pregnant, and made worse by the thought at the time that I could be having an mc, normally I would have probably just shaken it off and carried on (I have been off sick for about 4 days in the last 6 years, and had no sick days in either of my previous pregnancies) - luckily I have a fairly stress free job.

Oysterbabe · 21/06/2015 21:47

No time off and I'm already showing too at 8+0. Can't believe I've got to keep the secret for another month!

Pugmumlondon · 21/06/2015 21:49

No days of sick for me. I've only been there 6 weeks and have a very full on job. Id rather be in and feeling like shit then have to deal with the disasters the next day tbh. However! That doesn't mean I'm secretly counting the months where (all being well) I am out of there for a yeAr!

Pugmumlondon · 21/06/2015 21:49

I meant 'I'm not' Blush

SleepyDragon · 21/06/2015 22:13

Horsey I'm really sorry if I missed an earlier post but is there a reason for an arranged section or have you already had one?

No sick days for me, I have a May full on job but luckily I've only had nausea rather than vomiting!

fishermanswife1 · 21/06/2015 23:16

No sick days for me yet, but that maybe thanks to felxi working hours. As long as I do my hours, it doesn't hugely matter when. So I've been starting and finishing a little later due to tough mornings of nausea and tiredness.

I'm starting to show now, all of a sudden happened when I hit 11 weeks. Got a decent podge. Sat on sofa earlier and DH said, yep you look pregnant today. I think I can get away with just looking like I've put on weight for another couple of weeks.... Maybe

MissMartin10 · 21/06/2015 23:18

oh the fact that I've been off the Most out of us all makes me feel v.bad haha.. but i suppose i can't help it can i!? I've been there 3 years my manager and section manager are lovely and understanding and have to deal with customer calls which can sometimes be in excess of 45mins long so its not like i can just go to the toilet whenever i want Sad .. thats what makes it worse.. especially sitting on the phone/pc with a migrane...

have a great holiday!! Grin x

fishermanswife1 · 22/06/2015 06:55

missM everyone's different and it really depends on their situation. I totally would have needed some time off if I couldn't work flexibly. I also work from home more than half the time, which means I can log in and do what I can while looking like death warmed up and visiting the loo regularly not feeling too great. I'm currently the queen of having important Tele meetings in my pjs with colleagues none the wiser!

Hope everyone has a great Monday!!

crumble74 · 22/06/2015 07:07

missmartin Don't feel bad! It really sounds like you've had a really rough ride. I wouldn't have gone in either but I'm still on maternity leave

Big 12 week scan/Harmony test here today. Would feel nervous about it but feelings overshadowed by DS' first long day at nursery. What if he doesn't sleep? Argggh.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 22/06/2015 07:32

Good luck today Crumble, hope it all goes well, including nursery.

Missmartin please don't feel bad. Some are sicker than others. I've only had one day off, but If I'd been in a different job where it's not more work to be absent than in, I'd have taken a lot more. And I'm counting down to the end of term after which I plan to veg all day long, mostly in a horizontal position!

11 weeks today!

Lookingforadvice123 · 22/06/2015 08:03

Don't feel bad missmartin everyone's different and suffers differently. For me it was the headaches that forced me to be off rather than the nausea, which I was just battling through.

Good luck on the scan crumble! Think we'll start to have a flurry of scans this week, mine is Thursday and I know a couple of others are this week? Looking forward to seeing the pics Smile

12 weeks today woohoo!

coffeenut · 22/06/2015 08:09

Good luck crumble - how exciting re all the tests. I'm sure your ds will be fine at nursery - they always do better than you expect!!!

Teenie I hope you are feeling okay and had a better night last night. It sounded horrific.

My fb feed is full of preggos and birth annoucements. It's like the whole world is pregnant! Smile

crumble74 · 22/06/2015 09:14

Thank you guys! Scan's not till 17.30 so hope I can update you all once I've put DS to bed & eaten dinner etc.! MIL will be here to babysit inbetween thankfully. I think it's going to be an even busier week on here if that's possible!

loveulotslikejellytots · 22/06/2015 09:18

I've got to try and phone the hospital this morning and get a scan date arranged. The midwife said at really hard to get through but you just have to keep trying. Not easy when I'm at work in an open plan office and no one knows yet!

TeenieDeenie · 22/06/2015 09:42

Coffee I'm feeling a good bit better today, thank you for asking. I think it might have been a bug as there is sickness and diahorrea going round where I am.

Lilduck How are you this morning? Will be thinking of you today and FX for a positive outcome.

Missmartin don't feel bad, you sound like you are struggling. Flowers Work seem like they're ok with you taking some time off and hopefully the sickness should only last for a few more weeks then you can get back to some kind of normality.

Good luck today to Crumble and any other ladies that are having scans today. Can't wait to see some 12 week scan pics! Smile

So dunno if it's just me but is anyone else freezing all the time??? Seriously I've never been a very warm person at the best of times but I am literally cold and shivery all the time just now.

This also sounds ridiculous but think my little one has had a growth spurt the past few days as I keep getting the feeling that there is something in my pelvis. Obvs there is, at 8 weeks the uterus is the size of a grapefruit, it's just I am just much more aware that something's there now!

I'll get the stats updated this afternoon, there's been quite alot of activity the past few days!

Pugmumlondon · 22/06/2015 10:00

Good luck all having scans today and this week - so jealous! Mines not until the 18th!

9 weeks today though. I also called the hospital to check the nuchal fold and bloods would be taken at my 12w scan and they will be. I think she thought I was mad but hoping she'll just chalk me up to overly anxious first time preggo!

My boobs are enormous. And I'm currently just looking like I'm a bit fat! 3 weeks to go.... Just keeping fx xxx

moonshine25 · 22/06/2015 10:16

Just checking in after a busy weekend - hope those of your feeling poorly are coping! And good luck for your scans this week those of you that have them. Mine's on the 3rd July so not too long to wait.

So my morning sickness has definitely ramped up this last week or so and I'm 10 weeks tomorrow. I really hope this isn't a sign of things to come - sickness every day for the past 4 days. Has anyone else's gotten worse around this time?

On a happier note, went bra shopping yesterday and my boobs feel so much better now in a new bra - only gone up one size so far but this new bra is making all the difference!! And yes I'm feeling much colder too - odd isn't it?!

jmac88 · 22/06/2015 10:20

Loveyoulots speak to PALS Patient advisory liaison service. They should be able to advocate for you and get things moving a bit quicker. I spoke to them about my GP recently and things are much better now!

loveulotslikejellytots · 22/06/2015 10:49

Thanks jmac88, I'm going to try and phone the scan department on my lunch break and see how I get on. The midwife emailed the scan request on Saturday, she did say don't worry if they say they haven't got it yet today, it sometimes takes a day to process. She then said try Tuesday and go from there, but I'll bear PALS in mind.
