Thanks all! So lovely to know I'm not the only one and I know - must find some new projects to occupy time!

valancy excellent work! I am now working out when I can now eat it again for lunch.... Blush

brickie everything I've read says no - after that point it would be a different test which isn't as good and has a higher false positive rate. I'm going to ring and check xx

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/06/2015 12:59

brickie no it's later than that, got a feeling it's 14+1 but the NHS website will say I'm sure Smile

brickiemum2 · 21/06/2015 13:02

pug the nhs info all says the early tests (nt scan and blood) are to be done between 11 and 14 weeks. The later one is only for over 14 weeks. Now, that is obviously NICE guidelines but as to whether it is best practice I don't know? Ultimately I don't think they'll change your appointment unless there is a chance you are over 14 weeks though Sad

Juniper44 · 21/06/2015 13:05

I would have thought it more likely people will be moved back rather than forwards. It seems more common to ovulate later in your cycle than earlier. I conceived on day 27 this time (according to scan at 8+4).

Pugmumlondon · 21/06/2015 13:08

Thanks guys! No trust is obligated to follow nice - but they are best practice. My trust says on all the documentation that it's 12+6. I don't want them to change the appt - just ensure they take the measurement at the scan. They can do the blood test with my mw appt. just need to Ring and check I think to ensure I know what's what.

I don't think I'd go for further testing anyway but I would like to know the risk factor. Surely if it's just a measurement at the scan then it should be quite straightforward for them to do? There was a screening test booklet included in my letter but no specific mention of it in the letter. Bloody minefield!

brickiemum2 · 21/06/2015 13:21

If it's any help I've never heard of the nt scan NOT happening at the early pregnancy/dating scan. It certainly was with my other two children. My "guide to screening tests during pregnancy" says it will be but that's nhs Scotland who don't follow NICE guidelines specifically, we have our own version I think?

Pugmumlondon · 21/06/2015 13:29

Thanks brickie I'm sure it will be fine but I will ring and ask them to ensure its done on the day at the time of the scan!

aliquid · 21/06/2015 13:32

Pug, I'd ring and check just to make sure. I find that there needs to be a lot 8f chasing and confirming for maternity care! Nearly decked the woman on the reception in a fit of preggo rage when she insisted my 20 wk scan couldn't be booked til after Thursday the whenever as that was the day I turned 20 weeks according to her little wheel thing. Kept telling her that if my scan had just shown I was 12+3 on a Friday how could I possibly change weeks on a Thursday?! DH thought it was hilarious because a couple of days really doesn't matter I was just so angry she wasn't listening! They nearly had my nuchal scan booked too late (probably the same woman with her bloody wheel) and were fine with me changing it so worth a go!

mrschatty · 21/06/2015 13:43

Regarding screening I've been told between 11+4 and 13+6 mine is 13+4 going off lmp

Blackandwhitecat3 · 21/06/2015 13:46

hmm... interesting. My scan's at 11+5, I hope they'll be able to take the measurement. (and I suppose I'm "lucky" I know exactly how far along I am since I did IVF).

aliquid · 21/06/2015 14:04

b&w if they can't you should get a bonus scan!

Pugmumlondon · 21/06/2015 14:12

I know how far I am because of early scan - LMP dates would put me due in December!! But that was my first period since coil removal so dates are messed up. They think I ovulated late.

Will feedback after phone call tomorrow!

fishermanswife1 · 21/06/2015 15:21

I'm the same b&w. Scan is at 11+5 so hope they can measure. But as Ali said, if not... We'd just have to go back in a few days after.

Kiwigirl23 · 21/06/2015 15:55

Pug I am exactly the same, I worry about everything - at the moment I am worried my little blip isn't healthy! I am glad I am not the only one that thinks about the worst!

Regarding the extra test, do they have to stick a needle in your tummy? Or is it just another scan? Is it worth getting them? Very confused..

Melon You will have an amazing time! I am struggling with the trying to hide why I am not drinking, as normally I am a bit of a drinker - last night I poured a non-alcoholic wine into a normal bottle of wine... worked a treat :)

Also, just made peanut butter and raspberry brownies.... I don't think they will last long.

LilDuck · 21/06/2015 17:03

Thanks ladies for all your support. Bleeding still happening on and off. EPU closed Sundays so out of hours GP told me to rest today, head to GP first thing tomorrow and get EPU referral from them. So been sleeping but feel pretty wretched and very scared. The dr was very calming and said it was probably okay- we know it's not ectopic at least because of the early scan - but I can't help but be freaked out and the hormones just amplify it! Just gotta sit tight I guess! Its just madness how helpless you feel for these three months! I've never wanted something more (DH aside!) but can do almost nothing to make it okay! Xx

babybabynamechange · 21/06/2015 17:40

Just a quick one because I saw someone was worrying earlier - the Nuchal Scan can be done up to 13+6 and when I had DS the bloods for it were taken at the same time as the scan (separate from the booking bloods so wouldn't matter if scan was before booking). HTH x

MissMartin10 · 21/06/2015 18:33

has anyone had anytime off sick yet with pregnancy.. ive had 7 days but i have been bad with sickness and vomiting somtimes about 9 times aday.. i feel guilty but sometimes i just feel to rough to go to work especially when ive been up ill through the night and haven't slept.
ive been quite bad today nd i prob will be tomorrow but i don't want them to think im taking the piss because they are so great about it! anyone else been off sick??

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/06/2015 18:49

missmartin I have, up until this week just gone it was only two days when I thought something was wrong, but this last week it just got a bit much and my headache was terrible, so I had two days off. I did feel guilty as I'm so busy but my line manager knows I'm pregnant and has been saying to take time off if I feel really crap, at least I managed to battle through until I was 11 weeks gone!

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 21/06/2015 18:50

MissMartin I've been really lucky and not had to take any sick days so far. I have to get up at half 5 for work, and any nausea seems to appear mainly in the evenings. I can't imagine how unbearable it would be if I was throwing up loads so I don't think you should feel guilty about taking a bit of time off. It's all part of the process of baby-making, I'm sure your bosses will understand.

MissMartin10 · 21/06/2015 19:17

looking - 2 days is really good especially at 11 weeks weldone Smile hehe
maybe - i know yeah it is Grin my manager is really lovely and keeps going on about how much all this sickness will be worth it..i work in a big office and don't have my own individual work load.

hotcrossbun83 · 21/06/2015 19:30

Hello, please can I join?

I'm due somewhere between 20th Jan (lmp) and 27th Jan (early scan), waiting to see what the next scan says! Have a ds1 who is 18 months

I've been so sick this time round - I thought my first pg was bad but nothing compared to this. Am sick every day and have been signed off work for last 10 days. Due back tomorrow and really scared I'm going to be sick on the train ????

ValancyJane · 21/06/2015 19:48

Miss I had 2 & 1/2 days off work this week - the first two I rang in sick with a stomach bug (but fessed up to human resources in confidence that it was morning sickness, purely so it was logged that way). The half day I really should have rung in sick but was very conscious of how it looked, so dragged myself in and had to get sent home. My line manager, who knew about my pregnancy but was keeping it quiet, did have to notify a member of SLT and our headteacher to get me sent home, so they now know. However, on the plus side they were both very understanding and the head (who isn't always great) reassured me that they understood I might be having ongoing absences and it was fine as they knew I was doing the best I could under the circumstances.

Welcome hotcrossbun :)

Lilliana · 21/06/2015 20:18

Finally caught up - it's taken me two days!
Sorry can't remember names but :

Welcome to all the newbies and congratulations.

I've also got the horrible sour taste all the time but especially after eating.

DH wanted dominoes for Father's Day today so healthy eating is going well Hmm

Feeling a bit better the last few days. Managed to survive the hen do last night without anyone clocking and actually had a really good time. Lots of dancing and got home around 2.

Just waiting impatiently for my letter telling me when my scan is. Hopefully before the wedding.

SleepyDragon · 21/06/2015 20:27

That awkward moment when you and your lovely DH who has spent all day clearing the spare room, have a play argument over who is going to collect the Chinese and you end up getting all hormonal and bursting into tears...... Hmm

floodwoman23 · 21/06/2015 20:35

Off on holiday tomorrow. Got to leave at 3am for the flight (what was I thinking?) so early night for me I think.
Got my 12 week scan when we get back so lots to look forward to. Have a lovely week and I hope things work out for all those with worries.
