Hi all - I was hoping it is OK to join your group as well? I am 10 weeks tomorrow and long way from home, so lacking in support a bit (waves of homesickness are intense with hormones:(). This is a first pregnancy so I have been just going along with it, but I often worry as my symptoms aren't very strong - is anyone else like this? I have my first appointment on Monday with the midwife so hopefully I will feel a bit more at ease.

I hope everyone is well.

X

Blackandwhitecat3 · 20/06/2015 18:01

Yokyil Tennis Valancy* I hear you. I'm so delighted to be pregnant, I never thought I would get lucky, but I've forgotten all of that in the last three weeks of misery. I hate hearing myself moaning so much but I really feel like I need a break from this never ending nausea and fatigue. I spend nearly every waking moment focusing so hard on not throwing up/fainting/bursting into tears. It's really getting on top of me now Sad. I can't focus on getting anything done, and can't even talk to DH about what food to buy for dinners.

I've turned into that awful moaning pregnant woman who can see how lucky she is when there are so many couples with infertility and miscarriage problems!

Moan over. Thanks.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 20/06/2015 18:01

Can't see...

mrsfazruns · 20/06/2015 18:04

Agreed melonface everyday is a minefield!! 11 weeks today and I have literally knicker checked at every single wee since I was 3w3d with my BFP!! Every twinge or lack of nausea and I'm a wreck!!

AmyFlame1986 · 20/06/2015 18:09

9 weeks 2 days today. I am feeling fine, no nausea or anything. I had a week when I was worrying but having read there are a good proportion of people that never get morning sickness so Am not too worried now. Just think I am super lucky..... The tiredness is even starting to clear!

I have been reading and some of you have had a torrid time with sickness, here's to the 2nd trimester when we will all glow.

Anyone's sick gone to pot. My skin is horrendous....

melonface · 20/06/2015 18:25

welcome kiwi and congratulations

Pugmumlondon · 20/06/2015 18:29

Welcome kiwi and congrats!

blackandwhite I hear you and up until two days ago I felt the same. As delighted as I am it's bloody shocking when you literally feel like shit 24/7.

melon and mrsfaz I'm just so anxious I can't help but hope that the next scan will help somewhat because I'm going to have a breakdown by the end otherwise. Because I had bleeding the other week I religiously knicker check now about a hundred times a day. I know it's paranoia but what can you do?

On a brighter note. Just made huge lasagne. So excited. Blush

melonface · 20/06/2015 18:36

I'm 8+3 and had a scan at 7+0 where everything was fine and we sas the heartbeat. That momentary relief is long gone! The knicker checking is a bit out of hand for me, Im not sure what I can do to ease my anxiety but I am trying.

Pug can I have a slice?!

MissMartin10 · 20/06/2015 18:38

welcome kiwi Grin Congratulations! !
ooohhh pug please can i have some??. . omg i could just that right now .. jealous hehe

Pugmumlondon · 20/06/2015 18:48

My knicker checking when I had the bleed was literally out of control plus DH ringing every hour to check any change. I have definitely calmed down but still anxious. Trying to chill. This stress combined with work stress isn't going to help anything. Positive thoughts!

martin and melon I think my DH has his eye on any leftovers but I'll keep you mind if not....! Grin

MissMartin10 · 20/06/2015 19:06

pug im actually getting dressed right now (been in my pjs since 3) so i can go to sainsburys .. ill have to settle for a ready made lasange im not waiting forever while it cooks.. i cannot get it off my mind since you mentioned it haa Grin

spooble · 20/06/2015 19:18

Welcome Kiwi and congratulations! Try not to worry about the lack of symptoms (easier said than done I know!) One thing I've realised reading these boards is that everyone has very different experiences of pregnancy, and that symptoms randomly come and go.

Pugmumlondon · 20/06/2015 19:22

martin I've just had two huge slices plus garlic bread and salad. Now feeling so ill I've had to lie down Blush what a glutton!! Glad I've inspired you! Lasagne is a win.
kiwi spooable is absolutely right - everyone is different and until you have otherwise proof we all need to try to remain calm. Hoping the next few weeks bring lots of lovely news of scans Smile and first trimester completions!!

floodwoman23 · 20/06/2015 19:26

Hi there,

Can I join in too?

I'm 10+2, and have my scan at 12 weeks on 2nd July - can't blimming wait! I have a DS born 2012, and had a previous mc in 2011.
Teenie can you add me to the stats please? I'm 38, and in Reading. Smile

I wasn't going to post until after the scan, but babybabynamechange has inspired me to just bite the bullet and post now.
I was following an antenatal thread for October 2012 with my last pregnancy, but didn't pluck up the courage to post. When all the lovely ladies on that thread also set up a private group on Facebook I was too late to join in. I'm determined to be more brave this time!

Nice to meet you all Grin

fishermanswife1 · 20/06/2015 19:34

Welcome newbies!

Babybaby that sounds like such a lovely supportive group.

pug Netflix and chocolate sounds perfect.

I am so tired after spending a good few hours attacking doing the garden. Now eyes half closed and laying on sofa with no intention of moving.

Totally fed up of hearing myself whinge to poor DH. But bless him when I said "but it's all the time " he said "that's because you're pregnant all the time!"

Amyflame yep, skin looked better around 8 weeks, now I'm just over 11 it's terrible and dry. Mostly spots on cheeks and jaw line. Really conscious of it but apparently it's the extra progesterone and should improve.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 20/06/2015 19:40

Fishermans reading what your DH said just made me burst into tears.

pug that lasagne sounds awful. I was eyeing up the readymade ones in the supermarket. There's just no way I could cook one right now, I take my hat off to you.

Amazing people with DCs already, I have no idea how you get through this.

Still, we are all pregnant today! And that's a good thing.

Pugmumlondon · 20/06/2015 19:43

blackandwhite no it was... I'm having a good day today! First time in several weeks I've felt ok enough to do cooking like that so thought I'd make the most of it!

And yes - we all are and this is positive Smile

Welcome flood!

Ah fisher I definitely do not have enough energy for that, even though it's Looking desperate. Am impressed!!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 20/06/2015 19:46

Haha pug I meant awesome not awful! Worst autocorrect ever Blush

Pugmumlondon · 20/06/2015 19:48

Hahahahaha I thought you were just being sarcastic! Wink

aliquid · 20/06/2015 19:50

Hi chip and impatiently think I recognise your names! I'm excited for a close age gap when they're older but fully prepared for a few....interesting months! Everyone who's got a short gap says it's the best thing they did though so thinking positively! And it means I get to feed more of my cloth nappy addiction so win!

Sorry to those all feeling rough. I feel you though am also desperately jealous of whoever had a subway. And lasagne. And tomato soup. Perhaps I'm finally coming out of the sickness and into the stuffing my face mode! Need to be careful though, went up two dress sizes last time and have struggled to lose it whilst dealing with a very sleep resistant child and the need for quick sugar fixes!

Quick thrush tip (I had it constantly last time) my doctor prescribed me a pessary of the stuff they used before canestan came along and it was much more effective! Not a cure unfortunately but held it at bay for a bit longer! It is miserable, heartfelt sympathies to anyone who's got it this time! I seem to have swapped the thrush for horrid headaches and not sure which is worse!

MissMartin10 · 20/06/2015 20:34

well thanks pug yep you definitely indpired me... just finished eating it although the last mouthful made me heave i thoroughly enjoyed it!

Welcome flood Congratulations Grin Thanks x

MissMartin10 · 20/06/2015 20:40

woo my mum is paying for a early scan! im going to call and arrange it on monday. . she said you can't put a price on reassurance and its worth it to stop me worrying Smile

Yokyil · 20/06/2015 20:42

amy yes skin has been terrible since I found out - very big chin spots & cheeks have come out in purple acne colour - no raised spots but really bad complexion Confused hoping this clears up sometime soon!
Have had tummy pains all day today Sad haven't moved from the sofa since like 3.30

MissMartin10 · 20/06/2015 20:43

yokyil aww..hope you feel better soon Smile .. is it a crampy pain?

Yokyil · 20/06/2015 20:52

Not as bad as a period pain but a constant achey-ness. Uncomfortable! Am hoping it's just the normal lovely trapped wind & stretching
