For all those lovely bumps incubating until last few days of Oct and all November, spilling possibly over to December for the super comfortable babies- come and chat, rant, vent, chant, glow, sweat, watch nails grow whilst doing antenatal pilates/yoga/sleeping/eating/navel gazing and over analyse to your hormones content!

Optional - FB group is up and bumping, PM me with email to be added.

Hope it goes well Austen with my first I didn't feel anything until around the time of the scan. And with this one (my second) I don't feel much due to anterior placenta, so I think it's totally normal.

MademoiselleG · 20/06/2015 20:59

So lovely to see all the nice scan news on here. I'm mainly on the FB page now as I just hate the MN app, so apologies for being a stranger on here.
Anyone had someone try to feel baby kick? He kicks loads and then I'll tell dh or dd to come over to feel it and guess what? Nothing. They must think I'm making it up!

MademoiselleG · 20/06/2015 21:01

austen I didn't know what to expect first time so I think I had probably been feeling movement but putting it down to wind instead. It made much more sense at the scan when I could link feeling with the moving image! My scan is Monday too so hand holding x

BlueBananas · 20/06/2015 21:03

Thankyou for all the welcomes Grin

mrsscarlett no we never got an answer either. I bled for 5 weeks in the end, they figured out the bleed was coming from the neck of my womb but never figured out why. Then one day it just stopped as quickly as it started! It was all very odd, wish I had an answer though, without one I'm not sure if it's going to happen again and I'm nervous every time I go to the toilet! Starting to unclench a bit now I'm half way though!
My hospital were brill about the awkward baby, even after they got all the measurements they needed she said the pictures she got were rubbish and blurry so sent me for a walk and let me come back just for a picture! I was so impressed Smile

Feeling for everyone that's in pain, I haven't had any pain yet but I do get the most annoying clicking feeling when I walk, has anyone else had this? It's driving me potty!

BlueBananas · 20/06/2015 22:07

Forgot to post the pic!
Here's our little boy, once he decided to keep still - ooo it feels weird being able to say he!

BlueBananas · 20/06/2015 22:09

Pic didn't work Hmm

Abbey I am seeing a consultant to discuss preterm labour in a few weeks. I'll ask then about a cervix scan if they don't mention it first.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 20/06/2015 22:35

Good news on the scan Blue

That's good they are seeing you soon Snozzberry. It seems to vary so much between hospitals. I'm seeing a consultant midwife soon and then she can refer me to the actual consultant. My midwife did say at around 36/7 weeks, but er...slight problem with that! I dont have the same condition, so in a way I understand their logic. I'm still worried though, so hopefully I can book in a sooner appointment when I see the consultant midwife.

rebbles · 20/06/2015 22:51

Polar bear I think it is routine in my area, they offered it even though I have a low risk pregnancy and it's my first one.
Abbey road I am at southend hospital but I think because it is in conjunction with king's college London research that must be why they are doing it. They did an internal scan and measured length of cervix and said if above 25mm then risk is low.
If anyone wants it, Might be worth asking if they will do it for you with the dildo cam!!BlushConfused

austengirl · 20/06/2015 23:54

Thanks Abbey and MademoiselleG. I still can't quite believe how uneventful this pregnancy has been. So we'll see how it goes.

PinkaColada · 21/06/2015 10:20

Good luck Austen! I think we all worry for various reasons. I haven't got any real bump to speak of at 19+2 which worries me. I think they say up to 24 weeks with no movement felt is okay, but if everyone else has it you start to think 'what's wrong with me?!'. I only properly felt movement from about 18+4.

I had my first PFB moment yesterday! I went to the theatre to see Miss Saigon and there was a really loud helicopter noise that went on for ages. It was one of those noises you feel going through you, very realistic! I really worried that it was too much for the baby, so I brought my knees up a bit and covered my 'bump' with folded arms! I was desperately waiting to feel the tiniest bit of movement afterwards. I felt like so silly and yet so worried at the same time.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 21/06/2015 10:39

I've still got no noticeable bump at 21+3 and people said I'd be massive with my second. It's just the way I make them I guess! With DS I still had people at work noticing in my last week - 35

austengirl · 21/06/2015 17:15

My bump has just started to appear, and I'm not particularly trying to hide it or flaunt it, but people at work are still coming up to me and saying 'I hear congratulations are in order' or 'oh you're pregnant?' So I guess it's not obvious to all and sundry.

When's your scan Pinka?

MissBananaMama · 21/06/2015 19:44

Hey, place marking! First time on thread. Due DD4 on 11th November congrats everyone!

BlueBananas · 21/06/2015 20:21

Jealous of everyone with no bumps yet! Mine is taking over the world! Strangers in the supermarket and places are asking me when I'm due and are always very shocked when I say November, they expect me to say next month or something Hmm

HeirToTheIronThrone · 21/06/2015 22:28

I'm the same Blue - people keep telling me I'm going to be enormous! 18 wks today and have a great big belly and sore hips and bum from carrying it about :(

BowiesJumper · 21/06/2015 22:36

Evening all! Still no real bump for me at 21wks, just look a bit fatter in the tummy area! But I'm wearing the most comfy black super skinny maternity jeggings from h&m. I love them! Not sure how long they'll fit for though!

It's funny to think that now I've my scan, we won't see the baby until it arrives (barring any probs). Very odd! It's kicking away a lot of the time though so making its presence known!

Hope you're all well and welcome MissBanana!

MissBananaMama · 21/06/2015 22:45

Thank you! I've a big massive bump too and thought I looked further on than I am until I seen my cousin today who is 31 weeks... She is most definitely far bigger than me (in the nicest possible, baby bump way)

PinkaColada · 22/06/2015 06:19

Austen - Scan is 2nd July. Will be 20+6. I feel the next week and a bit will drag!

Apparently I have more of a bump than I think. I met a friend yesterday and one of the first things she said was that I was getting a tiny bump now. I was wearing maternity jeans though and a fairly clingy top. It's probably my most pregnant outfit!

It's really quiet on here atm. Is everyone facebooking now or did they just have more exciting weekends than me?!

Alittlebitofeverything · 22/06/2015 09:22

Hello..

I have been mainly face booking but thought I'd also post here to keep the thread moving..
I have now invested in a pram and car seat which was very exciting if not a bit scary, it now feels very real that this is actually happening. I then decided to be energetic and go for a walk which I was very proud of until I sat down on the sofa and fell asleep from 6 till about half 8, getting to actual sleep after that was a challenge.

I'm 17 weeks now and definitely have a bump although it is much more pronounced when I wear actual maternity clothes, I think I could still get away with hiding it but leggings and vest tops do somewhat show it off.

I also am not certain but I may have felt my first movement last night, I had a strange flutter in my tummy which felt different to other things. I had been trying to sleep for a while though so may be imagining it.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 22/06/2015 10:04

I think a lot of people are on fb but I do prefer mumsnet!

I guess I don't have much to report though, it's that weird phase where I feel more or less OK, but aren't massively pregnant yet either.

I'm full of anxiety at the moment though. The hospital are all about choice but then after doing the VBAC course (which was meant to help me decide) they've pretty much said I'm having a VBAC in the hospital. So much for choice then... I think I'm going to have to raise again my PTSD from my 1st birth, and I really didn't want to go down the mental health route for various reasons, but it seems they won't listen to other reasons. The thing is this is dragging on...a decision at 37 weeks has been mentioned, but I'd had DS by then!

MissBananaMama · 22/06/2015 10:11

AbbeyRoad I read your post the last time. Are they still pushing for Vbac? That's ridiculous

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 22/06/2015 10:33

Yeah they are. I'm taking DH with me to see the consultant, which sounds pathetic I know, but I often get anxious when talking to these people and he'll help me stay on track and cover my points (which I'll write down). It seems to be the hospital's policy, which I kind of understand if someone just fancies a c section without any need and doesn't know the risks. But if a woman has read up on both, and we all have different medical histories, I can't see why she can't choose. I'm hoping I'll get an elcs eventually, but I think it'll be tough and take several months.

MissBananaMama · 22/06/2015 10:36

I really hope you get the ELCS. It's awful what you've been through and it's not fair of them to put you under further undue stress when you should be enjoying your pregnancy. Good luck!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 22/06/2015 10:59

Thanks MissBanana I think perhaps I wasn't firm enough at the start. They asked me at booking (about 8 weeks i think?) how I wanted to give birth and I said I didn't know, because at that point I hadn't looked into anything, hadn't had scans, and didn't know. Now I'm wondering if that's why I'm on this route, as my friend said she wanted elcs at booking and has already seen the consultant and got it signed off.
