Hello lovely ladies. Apologies for the radio silence the past 2 weeks but I've been going through he'll! I have some good news! Been for a scan today and all is well, seen baby's heartbeat and is the right size. Have had 2 weeks of torture as I had some spotting 2 weeks ago and scan was inconclusive but now appears my dates were out by a week! Feeling overwhelmed and excited. Hope you are all ok.

Updated stats: Melon baby #1 EDF 27th January

melonface · 10/06/2015 17:15

*EDD not EDF!

kep1979 · 10/06/2015 17:47

That's great news melon - hope the rest of your pregnancy is relaxing and uneventful Smile

Lookingforadvice123 · 10/06/2015 18:02

Thanks kep that info is really helpful I feel much better informed now! You'd think the midwife would give you that leaflet when you book in for your scan...

It says though that bloods take 40 minutes to process, but everyone I know has had their overall result in the post?!

aloha I have a cyst too we can be cyst-buddies Grin mine is 5.5-6cm, and the sonographer wasn't concerned at all, just said they're really common in pregnancy due to all the hormones etc.

Sooo tired today, could fall asleep on the sofa right now! Got another early private scan tomorrow when I'll be 10+3, I measured 2 days behind last time so will be interesting to see if I'm actually 10+1 still. Going to be so nervous hope everything's ok!

Tonicandgin · 10/06/2015 18:22

Good news around the scans Smile can't wait for mine.

Today I feel hideous.. Confused

Been onsite and ended up with massive headache and almost comes. Awful.

Morning sickness is not pleasant when your dd manages to smear poo along the nursery wall first thing in the morning. ShockShock

crumble74 · 10/06/2015 19:00

Great news on the scans aloha and melon!

All the best haquoi!

SleepyDragon · 10/06/2015 19:44

Evening all...

Just got in to find 3 letters from the dear old NHS all, it has to be said, made out in my maiden name not my married name!!

I have another booking appointment, this time with midwife on 23 June

My first scan is 10 July

My first ante natal appointment is 29 June

Felt really giddy till DH pointed out he can't come on 23rd due to work. I know he doesn't have to be there but i would have liked him to be.

Seems very real now even if I am concerned about them getting my name wrong!!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 10/06/2015 19:52

Tonic I cannot even begin to imagine how you amazing ladies cope with a toddler/baby whilst being pregnant. I am such a wuss!

Teeth cleaning has become the worst part of my day. I retch every time. Has anyone found a solution to this?

babybabynamechange · 10/06/2015 20:00

I saw my GP about 3 weeks ago to report that I'm pregnant (in my area you see the GP first rather than booking straight with the midwife), he filled in the form and recommended me for consultant led care (due to a genetic issue) but I've still not heard anything - anyone know how long it should take?

Black I've heard that if regular toothpaste makes you sick when pregnant it's worth trying a kiddies strawberry flavoured one for a few months - hth

Blackandwhitecat3 · 10/06/2015 20:11

Thanks baby, but I don't think it's the mint, it's the spitting and having the brush in my mouth Sad. Even the thought of it Envy.

I'm sorry I don't know about how long it should take to hear

OP posts:
mrschatty · 10/06/2015 22:12

sleepy mine have all been made out to MISS chatty... not the worst thing but surely if they don't ask instead of presuming they would put Ms?
I'm so tired and queasy today been good for nothing not even had a shower what a disgusting pig I am

AlohaMama · 10/06/2015 22:13

Ooh tonic that does not sound fun. Luckily I have never had that experience! Mind you I'm trying to get DH to take on DDs poopy nappies for me when he can, she's got a cold so they are loose and stinky. Thankfully they are contained in her nappy Grin

MSharp84 · 10/06/2015 22:28

Hi,
Just joined up, also expecting 19th January. First pregnancy so a bit nervous, especially since it took 2 years!
I've not been sick but felt quite nauseous last weekend and have been knackered for about 2 weeks but much better the last 2 days so hoping thats it tapering off!
Scan booked for 26th June but no midwife yet.

AlohaMama · 10/06/2015 22:36

Haha looking always nice to have a cyst buddy! We can compare dimensions...

Wynsey · 10/06/2015 22:53

Hey

Well today I've been quite grumpy!
And my boobs are still aching! Still got a slightly sore uterus Hahaha but still no nausea or sickness - I'm 7 weeks tomorrow - do u think this is going to mean I'm going to get it bad soon?? :-(
Also - I HATE people who smoke or wear perfume!!
I actually love reading this every day!!
Teenie - can u add my stats? It's my first DC & no MC (Fx). Can't think what else it asked!! Xx

moonshine25 · 10/06/2015 23:25

Welcome MSharp and congratulations!!!

I'm still on and off nauseous and just been at a friends for tea and felt really sick after main course so was pretty worried for a little while but then it passed Smile

Re brushing teeth black, I have no idea how to solve it but it is my worst time of day too! Evening is better than morning though for me...

moonshine25 · 10/06/2015 23:28

Oh wynsey feeling exactly the same as you now at 8 weeks, really hope that the sickness doesn't get worse!!!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 10/06/2015 23:58

god, sorry to hear about the people struggling to clean their teeth. That must be horrific.

Could you try using one of those modern fancy mouth washes that basically annihilates all bacteria within a 5ft perimeter? Then again if the brushing is difficult then the gargling might not be that much better Sad

I think my morning sickness has pretty much gone now (fingers crossed I don't hurl tomorrow now I've said that), but I am ridiculously sensitive to smells. Anything I don't like - for whatever reason - is just unbearable. It can even make me sick again even if I've felt totally fine all day.

It's like the world's worst super power.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 11/06/2015 06:34

I can smell a cigarette from a thousand paces. I have super sensory smell. I am a super powered human!

Gouda that's a good idea about the mouthwash...but they give me mouth ulcers . Moonshine that's interesting yours is worse in the morning, mine's definitely worse in the evening. I might try this morning with no toothpaste just to check baby's mint idea and then gargle with toothpaste and throw up anyway

wynsey I agree - reading this helps me through it.

I'm 9+3 today, planning on feeling a whole lot better in a couple of weeks Smile

OP posts:
Lookingforadvice123 · 11/06/2015 07:11

wynsey my nausea got worse at 8 weeks then really ramped up at 9 weeks! Fingers crossed yours stays the same though, week 9-10 was horrific. Thought I was feeling better the last couple of days (I'm 10+3) but then yesterday evening got really ill and spent a lot of time dry heaving over the loo Sad still haven't actually been sick but I think it's only a matter of time...

Private scan again today yey! Nervous though Sad I dreamt that the sonographer said the baby looked fine but was really small which has worried me! Dh is 6" and I'm 5"6 so our baby definitely shouldn't be on the small side!

coffeenut · 11/06/2015 07:15

congrats msharp! Another 26th scan buddy! Smile

I've had my harmony bloods taken. I think. It was a very confusing experience. I went to the collection centre that my doctor sent me to and the nurse had NO IDEA about the test, which tubes to use, how much it cost, basically anything. He took my number and sent me away, saying he'd have to contact the the testing facility etc and get back to me!!! Either that or I could go to the major hospital that does the testing (an hours' drive away in traffic). Anyway I was working out what to do when he called me back and said the hospital had contacted him and told him which vials etc to use and that he could now go ahead if I wished to come back and that they were going to do it FOR FREE. This is a $500 test (250 odd pounds) and I was very skeptical. I asked him three times if he was SURE he had contacted about them about the right test.... anyway he took 4 vials of blood, plus urine sample and sent me on my way. I'm pretty sure in a week or so I'm going to be contacted by someone saying either that I need to pay $500 OR that I need to go back in and have the bloods taken again.

coffeenut · 11/06/2015 07:20

good luck for the scan looking!!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 11/06/2015 07:32

Oooh Coffee if you were in the UK I'd ask where that was because I quite fancy a free Harmony test! Hope it was worth being messed around for.

(touch wood) I have barely any nausea this morning, hurrah! Such a relief. I've got my first midwife appointment today at lunchtime, I hope she' running on time and not late like someone was yesterday - I have to get back to work on time!

mrsfazruns · 11/06/2015 08:01

Love catching up on all the posts!!! Good news with scans makes me excited for everyone!!

I've never thought about cloth nappies but think I'll check it out .... Thanks for the education!!

9+5 today and feeling much better than recent!! Hoping im over the worst of it! Not needed a 3 hour nap in over a week!! BUT .... The belly is definately growing!!!

crumble74 · 11/06/2015 08:18

I too suffer from toothbrushing retch, I don't think it's the paste it's more the getting close to the gag reflex for me. I shudder just thinking about it!

Hi & welcome msharp!

Good luck with the scan today looking!

Hope those bloods are in safe hands coffee! Sounds confusing!
