Oh yes and good luck coffee and Brickie for today too! I feel like we're all reaching milestones which is very exciting!

OTheHugeManatee · 10/06/2015 08:00

Good luck everyone for scans and booking in!

moonshine overall my worst symptom is tiredness too. I'm a bit queasy sometimes but more than that just. So. Tired Confused

mrschatty · 10/06/2015 08:18

I'm exhausted but I'm very queasy does anyone have days where they are so queasy everything makes them heave? Woke up dizzy room spinning promptly spewed up the water I was sipping. Have come downstairs for my cornflakes got a whiff of the bin and bank spewing again. I've only called I'm sick once and my boss knows I'm pg but not sure wither I can face it today...

moonshine25 · 10/06/2015 08:35

I'm exactly the same as you manatee! I could just sleep and sleep!

Oh no poor you mrs! That sounds terrible...don't go into work if you can't face it, you'll probably regret it when you get there. Does your sickness tend to last all day?

SleepyDragon · 10/06/2015 08:36

Morning ladies

coffee remember to drink loads of water, it plumps your veins for the blood test.

I depressed myself this morning, i put a dress and leggings on for work and realised i looked like a whale... not a pregnant one in a nice way but just a general whale and there was no way i could hide any weight gain from the criticising eye of my colleagues (they are bitchy as hell) so i put my slightly tight jeans and a swing vest back on again. DH was nice and said its a baby bump not fat and i look lovely but the mirror says whale! Sad

On a similar crappy note - are anyone else's nails splitting/layering like mad?

if i go by my app i am 8+6 today if i go by my booking test i am 9wk today, either way i'm only feeling nauseaous every now and again and have no sore boobs, or anything else anymore. Although i did feel a really weird almost 'buzzing' sensation in my whol tummy last night - was very weird!!!

mrschatty · 10/06/2015 08:39

moon yeah it comes and goes through the day usually I feel better when I eat but today I feel like I'm on the waltzers...going to try again to get dressed.
sleepy my nails are disgusting a girl at work said pregnancy does have that affect x

Hopefulnewbie · 10/06/2015 08:56

morning ladies
Hope everyone is doing well
I had my early scan yesterday evening (private scan just to put my mind at rest), I don’t have my booking in app until next week so im sure the nhs scan is a while away yet
I was so nervous as I don’t have loads of symptoms and I made it worse spending hours on google … but there was a little pea there with a heartbeat, so relived I didn’t hear anything the lady said to be after that only that it was 15.2mm (im 8weeks today) - how am I so bloated when its that tiny! lol

mrschatty · 10/06/2015 08:57

hopeful that's great I have my early scan on Sunday ill be 10 weeks on Monday so FX for me!

SleepyDragon · 10/06/2015 09:08

MrsChatty bloody annoying isn't it, i spent ages getting my nails into a really good condition for my wedding last November and its all ruined LOL (for a bloody good reason though i must admitWink )

peppercorn28 · 10/06/2015 09:12

Hello - I'm a grad of the April antenatal group and now have my 7-wk-old baby! I've started a blog and just wrote about "the worst pregnancy advice you've ever been given".- got lots of hideous and hilarious things people have told pregnant people and wanted to share in case you can relate or having anything to add! x
runoutofwomb.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/when-you-want-to-shove-their-pregnancy.html

babybabynamechange · 10/06/2015 09:14

I don't know if this will help anyone because I know everyone is different but my nausea is really helped by just drinking water. When I'm having a really nauseous day I drink pints and pints of the stuff and it really helps settle my stomach - I must have had 5 pints of water on Monday which as my most nauseous day, after each 1/2 pint I felt ok again for an hour or so - I even woke up for a pint of water in the night!

horseylady · 10/06/2015 09:32

brickie I declined the NT as it only gives you a risk factor. Would you have an amnio? I wouldn't, therefore no point in the bloods. They check soft markers at the 20w anomaly scan anyway.

coffeenut · 10/06/2015 09:34

Argh my biggest preg symptom at the moment is finding my MIL intolerable.

She looks after DD2 for a few hours most Thursdays. DD2 has been unwell (had terrible virus last week and is still coughing and sneezing) and I told her that. Despite this, she wants to either invite people over to my place for lunch (her family who happening to be visiting the area) or take DD2 for a 2 hr drive to see them tomorrow. She actually has no idea how long they will be in town (I asked whether she could catch up with them on the weekend) - so apparently prioritizes catching up with them over spending some time with DD2. Fine. So don't come over tomorrow and see them instead, just don't try to make me host them or drag DD2 all over the city to see them. So cross. I do not want to have to clean up my house as I'm exhausted, I have a shed-load of stuff otherwise to do tomorrow as it is (including having the harmony bloods done!). Tempted just to get DH to tell her I'm pregnant so she backs off!

coffeenut · 10/06/2015 09:37

sorry that was all about me!

Good luck today brickie and haquoi. haquoi did I read your post right, and did you lose a DC?

Thanks for the tip sleepy Smile.

mrschatty · 10/06/2015 09:40

pepper ill have a read of your blog- I've not really had any bad advice yet because not everyone knows yet but I'm sure I'll have plenty of Hmm episodes before my time is up

kep1979 · 10/06/2015 10:23

So sorry wombat - I hope you are looking after yourself and have support irl.

Gl for today brickie, coffee and haquoi, and glad the scan went well hopeful

mrschatty sounds like you deserve a duvet day! I hope you feel better soon.

sleepy my nails have been rubbish too. I normally have really weak bendy nails anyway, and they are now all flakey. I shellac them myself, but they are still peeling - I thought we were supposed to get amazing nails and hair whilst pregnant??

My overwhelming tiredness has been back the last couple of days and feeling quite antisocial. We are supposed to be going to a gig on Friday night and then down to Cornwall for the weekend for a family party. I wish I was having a quiet weekend.

loveulotslikejellytots · 10/06/2015 10:45

Coffee - I've noticed my tolerance levels are a lot lower than normal. I get on really well with MIL normally. She is lovely. But since we told the in laws, mil rings me or emails me every day asking me if my symptoms have changed, are my boobs still sore, still getting the nausea???? I'm a very private person, I haven't even told my mum this level of detail, only DH. Now her next thing is bugging me about appointment dates and times and scan dates and times. She always signs off with, let me know when you hear... Why??? Why would I want you to know exactly when it is?? I've not said any of that to her, I'm being really mean thinking these things. But for christ sakes, let me have some privacy over my bloody body! I'm only 10 weeks and it's like I'm public property already Hmm. I think I need to speak to DH about it, he can act as a bit of a buffer until my hormones settle down.

kep1979 · 10/06/2015 10:58

loveulots and coffee I am also feeling extremely intolerant. We are living with the in-laws at the moment and have been since our house sale in November (aarrgghhh) and will be there until we move at the end of July. I am finding it VERY difficult, especially as my BIL is back from uni too - so a crammed house, no space, and full of irritations!

MIL is trying to make sure I eat the right thing, and has been good about not making me meat stuff - but she made me a lentil pasta bake without asking my thoughts on pasta (bleurgh) so I tried to eat it and then gave up and hid the incriminating leftovers! So now she has texted me to see how it was, saying she made it especially and wanted to check I liked it. Not sure how to reply!

mrschatty · 10/06/2015 10:59

Aw loveulots my MIL text me one time asking how I was and I thought that was really sweet...that was about 3 weeks ago since then nothing- even when I went round to see her last week no mention- something in between mine and yours would be nice!

haquoi123 · 10/06/2015 11:03

Thanks for the good luck moonshine and coffee and everyone.

There was a gestational sac but too small to see anything else. She put me back 2 weeks to 5 1/2 weeks instead of 7, so we've got to go back. Think edd is now in February possibly but who knows! Other than that everything seems fine, so fx.

coffee, yes my ds was born at 19 weeks in September, so I'm a high risk this time. We don't really know what happened (complicated by being out of the county when he was born) so they're keeping an eye on me.

jmac88 · 10/06/2015 11:08

I've got three words for you ladies:

CHEESE, TOMATO, CROISSANT.

One of these bad boys saved my life this morning!

EdgarAllenPoe · 10/06/2015 11:15

I'm so tired but I think anyone would be in my situation. Every evening this week after a full day at work I've been doing DIY, cleaning up the mess, moving furniture. I've only had the pregnancy tiredness where you need to sleep immediately a few times, but I'm just generally knackered from life at the moment.

No-one in the family knows, and I can't wait to tell them because I suspect they'll come and help us get this DIY done sooner and I can put my feet up. But we're not telling until after the first scan, and I still haven't had my booking in appointment date confirmed (I'm 9+3 now), so the scan feels a long way off.

loveulotslikejellytots · 10/06/2015 11:20

Aw kep1979 that's sweet but I know what you mean. DH did me some breakfast the other morning, I really couldn't eat it. He hasn't done it since! Grin

Mrs chatty, yes somewhere in the middle would be lovely!!

Jmac88 - that sounds amazing!!! I'm planning lasagne for dinner but now I just want this!

loveulotslikejellytots · 10/06/2015 11:21

Edgar I can't imagine doing all of that while being pregnant. It will make me stop moaning though, if you can crack on while doing all that I can carry on with what I've got to do without feeling sorry for myself!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 10/06/2015 11:25

kep1979 - You mentioned cloth nappies a couple of pages back, which I would also plan to use, at very least while breastfeeding. Although actually I want to use the old fashioned flat nappies (so squares of cloth that you fold, held together with modern grips with a cover over it).

I'm really glad someone else has mentioned it as well!

We don't have a drier, or a washing line, and there ain't much sunshine in february - it would take weeks for all in one re-usable nappies to dry in our apartment, and I'm buggered if I'm going to the launderette to do it with a bambino in tow. Lots of the covers for flats (mother ease air flow or something is very popular) are basically rinse/wipe clean, so are super easy to clean.

I think figuring out how you will dry the re-usable nappies is one of the biggest deciding factors in which system you will go for. Later on I was thinking I could use flats with disposable/flushable liners.

It makes me so angry that so many people just throw used nappies full of actual shit into the bin.
