waiting I'm so sorry to hear your news, thinking of you and sending you a hug.

baby I saw my two heart beats a week ago at an early scan, both the same size which wasn't a massive shock because we had fertility treatment. This is my first pregnancy, so trying to absorb everything pregnancy related as well as twin related. I'm sure you little ones. Will be fine, so many twins must be conceived days apart.

I'm having very mixed symptoms, only thrown up once this week, but really struggled the week before. I know I'm not eating enough and really trying to force myself. DH thinks I have a small bump now, I'm not convinced it's not just bloating! Glad your feeling well though, I'm counting down the days till I can 100% enjoy this rather than feeling crappy or worrying about vanishing twins Sad

mrschatty · 09/06/2015 18:54

I would just LOVE to hear I'm having twins on Sunday when I have my early scan ill be keeping my FX!
waiting thinking of you Flowers

crumble74 · 09/06/2015 18:56

So sorry to hear wombat. Please take care of yourself.

crumble74 · 09/06/2015 19:00

Congrats on the great scan fizzy and hi to all the newbies!

I hope my previous post about my breastfeeding troubles hasn't annoyed anyone. Despite all that I'll still BF (or try) to BF this baby as I do believe it's the best start for them. Colostrum is amazing stuff. I'll just know to be kinder to myself should it not work out. Smile

mrschatty · 09/06/2015 19:07

fizzy congrats on the great scan!

impatientlywaiting · 09/06/2015 20:17

Wombat I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Look after yourself.

Welcome to the newbies, glad you've joined us. Babybaby I think I might have commented on a thread of yours this afternoon. Massive congratulations on the twins.

Crumble I don't think you could have offended anyone. It's good for people to hear about s range of experiences. Who knows what is around the corner. I think my ease with BF was main down to DS having a good latch from the start. Heard of lots of people who sailed through BFing With no.1, only to struggle with number 2.

Tonicandgin · 09/06/2015 20:21

Sorry to hear you news Wombat. Look after yourself x

OTheHugeManatee · 09/06/2015 20:23

Hi to all the newbies be congratulations to the twins!

Anyone else find the nausea is worse when out and about than when at home? I'm lucky that I can work from home quite a lot and have mostly been ok with the nausea. But I've also really noticed that if I have to go into London for meetings those days are way worse for feeling sicky. Today was grim though I didn't actually hurl thank God. I had lunch with a lovely friend, ex work colleague from a previous role who's also pg, had a great time talking baby names, then felt foul afterwards walking back to work. Thankfully friend had a pack of Polos, I think they saved me from decorating the City with my lunch Shock

So glad to be heading home now!

ValancyJane · 09/06/2015 20:49

Wombat I'm really sorry to hear that, take care of yourself :(

ValancyJane · 09/06/2015 20:57

Fizzy Glad to hear the scan went well, was thinking of you today :)

Wow babybaby congratulations on the twins, how exciting!

Manatee Aww, poor you today. I'm finding it's a little bit worse at home - I think at work I'm kept busy which helps. Though the drive to and from work makes me feel really ill. I hear you on the mints, tic tacs are a food group to me at the moment!

I've been feeling absolutely hideous this week with nausea and tiredness; OH has been pretty much dragging me out of bed, then am feeling shitty at work, then I'm coming home and falling asleep for two hours, then waking up and feeling so groggy and rubbish that I'm not up to doing anything!! OH has been a star doing most of the housework, a load of my laundry, cooking etc, I just feel utterly useless this week. Had a bit of a cry about it earlier, I just feel a bit pathetic!

OTheHugeManatee · 09/06/2015 21:14

I feel your pain Valancy! I'm coping I'm with the nausea on the whole, but the tiredness does my nut in. I just feel so useless Confused Thankfully DH is being very sweet and just reassures me that my body is busy and to rest if I have to but I'm usually quite active and find it so frustrating feeling limited in what I can get done in a day.

horseylady · 09/06/2015 21:20

Hello ladies!!

Barely posted been very busy. Interesting discussion re: breast feeding. DS never breast fed. Screamed at my breast. Horrible physical treatment from mw and HCAs. Apparently by breasts were the wrong shape and my nipples flat. Wonderful. After a very traumatic birth I was desperate to bf and I think (looking back) I was incredibly depressed at ff. And I suffered with PND.

Anyway, I might be offered ELCS this time so would be Dec baby. Scan and consultant appointment next week.

Blimeygirl · 09/06/2015 21:35

So sorry wombat.

Well my boss nearly made me cry today (for a lovely reason combined with hormones!) as we were out for one of my charges birthday tea. One of the other dads asked which of the children was mine, I jokingly looked at dad boss and said "do I say none or three?!)" he replied for me and said " she hasn't given birth to any of them but these three are!" Isn't that really nice?!

BeeMyBaby · 09/06/2015 22:00

kep I'm pondering using cloth nappies this time round - do you know roughly have many are required? I saw bundles with about 20 nappies, does that sound the right amount?

Re bfing, I struggled with both dds and mixed fed for the first two weeks (delayed milk production causing over 10% weight loss) then once I got the hang of it I continued 10 months for dd1 and 2 years for dd2. I found it initially was definitely the much harder option but DH and DM are incredibly pro breastfeeding so I had to push through.

ValancyJane · 09/06/2015 22:25

Manatee We're definitely in the same boat, my OH keeps saying similar things but like you I just feel so blooming useless. I think what's getting to me a bit now (and I am throwing a bit of a pity party here!) is that my evenings are so rubbish at the moment - haven't been able to concentrate on the box set we're ploughing through at the moment or on any hobbies, so all I'm doing is sleeping and watching truly trashy TV! Which sounds nice, but I want my energy back!!

mrsfazruns · 09/06/2015 22:40

Sorry to hear of your loss waiting!! Hope you have lots of love and support around you!!

I didn't BF my DH because I was so young (and returned to school after 4 weeks of giving birth) so I am super excited to try this time!! I have two friends who both have 6 months old and they make t look so easy .... Hope it goes the same here!!

I'm 9+3 today and the bloating is insane!! 3 different people said to me that "they can't believe I'm showing already" ..... I look 6 months!!!

fishermanswife1 · 09/06/2015 22:42

So sorry wombat. Look after yourself

fishermanswife1 · 09/06/2015 22:56

Same here fazruns. 9+5 and feel like it's obvious, though we haven't told anyone but parents.
I was trying to tell myself I was just being self conscious, but it looks like my Belly bloat may have given me away to my Nan already who suspects and keeps looking at it despite no hint from us!

Anyone else finding the bloat quite painful sometimes? Pharmacist has recommended paracetamol and Wind Settlers. The glamorous side of pregnancy hey?!

mrsfazruns · 09/06/2015 23:01

fishermanswife I was talking about the bloat pain today and my friend who's 3 weeks In front me said "do you feel like you have a football squeezed into your bladder" .... She couldnt have described it better!!!

coffeenut · 09/06/2015 23:14

So sorry wombat Sad Thinking of you.

I'm 10 weeks today, feels like a milestone. Harmony bloods taken tomorrow. Eep. Does anyone know if it's a lot of blood that is taken? I'm really useless with blood tests. Needles don't like my veins.

Chip86 · 09/06/2015 23:20

Sorry for your loss wombat

With DD I bf your a year, she did not like the taste to start with, I did not feed her while I was in hospital for 3 days because I kept being told she was fine got home and new something was wrong went and bought formula she drank 9onz poor soul. Then I had to relearn how to latch because my flow was so fast. but eventually it all settled down and I enjoyed it, then she got teeth hehehe. DH has a really good bond with DD because I just fed and slept, he dressed her, changed her, bathed her, played with her, cuddled her while she slept. Then he had to teach me how to do all those things hehehe x

brickiemum2 · 10/06/2015 07:07

I'm off to my booking in appointment today. Main thing I want to discuss with mw is either it's worth having the nuchal testing. If it would show up other trisomys like Edwards then I would do it. If it would only show up downs then there's no point. My age is going to bump me up the risk factor for that anyway and I wouldn't have an amnio for it so it's pointless.
It's at 10am so even if I'm taken on time I won't get out until 11am and it'll take me an hour to get back to work on the bus. If I'm taken late it will obviously be even later when I get back. I only work until 2pm. I don't think they are very pleased by this Hmm

haquoi123 · 10/06/2015 07:31

Best of luck brickie! I'm the same about testing - we didn't test ds at all as we would have him anyway regardless of downs or disability. Our only proviso was that it wouldn't benefit us more than him for him to be alive, so no short life in agony etc. As it was, he didn't make it, which made me reconsider the testing this time. But DH and I had the same conversation and have gone the same way. Let us know what they say.

I've got my early scan today, absolutely bricking it, but also excited, but also trying not to get my hopes up.

crumble74 · 10/06/2015 07:44

Looks like we'll be taking a similar route horsey, I am pretty sure I'll have a December baby with an ELCS, although would like to avoid Christmas!

Good luck with the Harmony bloods coffee. Let us know how you get on, I have mine in 12 days.

Hope the booking in appt goes well brickie. I was 39 at my last NT scan (Oscar) and even though age would have put up my risk a lot higher it still came back with a relatively low result due to the scan results so the scan itself can be very reassuring.

moonshine25 · 10/06/2015 07:48

Best of luck for today haquoi! Will be thinking of you.

Is anyone else's biggest symptom tiredness? I'm just so tired all the time and just can't seem to find the energy to do anything! I know I'm so lucky not to have actual morning sickness though and that I shouldn't complain.
