Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 29th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 47th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: stats

Hello worrying viroids! Totally normal to worry - all I can say is try to keep positive, worrying won't change result either way although very hard not to in first trimester and 2nd and 3rd

It's normal for symptoms to come and go and also not to have strong symptoms til further in first tri. Try to keep yourselves busy in the meantime, when sickness hits oh my god it hits! Then you'll be lying on sofa wiped out and feeling horrendous.

Hooray for lovely scan news pud!

Jelly it really does depend - it's possible to see pole and hb that early but not guaranteed. Fx yours will be the first Grin

I am v short of breath today, boobs and bra are pressing down on bump and don't think lungs have much room. Think I'll see if I can wfh this afternoon so I can wear pjs.

Just occurred to me I'm having a baby next month. Weird. 44 days til due date

Yay, big scan day. Good luck to you all.

Shortness of breath here too la, going to mention it to midwife on Friday actually as it's even when sitting/laying down doing sod all! Hope you get a new charger soon - naked without my phone!

You three must have proper comfy wombs over there tee, before an cym!

Keep calm pretzel. Nausea isn't constant normally and will come and go.

Oh no fleur, that's awful. Do you have a director or anything you can go to over the managers head? Hope the hospital is more positive at least.

I am afraid to report that I am falling into the anxiety pit again, I can feel it. I have been good the last few weeks after a rocky middle bit but waking up to discover it was June and only having 19 days left at work as tipped me over the edge a bit. Plus I am having to do this stupid personality test thing for our team away day so I am having to be all self-aware and consider my style which I am never good at at the best of times! I want to hibernate, but only when all the work is done!

pretzelpieces · 01/06/2015 11:37

Thanks la and dulcet - the nausea has been so strong and constant that it felt so weird to have it completely go away for a few hours. But I definitely need to stay more chill if possible.

It's back now and DP says 'yay!' every time I tell him I feel sick now because I said feeling sick sort of reassures me (I know there's no logical basis to that!). So I gently punched him in the ball Wink

fleur and dulcet so sorry things are stressful. I guess it's a case of counting down those work days now. Thanks

Fleurchamp · 01/06/2015 11:52

Unfortunately dulcet my boss is the owner of the company Hmm

My anxiety levels are through the roof and there has just been an actual fight in the hospital waiting room Blush

I live in a nice area, honest!

Cymraes17 · 01/06/2015 11:57

Fleur that is rubbish. Isnt there anyone else who can help? Especially as your bos lady is on the board, is it not in her intrest that the work is done?
Dulcet, hope yore not too stressed out.
Mw called earlier, to check up on me. She's going to pop round this afternoon to check bp and urine after i told her about the swelling. Ive been drinking loads of water this morning, and the sample ive got looks like tap water. May try again before she cones over! Swelling has gone down, but im not doing anything at all totally not watching charmed, my guilty pleasure, even thoung I know their target is the male audience

Fleurchamp · 01/06/2015 12:22

So, no shiny birth centre for me Sad so pissed off.

First consultant said it would be fine to use birth centre if fibroid stayed the same/ shrunk. This one said no way and I will need to be in delivery ward and monitored.

Cue floods of tears and one awkward looking consultant.

Not a good day to be given this news. I just want to sit at home and eat cake Sad

DH missed appt too because of work (fair enough, it's his first day back) and won't stop ringing me to find out how I got on. I gave him brief details and asked that we speak tonight as I cannot speak at work.

He keeps ringing FFS.

Jcandy · 01/06/2015 12:33

Yay pud glad it went well!

Oh fleur that's not good, is there anyway you can get a second opinion? And definitely get signed off if it's stressing you out, you don't need that from your manager!

So my scan all went beautifully Smile I'm
12+1 today so my edd is 13th December. I'll post a pic on facebook

batfish · 01/06/2015 12:43

jelly you might do, I saw/heard heartbeat at 5+5 but it's totally normal not to at that stage so if there isn't much going on then absolutely nothing to worry about! I wasn't expecting to at all. How exciting that you don't have too long to wait!

Sorry to hear about your horrible day fleur - your boss sounds like a nasty witch.

batfish · 01/06/2015 12:44

Woohoo jc awesome news about the scan!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 01/06/2015 12:57

yorkshire that's amazing news!!! Was it your first scan You must feel such a massive sense of relief to finally get to see mini yorkshire!

fleur - I'm sorry you're having such a shit day. It's totally unacceptable that she didn't both to check those drafts (I'm assuming you told her about it but seems like an obvious point!).

Maybe send her a very polite email about it, outlying what you had done, and the consequences of the emails going out two weeks later than intended, asking what had happened, and what can be done to avoid this being repeated. And lovingly copying in someone from HR and someone further up the chain of hierarchy if you're brave enough. If not, just keep a hard copy in case you need to whip it out in future.

Try not to stress out too much. Just do what you can at work without exhausting yourself. If it doesn't get done, it doesn't get done. Just make sure you've got a written record of what you didn't do as well as what you did do! It's a bit of a faff but covers your arse!!!

As for the birthing centre, I know it must be a big disappointment if you had your heart set on it, but surely it is better to be safe than sorry?

goodnessgraciousgouda · 01/06/2015 12:58

jcandy and congratulations on your scan as well!! Wow, so many scans at the moment!! I am very jealous!!!

teejayem · 01/06/2015 13:18

Ooh, some festive babies! Congratulations jcandy amd yorkshire

Fleur, fuck off work, honestly. It sounds dreadful, it sounds like you're massively being taken advantage of, I would absolutely get signed off and she can stick it up her arse, along with nose job.

Wrt the birthing centre, I understand that some hospitals will compromise a bit if you can present a good pro/con to them. Is the birth unit actually in the hospital, or is it a distance away? You could ask to labour at the unit and potentially deliver in the ward? what facilities does the ward have? There's a Which? Comparison site which is quite useful, (which.co.uk/birth-choice) and you can see what the birth centre has that the ward won't. For example, I really had my heart set on a water birth at the MLU to start with but I'm high risk and not allowed, so I asked about the ward and each room has an en suite with a big bath, so I will (hopefully) be able to at least spend some time splashing about. With monitoring, they can't force you to be strapped to a bed, remember it's your body ultimately, so maybe there's compromise to be had there too? Don't know if it helps, sending virtual eclairs for you xx

Purpleball · 01/06/2015 13:26

Hurray for good scans.

Fleur. Repeat after me. Not my circus, not my monkeys. Ad nauseum
You have to stop caring so much. If she's the big boss and doesn't care then you shouldn't either. I know it's easier said than done. I have the same problems. My anxiety was out of control for a while. This isn't good for you or baby. If you can't detach then I'd go off sick.
Dulcet I totally get the anxiety too.
Do you need a mantra as well?
I have to keep having a word with myself.
You can always rant here if it helpsSmile

DulcetMoans · 01/06/2015 13:42

I hope you've not gone back to work fluer, go home and eat cake like you said. Work can wait. Can you get a second opinion? Since someone else already said you could use the birth centre.

Thanks purple, what mantra are you offering? Here is what someone sent me at work, if anyone is anxious about work. Although realise not everyone is a nutcase like me!

Is charmed aimed at men cym?! I've only seen it a few times but thought it was a bit girly. Hope there's nothing too bad in the wee sample! Will it be a pre-ecampsia check? I think they do that with swelling.

"Imagine life as a game in which you are jugging five balls in the air. They are Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you're keeping all of these in the air.

You will soon understand that Work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - Family, Health, Friends and Spirit - are made of glass. Of you drop one of these they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it"

Value has value only if its value is valued.

Now you may read that as nonsense but, at the time, it made me feel better. Not so much today!

I found two grey hairs in the mirror as well. That mirror dulcet is aging me!

Fleurchamp · 01/06/2015 13:46

Thanks ladies, feeling better already.

I am going to look round the labour ward on Wednesday which should hopefully help. The thing is, I have a huge fear of hospitals and anything medical and was really hoping for the least medical birth I could get.

The MLU and delivery ward are in the same hospital, just different floors. The consultant has booked me in again to discuss at 38 weeks. He basically said, I can try MLU but the midwife in charge would probably send me to labour ward anyway as they wouldn't want the risk.

They have known about the fibroid since 12 weeks and this is the first time that PPH/ monitoring and non MLU birth has been mentioned.

Having spoken to the consultant I can see why the labour ward is preferred and it does make sense. I am being a wuss.

I am engineering it so that I do not see my boss at all this week. I have decided I am going to go a week early. I can self certify for 5 days, the office manager will not be clued up enough to start mat leave early.

F*ck 'em!

Cymraes17 · 01/06/2015 14:20

Mw has been. Bp is ok, urine is clear. Its normal swelling, so I need to slow down even more.
Dulcet, I always thought charmed was for men, mainly because of skimpy clothing, attractive women and mindless plot! But for some reason I quite like watching it.
Have started on cleaning the bathroom, given it a goid wipe down, only vacuming and a good mop to go, the rest of the house looks like a massive bomb has landed, but do I care enough?....

teejayem · 01/06/2015 14:22

Woohoo fleur fuck 'em!

jellypi3 · 01/06/2015 14:45

ah man charmed, i was obsessed with that programme (and had a major crush on one of the characters for a long time)

pretzelpieces · 01/06/2015 15:02

Hooray for a good scan jc!

May I join the Facebook group? How do I do that? Grin would love to see scan pics etc

PixieChops · 01/06/2015 15:10

Good for you Fleur! Fuck work, I ended up with Generalised Anxiety Disorder at mine when I was pregnant and nobody gave a shit. Suppose it was all the times I was telling an 87 year old man that nobody gave a shit that he was cold (we'd fucked up his boiler) and that someone higher than me would ring him back (they never did) apparently they owe him about 20k and haven't bothered to pay him back yet. This happened a year ago. Bunch of horrible cunts!

Dulcet sit down! Easier said than done I know. I've not started swelling anywhere but I cried again this afternoon. Went for a walk with the local NCT group which would've been lovely if DD wouldn't have howled and been a pest the whole way round. Only to get to the cafe for her to continue being a nuisance- she threw her sandwiches on the floor, her dummy on the floor, her drink on the floor, her toys on the floor... In the end I packed our things up and left leaving a scone and hot cup of tea as I just couldn't hack it anymore. In a huge amount of pain with my back so dumped DD in cot and she fell asleep straight away and I've just woken from a nap too. She's still asleep but I need to get her up so I can go and do the round 40 mile trip of picking up DP from work Hmm

Lookingforadvice123 · 01/06/2015 15:39

Great news pud and jc! Can I join the Facebook group too?

Had my early scan at the EPAU, had to wait for an hour so my bladder was so full it hurt and the sonographer couldn't see everything she wanted to so I had to half empty it, challenging! Other than that it was a bit underwhelming, at the private scan on Thursday I was measured as 8+1 and today I was 8+4, I was worried about this as really I should've been 8+5 but the sonographer said because the baby is so small it's hard to get an exact measurement so as long as it was roughly the same its fine. This still worries me immensely though. Think I need a hooya, do we give those out on the grasds thread?

Lookingforadvice123 · 01/06/2015 15:40

Oops pressed post too soon. We did see the little heart flickering away in the chest bit though so that was great.

pud / jc, did you get to see much at your scans today? The screen was turned away from me almost the whole time today!

jellypi3 · 01/06/2015 15:52

looking try not to worry, i'm sure 1 day isn't a big difference. Congrats on the heart beat though :)

How did you viroids further along deal with the bone weary tiredness in the early stages. All I want to do is lie down and sleep, it's ridiculous.

PixieChops · 01/06/2015 17:04

Jelly it does get easier in 2nd trim but then when you start coming to the end of the third you'll feel like you've been hit by a train every day. I'm exhausted, I had a nap this afternoon and I tried to wake up at about 2pm and couldn't even open my eyes so ended up sleeping for another hour. It's fair to say I'm seriously struggling at the moment and feeling down in the dumps.
