Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 29th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 47th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: stats

La I think that's a fab idea. If anyone asks, we are team purple GrinGrin

Purpleball · 29/05/2015 16:58

I'm now wondering if we bought too many nappies. We've got size 1 and 2 which goes up to 13lbs. I'm sure they will exchange them if we have a giant baby.

How many nappies do babies use per day? I'm sure I heard 12 from a newborn. They can't continue at that rate though surely.

Pisghetti · 29/05/2015 17:05

You'll need more than you think.... On a good day we'll use 6-8. But pretty often I'll change her and as I'm walking out of the nursery she'll fill her nice fresh nappy and we start again....

jellypi3 · 29/05/2015 17:25

Yay for a good scan purple but lol at your naughty baby already! Cheeky one in the making there!

I'm so bloated today. I did pig half a tube of fruit pastels and then regret it when I felt like chundering straight after. Can't wait for nausea not

gaggiagirl · 29/05/2015 17:37

Pictures please of the scan purple!

PixieChops · 29/05/2015 18:02

Congrats on your scan and shopping Purple! Successful day for you Smile

Me and DD went for a sing song at the local library this morning... Not just in the middle of the library on our own, there was a rhyme time on lol.
Then went for an early lunch/ second breakfast with the mums from my antenatal group. XDD is still a bit hit and miss mood wise and she had a 2 1/2 hour nap this afternoon. She's been playing nicely since, just her leg looks really sore where the injection site is. It's all red and there's a really hard 2p sized lump .?? hoping it settles down soon.

ZylaB · 29/05/2015 18:08

H still uses about 15 nappies a day, she won't tolerate even a slight dampness...I think she's got shares in pampers!

pretzelpieces · 29/05/2015 18:22

jelly I already feel nauseous! Started last week and stepped up a notch today. Ginger tea is helping Smile

I'm now panicking about if it's okay to drink ginger and turmeric tea. It is, right?! sorry for being a paranoid new preggo

Loving team purple, purple! Grin

PixieChops · 29/05/2015 18:29

Think we went through mountains of nappies when Dd was first born. We've got about 2 packs of size 1s for new baby. DD probably gets through about 4-5 a day now, she only poos about once and then the rest is just if she's a bit wet .
Congrats on your BFP Pretzel and welcome! Smile We were all in your shoes at some point so ask as many questions as you want, that's what we are here for.

mountaingirl01 · 29/05/2015 18:30

Congratulations pretzel!

purple I'm so pleased everything is ok although jealous you get so many scans how annoying to 'think' she saw something!

I really really want fruit pastilles now..

Hobbit19 · 29/05/2015 18:37

Pretzel I'm sure your tea is fine. Have a look on the NHS website for guidelines for eating/drinking whilst upduffed. Remember they are guidelines, not the actual law. DH thinks they are the law To quote another MNer 'you will be fine, just don't eat cat turds' which I thought put things into perspective!

Viroids tell me that the ridiculous exhaustion/feeling shite gets better soon. I could cry I feel so rubbish, and I am boring myself by doing nothing all day because I feel so completely pants. Sad

PixieChops · 29/05/2015 18:43

The ginger is fine pretzel but maybe lay off the tumeric for the first trimester as its not recommended due to it maybe causing contractions in the womb. I think as long as you're not drinking it 24/7 all day every day you should be fine having the odd cup. Just check with your midwife when you have your appointment.
Ginger is excellent for soothing morning sickness and is good for you so carry on with that .

pretzelpieces · 29/05/2015 18:44

Aw thanks for the warm welcome lovely viroids.

Ah cheers pud that's useful, will educate myself Grin ...it says up to 4 cups of herbal tea a day so that's good. My DP is clueless. He didn't know what folic acid was and today was shocked when I mentioned I can't eat dippy eggs. I'll have to keep an eye on what he tries to feed me!

pretzelpieces · 29/05/2015 18:45

Ah thanks pixie Smile

Purpleball · 29/05/2015 18:51

Ga we didn't get a pic Hmm
I'll get one next time

Mountain I know, it's a pain being at the hospital all the time, not mention expensive for parking! But the extra scans do make up for it

We've deliberated for the whole pregnancy about whether to find out so its Sod's law that we then couldn't get a definite answer when we decided to ask!

Purpleball · 29/05/2015 18:51

Pretzel my midwife said runny yolks are fine as long as the eggs are lion stamped.

Purpleball · 29/05/2015 18:53

Thanks for the nappy advice. I think we have enough to be going on with. I've got 3 packs of size 1 and 3 packs of size 2. The size 2 have a lot more in them though.
it's not like we don't have shops round here

teejayem · 29/05/2015 18:58

My foof aches :( I'm sure he's head butting it but it isn't dooooooooing anything.

Managed to get some more eclairs. I've branched out to some apple turnovers as well! Saucy!
Right, I've got dibs on takeout tonight, do I go for nandos or pizza? It won't be for a while yet, Mr tee is still in town on work jolly so I am trying to not nap after last nights cruddy sleep.

pretzel I'm not suggesting what I did was right, but I looked at the whole food thing as a bit of 'everything in moderation' (have a read of expecting better, it's quite good). I have had the occasional sushi, rare steak, smear of pate, glass of wine, still had my proper caffinated team didn't measure out squares of chocolate etc. I've just not gone there with the stinky cheeses, but I don't really like them anyway. I just didn't see the point of depriving myself when there was barely anything I wanted to eat anyway. Each to their own though, and some choose to avoid the stuff on the food list plus deli meat, bagged salad, all shellfish etc, and that's fine too, but personally I didn't worry about it too much. Which is really easy for me to say when I'm about to pop!

pud I started feeling less like a smashed crab around the 14 week mark... Hang in there...the tiredness is horrid, but your body is working very hard to make your tiny human!

teejayem · 29/05/2015 18:59

*caffinated tea, not team. Basically as long as you aren't mainlining a mixture of vodka and crack I think you can carry on with regular teabags!

mountaingirl01 · 29/05/2015 19:10

pretzel I echo tee I've still eaten eggs (from our neighbours chickens) and had all sorts of cheese in the first trip (before I started feeling sick at the smell of it). I have given up caffienated drinks but definitely not measured chocolate! Didn't know about the tumeric... Oops. Stayed with the in laws this weekend and they totally didn't get it, tried to feed me raw fish and pate (both of which made me heave) and found it hilarious that I've given up wine Hmm

BeforeIChangeMyMind · 29/05/2015 19:24

Hi Pretzel, welcome.

I also did a bit of picking and choosing around the food guidelines. I've barely touched alcohol (glass on Christmas Day) but have eaten soft eggs (lion stamped) and unpasteurised cheese - I refused to be threatened by a block of Parmesan!

Grin at vodka and crack Tee

You may be onto something Dulcet. I am feeling decidedly odd tonight, like there is a storm brewing. Few cramps and things, nothing major, but I have had to come and be by myself. We've made the spare room into a sort of "labour nest" for me and I've been wanting to spend more and more time in here. I am worried about childcare for DS tho. My lovely childminder is around from Sun so - even tho there's a perfectly good plan B with a kind friend - subconsciously I may be waiting for her.

Hope you've had a good revision day after all bat. And yay for team purple. We got 80% boy when we asked, so there is still an element of surprise...

jellypi3 · 29/05/2015 19:27

I've been quite good with the rules, avoided shellfish, only had 1 tea a day, no rare steak. But I don't think it will last long.

One thing I'm ok not having is booze, I'm not a big drinker anyway

teejayem · 29/05/2015 19:47

before the Parmesan threat is making me laugh, like its holding a pointy weapon or something. Nobody needs aggressive cheese.

ChatEnOeuf · 29/05/2015 20:01

We signed up for cord blood donation - you can still do delayed clamping and donate (or stash it yourself) apparently.

Despite the decades of cat ownership and probably over 100 rare steaks, I'm still toxo negative, it's pretty rare...I avoided the unpasteurised cheese/shellfish/pate combo but allowed myself tiny bits of high calibre wine when I felt like it. Caffeine I never got over the daily suggested maximum before I was pregnant so didn't start worrying about it afterwards.

I once got a papercut from a block of parmesan, no lie.

teejayem · 29/05/2015 20:17

The bastard chat! I hope you showed it the rough edge of the grater.
