November 2015 ladies! Time to feel the glow!

Are you expecting a babe in November this year? If so, get ready to get glowing. Breaking out in spots, or tears, or both is part of the so called glow. Feeling sick, contemplating births and having the odd good day of eating well is also all glow.

Come on then. Wee in the corner to mark your spot. Have some Brew or Cake or Wine. Then glow.

Not been on here for a while - couldn't find the thread and couldn't remeber my log in. Baby brain!? Just marking place so i can catch up :)

TwoBeesInTheHive · 10/06/2015 14:57

cupcake I have low PAPP A too and my 16w appointment is tomorrow. Im not too worried about it at the moment, after googling lots of ladies with this do go on to have complication-free pregnancies, and if it is going to be a cause for concern it wont be til the third trimester, and they keep a good eye on you. My friend has also recently been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and she doesnt have to have insulin injections, she is just on a special diet. Doesnt sound like they did a very good job of explaining things to you! Try not to worry too much. Easier said than done I know!xx

cupcakesam84 · 10/06/2015 15:07

Thanks twobees! It's a lot of if's & maybe's anyway at the moment so I'm clinging to the fact it's not definitely going to affect anything! Plus, as you said, there's loads of women who had no complications with it at all! Smile
I rang & spoke to a midwife, although she said there isn't much she could advise me on without my notes.
If I was super rich I would definitely hire a private personal midwife lol ! Xx

ChicBabyP · 10/06/2015 15:28

cupcake so sorry you've been having a hard time. It does seem like they just bombarded you with all this news and then left you hanging... Definitely try to speak to someone more in depth and look at all the options.

toots sounds like you've also had a rough time. I can only imagine that the MH midwife would be there for support (like others said) rather than anything else so i wouldn't worry too much about it.
cish congrats on a little girl!! So exciting !

Can't believe how many of you have already decided on prams and stuff, i'm still shoving my head deeply in the sand....

Had an 18 weeks consultant meeting today and got to see my 2 little beans as active as always. My consultant likes to have 2 20 weeks scans with twins in case you can't get to see it all in one go. So we got to see most of the bits today but have another appoontment in 3 weeks.
I also have one anterior and one posterior placenta which explains why i've been feeling only one baby on one side and very muffled movements on the other.
We still haven't found out what we're having but i think we will at the next scan... Need to face the music sooner or later!

tootsroots · 10/06/2015 16:51

Yo yo! am being a techie dunce but if you kindly pm me your email i can add you to the FB group!!

Its a lovely place of bumps ( big and tiny and beautiful, shopping and erm.. squid.)

It is secret so NO one will see you join it, and it is of course optional!

tootsroots · 10/06/2015 17:03

MH midwife was the gem of the NHS, said i clearly am good so.. lets have fun as we have an hour!

So had a long heartbeat listen and said even though no real bump erm.. my uterus... is rather big... and she said baby is crazy active even though i cannot feel anything yet and then we had a long long chat about all my questions i have!!! amazing! On cloud nine!!!

Now i have a benchmark that no other MW could beat Grin.....

ehealy · 10/06/2015 17:10

So happy. It makes me almost tearful. I had a nightmare getting my early appointments and lovely Miriam on the helpline had me in tears because she is so nice and just sorts everything! So happy you have got some support and reassurance

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 10/06/2015 17:11

That's great news toots ah she sounds lovely!

I've got my anomaly scan tomorrow, hoping for no anomalies this time. Oddly I feel more nervous about leaving DS with his aunt (he's been a bit of a screecher today) than about the scan. I guess I'm feeling rather that it's out of my control anyway so let's just see what's what and go from there. Also I feel movements this time which I hadn't with my 1st at this stage which helps a bit.

feathergirl1 · 10/06/2015 17:29

Toots, I think I've just pmd you?! Can you let me know if it doesn't work please?!

tootsroots · 10/06/2015 17:43

Yup i have asked for emails where i didn't have them and sent a FB request to everyone who has sent me a pm!

Let me know if it does not work.

( on a MASSIVE high post midwife still, sorry to rub it in further about how good she is.. BUT she even booked the obs consultant appt at 32 weeks for me already to assess my risk for the Carmen Suite, the birthing low risk centre at St Georges, Tooting! .. IN FRONT OF ME WITH CHOICES OF APPTs!!!!! sigh. have a small crush. )

HeirToTheIronThrone · 10/06/2015 19:35

Hello lovely ladies. I am sat feeling sad tonight as my wonderful nana died this afternoon. She was terribly ill following a stroke and it was all very peaceful, in bed in her home, but I am very sad. The good thing is that I only saw her a fortnight ago and we talked all about the baby and I showed her my scan pictures, so she knew the pea was on its way, but I am devastated she won't meet it. DH and I have agreed tonight that if it's a girl (we're not finding out) then we will give her her name.

Sorry to bring the mood down but on my own and feeling blue!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 10/06/2015 19:40

Flowers Heir , hope you're ok. That's lovely to use her name if you can

tootsroots · 10/06/2015 19:50

heir i am so sorry for your loss, what a lovely lasting memory to use her name if possible.

Amyyy27 · 10/06/2015 19:57

So sorry for your loss heir Flowers lovely gesture to use her name if you can x

doomclaw · 10/06/2015 20:01

Heir so sorry for your loss Flowers

toots glad it went well. Will pm you re FB group

Crumbelina · 10/06/2015 20:44

So sorry to hear your news, Heir. Sad

Can everyone stop buying things please?! I'm almost 21 weeks now and, to date, have only managed a look in John Lewis followed by a wobble and a swift departure! Wink

Cish, a girl!! Smile Smile

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 10/06/2015 21:43

I've not bought anything yet Crumbelina had a look at double buggies, got baffled, gave up!
I thought I didn't have much to get but a lot of our stuff was borrowed from friends who are having another so I'll be doing most of the same shopping as those with first borns

PinkaColada · 10/06/2015 21:50

Can't believe we're rapidly approaching 20 week scans. It seems like only yesterday I had a peek to see if there was a November board to keep me amused as I lay on the sofa feeling sick and sleepy.

How are people doing on the bump front? I think mine is coming in now. I almost expect it to be there one morning on waking! I do instinctively reach out and feel if it has each morning Blush. I had an achy 'bump' all day today and have only felt better after a bath and lazing on the sofa all evening. Did anyone have this before 'popping'?

tootsroots · 10/06/2015 22:01

YES!!! i did all weekend and today.. baddabing... bump! ached and was sore crampy feeling on the sides ...

tootsroots · 10/06/2015 22:11

ok, today it evidently was my admin/work avoidance day and to finish off... a new threat for this one is soon to fill up... November new thread

tootsroots · 10/06/2015 22:11

omg thread... not threat!! focus how are you doing btw been a little quiet!

austengirl · 10/06/2015 23:13

Pinka, my bump is just starting to emerge, but I don't think I look properly pregnant yet. Lots of stretching/growing achey feelings in the past couple weeks. Going for a yummy mummy spa day with SIL at the weekend and I cannot wait. Been dreaming about a massage for ages as I haven't managed to see my usual therapist since before I got pregnant. Still not thinking about buying stuff for at least a little while longer, aside from maternity bits and bobs.

Congrats to those who have had lovely scan news and big hugs to those dealing with crappy workplaces/additional worries.

roughtyping · 10/06/2015 23:17

Feeling huuuge. Have a wedding on sat and everyone going is so lovely and skinny and glam. I'm just feeling like a big fat frump. Do you think a full length skirt & 'nice' top is ok? Only going to the evening.

Have had my school show tonight. So glad it's done and out of the way. The kids were all fantastic especially as it was sooo hot! I had to walk out in front of 200+ parents so hoping none of them guessed as I haven't told my class yet!

Unthoughtknown · 11/06/2015 08:00

Full length skirt and nice top is fine I reckon. I too am struggling on the maternity occasion wear front, have a big work event in July and a wedding in September.

I feel better now I have a bump, and mine gets achy too.

::goes off to place mark on new thread::

lemonwildflower · 11/06/2015 08:28

I am having my 2nd midwife appointment today - hopefully hearing the baby's heartbeat for the first time? Has anyone done this yet?
I am 16+3 Smile so glad it's beautiful and sunny outside!
