November 2015 ladies! Time to feel the glow!

Are you expecting a babe in November this year? If so, get ready to get glowing. Breaking out in spots, or tears, or both is part of the so called glow. Feeling sick, contemplating births and having the odd good day of eating well is also all glow.

Come on then. Wee in the corner to mark your spot. Have some Brew or Cake or Wine. Then glow.

More sweet toothed than normal but generally treating myself and not holding back. Cheesy wotsits and chicken kievs have always been a weakness but I'm not holding back.
Trying to be good by having porridge with lots of rasberries and strawberries, I'm crap at eating fruit. Also I don't really do dairy so bought yoghurts with vitamin d and calcium.
I can only eat little and often now not my usual huge plate even though my taste buds want more! I had cheesy beans on toaste for lunch, I'm home alone so no harm.
My supersonic hearing though is irritating!

ehealy · 08/06/2015 18:17

If anybody sees a Casatto Giggle in Pixelate or Hipstar let me know I can't decide between the 2 patterns and want to see in person.

Gr33dyeggs · 08/06/2015 18:17

Evening all. I went for a check at epu after a bump to the bump at weekend and all seems ok. Heartbeat heard and I'm having a fair bit of movement. Scan next Monday - times dragging!
I think I'm the exception to the rule with hormones - I'm more even keel when pregnant as confirmed by OH and colleagues.
Food wise I guess I'm off sweet stuff, but nothing else really.

flyingsprocket · 08/06/2015 18:34

Glad you're ok gr33dy

Don't seem to have any really craving but the wind I have is getting really uncomfortable. Sugary stuff seems to trigger it as does eating normal sized portions. I'm hungry but can't fit it in, I wish my bump would pop out & give my stomach some room.

Think I felt movement for the first time today, not like flutters or gurgling, more like a single strong pulse.

doomclaw · 08/06/2015 18:35

Another one here with loads of discharge but I was pretty sure I had seen it mentioned as a normal symptom so haven't been worried.

I have been all about meat and salty food recently but trying to refrain from going mad. Did have loads of roast beef yesterday when out for my dad's birthday though .Smile

Alittlebitofeverything · 08/06/2015 19:42

I'm off meat too, much prefer cold things, tomatoes like they're going out of fashion. Today I've eaten 2 punets of strawberries and 2 punets of cherries.. It's costing a fortune!

Also had my letter for the Down syndrome test and were 1:9700 so that's positive. So excited to hear the heartbeat. The lady I keep my horse with is a midwife and said she could have done the heartbeat tonight but I feel a bit weird about it.. Not sure why, she's a friend but I suppose I don't know her so well, not that I know my actual midwife any better Hmm

feathergirl1 · 08/06/2015 19:55

I had my 20 week scan this morning and everything was fine Grin The baby was sleeping and wouldn't turn over for her to check the spine from the back so I had to go and eat something sugary and come back. He/she v had turned over and played ball then! The detail in the scan pics is amazing - she explained everything we were looking at. The baby opened his/her mouth and yawned/took a gulp-surreal but lovely!!

I've got an anterior placenta too which may explain the lack of feeling of the baby moving.

Exciting but still hasn't sunk in we're going to be parents! HmmSmile

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 08/06/2015 20:06

Anterior placenta definitely makes a difference. I've got one anterior and one posterior and I can mostly only feel one baby at the moment. Occasionally a bit from the other, but it's more muffled.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 08/06/2015 20:07

And yey for good 20 week scan!

Amyyy27 · 08/06/2015 20:13

Great to hear everything is ok greedy!

ehealy we are going for the cosatto giggle 2 in moonwood. Out of those 2 I would choose the hipstar.

feather glad you had a great scan :) how lovely!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 08/06/2015 20:43

yey for a good scan feather

I forgot who asked (sorry) but if you're leaking fluid it smells kind of sweet like baby, and er wee smells like wee Blush I think at this stage the discharge it's something to do with the plug forming? I did ask last pregnancy so I forget what the reason is but it's really common.

My scan is on Thursday. I'm alternating between finding out the sex and not finding out. Can't decide! I might get them to write it down and maybe look later - is that a thing they'd do?

mrsscarlettbutler · 08/06/2015 21:36

Abbey a friend of mine did that -they couldn't decide whether they wanted to know, so took it home written on a bit of paper. I think they did end up looking at it!

Interesting that so many of us are off meat. It literally makes me want to gag - so weird as usually I eat quite a lot of meat. Love steak etc. HOWEVER. I did have my first meat for weeks today. In the form of a Macdonald's double cheeseburger Blush I still don't think I could stomach any other meat, but it seems the baby likes Maccy Ds. Had it with a strawberry milkshake and some mozzarella sticks. Was the most I've eaten in one go for absolutely ages, which is also embarrassing! Trying to be healthy but it seems what the baby actually likes is anything but…

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 08/06/2015 21:52

mrsscarlett I know we'd end up looking at it too! Probably on the way home, haha

I was sure I didn't want to find out, now I've changed the other way somewhat. I think with my 1st I just couldn't imagine him/her but this time I can imagine a boy or girl playing with DS quite clearly. DH also wants to know, and we did what I wanted last time so seems fair to do what he wants this time.
I don't think we'll tell other people though. Some people have been negative about the possibility of two boys and I can't be arsed to deal with other people's gender issues (when it's not their baby so doesn't affect them!) as I'm too easily pissed off when I'm pregnant

Crumbelina · 08/06/2015 21:56

Congrats Feather - fab news! Smile

feathergirl1 · 08/06/2015 22:21

tootsroots · 09/06/2015 09:31

Great news feather!

So last night i ate, manchego cheese my itself, pesto pasta and a meon cheesecake. Oh gooooooooodnesss me appetite is back. I now look mega preggo but is bloat from pasta influx. Also getting mega pain on one side when walking or stretching, so i think i am about to pop soon...

TwoBeesInTheHive · 09/06/2015 12:23

It's crazy there are 20 week scans already! I don't have a date for mine yet but my 16 week appointment is on Thursday when I'll be 17 weeks, so looking forward to that and hopefully hearing babies heartbeat ?? anyone else really struggling to eat healthy? I have hardly any appetite as it is, but I only want unhealthy foods! I forced myself to eat a banana earlier and now I feel sick! ?? also my weight has barely changed, in my previous 2 pregnancies I have lost over half a stone from morning sickness then put it back on and more by this stage, but this time it hasn't changed atall! Maybe gained almost 1kg. Whats that about?? ??

CoffeeTwo · 09/06/2015 14:29

Twobees I'm eating terribly too :( can't stand fruit and veg right now. I've lost about 4lbs too. All I want is crisps! Thank god for pregnacare.

CoffeeTwo · 09/06/2015 14:31

Amyyy we're getting the moonwood too! I love it :)

cryingbabymess · 09/06/2015 14:37

I can't help but eat rubbish!! Hmm I just don't want anything else! I'm not taking any vitamins either - should I? Feeling quite queasy today! Think I need to drink more water.

Dixiebell · 09/06/2015 15:10

crying, NHS recommendation is now to take Vitamin D throughout pregnancy in particular. Folic acid only needed up to 12 weeks, but my midwife said just keep taking the pregnacare which has a load of stuff including both those.

Amyyy27 · 09/06/2015 15:16

Ahh coffee me too! What great taste you have Wink We are ordering ours this month from Kiddicare while the free car seat offer is on.

ehealy · 09/06/2015 15:58

If you order through the MotherCare app indeed car seat is free till end of month. I've spent an hour in babies r us playing with it and I think I like the colourful pixelate just need to persuade OH!
