November 2015 ladies! Time to feel the glow!

Are you expecting a babe in November this year? If so, get ready to get glowing. Breaking out in spots, or tears, or both is part of the so called glow. Feeling sick, contemplating births and having the odd good day of eating well is also all glow.

Come on then. Wee in the corner to mark your spot. Have some Brew or Cake or Wine. Then glow.

Abbey, that is so bemusing but pleased it is sorted out!

Does anyone have scans this week? I have til 25th June for my anomaly scan, will be nearly 22 weeks so am busting to see my alien. No feeling yet. still just gas .

My official first melt down is now over and i am back in control. Man it really takes things out of proportion, i am shocked at my overthinking and selfishness once again!

  1. Its my first baby... and no one can take that away or wash it out so matter who is married or not, or whatever value people perceive that to have, it really isn't fair that my baby loses out. However -
  2. i think some showers are cringe- this one would be as half hearted.
  3. My poor DH needs some baby excitement/love and his bday in late Oct. Need to include him.
  4. A pub lunch is much more up my street. bunting in oct is naff
  5. My baby, my terms. So will ask them to cancel any plans and sort a pub lunch for mixed group of friends, couples, family to celebrate DH bday and i JUST happen to be giving birth approx 2 weeks later.
  6. i am having a team yellow baby so maybe a little tea party after the birth is more helpful - at least it will be different to the big party the others are hosting with invites and ££ contribution and wotnot as the baby itself will be there to be cuddled. i hate cuddles

Big pants, frilly ones that are mega comfy, are firmly in place. Reminds me, need new bras.

These hormones are strong are they not, almost like too much red wine on a night out, either SUPER happy or tears. dance always key

Laura today I heard the bump's heartbeat for the first time too. It was amazing :)

ShortLashes · 08/06/2015 12:06

heloharris I had a blood test which showed my vitamin d level was really low (despite taking a supplement) while every other indication was fine. I was prescribed some really high dose vitamin d tablets and they have made such a difference to my energy levels. Might be worth a try.

I have a scan later this week. Think I felt the baby move for the first time last night but may have imagined it!

tootsroots · 08/06/2015 12:07

heir its is magical hearing it! It is so fast it is bizarre that it is so small!

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 08/06/2015 12:09

How are you all hearing heartbeats? Have you all got home doppler things?

tootsroots · 08/06/2015 12:14

(sheepishly) yes i have at home one, but i am being 'sensible' could hear it last night, looks for my self imposed 30 secs and gave up, patted tummy and move on. Will try again Wed, as baby was probs just hiding so will give it a few days to move.

tootsroots · 08/06/2015 12:14

^ *couldn't

Lauramum23 · 08/06/2015 12:50

No I had my 16 week check, she found it straight away tho!

mrsscarlettbutler · 08/06/2015 13:09

Ahh Abbey glad you've got to the bottom of everything with your parents - did they find it funny as well?

I've been too scared to get a home doppler but I secretly wish I had one. I know my friend has one but she's too far away for me to borrow it from her!

I'm having a bit of a panic today because I'm worrying that I'm leaking fluids... sorry for TMI but is it normal to have very watery discharge? I've not really thought about it until today, but there have been a few times where I've had significant wet patches in my knickers over the past week (I always wear a thin pad since I had lots of bleeding episodes early on, I like to know what's going on down there!) The pad has been very damp, and then the wet patches sort of either side on my actual pants. It happened this morning, and I remember it happened at least once last week, but I didn't really register it as a 'thing.' I've also felt it sort of 'coming out' occasionally - the same way that you do when you have a period if that makes sense? There's not really any smell, as in it definitely doesn't smell like urine, but I have no idea what anything else would smell like. I think maybe there's a vague bleachy smell?!

Sorry to be so graphic Blush , I'm just sitting at my desk quietly freaking out that actually I've been leaking amniotic fluid all this time and not realised. Or is this just one of the joys of pregnancy?!

Amyyy27 · 08/06/2015 13:21

mrsscarlett I think its another joy of pregnancy! I have a lot too. I read up somewhere that it is common and there is a normal reason for it but I can't think off the top of my head sorry! Someone else may know.

I've heard (and recorded) heartbeat too. I have a home Doppler as midwife refused to listen until 25 week appointment. I am also being sensible in that I do it once a day for now. If I can't hear anything or if I feel like hearing it at a different time during the day I just listen to the recording I took. I think I will stop using it as much when I have had my scans and also when movements are happening more often.

CoffeeTwo · 08/06/2015 13:34

Got my quad test result back. It said low risk 1:40000 which seems good although it's not as accurate at the nuchal scan I'm glad we've got some sort of indication.

16 weeks today and feeling baby bimbling about a lot :) off to catch up on the thread now.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 08/06/2015 13:39

scarlett I'm quite damp generally. I remember thinking the same last pregnancy. Sometimes I'm not sure if it's actually wee Confused

Blueblink · 08/06/2015 13:45

Scarlett I've been having quiet a lot of discharge too, I read it was really common too and like amyyy can't really remember why or where i read it so put your mind at rest!

Abby I can't believe they didn't realise you were pg! do you think they just thought you were a little bit mental talking about SIL's pregnancy??!

I've got my 20 week scan on the 25th too! I keep telling myself its only 2 weeks on Thursday but man that is going to drag!!

HeirToTheIronThrone · 08/06/2015 14:14

Same as Laura, it was my 16 week midwife appointment. I wish I had recorded it Amy, that would have been a good idea! Next time I will ask if I can.

tootsroots · 08/06/2015 14:37

I also have the4 damp knicker thing, though some of it is related to being so chuffing hot and bothered in the tropical 20degree heat!

annatha · 08/06/2015 15:15

My cravings have hit a new low. I've spent the last two days dreaming of Gregg's sausage rolls dipped in tomato soup. I don't think I've had one since I was at uni (my housemate used to work there so we lived off stale pasties...) but nothing else would do. We went to a nice pub for lunch today and all I could think about was getting some bloody sausage rolls on the wah home. DH thinks I'm having a boy because I've also been eating steak and ribs which I normally don't like. With DD it was just ice lollies, fruit and mushrooms. Man food = baby boy.

mrswishywashy · 08/06/2015 15:16

I noticed dampness over weekend and was worried but Google said normal. However this morning when I've wiped there was a jelly like thing with dark streaks so now I'm worried. Will stop the aspirin I've been taking for past week and if it continues will call midwife. At 18 weeks there is little anyone can do. So right when I thought I could relax its all been wiped away. :-(

stace1986 · 08/06/2015 15:21

I read somewhere you produce more discharge as its the way the body naturally cleans itself ... not sure where I saw it but I am suffering too. Another pregnancy joy!

cryingbabymess · 08/06/2015 15:44

I too am "leaking" ladies!! Sometimes a lot but other times not as much. Glad we are all in the same boat!

mrsscarlettbutler · 08/06/2015 16:01

Oh good I'm glad it's not just me. It's just not really something you discuss with other people... well, non pregnant people anyway! And I don't want to worry DH, plus he'll have no idea what I am talking about.

I think I just felt the baby do a big kick so I'm assuming it's still in there happily rolling around.

That's interesting about your cravings annatha - so far I've gone entirely off meat (baby is obviously a vegetarian) and my only cravings so far have been for cucumber and grapes, I wonder if it means anything?! (probably not, I think it's just because I'm thirsty!)

gennibugs · 08/06/2015 16:17

mrswishy hope all is ok.

Another one here with dampness symptom too. Ugh.

I've completely gone off meat. I can just about stomach chicken if I have to. I've also developed a very sweet tooth - I've always been a total salty savoury girl so no idea where this has come from! I also am preferring cold meals and snacks rather than hot ones - think it might be the smell?

Amyyy27 · 08/06/2015 16:39

Another one off meat here! I am also totally off sweet things, I only want to eat savoury with the occasional piece of fruit. I'm really interested to see if they have any correlation to the genders (although I don't think they will!) We shall see :)

Laura7010 · 08/06/2015 16:43

Does anyone else feel like an inconvenience?! Or is it just me? Could it just be mental hormones but I had a massive melt down last night, crying on OH about me being pregnant is just putting people out! Work have to cover me (am a teacher), I've been off work for weeks with hyperemesis and OH has had to do everything. To top it off I'm supposed to be a maid of honour in July. I offered to alter my dress (I teach textiles) but instead my friend asked another friend and gVe her my dress!!! She has since bought me a new one but I haven't tried it on and it's one shoulder, I will defo have to wear a bra my boobs are huge!! So she said I could make a strap for it, er thanks! Also my friends keep telling me to take throwing up all day in my stride and be more cheery :(
Sorry rant over.

Blueblink · 08/06/2015 16:47

I am ON meat! well mostly beef and red meat really. But i'm also loving sweet things too and have been annoying my work colleagues by talking about jam so much today (I don't usually like jam and have just discovered its amazing!)
I think I've had a few good movements today too! Although I am quite achy around the bump area, which i've been getting every few weeks and have been putting down to growing pains!

tootsroots · 08/06/2015 17:42

Off meat here! and LOVING fruit ... BIG TIME.

chocolate all tasta off to me, i 'tried' Milka last night, but it felt like eating butter.. which incidentally i am not off if you were to see my slab of butter with a bit of bread attached i ate for breakie!

Laura, you are not being a pain, AT ALL. You are incubating and deserve cotton wool and nurturing.
