Oh ginger I'm so sorry, what a horrid sad time for you both Sad

Well with the hubby side of things - we are definitely close and still cuddly etc, we had sex the other night and I could tell he wasn't that into it - so I asked him afterwards if it was the bump and he said yes, it was weird that it was staring him in the face whilst we were doing that when beforehand we had been laying there feeling kicks! So I think we just need to find different positions where he can't really see it! I don't worry about him not finding me attractive as he loves the bump and is always encouraging me to show it off but just doesn't want the baby reminder during sex by the sounds of it which is fair enough! So the point of me sharing random details about my sex life was that maybe the men who seem a bit distant are worried about the same thing or hurting the baby or something? Worth a chat about it because soon we won't be wanting any sex for a long time I imagine Grin

batfish · 03/07/2015 06:59

Ahh beautifulbatmanwasstinkersmum it's so lovely when they get to feel the kicks Smile

hearthattack · 03/07/2015 08:28

I think the bump 'staring him in the face' (haha!) has a lot to do with it. We had a chat last night and he said he really enjoys being cuddly and close and we are cuddly a lot. I fall asleep on his lap on the sofa like clock work every night, which he says he looks forward to every evening because it's really intimate time. I'm unconscious for most of it so probably not appreciating his feelings! Blush He also said he feels really protective of me and wants to look after me, and he finds it hard to flit from that to fancying a shag! I think it's all part of navigating our new identities and new life. Since we've moved I haven't been able to get any work so have gone from working woman in London to pregnant country housewife in the space of five months. Not a bad life at all but takes some adjustment.

We are going to book a weekend city break somewhere (living in the depths of North Wales now ginger so a city feels exotic and exciting!), get dressed up and go out for dinner together, that kind of thing.

He also felt kicks properly for the first time last night. They've suddenly got really strong! Definitely a baby in there and not just pies. Grin

gingerbreadmam · 03/07/2015 11:55

thank you Thanks she was an alcoholic so it has been going on for a long time but i guess we just didnt expect it to actually come. she was only 51 and a beautiful special woman when not possessed by that stuff!

the bump thing is scary as for men and sex tbh i find it a bit like that myself too! im always conscious of squashing him too haha the baby not dp he could handle it ha!

in other baby related news i treat myself to some maternity shorts from asos, they look like pyjamas and are a bit too big but my goodness i am enjoying them today. anyones feet swelling up with the heat?

SparklesandBubbles · 04/07/2015 00:26

Hi all
Not posted on here for ages as I've been mainly on the FB site. Ginger, sorry to hear about your DPs mum. It's never easy even if you know it's coming.

Hearthattack, I know what you mean. I keep thinking there's not that much time before Bubba arrives and at the moment DH is just working constantly. We are out of sync with our going to bed times - I seem to have returned to being a complete night owl. Both of us just seem exhausted all the time! This leaves little time for being intimate! Might have something to do with the fact that neither of us have had a holiday/break yet this year. Luckily that is about to change and we've got 2 weeks off work and going to the south of france to see a friend of mine.

gingerbreadmam · 04/07/2015 09:01

ooh sparkles your holiday sounds just perfect bet you cant wait. im sure you and dp will find plenty of time for each other there!

im back to being a night owl too well maybe not night owl but i can easily make 11.00pm now which felt impossible for a while!

thank you i appreciate that.

BeautifulBatman · 04/07/2015 12:43

I must have turned a corner. I've actually started buying stuff. Nothing major. Just vests, sleepsuits, bibs etc. Also discussed with DH about guardianship should the worst happen. It's all starting to seem a bit real now :)

BeautifulBatman · 06/07/2015 13:08

It's v quiet here. Everyone ok?

Superexcited · 06/07/2015 13:27

Hi batman. I'm still here and still doing ok. I haven't had anything to share the past few days, just been trying to cope in the heat Smile
Hope everyone is doing well.

gingerbreadmam · 06/07/2015 13:58

im still around too...hi!

ooh how exciting making a start on the shopping, have you been tempted by anything else yet?

glad to here you are well too super! i think most people are on the fb groups judging by how quiet it is here lately. i dont have it so will be hanging around here constantly Grin

im well just trying to get back to normal following recent events. ordered a coming home outfit for baby which i had delivered to work so finally got it today. it is too cute and got me a little excited hehe!

BeautifulBatman · 06/07/2015 14:04

Where are you guys ordering your sleep suits etc ftom? I've done Jojo, M&S, John Lewis etc.

Superexcited · 06/07/2015 14:20

I have bought sleep suits , vests etc from a variety of places. I got some from debenhams, primark, tk maxx, George at asda, gap and mothercare. The tk maxx stuff has been my favourite because everything seems to come in little sets so I have the bodysuit, sleep suit, hat and cardigans all to match. I intend to just use the primark and asda stuff in the house though so I don't care if it gets vomited or pooed on and needs changing several times a day.

BeautifulBatman · 06/07/2015 14:22

Maybe I'll stop looking online now and wait til I'm back in the UK and visit the actual shops Grin

hearthattack · 06/07/2015 14:42

Still here! Mostly being kicked about from the inside!

We've been given a ton of second hand stuff. I don't like it all but I figure with a winter baby we'll mostly see blanket or cardie anyway. I did buy some surprisingly lovely coming home outfits from BHS, of all places! And there's great bundles of second hand stuff on ebay, Jojo sleepsuits for 2 or 3 quid a piece.

Just the big scary pushchair purchase let really, and the odd few bits.

Hope everyone has been coping in the sun? My feet swelled the other day, I looked like an old lady. It's 14 degrees and pouring with rain here today, I'm loving it!

gingerbreadmam · 06/07/2015 15:00

my feet and ankles have been ridiculous in the heat and with all the running about we have been doing. back at work today in an air-conned office and not noticing it so think getting better.

i got plain white sleepsuits from asda and primark. will probs get a 7 pack from next and leave it at that as i know we'll get a million outfits.

his coming home outfit is from john lewis. i will see if i can post links.

we need pram, car seat, mattress and whatever he is sleeping in in our room now and probs more bedding then done.

BeautifulBatman · 06/07/2015 15:05

Can you all belI ever we're all (give or take a week or two for some) 6 months pregnant????

BeautifulBatman · 06/07/2015 15:06

Bell ever? Believe!

hearthattack · 06/07/2015 15:29

Ha!

It's weird isn't it? 6 months feels like properly pregnant (I don't know what not properly pregnant is). I'd our little one is making sure I know he's there pretty regularly. I actually found myself telling him to take it easy yesterday, all that bouncing around. Anyone else been talking to their bumps? Or is it just me being a loon???

Stainlessteel · 06/07/2015 17:01

6 months does seem very pregnant. I'm feeling like a albino hippo at the minute. Had my regular GP appointment last friday who took one look at the swollen ankles and wrote me a prescription for compression stockings. They'll be fun to wear in 38 degree heat.

Just went and scared myself by looking at the latest July baby bus. They already have quite a few arrivals. In only 3 months that's us. Eek.

BeautifulBatman · 06/07/2015 17:11

Yes heart I talk to mine a lot. Usually to ask it to stop jumping around so much. Grin

batfish · 06/07/2015 20:03

Yep 6 months does seem a lot! At what point do we start referring to ourselves as heavily pregnant?! I am over 27 weeks now, am I third trimester?? Time is going so fast!

We painted the nursery this weekend, all getting a bit real!

Exciting batman that you've started buying a few bits, there will be no stopping you now Grin

BeautifulBatman · 06/07/2015 20:19

Well, I did have a minor freak out yesterday. Didn't feel the baby move at all on Friday, and nothing more than the odd bubble all saturday morning so went off to the docs and had another scan. Relieved is not a strong enough word to when I saw the baby was just fine. Cried my eyes out. The sonographer was sweet - after the years she did the rest of the scan in 4d to cheer me up. Baby started to suck it's thumb Grin. It's just moves into a position where I can't feel it so much at the moment. Blush

gingerbreadmam · 06/07/2015 21:03

batman i think my baby has got higher up and is laid on his back. before he was kicking my bladder lots now i seem to feel more turns and like somethinf getting stuck between ribs. its weird ha.

decorating nurseries wow it is getting so close and so much more exciting!

BeautifulBatman · 06/07/2015 21:05

I think mines moved the opposite. It was around the same level/just above my belly button and you could see it move.... now it's down low, can't see the movement but can feel even single trample on my bladder...

gingerbreadmam · 06/07/2015 21:14

funny how they move around so much. wont be long before they dont have much room to do it Grin
