Fern it almost makes me laugh sometimes. And jump! I want it go stop but I don't iyswim. You can't see it on the outside yet and I want dh to feel it too but he gets so worried about applying any pressure on my tummy he won't do it. He also tells the cats off when they jump on my stomach. He thinks they'll squash the baby. Grin

FernGullysWoollyPully · 10/06/2015 12:23

Bless him! Grin

I agree that the kicks and movement feels odd but I enjoy it because I know that it means baby is alive and well. I suppose with this being my third pregnancy I am a bit more used to it than I would be if it was my first.

ollie I have bought the pram and car seat, travel cot, bouncer, sterilising unit and bottles (I plan to EBF for the first couple of months but would like to express so I can leave DH to feed and I also don't want to assume that BF will work out). My mum has bought me two baskets of clothing, baby toiletries and nappies. I just need to get a cot, some more sleep suits, and a few other bits. I have also bought a new car Blush as we realised that the previous one was not going to be big enough for all of us plus pram and baby stuff. I have also decorated the spare bedroom, so we now have a nursery.
It all seems very early but I am expecting I will be diagnosed with gestational diabetes in 5 weeks time and then my feet and everywhere else will swell and I won't feel like doing anything.

FernGullysWoollyPully · 10/06/2015 12:25

He's going to be surprised by the amount of pressure the midwives apply when they see how your babys presenting!

Stinkersmum · 10/06/2015 12:31

Fern I know! He's such a wuss. I lied. I have bought something. After my 20 week scan (where my consultant accidently let slip what team we're on after we said at the beginning we didn't want to know), I went to mothercare and bought a pack of 3 baby vests. They're very cute. Blush

Superexcited · 10/06/2015 12:38

Is anybody else feeling hungry all of the time? I thought I was doing really well with my eating but the last few weeks my appetite has really increased and i am constantly grazing.
I am also much more tired in the last week and struggle to keep my eyes open past 8pm.

Stinkersmum · 10/06/2015 12:42

Yep! So far today I've had 4 slices if toast, one big bowl of coco pops, and a pot of cream cheese with a carrot, a red pepper and a baby cucumber. I am two hours ahead though (it's 14.41 here) Blush

MummyBexta · 10/06/2015 14:07

ollieplimsoles · 10/06/2015 16:49

Stinkers and Super

Yes! I'm a massive grazer now. I used to be able to sit at my desk all day working and have nothing, now I'm lucky if I can last an hour without something!

I haven't put on that much weight though, I was a size 12 before falling pg and my bmi was a bit on the high side so I've been very worried about putting on weight.

Stinkersmum · 10/06/2015 16:50

Yay!!!! WineBrewCakeFlowersStarGrin

So happy for you Ginger. Now you can start to plan and enjoy?

Superexcited · 10/06/2015 16:53

Coolchic12 · 10/06/2015 19:30

Hi ladies

First of all great news Ginger, so happy youve got an official confirmation of the good news! You can now sort of sit back and think about the practical bits going forward and as someone mentioned, get in touch with a support group where you can meet parents with similar so that you are prepared for the practicalities.

I agree with Stinkers, the movements feel weird but exciting though. Mine are also stronger in the evenings when I'm relaxing. My placenta is upper anterior but the movements are definite and I can also see stomach move when baby kicks, I think I started noticing around 20 weeks, I'm now 22+5. We haven't bought anything yet but we have made a list of essentials items such as pram, crib, changing table, storage etc. I almost bought a set of 8 cute essential newborn clothes at M&S, babygrow, bibs, vests, hat. I picked up and put back, don't know why I didn't buy, perhaps the reality has kicked in as much as I thought haha! Anyone else on the same boat when it comes to buying or not buying stuff?

Stinkersmum · 10/06/2015 19:37

Apart from my little set of 3 vests I bought after my 20 week scan I haven't bought anything. I keep looking online at sleepsuit etc, going so far as putting them in my 'basket' but I never complete the purchase. Not sure what's stopping me.....

batfish · 10/06/2015 20:18

Great news ginger I'm so pleased it was good news Smile

We are going to start buying soon I think, I've had exams this week so have been studying for the past few weeks so now that's over we can crack on with the planning! We bought pram and car seat already and other people have bought us a few bits of clothes but otherwise we don't have anything. I think if we knew the sex I would go mad on clothes but neutral stuff is a bit boring mostly!

stinkers you don't sound cold hearted with your sleeping arrangements, everyone has their own solution that works for them so nobody should criticise someone else's choices. Same goes for you not enjoying the movements, you are only being honest and it doesn't mean you love your baby any less than anyone else!

I cooked dinner for 6 friends tonight and I'm bloody knackered - stood up for 3+ hours and I've got a really achey back and a sore bump, it's the first time I've had to admit that maybe I can't carry on as normal and need to take it a bit easier sometimes!

Ladypug · 10/06/2015 20:27

Evening all,

Yay Ginger, great news!

I'm terrified of feeling movement too Stinkers, I've been scared since day one of how it's going to feel. Bizarrely I still haven't felt anything.

I did find out I have anterior placenta though but if it makes you feel better stinkers, I'm properly terrified by it, grosses me out! :-(

I also haven't bought anything, just one baby grow after 12 week scan, that's it!

Stinkersmum · 10/06/2015 20:45

Sod that batfish. I could just about be bothered to throw some ready made ravioli in a pan! Blush

gaggiagirl · 10/06/2015 20:57
