Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FernGullysWoollyPully · 09/06/2015 18:37

Thanks all. Yeah, we are relieved although at our 20 week scan they assured us that there was absolutely no reason to be concerned she was just being a difficult bugger!

gingerbreadmam · 09/06/2015 20:04

thanks everyone. yes today was very positive. im still trying not to get carried away just incase we do get a shock thursday but it is looking unlikely.

SparklesandBubbles · 09/06/2015 23:05

Ginger, so glad everything went ok today - good luck for Thursday's results.

Fern and Olli, glad you both had good scans too.

Stinkersmum · 10/06/2015 06:14

Question - if you are already feeling your baby move, how often in the day do you feel it? Any particular times of day?

gingerbreadmam · 10/06/2015 07:23

thank you.

mines quite random but it tends to live up about 7.00pm. im definitely feeling unmistakable movements now. baby seems to have found it a novelty to kick or punch me in the bladder Grin very weird!

batfish · 10/06/2015 07:40

stinkers I seem to feel kicks in the evening (not loads though) when it's chill out on the sofa time and then a few random ones through the day - yesterday morning was a very kicky morning though which I don't normally get. Mr bat saw my stomach move for the first time 2 days ago and was a little freaked out by it Grin

ollieplimsoles · 10/06/2015 08:13

Sorry if this has already been asked but are there any anterior placenta ladies out there?
I found out mine is anterior yesterday and I was a little surprised because I felt very definite movement at around 16+3

ollieplimsoles · 10/06/2015 08:14

I feel my baby randomly through out the day but certainly more at night. In the bath they are very quiet!

batfish · 10/06/2015 08:16

I don't have a clue about things like this so may be wrong but could it be that the placenta moved and is now anterior but didn't used to be? Although I have heard of a couple of people who have anterior and have also felt a lot of movement so it must be possible!

Stinkersmum · 10/06/2015 08:34

Ollie it's perfectly possible. Anterior placentas can cushion the kicks but it doesn't mean you can't feel them. When my placenta was anterior I couldn't feel anything. My placenta has moved now though and am definitely feeling more movement.

gingerbreadmam · 10/06/2015 08:45

i got told my placenta was at the front at yesterdays scan whereas previously i dont think it was so they maybe do move oricouldjusthaveitwrong

ollieplimsoles · 10/06/2015 09:13

Wow I had no idea they could move! I know they can move if they are over the cervix, mine wasn't though. Ive read so many posts about mums with anterior placentas worrying about feeling no movement so I thought mine couldn't be at the front!

stinkers did they mention to you that your placenta had moved in your scan?

peppercorn28 · 10/06/2015 09:13

Hello - I'm a grad of the April antenatal group and now have my 7-wk-old baby! I've started a blog and just wrote about "the worst pregnancy advice you've ever been given".- got lots of hideous and hilarious things people have told pregnant people and wanted to share in case you can relate or having anything to add! x
runoutofwomb.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/when-you-want-to-shove-their-pregnancy.html

Stinkersmum · 10/06/2015 09:32

ollie yes. At 10 weeks it was anterior. At my 20 week scan it was posterior. As your uterus grows your placenta can move. As long as it's not lying low it doesn't seem to be a problem either way. My consultant never seemed bothered anyway!

FernGullysWoollyPully · 10/06/2015 09:34

I can feel and see my wee girl moving all day long now, she's very wriggly! Hopefully this will mean she sleeps a lot when she's on the outside?! not at all convinced

Ollie I have a bit of an anterior placenta now. It was totally over the front but it's moved over time. I didn't feel her move until about 19 weeks. Now it's over the front at the top and down the left hand side, like a big banana shape!

Superexcited · 10/06/2015 09:49

I don't know where my placenta was at my 12 week scan but it was anterior at my 20 week scan but high enough up not to cause any problems.
I feel a lot of kicks (first started feeling at around 16/17 weeks) and DH has commented that he can see my stomach a lot if I am wearing a tight top and that he can feel the movement if he outs his arm around me in bed at night.
I feel a lot of movement several times through the day and they are quite strong now and very obvious. I get more movement in the evenings and at night but that's because babies are thought to sleep more during the day due to mummy's movements rocking them to sleep but at night time when you are still they then wake up. DH reckons this baby is far more active at an early stage than on other two children were.

Superexcited · 10/06/2015 09:50

^^ see my stomach MOVE a lot.

ollieplimsoles · 10/06/2015 11:47

Super I'm exactly the same as you, my tummy moves about a lot and kicks are really strong at night.

Fern I love the phrase 'on the outside' Grin If my baby kicks really hard my tummy moves, I feel movement mainly low down so I think my placenta is quite high up- the sonographer commented that it was 'well out of the way'

Stinkersmum · 10/06/2015 11:47

Would any of you judge me for admitting I don't much enjoy the actual feeling of the movements? Blush

ollieplimsoles · 10/06/2015 11:47

Has any one made any big purchases yet (cot and pram mainly) ?

ollieplimsoles · 10/06/2015 11:48

Stinker Not at all! I totally know what you mean! I really needed a wee recently and was in the car on way home, the baby kept jabbing at my full bladder it was really uncomfortable!

Stinkersmum · 10/06/2015 12:00

It feels weird to me. A bit icky. I'm so happy I'm pregnant and I'm glad the baby is actually moving and kicking obvs, but it's still a bit BOAK. It starts at night sometimes when I get into bed and I can't lie down until it stops as I feels too odd!

No purchases made yet. I go home to the UK for a couple of weeks at the end of July. All purchases will be made when we get back here. We chosen the pram etc and I've made a list of what we need for the nursery here too. I'm having the baby in the uk though so I have a separate list of what I'll need initially and get that when I go back for the birth (early September).

ollieplimsoles · 10/06/2015 12:05

Oh lovely Stinkers where are you now?

I know the 'icky' feeling, like when you go over a bump in the road and your tummy goes up- it feels a bit like that for me but lower down!

We have bought our crib already. Its the chicco Next 2 me bedside cot. Now I'm struggling to find a sheet that will for the matress! I think we are going with silver cross for the pram.

FernGullysWoollyPully · 10/06/2015 12:11

Stinkers absolutely not! It does feel odd odd, I quite enjoy it but wouldn't judge you! This is my fifth and it takes getting uses to. Baby pushes are horrible when they get a bit bigger and stretch their whole body!

Ollie 'on the outside' Grin
Feel weird saying it but I've bought everything! Except the reusable nappies I want. That's my last purchase!

Stinkersmum · 10/06/2015 12:17

We live in Saudi for DHs job. But I'm having the baby back home. I'm going against the trend as such and baby will be going into its cot (in a sleepyhead) in its own room ASAP. I'll be sleeping in the room with it in my own bed. Reasons being a) I don't want dh disturbed at night when he has to work all day too and b) i don't want the hassle of transitioning the baby from one room to another. I never slept in my parents room, let alone in their bed when I was little and I want to keep our bedroom just for us (me & dh). I think that may sound a bit cold but I'm not, honestly!
