Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 28th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 46th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

I have physio Ga, I love it when I go, my pelvis always needs re positioning though. It pop out quite a bit and even more so now I'm pregnant. I've got a bump belt as well, it really helps if you're on your feet for a lot of the day (I don't get to sit often with a 1 year old) just remember to slacken it off when you sit down otherwise baby will kick off! My DS expresses his discomfort by sticking a foot in my ribs and punching me in the bladder so I nearly pee!

honeysucklejasmine · 18/05/2015 21:27

de-lurk My sister has a fairy light "net" (available in supermarkets etc) which hangs on the wall in the nursery. It's a great lighting solution.

Purpleball · 18/05/2015 21:41

Our bedside lights dim so I think we are ok but I like the fairy light idea for the nursery Smile

I saw a thread about a baby born at 24 weeks weighing 1lb 6 and then this months Mother and Baby mag has 3 similar stories. I've got a bit panicky that I'm 22 weeks tomorrow and something could happen very soon. I know it's rare but it's triggered some anxiety especially as I'm not stopping work travel til 28 weeks.

Wondering whether to discuss with midwife or consultant next time I go about stopping sooner.
Am I being neurotic? Would appreciate opinions :-)

teejayem · 18/05/2015 21:42

We have fairy lights around our headboard left from Xmas and I liked them so much we kept them up. They are cosy esp on dark mornings.
I'm supposed to see physio again this week. I saw one right at the start of my back drama, who told me there wasn't anything he could do and just gave me crutches, and after seeing a different consultant last week she was apalled I wasn't having physio and has referred me back! Tbh I don't really want to be pulled about much anymore, I saw the osteopath about three weeks ago and cried when he was trying to level me out, I'm almost resigned to leaving it alone until after tiny tee arrives and then push for fusion before we ttc again.
Will post pix of pots when they bloom! They are a bit green and uninteresting at the moment, I did hangings with million bells, fuchsias, lobelia and verbana and my tubs have petunia, begonia, more fuchsia and dianthus. If the couple at the front take them I'll do some more; it's just a bit shady aside from first thing so I don't know how well they will fair. The fuchsias should be alright, not sure about the rest.

I'm just all about the Rock and roll, me!

DulcetMoans · 18/05/2015 22:01

Oh fairy lights, that is a good idea cym. We still have some tinsel up from Christmas as we think it looks nice! Won't help us see for the night feeds though.

Well that's a bitch gaggia, has it stopped?

Yay for cot toast! Mine was off eBay too but still exciting! Now you can use yours for storage like the rest of us!

Obviously we can't guarantee it won't happen purple but it is very rare, especially that early. Average for first pregnancy is apparently 41+2. I know you'll be earlier because of the diabetes but unlikely this early!

Why is everyone packing bags?! I haven't even sorted the house for the baby. I need a bloody pram! Can't take it out of hospital without car seat or pram and I have neither - it will have to live there at this rate!

Fattycow · 18/05/2015 22:17

dulcet, get a move on with the pram and car seat. We are nearly due!
We bought our pram a while ago when it was on sale and it came with a free car seat. The nursery is next to finished since last week. And I have started packing my labour basket so easy the antsy feeling I was getting about that.

But I'm really relaxed in other areas, I promise!

gaggiagirl · 18/05/2015 22:20

Thanks pixie I'll let you know how I get on with it.

dulcet its stoppy starty sickness. Its worse when I get a bit hot.

Yes thanks toast just got in from shift and dh has made dinner. Feels so good to be sitting on sofa! Am watching home fires, the itv drama about the WI at the beginning of the war... crying like a baby!

townsender · 18/05/2015 22:27

Hello folks, I'm still lurking, thought I'd pop on and say Hi.

Good luck Tori very excited for you.

I used the Medela Symphony breast pump (which you can hire through their website) at the hospital, and it is very very good. I think most hospitals have them so can always try it out there (if you have time or inclination!). I got a shock when I went home with a pump borrowed from the hospital that was sadly a different brand and it was really rubbish in comparison.

purple I was very relaxed about travel with my first pregnancy, but I'm much more cautious this time. If you're just travelling in the UK then it should be fine - although you might want to check that your work would pay for a hotel for you to be near the baby in hospital if something did happen. Outside the UK is a different matter entirely - it is very unlikely but as a minimum check your insurance covers you and the baby medically, hotel, repatriation etc.

All going well for me, 21 weeks now and got my doppler scan on Thursday.

Purpleball · 18/05/2015 22:28

Pisghetti · 18/05/2015 22:30

Fairy lights sound nice - BabyPis loves to stare at twinkly lights though so not sure she'd go back to sleep. I only have one plug socket in the bedroom and it's behind the door so I don't even have a bedside lamp Sad I got these which are great for latching her on without waking DP up but you couldn't read by them.

Purpleball · 18/05/2015 22:31

Thanks towns, I've got 4 days in Belfast at 26 weeks and I'm a bit worried. Other than that it's all UK but often it's 200+ miles from home

townsender · 18/05/2015 22:33

Oh, forgot to say re: knickers, I had a C-section and had to send DP to buy granny pants - regular ones are hipster cut so the top lands just on where the cut it.
Tesco's full brief multipacks are very good and very cheap.

I'll make a note of that bag list for later purple, thanks (have started packing hospital bag but only with my stuff not baby stuff Blush)

townsender · 18/05/2015 22:39

No worries purple, anytime. I had a work trip to Brussels booked for 25 weeks which I cancelled after lots of soul searching, but I am high risk and nervous! I managed to explain to work that flying is not the problem, but having the baby abroad.
Its very very unlikely for you though, so as long as you have good insurance then on balance it might be worth going. Your baby won't be at any more risk, that's the important thing, it's the stress, hassle, and cost for you and your OH that is the downside.

teejayem · 18/05/2015 22:55

I've popped the baby clothes in labelled freezer zip bags according to size; have newborn plus a couple of larger bits, amd two different sized going home outfits which have mitts, hat etc also bagged up and labelled (For hospital bag). All I've got to pack is dressing gown & slippers (still using) and something to go home in, which I will probably do tomorrow. (Black jersey maxi dress and cardi, depending on weather..). Mr tee has his bag packed already with change of clothes, and some of those weetabix breakfast drinks for us both, they are high sugar carb and long life so don't need a fridge. Need a sports bottle and some biscuits to pop in there.
I've also put some other things labelled in zip bags for ease of finding for mr tee if I'm otherwise off my tits engaged like hair bands, lip balm, headphones and tea tree spritz, and there is an alphabetical master list of all items and where they are/what they're in which is a shared document on iPhones so we can both see. We've got a whiteboard in the kitchen with the last couple of things to do before running out the door (feed cats, shut windows, iPhone charger, mat notes, pillow. )Need to give mum the spare key in case things drag on, don't want the felines to trash the house.

Feel quite organised, just small incidentals now, tea tree/ witch hazel for the bath I still have to buy. What's the view on taking my own towel with me? I've got a couple of cheap swimming ones from Costco which I don't mind getting messy, the delivery rooms are en suite and I thought it might be nice to be able to wrap my bad self in a cosy towel rather than scratchy hospital one...?

Indigoblue2 · 18/05/2015 23:15

tee you're so organised woman!

teejayem · 19/05/2015 02:48

Too much time on my hands indigo waaaaay too much!! Although it's distracted me from the things I can't organise a bit (like when this child decides to make an appearance, please not this weekend, we have lovely plans!) and made me worry a bit less. At least I can sit on my arse playing Xbox for the last couple of weeks and be reasonably confident that I've got my shit together.
I do need some canned gin and tonic for after tho, see! 2.45am insomnia is useful for something. Keep waking up every hour for some reason, baby feels like he's in a peculiar place and my mutant outie belly button has gone innie Shock for the first time in about eight months...........

minimooo · 19/05/2015 03:54

Wow, you're so organise tee! I was writing and printing out my birth plan on day 2 of labour! I was so disorganised Shock

Personally I didn't take towels. I just used the hospital ones. I can see why your own would be nice though. Def take ones you're willing to throw away though...

yowns I totally agree with the knickers! I bought disposables from Boots and they have been a godsend. They sit way higher than the cs wound so are comfortable.

Love the fairy lights idea. Might make an addition to my still unfinished nursery.

minimooo · 19/05/2015 03:58

*towns, obviously! Sorry, tired and up with baby E.
Honestly, viroids, I can't tell you how amazing being a mummy is. The first 2 weeks are scary as fuck, but it passes and then it's wonderful! Can't wait to see more babies appearing Grin

Lookingforadvice123 · 19/05/2015 06:55

Viroids I'm panicking Sad last night I started having sharp pains in my stomach, in the area to the right of my belly button. It's not a constant pain it comes and goes and only lasts about a second, but it's very sharp and I have no idea what it could be that's not a danger to the bean. I'm 7+1. Has anyone had this or knows what it might be?

LaLaLaaaa · 19/05/2015 07:29

Looking I hate to say this but when I got that it was wind - could you try moving about and see if that's it? My mc was more a dull low cramp that became extreme cramps. Sharp pains throughout this pg have usually meant I need to fart. Hope you feel better soon. If any blood or you think it's more crampy give EPU a call

You're all very organised with your hospital bags and baskets! My mum is visiting start of June so we are going to do the hospital bag shopping then.

PixieChops · 19/05/2015 07:36

I sometimes still get stabbing in my belly button at 34 weeks, think it's the muscles being stretched? If you're worried I'd contact your midwife and just ask.
Tee you are super organised! I'm not due until 24th June and find out a week today if the powers that be will give me a c section. I'm so nervous 1) about having to plead my case without OH being there as he's working and 2) actually being granted it and then having it done. I am such a wuss sometimes, I keep nearly hyperventilating about it and I'm worried I'll die. I was the exact same with DD- convinced I was going to die in labour. I tell OH I'm scared but he's not really that useful. Just says it'll be fine. I know I'm panicking for probably no reason but the sooner it's coming round the more anxious I'm becoming. Confused Any viroids that have had c sections of you could offer advice and generally calm me down that'd be great!

teejayem · 19/05/2015 07:37

looking I was very crampy early on, but to the left of my belly button, it was tiny tee burying himself in nice and cosy. It was surprisingly ouchy! I took paracetamol and used some gentle heat (wheat pack, bath) to take it down a notch. Wind pain is def v v painful too, your womb gets a lot bigger faster than your baby so your other organs get squished quite early on and pesky farts get squashed, so YY to la's advice too, maybe try some peppermint and a drink and some gentle stretching. Don't panic! We're here xx

DulcetMoans · 19/05/2015 07:41

Is it painful looking, or just uncomfortable? If here is no bleeding then that is a good sign. Any cramping at this stage can be it embedding and shuffling around.

la, you're on spatone aren't you? Does your baby go crazy when you have it? Can't tell if it's that or the OJ I mix it with but it goes nuts!

I know I need to get my act together fatty, I think I'm just over whelmed so I ignore it. Sometimes I try and then have a panic so ignore it! I will take some positive action here - purple, what prams does which say not to buy?!

That is crazy organised tee, I love it! If you have nice big towels that can be wasted then chuck it in. You don't have to use it if theirs aren't too bad!
