Noticed we were getting a bit full in the last thread! Roll up, roll up for more scanning, puking, worrying and other distractions to take us through the first trimester! Grin

Thanks chops fingers crossed for yours! Last night and this morning went so slowly, it will soon be here though.

Didn't even want to look at the screen at first just in case but found baby straight away and saw the heartbeat going strong. Baby was not impressed at being disturbed :)

I've had a lot of crampy type pains this week, on the plus side the MS has seriously abated thank god.

Got my 20 weeks scan on 31st July.

afloat · 01/06/2015 13:11

Loads of us have our 12 week scan a week from tomorrow. It will be an exciting day!

I've put on not much, about 2lbs, which is what I vary month to month anyway. But I feel sooo fat - on holidays i just looked 6 months pregnant. The bloating also makes me do loads of little burps, so glamorous.

Jcandy · 01/06/2015 13:12

Hey everyone had my scan today and it all went beautifully! One little wriggly baby Smile EDD has been changed to 13th December and my 20 week scan is 23rd July. Ok how do I get on to the Facebook group Smile

afloat · 01/06/2015 13:17

PM me your Facebook email address! Congrats on the scan!!

Rudawakening · 01/06/2015 13:46

Congrats JCandy

You've reminded me I can join the group now I've had my scan.

Metalhead · 01/06/2015 14:20

Hi all, I also had my scan this morning, and we got a good long look at baby as he/she was being very awkward and it took the sonographer ages to get the nuchal fold measurement! Baby must have had a big growth spurt as well since my last scan as I was measuring 4 days ahead, so my due date has been moved to Dec 7th, although I think I'll stick with my original date of Dec 11th as I'm pretty sure I know when I ovulated.

The lady who took my blood was pretty useless, it took her four attempts to finally find a vein, hence I now look like an intravenous drug user!

20 week scan is booked for 22 July.

I've put on about 3-4 pounds I reckon, but with the bloat I usually look about 6 months gone by the end of the day. I've been in maternity jeans for the past 2 weeks already...

Sweets27 · 01/06/2015 14:31

Oh congrats Jcandy and metal, lovely news! Smile

edinburghdancer · 01/06/2015 14:45

Hello - sorry not been on much. Between high stress job, 10w+1 today with nausea and tiredness and DH grandmother in hospital this last week, (with limited support from his useless uncles - all care for her and grandfather falling on MIL and us) I'm officially gubbed!

It's lovely to hear about all the fabulous scans. So many to mention, I know I'll forget if I try to name drop but babyfaced's sticks out as really special.

As for bump, I was IVF as I've had lots of adominal surgery in the past so since stomach muscles are pretty goosed, I think I'm starting to show already. I have had to start wearing loose dresses this week and thank you so much for the Aldi tip - got a V pillow and maternity leggings!

I'm still panicking as - since we're an IVF supported pregnancy - I came off all my hormones on Saturday so we've still got until the 18th for a 12 week scan to wait and see if it's all worked. Fortunately, still feel nauseous, tired, sore boobs - all the classics! Did I see someone else was an IVF success? Sorry, I've totally lost track!

I'm going to wait to join the stats and the FB group until after we've seen the 12 week scan as I'm still really nervous. I'm also going to keep lurking as all your good news stories (and even the 'I feel shocking' stuff) is keeping me going!

Fizzie100 · 01/06/2015 15:14

Metal and Jcandy - so lovely! Only a couple of days to go for me. Terrified doesn't cover it..

Jebel · 01/06/2015 16:16

metal and jcandy fab news.

edinburgh my first was an IVF baby, but this one has come along like a little miracle. I am on progesterone, not suppositories but a drug called Duphaston, for some reason it isn't used in the UK but does the same thing. Hoping I can stop it after my next appointment.

Fizzie not long for you now, fingers crossed.

Thank you for all the lovely good wishes re the harmony test and finding out we are having a boy. Am still hoping my insurance company is going to pay for it!

Who said they felt rubbish immediately after holiday? I am totally shattered and feeling nauseous again, first day back today!

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 01/06/2015 16:26

Midwife appt went well if anyone interested (sometimes feel I'm talking to myself )feel knackered after only half a day at work and got banging head

ineedsomeinspiration · 01/06/2015 16:58

Hi all,

Will catch up fully later when not at work. I have my 20 week scan date of 16th July to add to the stats and also a 34 week growth scan on 22nd October.

Got my downs risk through as low 1:1000, not as low as last time but guess I'm getting an old mummy to be now.

chopsface · 01/06/2015 17:09

I'm listening Sharon! Grin

Next Tuesday will be an exciting day then! How long is the scan appointment approx? Wanted to give work a rough time of when I'll be back in. Has anyone had to wait long over their appointed time with a full bladder?! I was pleased to read that any further scan ie 20w you don't need the full bladder! I've always been pretty good with holding, I'm guessing that might all change post birth!

After feeling so well all day, and hoping to go to the after work yoga I've already paid for in advance, started feeling rank again at around 4.30! No way was I risking hanging around until 5.15 to see if I felt better after eating crisps and missing 2 buses. Getting myself home to rest!

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 01/06/2015 17:11

Sorry I do sometimes feel i use this thread as my personal blog!!

Cheshirehello79 · 01/06/2015 17:30

Those stats are great - an update for you sweet
My 20 week scan is 15th July
Area cheshire
First baby :-)

Cheshirehello79 · 01/06/2015 17:36

Congrats - j candy and all those who had their scans today - it's magic isn't it.

P.s when I'm lying down now if I put my hand on my lower tummy I can feel the heart beat - has anyone tried that ?

Withalittlesparkle · 01/06/2015 17:50

Cheshire please don't take this this wrong way but it's probably not babys heart beat, maybe gas or fluttery movements but not the heartbeat

Cheshirehello79 · 01/06/2015 17:56

Witha little I'm convinced it's the heart beat and sticking to it :-) I've been told from 12 weeks onwards the baby can hear you so everything I feel the heartbeat ( might be fart haha) I say hello to my baba :-)

TreeSparrow · 01/06/2015 18:21

My scan appointment letter says, "you do not need a full bladder". Why do so many seem to need one but mine wouldn't?

My EDD is 12/12 for the stats.

Cheshirehello79 · 01/06/2015 18:34

Tree sparrow - some midwifed will say you don't need full bladder but it's a known theory full bladder gives you clear scan pics . I want told neither on my letter but I did as I was told by people who've been there before and it paid off my scans are great.

TreeSparrow · 01/06/2015 18:39

Ah ok. Thanks for that info.

Metalhead · 01/06/2015 19:05

My scan info also specifically said no need for full bladder, it's changed since I was pg with DD six years ago but the scan pics were still nice and clear. My appointment lasted about 20 minutes chops because baby was being so awkward, then another 10 minute wait plus 20 minutes for bloods because she couldn't find a vein. So I reckon you could be done in half an hour, or it could take up to an hour.

ineedsomeinspiration · 01/06/2015 19:11

I got my downs risk wrong it's less than 1:10000.

chops I had to wait about half an hour after my appointment time until I was seen. My bladder was so full baby was up by my tummy button and the sonographer couldn't get a good pic as baby was a bit squashed. I then had to go for a wee and baby was back at the bottom of my tummy. My actual scan took around 20 minutes but like I say was struggling to get measurements at first. So half an hour wait plus 20 minute scan, our hospital is about 1/2 hour away too.

jebel just seen you've found out the sex, congratulations.

Withalittlesparkle · 01/06/2015 19:25

Treesparrow just don't over fill your bladder, I think they recommend a pint of water during the hour leading up to your scan. The machines they use now are better than those used even a couple of years ago.

MackLin · 01/06/2015 19:37

Hello! I haven't posted for ages... Could someone please add me to the Facebook group if I'd be ok to join? :) I'm Lin, 33, due DC2 around 17th Dec... My scan is next Thursday at 13 weeks.... Aaaaages to wait!
My MB FB group from DC1 (Oct 13) has been truly amazing. If you'll have me I'd love to have some online pals for handholding through this one!
