Noticed we were getting a bit full in the last thread! Roll up, roll up for more scanning, puking, worrying and other distractions to take us through the first trimester! Grin

Jebel hoping your grandmother makes a swift recovery. Great to know so far the care has been good.
Practice nurse(s) managed to get my blood! It took both arms and two very determined nurses but we got there in the end! Grin

shinysparklythings · 28/05/2015 16:34

baby so relieved for you that scan went well, and you had a midwife that made things as easy as could be.

jebel hope your grandmother recovers well.

waiting glad they managed to get the blood!

Congrats to everyone on the good scan news!!!

I'm loving the Thai maternity wear! DM lived in denim dungarees when she was pg with me in the 80s so at least maternity fashions have improved since then! whatsforye I have foolishly let Dsis borrow all my maternity clothes from last time as she is due in October and I feel bad asking for them back. I will make do with leggings and dresses for as long as possible.

I have my booking in appointment tomorrow. Do any second/third timers know if they will still have all my family medical history from last time (wishful thinking I know!) or will I have to go through it all again?

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 28/05/2015 17:46

orange yes, all the history is there thankfully!! And the information from your last pregnancy and birth too which I was surprised about! I learnt today that my last labour was only an hour...I went from 2cm to 10cm in 60 mins!! I remember it being intense, just not that intense!

Fizzie100 · 28/05/2015 17:54

So happy for you baby and sweets that's great news about your cyst moving upwards and more out of the way. Definite scanxiety here despite seeing baby and heartbeat last week at EPU I'm still worried about 12 week one. Hopefully everything will be ok so we can tell both sets of parents next weekend!

abi2790 · 28/05/2015 18:21

Congratulations baby. I'm very glad your scan went well!

orange I had to go through all medical history and previous pregnancy/ labour info. It still didn't take long though.

I have my scan tomorrow! I'm excited as I'm pretty certain that everything will be fine but that still doesn't stop me panicking!

Withalittlesparkle · 28/05/2015 18:48

Positive scan here too, they've moved my due date forward to 6th December, it was a two hour appointment so im shattered

orangemouth281 · 28/05/2015 19:11

Thanks for the replies, I don't mind how long it takes, I'm just hoping I can remember the family history for both sides as I won't have DH with me.

chopsface · 28/05/2015 19:29

Great news on all the scans ladies, and a special mention to babyfaced so glad it all looks normal at this stage. I'm sure baby will be fine x

I think my mum wore dresses similar to the Thai ladies with me Confused she asked me if I was going to wear floaty tops or "those awful tight things people wear these days where you can see their bumps". Hmm

I'm feeling completely awful this evening. Started at about 4.20 this afternoon out of nowhere. Barely made it home on the bus. Severe watery mouth and had to keep swallowing to prevent myself puking on myself. Forced down some beans on toast. Feel the worst I've felt since the one and only puke day over 4 weeks ago! Gonna go to bed already!

claremccrory59 · 28/05/2015 20:39

Glad all went well for you in the end yesterday babyface - what an emotional roller coaster!
I'm also in NI and also had my scan yesterday - don't think they have a 3d scanner in Antrim area hospital though :/

Love the pic of Di - funny how we remember those pics!

Scanxiety.... I like it ;)

Hope everyone's doing ok this evening!

Cx

LabMonkey · 28/05/2015 21:48

Just touching base - 10+2 today so had a scan and Harmony bloods taken. So happy to see a heartbeat and limbs - all looking good and a small provisional nuchal measurement. Two weeks for second scan and blood results.

FlorIxora · 28/05/2015 22:44

Wow major catch up needed!

First of all, major congrats to BabyFaced . So happy for you.

Chops Today has been dire too. Now have aversion to the smell of beer. Had to hold my nose almost every time I went out on the street today. Same in tube. I looked like a weirdo hiding half my face with my scarf. Still not bloody effing Baby-on-board badge.

Chandlers Thank you for that majestic rant and for sharing the beauty of those thai pregnancy smocks. :)

So we had our Harmony test part 1 today - scan first, blood test after. Part 2 will be on 11th June.

I'm 10+3 today and as documented here this week has been trying symptoms-wise. But still when the sonographer put the scan head on my belly and I couldn't see anything for a very long 5-10 secs whilst she was looking around, I went into major panic mode that the bean had gone. And then tada there it is wriggling around like a mad thing! Thr sonographer even poked it around to get it to shift because she couldn't see its front.

The big moment for me today was hearing the heart, I teared up. It's the mostbeautiful music ever. It's real. There's really a baby in there!

Loads more wriggling and the results are: 2 arms, 2 legs, 35 mm in size and a lovely 155 beats per minute. Gestational age is 10.2/10.3 so spot on from last scan (10+2) and dates (10+3).

So here you go one healthy wriggly bean! (and one very nauseous, achy, crampy, blissful pregnant lady).

FlorIxora · 28/05/2015 22:48

LabMonkey Congrats on your scan. Seems like we're date and scan :D

chopsface · 29/05/2015 06:52

Yay flo! X

Woken up feeling like I've been hit by a bus Hmm

Hope you're all well this morning x

chopsface · 29/05/2015 06:53

Oh has anyone seen metalhead? Did she say she was going away?

FlorIxora · 29/05/2015 07:50

Chops Sorry you're feeling rotten again. I have not felt nauseous yet and I have been awake for 1 hour. that's not bad in my book.

Hummingbird15 · 29/05/2015 07:56

Morning! Congrats on your scan flor and I'm so happy for you babyfaced! Exciting times all round.

Well... Other than for those getting a resurgence in symptoms, I've felt nauseous again the last two mornings but not too bad. Glad it's Friday though! Got a weekend with not much planned which is a v nice thought! Although I do worry that DH is probably getting bored of quite what a home-body I'm becoming!

I'm meant to get my harmony results next Friday afternoon but with the new train strike announced I wouldn't be able to get there, so don't know whether to rebook or to hope the strike gets called off!

LabMonkey · 29/05/2015 09:17

flor were you in London for your scan? Everyone else there looked very beautiful, thin and rich. I just sat in the corner reading Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy on my phone feeling intimidated!

afloat · 29/05/2015 09:21

flo hurraaah on the nice scan! I also loved hearing the heartbeat at my 8 week scan. DP and I were kicking ourselves that we didn't record the audio and will be prepared next time. I'm sorry your symptoms are crap - we're almost at the 12 week stage so hang on!

baby I loved hearing your update. I'm so happy that it wired out ok, and you knew the midwife. Also sparkle and clare, great news on the scans.

I'm loving the 80s maternity fashion discussion.

Was just about to post this when suddenly I started retching on my keyboard. I barely made it to the sink and threw up my breakfast. First time, uuuuuuugh. So thankful I'm not back in the office yet.

Sweets27 · 29/05/2015 09:31

Morning all! Smile

I am in SUCH a good mood today, have far too much work to do and will never squeeze it all in before I have to sneak out at 3, but I just DO NOT CARE because I have my 12 week scan today and my DH and I are going to see the little bean, and tomorrow we get to tell the rest of his family, and after that I can share the news with all and sundry Smile

And no scanxiety either because I had my practice run on Weds with the cyst scan.

Aaaanyway. Best of luck to abi, cantthinkofaname87 and scaryfuture who are also being scanned today, and congratulations flora on a really great scan, you must be delighted.

I'm not sure about metalhead but the stats say her scan is on Monday - fingers crossed!

Sorry to hear your still feeling miserable and being sick, afloat Flowers

Metalhead · 29/05/2015 09:31

Hi chops, I'm still here! We're at my parents at the moment and their internet connection is a bit patchy, hence the radio silence. I'm 12 weeks today, scan on Monday and anxiety is definitely setting in again.

Congrats to all who've already had successful scans!

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 29/05/2015 09:43

Morning everyone!!

Thank you all again for the kind messages, ah it is starting to sink in that I might just be taking a baby home with me this time!!

Congrat to sparkle, clare , labmonkey and Flor! I hope I haven't missed anyone, yesterday seems to have been a busy day for us!!

Good luck sweets, abi, cantthink and scary for your scans today! Looking forward to hearing the reports Smile

I am so happy for our wee bunch, you ladies are really such a support to me and I am very excited about the fb group when we can all 'meet' eachother properly!!

Sorry to those of you feeling rough, my symptoms have definitely eased off a lot, I am still wrecked but the nausea is a lot less, still feel a bit bleugh but nothing like how I have been.

We told our families last night, oh my, it was a lovely experience! My nanny (my mum's mum) and I are extremely close and I have been avoiding her this past few weeks because I knew she would twig as soon as she saw me, but when I told her last night she was absolutely delighted!! So many tears were shed yesterday, I'm shocked my face isn't puffed up like a balloon today!

Hattie1983 · 29/05/2015 10:00

Hi everyone I've been lurking for a while. I'm 11 weeks today and getting very impatient! I have scan jealousy!! Mine still feels like an age away! Can I be added to the stats sheet please? I'm 32, edd 18/12/15, scan on the 9/6/15, first one and from the Isle of Wight!

afloat · 29/05/2015 10:01

OK so I've made a very basic Secret Facebook group! Please PM me the email address you use to log into Facebook and I'll add you all.

FlorIxora · 29/05/2015 10:03

LabMonkey I live in London and the clinic is on Harley Street but it's not the most expensive one, they have a research vocation. The crowd is a bit more mixed. I do get my share of thin, rich and beautiful women but some are a bit more like me :).
