Noticed we were getting a bit full in the last thread! Roll up, roll up for more scanning, puking, worrying and other distractions to take us through the first trimester! Grin

Lots of ThanksBrewThanksBrew from me too BabyFaced. Sad you're having to work but very glad your colleagues sound so supportive. Are you going to do something special to mark the day tomorrow? I have heard that this can help some people... Such a personal thing of course. Bon courage lovely xx

Sorry for the radio silence from me by the way! Have been in Taiwan. Going back to Bangkok tomorrow. It's been really cool to explore but my word, the food has been a real bloody challenge. Recovering from that bowel thing at the same time didn't help!! Luckily found somewhere with western food today. Am normally quite adventurous food-wise, especially living in Asia, but as I'm sure many of you will imagine, at the moment the idea of weird Chinese things does not appeal one bit! I'm talking stinky tofu (the worst smell in the world), tureens of rotten fermented eggs in black water (the second worst smell in the world), pig intestine soup, tripe, fermented fish, etc etc. ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfusedConfused

Thinking of you babyface today and tomorrow. Big hugs.

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 25/05/2015 18:51

Thank you so much everyone! Made it safely through the rest of the work day and now home with dh making me fish fingers for tea Grin he's such a good spud!

Chandlers we haven't got any plans, we don't want there to be any pressure on the day, will just take it as it comes. We have ordered flowers for her grave so we will collect those and leave those out. Hopefully it is a nice day weather wise, those may sound strange but I love the grave yard where she is buried. It is in the wee village myself and dh grew up in and it is so old and all higgledy piggledy. It is out in the countryside and every time I'm there all I can hear are the birds chirping and singing, it is such a peaceful place! Even on the day of her funeral I remember feeling such a sense of calm because it was if she had sent the birds to tell us everything would be all right. I sound like a mad woman now, eh?!
Taiwan sounds like a bit of a struggle for a pregnant woman, hope you're having fun though! Even reading through that list of foods makes me feel a bit green, and not with envy!

waiting my symptoms have been easing off the last couple of days. Still have moments where they hit intensely but they are definitely not constant. Thank goodness my scan is on Thurs to check everything is ok.

Hope everyone has had a nice bank holiday!

edinburghdancer · 25/05/2015 22:14

Just checking in to say good night all. Sounds like lots of people having a rough few days so just wanted to send a very big communal hug round, with an extra squeeze for babyfaced.
It's more showers forecast this week in the UK but the sun will shine on us soon in more ways than one.

Sleep tight. xx

Sweets27 · 25/05/2015 22:34

Hello all, just a quick one after a busy bank hol weekend, to say hope you all had a lovely one!

10+1 today and feeling absolutely wretched. Currently on the way back home after vomitting bile at work. I feel so cold too.

Hummingbird15 · 26/05/2015 12:05

Thinking of you babyfaced. Hope you are ok today.

Withalittlesparkle · 26/05/2015 12:43

Thinking of you today babyfaced xxx

I'm still done in from the weekend but less than 48 hours until I get to see my baby again so that's keeping me going

chopsface · 26/05/2015 12:45

Ick how horrible flo did you have breakfast love? Hope you feel better soon x

abi2790 · 26/05/2015 12:47

Thinking of you today babyfaced xx

Just thought I would check in and see how everybody is doing. It's about 74 hours till my scan!

Sweets27 · 26/05/2015 12:50

Hi abi, I'm also counting down til mine!

Actually I've got a scan tomorrow morning which will give me some good reassurance that all is well with the baby, although the focus of the scan is my mega-cyst. They are checking up on its size and I'm talking to the consultant about whether to look at having the cyst removed in the next month or two.

Then "proper" 12 week scan on Friday, yay Smile

flora sorry to hear you are struggling today, rest up and look after yourself at home!

Sweets27 · 26/05/2015 12:59

Oh and welcome cherrypie, have added you to the stats list Smile

chopsface · 26/05/2015 13:03

Two whole week's til my scan! Omg! It's so far away!

ChandlersFarang · 26/05/2015 13:44

BabyFaced the cemetery sounds really pleasant, as these things go. Really hope it goes ok down there for you guys today. Thanks

Sweets, good luck with the consultant and scan tomorrow! Two chances to see your babe in one week, that is at least one little silver lining of the cyst! Lol. I'll be really interested to hear how you get on, so do keep us posted.

I've just got back to Thailand and am really pleased!! Going straight to the shop to buy all the tasty, normal healthy things I have really wanted to eat for the last 4 days but haven't been able to. The final straw came in the airport in Taipei earlier when I'd been really looking forward to a salad-filled veggie delight Subway all day (yep, that was the height of excitement there) and the terminal we flew from wasn't the same as the one we arrived to, and the only thing I could get that wasn't completely disgusting was instant noodles covered in pickled cabbage... Had a meltdown on poor DH about how the poor baby has been sustained on pure salt, MSG and junk food for he last 5 days..! Feel like such a spoilt brat saying this, as obviously being able to travel and visit these amazing places is such a huge treat, but I just couldn't hack it in my current state!! Who can I rant to if not you guys Grin

Same chops - haven't got to see this bean at all! 2 weeks from Thursday till our scan day Sad and time is going sooo slow. Think with feeling rubbish that every day feels longer still!
Flo how long have you had the sickness so far??

Sweets27 · 26/05/2015 14:35

Thanks chandlers, and well done for surviving Taiwan! I wouldn't worry too much about the baby just over that 4 day period - midwives have already advised me that the baby takes what it needs from your reserves, and it's only you who suffers a bit if you're not getting the right nutrition for a short period of time. A bit like when you have serious morning sickness and can't keep anything down - baby will still get what it needs.

shinysparklythings · 26/05/2015 14:46

chandlers well done on surviving tawain. I don't know how you coped with the smells!

chops yokyill I have my 12 week scan tomorrow. Will be the first time I've seen bean, it has been so slow coming and I am counting down the hours. Stay patient, pregnancy is all about waiting!

We currently have builders putting up scaffolding and the noise is driving me irrationally mad!

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 26/05/2015 14:51

Hello all. Hope all is as well as can be expected for everyone.
Luckily the hyperemesis has started tailing off only to be replaced with alternating extreme constipation and diarrhoea. Joy.
Bit miffed I'm 11 weeks today and still not seen midwife. Was meant to be yesterday so didn't make any plans for bank holiday but midwife had to cancel due to having a home birth. She said someone else would come today. So I've sat waiting and nothing. Rang to check and the person who was meant to be coming has gone off sick. So the original midwife has said she will ask a colleague if they can fit me in as she can't! I wouldn't be bothered but I feel very tired and short of breath like in anaemic so could do with having bloods done at least! Grr

Jebel · 26/05/2015 15:04

Abi hope the pain has eased. I also had spd. I have been ok so far but did swim a bit of breaststroke yesterday and can feel a bit of nagging pain today. Not long til your scan!

Babyfaced thinking of you, the grave sounds so lovely.

Chops and Yokyil days feel like weeks waiting for a scan but it's not too long, exciting!

Sweets and shinysparkly good luck tomorrow!

Chandlers gotta love Chinese food! I've been breaking all the rules. I ate what can best be described as squid jerky today, it was delicious and then I suddenly thought hmmmm....maybe I shouldn't have this. They also had dried fish crisps which were also very tasty but slightly weird.

I have been feeling much better although nausea came back today, kind of reassuring though!

Don't swim breaststroke ladies, my sister sent me a message reminding me, many of my friends have had problems as a result. My sister and I both had spd (basically when the gap in the pelvis widens too much) and it is agony! I just got it, it wasn't from breaststroke. I could hardly walk some mornings or when I got up to pee in the middle of the night although usually got better later in the day. Somehow I had forgotten about it! Anyway, it is bound to come back Sad.
