Noticed we were getting a bit full in the last thread! Roll up, roll up for more scanning, puking, worrying and other distractions to take us through the first trimester! Grin

Sharon that's so annoying! It's bad enough being kept waiting for a delivery, let alone something as important as this. Hope they do fit you in.

Thanks shiny - I did vom when I got home because our apartment is next to one of Bangkok's stinking khlongs (I.e. a stagnant ditch!) and the charming stench caught me by surprise!! GrinGrin Much like you Flor just bile. Sorry to hear you're suffering!! I'm finding I just need to vom every now and then, and once I've done it I feel fine. No all day nausea which is nice.

Thanks for your reassuring words, Sweets!! SmileSmileSmileSmile I really hope the reserves haven't been replaced with some chemicals from the weird things, lol!! Just made myself the most amazing heritage tomato salad with balsamic vinegar... Loving vinegar at the mo and this is a healthy way to indulge!! Feeling better already!! Grin

Exciting times with the scans coming up ladies, looking forward to hearing how everyone gets on!!

Hi Jebel! X-post. Are you enjoying your holiday?! The dining and swimming sound fab, even if you shouldn't be doing either!! Lol. Never heard that before about breast stroke... Have been doing a bit of it here whilst we still have a pool nearby. I'm too crap a swimmer to attempt a front crawl session... it knackers me out! Shock

Thanks for the tips on breaststroke jebel. I've had similar advice from my pilates instructor - no hip adduction exercises, so basically no spreading your legs or twisting/opening your pelvis during exercises, because the ligaments around there are getting loose and easy to strain.

Also, I feel the need to share with you lovely ladies that I went for a quick shop at lunch to find some new work clothes to accommodate the bloat/fat definitely not baby bump yet (usual trousers and skirts proving rather uncomfortable!), and bought my first ever maternitywear. I felt like a big fraud nosing through Topshop's maternity section without a big shiny bump, but WOW am I glad I did. I have purchased the most amazing black maternity jeans with a nice fat elasticated waist. They fit me now and are quite flattering, and look like they'll stretch a lot and still fit me in several months' time. They are SO comfortable, I feel like maternity jeans are the best kept secret - wish I had the excuse to wear them all the time! Grin

shinysparklythings · 26/05/2015 15:58

Hi jebel hope you are having a good time. My midwife told me at booking in that I'm not allowed to do breaststroke legs! although I'm not allowed to anyway because of my knees

sweets glad you've found some comfy clothes. I'm thinking of looking later this week once I've had scan. I have a definite bump going on! Good luck for your scan fx the cyst has shrunk!

shinysparklythings · 26/05/2015 16:01

P.s. When I say a definite bump I'm not necessarily claiming baby, but it looks like a proper baby bump not just bloat!

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 26/05/2015 16:32

Afternoon everyone!

Thank you all so much for kind thoughts and messages. Today has not been anywhere nearly as difficult as I thought it would have. There is a sense of feeling quite proud that DH and I have made it through this past year and come out the other side stronger than ever, wither our little dd in our hearts every day.

We had a delivery of flowers this morning from my work which was so touching. And the flowers I had ordered for the grave turned out beautifully too, a gorgeous arrangement with oranges, pinks, yellows and beautiful purple gerbera. We left them out and the birds were chirping and singing away as usual. Then DH and I went out for a nice lunch and then round the shops! So it has been a pleasant day for me and DH to have some quality time together.

Still haven't managed to get any casual clothes though I did get a really cute raincoat! Am going to hit asos this evening and order a bunch of stuff.

thank you all again, you really are a lovely bunch Smile

chopsface · 26/05/2015 17:02

babyfaced sounds like the perfect way to remember dd. Big hugs x

Hmm the odd vom versus all day nausea? I've no idea what iwould prefer as I hate vomming with a passion but the all day nausea is very grinding. Anyway, it doesn't matter what I would prefer, I've got the nausea so lumping it.

Also just have fat lol! No idea when to start shopping for maternity trousers. Been too nauseous to go shopping this weekend and way too nauseous to go after work to the mall, just need to get home and eat and flop on sofa. Not sure if any of the shops at the mall have maternity sections I'd probably have to go to town town which is an hour on the bus each way, can't be doing with that at the moment!

orangemouth281 · 26/05/2015 19:24

Hello everyone, I haven't posted much due to being on holiday last week but I have been reading. Good luck to all those with scans coming up, I'm very jealous as I haven't seen a midwife yet!

babyfaced glad to hear your day wasn't as difficult as you thought.

Sorry to all those still suffering with nausea and vomiting.

I made it through the holiday without feeling unwell at all and now I'm back I feel terrible again, so basically I've decided I need more holidays! We didn't even get nice weather in Italy so it's not like I can blame the weather here. The food was amazing so I didn't have the same problem as you chandlers, I actually ate healthier than I do here (just more of it!). There was a lot of cheese and I was a bit worried I ate something I shouldn't have. I survived bridesmaid duties and even fit into my dress although I have a definite bump (fat not baby!). We ended up telling all of DHs family about the pregnancy because they noticed my bulging belly in my bikini and they would have questioned why I didn't touch a drop of alcohol all week, especially on the wedding day.

I have resorted to wearing leggings as jeans are too uncomfortable, and I'm struggling with what to wear to work when I go back tomorrow as I don't want everyone to know. You definitely show earlier the second time round!

I swam breaststroke all the way through my last pregnancy as I didn't know you weren't supposed to, oops.

chopsface · 26/05/2015 19:31

I felt really good on my holiday 2 weeks ago too and felt bloody awful from the moment we touched down in Britain again! How bizzare. Do you think mediteranean woman suffer less than british?! That would be intetesting! Lol. Glad you had a nice time :-)

I was going to start up swimming again when I get my energy back and lose the nausea (when? Should I say if?!) I only do breast stroke! Maybe I could do breast stroke arms and kick my legs?! Confused

orangemouth281 · 26/05/2015 19:38

I have that problem too chops I only do breast stroke. That's just another excuse for me to do no exercise and be lazy!

ineedsomeinspiration · 26/05/2015 19:43

babyfaced glad you had a good day.

I've had 5 days to myself as dh has taken ds to visit his family. Didn't use the time to relax as much as i should have though. Scan day tomorrow and get my ds back home.

I feel huge with bloat, fat, bump etc. Dh keeps mentioning I'm getting fat which I hate. I have told him but he says its ok because I'm pregnant. Obviously need to work harder on letting him know how much its upsetting me.
On the plus side I'm sure I've felt the bubbles you get when baby moves a couple of times. I didn't feel anything till over 20 weeks last time but I'm sure it's what it was.

shinysparklythings · 26/05/2015 19:46

Glad you had a good holiday orange

I went to the gym with Dh, then just before my classes my stomach decided to explode! I left Dh to do the classes and I've been lying on my pil's sofa! Need to go and pick him up in a minute. serves me right for scoffing a whole malt loaf earlier

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 26/05/2015 19:49

Chops and orange - can you ask any of the staff at the pool if they can lend you a float? That way at least you could push it out in front of you and just kick your legs. That's what I plan on doing once I get some energy back!

chopsface · 26/05/2015 20:15

Great idea babyfaced! There is actually a box of floats/armbands and those long rubber sausage things next to the pool for anyone's use posh health club member

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 26/05/2015 20:20

Happy days chops! Sure you can do a few lengths then float around elegantly with a noodle Grin ps jealous of your membership, we don't even have any health clubs where I live!

DH and I are off for a weekend away this coming weekend to Derry/Londonderry, or as we call it, Stroke City. We're staying in a lovely hotel right in the centre and they have a pool and jacuzzi, sauna, steam room etc. I plan on floating around the pool and that's really it I suppose seeing as we're not supposed to do jacuzzis et al! I know the risk is if our body temp gets too high so if the jacuzzi wasn't hot but at a normal temp do you think that would be ok?

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 26/05/2015 20:44

Jacuzzi's carry an infection risk at any time but you are more prone when pregnant.
Mind you I spent an hour in one when four weeks pg- had no idea at that point though

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 26/05/2015 21:05

Sharon good point about the infection, I forgot about that risk. I will steer clear then to be on the safe side.

Pregnancy is a minefield!

Yokyil · 26/05/2015 21:27

Sounds lovely babyfaced we're for the golf this week in Newcastle - far less glam and lots of walking / fighting all day nausea/ carrying a bag full of snacks I think I might be able to eat!!! Floating about in a pool sounds much more enjoyable!
Had a moment last week walking up a hill where it felt like my thigh bone had popped outta my hip ((obv hadn't but just felt that way)) had to walk very slow and it passed about 5 mins later. I dunno if all these wee things are pregnancy related or just me being a weirdo Hmm

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 26/05/2015 21:44

I get that too Yokyil, it started following my last pregnancy because of the ligaments getting all stretchy! Are you from NI too then? I wouldn't have minded going to the golf, but the walking and standing about just isn't my cup of tea at the minute. My dh was supposed to be doing the Londonderry marathon on Sunday though he's injured so we're just going to chill instead!

Yokyil · 26/05/2015 22:05

I'm thinking the fresh air will do me good - but the tiredness and feeling sick all day is really grinding. But it's all for the greater good Smile yep in NI too - relaxing sounds so much more enjoyable than a marathon!!! Good choice Grin

Hummingbird15 · 26/05/2015 22:10

I got home tonight at 7.15pm from work to finally find a booking appointment.... for tomorrow! Talk about not giving much notice! Thankfully it's for 7pm (never realised they could be so late) so hopefully i can slip out of work half an hour early and get there in time without needing to actually ask for time off.

Reading all your experiences I think I have been really lucky in terms of nausea and sickness, but I do find some mornings that I just feel a bit wobbly and emotional - anyone else? Nearly cried at work this morning when the first thing I did was listen to a complaint on the answerphone!

chopsface · 27/05/2015 06:52

I got a days notice for my booking in too humming! And yes the waterworks have started here too! My eyes seem to be leaking at anything!

Woken up feeling really sick and tired today. Sat in bed forcing down shreddies. Did say I might start later and finish later in work today but I usually feel so bad just after 5 that I just can't win! Evenings are bloody awful nausea wise!

Anyone getting scanned today? Good luck if you are, can't remember Blush x

shinysparklythings · 27/05/2015 07:08

hummingbird at least you finally have an appt at a time that you can get there! must be frustrating with so little notice though.

I have been not particularly emotional, early on I think I was but my grandad died the week I got BFP so it's all a bit blurred. The only time recently I properly blubbed full on snotty crying was watching the last song

Oh my word, I have had so little sleep with nerves. 1.5 hours till I get to see my little bean for the first time. Feel really sick, but sure it's just nerves!

Good luck to sweets and ineed whom I believe are also scanning today. X

Withalittlesparkle · 27/05/2015 07:12

Good luck shiny! Today's scan should help with a little bit of clarity!!

My scan is tomorrow Grin so excited to see baby again!!

WaitingForEgg · 27/05/2015 07:32

Hi everyone sounds like lots of scans are approaching!
I finally have booking in today with Midwife as had to cancel last week due to having flu. Seem to be mostly ok now apart from a bit of cough.
I'm mid exam week and really struggling with tiredness. Been comfort eating while revising as well as usual increased pregnancy hunger, definitely piling on the pounds Blush Going to invest in some maternity jeans soon.
Thanks for the tips re exercise. I've been doing lots of leg lifting exercises as part of my pilates DVD so must stop that immediately! Anyone know what exercise is most recommended for pregnancy? Walking I guess?
My DH bought me a beautiful box of chocolate yesterday to cheer me up on this stressful week and I have already eaten half. I need to go out and buy some fruit...
