Noticed we were getting a bit full in the last thread! Roll up, roll up for more scanning, puking, worrying and other distractions to take us through the first trimester! Grin

hellsbells what a lovely scan pic. I too know nothing about nub theory as I don't want to know what flavour my bean is.

missmrs I feel exactly the same but for weds! Busy scan week on the thread!

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 22/05/2015 20:29

Oh hellsbells that's a fantastic scan! So clear! And thanks for your thoughts.

Flor glad you've a smile on your face now, other things I've cried at this week include the U.S. version of The Office, it is hilarious but for some reason makes me cry like a mad woman Hmm haven't cried at any tv ads though so that's something at least Grin

Thank you Mrs good luck for Tues!

shinysparklythings · 22/05/2015 20:35

Word of warning! I've just watched "the last song" and was full on crying! I quite enjoyed the ever so predictable romance, but it made me properly blub!

Andifyoudontfirstsucceed · 22/05/2015 21:45

Hello all,

Finally have a scan date for Wednesday - so cannot wait to see my little one again - only 4 and a half days to go - feels like a lifetime!! Smile

Hummingbird15 · 22/05/2015 22:54

Thank you for all your replies to my moaning this morning, good to hear I'm not the only one struggling to get excited yet. Edinburgh your m-i-l sounds like hard work!!

babyfacedassasin we'll all be thinking of you and your dd in 4 days time. I can't imagine the extra very understandable worries that you have until 20 weeks but will keep everything tightly crossed for you.

Sweets thanks for doing the stats, I'm not too sure what you need, but I'm 34, it's my first pregnancy, live in London and due date is 16 Dec.

We went for a harmony test today, bean was wriggling away in the scan which is such a relief to see. We'll get the results back in 2 weeks time and I am just keeping everything crossed for a 1 in 10,000 result for all three trisomies. I STILL don't have anything through from the hospital for a booking appt so am now really relieved that we went for harmony test as otherwise I think I'd be going frantic that I'm very likely to miss the windowsill for my nhs 12 week scan.

ThreeBeanRap · 22/05/2015 23:43

chops we didn't have the downs screening scan. It wouldn't affect a decision for us either way and so I didn't want to be unnecessarily stressed if the risk level was high and it all turned out fine.

hellsbells congrats!!! So exciting! Gorgeous pic.

flor I'm the same, trying to ignore all nub theory stuff as I really don't want to know! If I don't know anything I can't see anything on my scan pic Smile

chopsface · 23/05/2015 07:49

I have no idea what you lot are talking about with nub theory I'm afraid! Lol!

Yes hellsbells I'm in Bristol too :-) great scan pic!

Me and dh don't know what to do about the nt downs test. We are booked to have it as we were still undecided at the midwife appointment so she said she'd order it and we can cancel before. It won't affect our decision so I don't know if we should cancel it?! Argh!?

shinysparklythings · 23/05/2015 08:38

chops me and dh discussed the nt and although it won't change anything, it will at least give us time to be prepared.

ineedsomeinspiration · 23/05/2015 09:05

Morning all, scan day 4 days and counting for me.

That blog link made me cry, it's how I felt and everyone else with new babies was all full of how wonderful it was. I felt like I was from another planet. I have no idea how I'd have got through those early weeks without dh, my mum and best friend. I've come to the conclusion now though that a lot of new mums only share the good bits and put on a brave face. DS was very colicky and cried a lot and slept very little. I'm hoping for one those sleepy happy babies this time. If not well me and DS are still here.

We will be having the nt scan, I would like to be prepared for the baby having possibly downs if that us the result. I don't think I'd have any invasive tests though.

claremccrory59 · 23/05/2015 11:12

Hi ladies
Excuse my stupidity but how do I upload scan photos on here? I presume I can't upload them from the App...
I've had my 9 week scan and having my 12 week scan on Wednesday :)
Thanks! Cx

shinysparklythings · 23/05/2015 11:30

I think you need to be on the actual website clare underneath where you type messages there are options to add files.

My 12 week is on weds too :)

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 23/05/2015 12:08

Ladies, help me out! What are you all wearing these days? I definitely do not have a bump yet but I do have a fair bit of bloat going on and so my jeans just are not comfortable. I don't like wearing just leggings, I feel very exposed! Looks like it's going to have to be dresses but with our crazy weather Its hard to know what to go for! Argh! At least when you've a proper bump it is easier to dress but I really hate this in between stage. I may have had a hormotional melt down to DH earlier...and don't get me started on the lack of choice in the shops Angry

shinysparklythings · 23/05/2015 12:24

babyface pyjamas are my friend!

For work i always wear legging and a dress, now up two sizes in leggings.

Then these trousers (I have a few different pairs) are really comfy whilst still being fine for public.

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 23/05/2015 12:50

Haha Shiny, I currently live in my pjs when I'm at home, and have also turned into a hermit solely because pjs are not acceptable in public! My workwear wardrobe is the same as yours so I'm fine in that department, it's just casual clothes where I am really struggling! Oooh I like those trousers through not sure if they would suit me, I'm a dumpy 5ft2 and wide leg trousers don't do me any favours, thanks for the suggestion though Smile DH is going to take me shopping on Tuesday bless him, probably more so because he's fed up listening to me moan! Going to have a nosy round that website though.

chopsface · 23/05/2015 15:10

I've no idea what clothes to wear! Living in my jeggings this week but I'm not sure they will last much longer. Not a clue where to shop or what for. Meh.

WaitingForEgg · 23/05/2015 15:55

BabyFaced
Mostly leggings with a dress, not too hot but plenty of room for bloat!
I wore jeans the other day and felt awful, had to undo them and pull my top down to cover as felt so uncomfortable.
Will invest in maternity Jeggings soon I think

FlorIxora · 23/05/2015 18:37

BabyFaced I had a chat with one of my friend who has had a baby recently. She says what I'm wearing now will be very much the same as what I'll wear 2-3 months after the birth (before full weightloss but after bump disappears). Leggings + dresses, Leggings + floaty tops. Not the height of fashion but does the job. I was very naughty and went to Allsaints and bought an impossible drapey dress that hides my front but still shows off my bum. Super comfy, very stylish. (tad spensive Blush )

Humming lovely to hear about your scan. :)

So I had my booking in this morning. The midwife was lovely and she was quite fast and efficient so it didn't take the whole morning. The downside is I'll probably won't see her much again. That's the sucky bit of the NHS I guess. She took loads of blood from me and it was amazingly pain-free. I am very impressed. She was just the kind of woman I'd love to be in charge of my care: almost old enough to be my mum and very easy and smiley. I miss her already.

Massive plus side of the hospital we have chosen is there is a french deli just outside. And you all know how much I love my pain au chocolat...

abi2790 · 23/05/2015 20:02

Evening ladies. Hope you're all having a good start to the bank holiday!

Re clothing I normally wear leggings anyway so I'm alright. It's tops that bug me. I don't like anything that squashes my tummy too much at the minute.

Just had a big Domino's and about to watch Eurovision. We have a friend over too so have crisps and other snacks. I'm going to be so bloated tomorrow!

Dp and friend are drinking so I'm feeling very left out!

Scan in 6 days!!

chopsface · 23/05/2015 20:17

Just had a pizza too before Eurovision Abi :-)

You mean to tell me leggings and floaty tops aren't height of fashion? Whoops! Lol ShockBlushGrin

claremccrory59 · 23/05/2015 22:21

Thanks shiny :) I'll try and upload scans in Wednesday. Hope to see yours ok there too!

I have a few long slim fitting stretchy dresses from primark that I'm wearing with a baggy blouse over it. No digging in to the waist as it's a dress so all good :)

Withalittlesparkle · 24/05/2015 00:31

I survived my bridesmaid duties, now looking forward to relaxing and catching up with the thread

hellsbells552 · 24/05/2015 07:49

Ooh Flor which dress did you get from Allsaints? I need some retail therapy!

FlorIxora · 24/05/2015 09:13

Morning - I hope it's as beautiful where you live as it in London.

hellsbells www.allsaints.com/women/dresses/allsaints-ayla-se-dress/?colour=2765&category=22

I got it in black because the beautiful poppy colour was a bit see-through and I like to be able to wear my fancy dresses for work. It hides a multitude of sins but because it's silk and just above the knee, I felt feminine and almost sexy (ignoring the bloat, the nausea and the weird acne on my boobs nowhere else...)

Withalittlesparkle did the dress fit ok? You must be knackered.

abi I have this new friday evening envy when I see everyone heading for the pub for a cold one. Did you have a nice soft drink to substitute?

chopsface · 24/05/2015 09:36

I'm not missing alcohol as such. Not been out on an evening yet anyway, apart from our holiday. That was a bit odd as I would always order a wine usually! I was getting a bit bored of orange/apple juice (can't stomach coke etc).

Erm is that dress really £148?! What do you do for a living?! Lol! I was hoping for clothes around the £20 mark as I is poor Wink

Everyone enjoying the weekend thus far? Me and dh are still in bed watching Saturday kitchen to see if there is anything without soft cheese and liver lol!

BabsUnited · 24/05/2015 09:38

I've been drinking San Pellegrino sparkling water with lime cordial. Hardly miss the gin yeah right

I have been feeling more and more sick as the days go by. Can only stomach small meals and have cravings for cereal with cold milk, mainly childhood faves such as rice crispies or shredded wheat.

Might bite the bullet and try and buy some comfier clothes today. Have been living in my jeans but they feel tight across the tummy and it's making me feel all funny and weird HmmConfused

I have one pair of maternity leggings left from last time but they have a hole in the knee so need to replace. I found Topshop good for mat leggings last time, lasted the longest of the few brands I tried and looked the best, not see through or patchy, good quality.

I did a huge wardrobe cull when we moved and have virtually nothing to wear over leggings (all tshirts and cardigans, so stuff I need to have decent bum coverage for like jeans) so might try and pick up a few bits today too.

Sunny here by the sea today, think we will go for a family bike ride and stop for an ice cream Smile

Hope everyone is enjoying their bank holiday!
