Noticed we were getting a bit full in the last thread! Roll up, roll up for more scanning, puking, worrying and other distractions to take us through the first trimester! Grin

I'm on a mad diary spree, hoping it counter balances all the crackers!!'
Portions have shrunk massively though so hoping that will counteract any additional calories. I'm not too concerned though. I gained a fair bit with DS but did loose it

Yokyil · 20/05/2015 20:07

Has everyone been eating healthy and exercising much?? With feeling nauseous my food intake has been terrible Sad all the pages and pages of recommended foods to eat in the first trimester I've managed a handful! Feel so bad Confused and haven't started taking any of my pregnacare yet

ineedsomeinspiration · 20/05/2015 20:30

I have not been eating particularly healthy. Although I have over the last week or so made a conscious effort to get my five a day at least. Other than walking the dog no exercise, I'm too bloody shattered. My last pregnancy I was really worried about weight gain, stretch marks etc but this time not half as bothered. Anyone else feel like that with thier second?

chopsface · 20/05/2015 21:22

I have not been able to exercise from feeling too nauseous and if I'm not too nauseous I'm too tired! As for eating healthy... The weeks between 6 and 9 I have been eating so badly! Couldn't stomach fruit or veg, except in orange juice form! This week I have been trying harder. Cooked veg yesterday and have been eating tinned fruit and dried apricots as snacks instead of ginger biscuits! Have eaten some chicken and fish this week too instead of pasta and potato.

Evening nausea just kicked in. Going to bed now, so is the dh as he has sympathy nausea.... Hmm

MissMrsMummy · 20/05/2015 22:23

I have been trying to eat healthily but have the occasional slip-up! Today I just HAD to buy some jelly beans! flor I'm desperate for a pain au chocolat (or two) now! I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow so I will ask her about calories, how much sugar etc. also worried if I'm getting enough calcium? Can't drink milk when I feel sick!

Exercise-wise I'm not doing enough as too tired/sick after work but have done maybe 3 walks (30 mins) per week.

ChandlersFarang · 21/05/2015 06:04

Well done everyone!! Sounds like we are all trying our best SmileSmileSmile it's a total slog isn't it but it won't go on forever!!

Jebel I wish I was going to Phuket instead of Taiwan!! Could really do with some luxuriant chilling rather than city sightseeing, urg! I quite like watching the rainclouds and lightening in Phuket, it's super dramatic and you get some incredible sunsets. You will get a bit of sun too for sure!! Enjoy!!

So I've got myself into a right old pickle... Was having a good day yesterday aside from one v bad episode of diahorrea (sorry!!) and then woke up this morning and my entire bowel was in crippling pain! The whole thing is aching. I've had the opposite of constipation for weeks now but not often... I've since read that Pregnacare prenatals contain a mild laxative!! Which I did NOT need!! I'm convinced those plus all the salad and veggies I've been diligently eating have basically ruined me. Gonna switch to a folic acid only tablet for a few days to see if it improves. Fell asleep again after drama and then woke up totally dehydrated and empty, which provoked a double puke fest! Fucks sake! Now off work trying to put myself back together. First trimester is a right old laugh isn't it!!! GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin Hope everyone else is less of a sorry state of affairs today!

Chandlers funny you should say that my stomach has been awful for trapped wind and other nasties since starting to take pregnacare so I've stopped taking it and feel so much better!!

Metalhead · 21/05/2015 07:49

I honestly think you don't need to worry about eating crap and not exercising when you're feeling sick, it won't last forever (hopefully!) and then we can all go back to living more healthily in the next 2 trimesters. With DD I couldn't face any fruit and are half a pack of hot cross buns every day at first, but once the nausea passed I went back to eating normally. My weight gain remained in the recommended range overall, and I lost it all quite quickly afterwards thanks to breast feeding. So relax ladies, and have some Cake if you fancy it!

shinysparklythings · 21/05/2015 07:54

Oh no chandlers. Hopefully switching to just folic acid will help with the downstairs. Do you need to take vit d too, or is it sunny enough where you are?

I actually found my nausea subsided whilst I was at the gym, and I'm starting to have more energy. Will be 12 weeks sat so hopefully you guys will start feeling a bit better soon. In terms of eating I'm eating the healthiest I have in a while, have completely gone of chocolate, and cake and ice cream.

I'm normally at work my now, but this morning when my alarm went off, I thought I'd snoozed it. I woke up an hour later! Meetings don't start till 8.40 and ict have my laptop anyway, just means I'll sit in traffic.

Hope everyone else's day starts better than mine! :)

chopsface · 21/05/2015 08:21

I'm a little worried today :-( wondering if I should bother the midwife or am I just overreacting? I have odd cramps which feel uterus-y. Low and central prickly crushing pain. Intermittent, like I imagine a contraction or something. Had something similar yesterday at times and during the night the night before Confused

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 21/05/2015 08:31

Oh chops hopefully it is nothing. It might just be stretching or growing pains? My friend had these really severely at the start of her pregnancy and was over at the EPU a number of times about them. Though everything is fine for her so far and she is 18 weeks now.
If you're worried definitely ring your midwife, it is better to have peace of mind that to worry.

MarkingMyPlace9 · 21/05/2015 09:02

Hi Chops I keep on getting 'Streching Pains' but there not really painful, just achy. Kinda like I used to feel when I had AF, it's probably just something like that. But if your really worried, or want to put your mind at ease. Call your Midwife, you won't be wasting any time - Thats what there there for!! Hope you feel better soon x

chopsface · 21/05/2015 09:12

Its not a dull ache like af, its more sharper. I'll see how the next few hours go....

Feeling sick and tired this morning and have to work until 6 today. Urgh.

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 21/05/2015 09:31

Chops that sounds exactly like how my friend was, she said that sometimes they took her breath away they were that sharp.
Hope the day passes quickly and smoothly for you.

Sweets27 · 21/05/2015 09:45

Argh chandlers that sounds like a horrible day, you poor thing! Good move getting a pain a chocolat.

chops I am sure everything's ok, but a call to your midwife or visit to EPU will probably put your mind at rest. I've had some weird pains from time to time right in the middle of my stomach where my belly button is, when I stretch or arch my back - like a cross between wind and pulling a muscle. Anyone else had something similar?!

Metalhead · 21/05/2015 11:31

chops I sometimes get sharp pains when I cough, and have also had other weird Braxton-Hicks-like cramps at times. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, but if you need some reassurance from a medical professional give your mdiwife a call.

abi2790 · 21/05/2015 11:45

Good morning ladies.

I'm having the day from hell! My nausea has really vamped up. It did the same in the last couple of weeks of the 1st trimester with ds so I'm expecting it to get so bad I can't eat. To top that off I can't order my online grocery shopping because Natwest have cancelled our card due to having a new one sent out in the post as the last one wasn't working. So stupid!! We can't do any shopping as it's the only card we have (I have another one but it's electron and most don't accept it, plus I can't find it as I never use it!). So we barely have no food in the house and ds is off sick from nursery so it's not like he can get a good meal there. I'm so upset and stressing out and dp is just like "the new one will be here tomorrow stop worrying". It annoys me he's so laid back! He doesn't think "hmmm what will abi and ds eat whilst I'm at work?" or "what are we going to have for tea?" Gahh, men! Anyway sorry for the rant! I'm just so stressed and being preggers isn't helping with my emotions!

WaitingForEgg · 21/05/2015 12:16

Oh abi how annoying. I don't know if it's practical but if you go into the bank with ID they may allow you to make a small withdrawal? Just to see you through until the card arrives?
Chops if you are worrying definitely speak to the midwife, all that extra stress isn't good for baby and that is what she is there for afterall.
Chandlers i've had the craziest digestion too. I have IBS anyway but its been absolutely nuts for the past few weeks. I'm either constipated or the opposite and nothing I do seems to help, think i'll just have to wait it out and hope it improves.
My hacking cough still isn't subsiding. I feel bad for poor little bean being bashed about every time I have a coughing fit.
Now I REALLY want a Pain au chocolat.....

Yokyil · 21/05/2015 13:34

Am with you on the dodgy bowels - I get overcome with a sense of needing to go - Now!!!! Then when I go I can't Confused the nausea is still there but maybe not as obvious as last week, am able to nibble on things but will get waves of it that will put me right off anything but water. Gonna try to attempt some soup and a roll fx

Sweets27 · 21/05/2015 13:45

waiting I worry too sometimes when I cough or sneeze, for poor little bean. That said, apparently they're pretty tough and very well cushoined.

Someone just shared this on my FB feed:

likereallifeblog.com/2015/05/17/life-with-a-newborn-expectation-vs-reality/

What are we letting ourselves in for?!?!

chopsface · 21/05/2015 13:53

Lol sweets I read that yesterday off my FB feed too! Eeek!

Decided not to call the midwife, I'll see how it goes. Been to busy at work to even remember if they've gone or not! Work messed up big time with where I was on the Rota, allowing me to be in situations where I'm not meant to be whilst pregnant. The senior said he wouldn't swap me as people would ask questions so to muddle round it as best I could! So without telling the entire dept I still had to tell one person so they could cover for me. Its been hard! So pissed off!

Thought I was gonna vom on the bus this morning, felt lightheaded and sweaty. Then I get into work to this kerfuffle, and working in a particularly smelly dept. I'm stressed and sweaty and I'm sure my pits reek!

WaitingForEgg · 21/05/2015 15:15

Sweets Oh god I just read that blog post Shock
I think I am still going to plead ignorance or I may start to panic!
I just had to look at cute baby clothes to cheer myself up... maybe have some Cake too eughhhh

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 21/05/2015 15:38

I'm a bit worried about whohasmovedmyvodka, has anyone seen her about?

Another one suffering with bowel issues, am rather bunged up and in agony with the bloating and trapped wind. Look easily 7 months pregnant today. And tomorrow is a casual clothes day in work and don't know if I will be able to wear my jeans because my stomach is so swollen Sad

hellsbells552 · 21/05/2015 15:59

chops I've been getting sharp pains too - so I looked it up and it seems quite common, people have even given it a nickname: 'lightning crotch'!! It stopped me in my tracks walking to work yesterday, pretty scary.
