Noticed we were getting a bit full in the last thread! Roll up, roll up for more scanning, puking, worrying and other distractions to take us through the first trimester! Grin

Hello to all the new ladies. Grin

Congratulations on the scan bean. I am getting very impatient for mine. Sweets like you I just want to tell everyone and make it real. Also wondering how accurate my due date is. My last period was very weird. Only lasted 4 days whereas I'm usually a week and it was so light I only had to wear one panty liner all day and then nothing at night. Also symptoms disappeared last few days which didn't happen till around 16 weeks (sorry ladies) last time. On the other hand it may have just been a really odd cycle having just recently come of birth control.

TerryTheGreenHorse · 19/05/2015 21:03

I'm rubbish at not telling people, I haven't told work though I am dreading that. Ive only been there 6 months and so I feel awful.

claremccrory59 · 19/05/2015 21:41

Thanks Sweets :)

I think I've gained a few pounds already (11 weeks tomorrow) cos I'm a human dustbin and just constantly hungry! I haven't vomited - just nausea which I am eating through!
I've started using the fitness pal app for calorie counting to try and make sure I don't put on too much weight.
But I'm not sure how many calories I should try and stick to - I weigh 12 stone, so I reckon about 2000 cals per day (sedentary job) sounds reasonable.
Any suggestions??

Cx

MissMrsMummy · 19/05/2015 21:48

clare I weight a bit less than you and my fitness pal tells me 1900 is right for me. So I'd say 2000 would be ok for you. It's so useful for tracking sugar. I'm amazed by how much I eat without realising! I'm having to try so hard to keep it down!

chopsface · 19/05/2015 22:04

Feeling rotten tonight too jebel I have 'evening sickness'. I had quite a good day at work today. Even had a few energy bursts! I am also a human dustbin Clare, eating through my nausea. I am not calorie counting though, what will be will be! Does anyone know if the hunger continues in the 2nd trimester?! I will be as big as a house!

Woke at 3am to pee last night and felt so unbelievablely sick! Was awful. When I got back into bed it was like I was on the sea! Yeurch! wasn't sick though, nibbled on some dried fruit and drifted off eventually. Feel like that now though too.

ChandlersFarang · 20/05/2015 05:32

Bloody nightmare this trimester isn't it!! I had a shocker of a time from Monday eve until last night (double puke yesterday! That was a first) and then woke up feeling alright again today, just got back from the gym! I'm not even going to bother trying to work it out. Lol. Hope you're feeling a bit better Jebel, I was incapable of posting on here yesterday. Had a bit of browse nausea myself, so caught up just now. Welcome to the newbies!! Grin

Growing more and more terrified of my long weekend away with DH in Taiwan this weekend. There's going to be so much weird Chinese-type street food everywhere smelling pungent... Going to steal the sick bags off the plane!

Sweets you're doing an amazing job with the stats. Can you update my location to London (precisely one month til I move back home to normal temperatures, food, and seeing/telling family/friends... I'm literally counting down the minutes!! Lol). Also my 12 week scan is on 3/6
Not my booking in. My booking in is on 22/6. Yes, doing it all in the wrong order - scan in Thailand and then booking in when I get into NHS system on return! Lol. Also I hear ha about losing muscle. I was doing must thai and a serious amount of crossfit before I got my BFP - the state of the tops of my legs now, gah! I can't even walk anywhere here not its hot season - another thing making me swoon for London! GrinGrin

So many messages I can't even keep track, but welcome to all the newbies, sorry to those of you feeling rotten, and thanks sweets and Clare for updating stats.

I'm 11+4 and actually starting to feel like me again. Still nauseous in the afternoons but have definitely got a bit more energy and my brain is coping a bit better was really struggling as I'm a teacher and I kept saying the wrong words

Went to the gym and did body pump and balance last night. I kept my weights low used excuse of first week back in 8 weeks and new release I did feel a bit ashamed though when another friend in the class is 2 weeks from her due date and used bigger weights on some of the tracks! It went fine other than something in my back twanged when I stood up!?! Felt ok after a bit though. Dh was with me and we told the balance instructor as she is a good friend and she was really excited for us which was lovely.

Scan is one week away and it cannot come fast enough! I want to tell people!!!Grin

Sorry for the essay, hope you all have a good day x

Withalittlesparkle · 20/05/2015 07:32

Crazy ladies going to the gym! I miss running but just thinking about it makes me feel sick! My area does free Preggo excercise classes after 12 weeks and free swimming sessions as well, so once the sickness eased I'll start trying to be a bit more active

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 20/05/2015 08:54

Morning everyone!

I really admire those of you who are managing exercise!! I get out for a walk once a week and that's about as much as I can handle! I'm still nursing a pregnancy injury from the last time and if I walk more than about 2 miles my hips are agony.

After I said I felt really good yesterday I was swiftly reminded of my symptoms...went to bed last night feeling miserable and that is still the same this morning! Chops I very much have evening sickness too. I wonder is it because we are tired in the evening and that makes everything worse?!

Good luck to those calorie counting. Once this shitty first trimester passes my plan is to go back to calorie counting, I am going to try not to put on any extra weight, just maintain what I am and hopefully will absorb the baby weight by losing some of my weight if that makes sense!

Have a nice day everyone

Cariad2014 · 20/05/2015 09:05

Thanks Sweets and Clare for updating the stats! If you have time to update (no worries if not) my location is London and my 12w scan is in fact on 04/06 (I got confused with our 3 year wedding anniversary!)

Looks like 16 December is our most popular EDD so far, although no doubt this will change after the scans.

Welcome newbies and congrats on the surprise pregnancy.

Not long now until the 12w scans start rolling in. Hoping and praying that everyone gets good news.

Chops, Jebel and everyone else suffering - hope you feel better soon.

Chandlers - can't believe you've only got a month left until you're back in London - woop woop. I was in Bangkok for 4 months at this time of year many moons ago, and can remember the not so pleasant smells vividly. It must be a million times worse if you're pregnant, so you have my sympathies.

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 20/05/2015 09:24

Ooooh just looked at the stats - I like a good spreadsheet I do Grin

If anyone can update - I am 28 years young and my location is Northern Ireland.

WhatsForYeWontGoByYe · 20/05/2015 10:01

Morning all
Generally too sick to post and, as I mentioned before, MN makes it worse (!) but wanted to say I'm still keeping up and will hopefully be back on posting form soon....

Update: had 12 week scan yesterday and all well, except - as I knew would happen - I've been put back over two weeks so am now just 10+1, with an EDD of 15 Dec, rather than 12+3 based on LMP. Damn these long cycles!

Got to go back for another scan in a fortnight cos bub was too small to do all the measurements/nuchal screens etc.

But saw that little flickering heartbeat and fell in love. All real now!

Sweets27 · 20/05/2015 10:44

Ooh congrats whatsforye, very excited for you! Definitely all real! Smile

Withalittlesparkle · 20/05/2015 10:48

Yay brill whatsforya, and a bonus extra scan

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 20/05/2015 11:56

Congrats WhatsForYe!

ThreeBeanRap · 20/05/2015 12:08

Congratulations whatsforye!! How exciting. Frustrating to be moved backwards but so great that all's looking well and you get an extra scan! Lucky you.

WaitingForEgg · 20/05/2015 12:50

Clare i'm also on the myfitnesspal wagon to try and stick to ok calorie consumption, permanent hunger to get rid of the nausea
FlorIxora hope you are feeling better, i'm also feeling pretty sorry for myself
Chops this happens to me too, I get bad travel sickness on boats and it's the only thing I can liken it to, reading sometimes seems to make it worse too, yeuk
I have exams next week and I just can't wait for them to be over now so I can relax for a bit, counting down the days to 12 weeks

Jebel · 20/05/2015 14:33

Yay whatsforye, great news, hope you feel better soon.

Chandlers hope the weekend goes better than you imagine. I spent a lot of time in China and, yes, if I think of street markets I feel quite nauseous. We fly to Phuket tomorrow morning, looks like lots of rain which isn't so bad coming from the desert!

Chops evenings are just rubbish, hope you start feeling better too.

Clare I seem to have put 1kg on since last week so need to start being healthy. I am just going to really try to stay off sugar rather than calorie count. I will wait until I stop feeling sick though as need sweets at the moment!

Babyfaced I had problems last time, I think it was pelvic girdle syndrome or something (funny how you forget!), those last couple of months were so painful. Seems ok at the moment but am nervous about it coming back. Hope your hips aren't too sore.

Sweets I have told loads of people, I can't keep secrets. Just enjoy it and don't worry but keep a list just so you can remember who knows! Thanks also for keeping stats up to date.

Cariad I am measuring slightly ahead so might end up 16th Dec also.

I slept on and off for 10 hours last night so definitely feeling better. Thank you for the sympathy.

Had scan today for harmony test, measuring 10+1. He was able to measure the neck and said it was normal, although it is a week earlier than you officially measure he said it wouldn't suddenly be abnormal by next week so that is promising! I get harmony results in 2 weeks and will know the flavour!

WhatsForYeWontGoByYe · 20/05/2015 14:35

Yep, the extra scan's a nice bonus (same thing happened last time with DD) but I've got to do the bloods again, which is annoying! Good thing that my last pregnancy cured me of my needle phobia!

Thanks for the congrats Smile

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 20/05/2015 16:21

Ah Jebel so exciting that you will know the sex!! So glad that the neck was normal too. They don't actually do the NT test here in Northern Ireland.

shinysparklythings · 20/05/2015 17:21

Congrats what at least the change of date was expected and you get an extra look at bean.

jebel that's really exciting, glad the nt looks good.

My boss gave me her one pregnancy tip today when she was checking on how I'm doing and it was this. even if you don't have real cravings, pretend and milk it for all its worth enjoy!

Sweets27 · 20/05/2015 18:00

Jebel, thanks for the reassurance and good tip to keep a list of the people I've told - otherwise it'll definitely get out of hand! I just have to make sure not to tell anyone who would let slip to DH, who's really desperate for us not to spread the news til his family know after the 12 week scan next Friday. Argh, 9 days and counting.....

And congratulations on your scan, how exciting! So do they actually tell you the gender when they get back to you in 2 weeks' time?!

shiny, I love your boss' recommendation. Tbh I think I've already started doing that. I definitely moaned to DH at the weekend that I needed ice cream and he went right down to the supermarket to get some for me straight away, bless him. In retrospect he must have thought it was a preggo craving, but really I think I was just being greedy! Blush

FlorIxora · 20/05/2015 18:37

I have decided I am also going to try and be good. I had two - 2 - TWO pain au chocolat yesterday for breakfast. I'm French so it must be genetic or something, yeah?

So this morning I bought a box of muesli and natural full fat yoghurt. I'll try having that so brekkie instead from now on. The weird thing is I can stomach the pain au chocs much better than porridge or yoghurt&muesli.

This bean wants a fat mama.

WaitingForEgg · 20/05/2015 19:01

FlorIxora I used to have granola with yoghurt for breakfast every day. Since being pregnant I spent 3 weeks eating Nutella on toast every day instead. Might explain the few pounds i've gained Blush still can't stomach yoghurt atm, have switched to bran flakes and some milk
