Noticed we were getting a bit full in the last thread! Roll up, roll up for more scanning, puking, worrying and other distractions to take us through the first trimester! Grin

BabyFaced - here to hand hold. I can totally identify with the feeling of not wanting to tell anyone about this pregnancy. Sorry the timing of your booking in appointment is so close to your DD's birthday/ anniversary. Would it help if you asked for it to be moved (although I know you might feel that this was just delaying the inevitable)? Booking your DD's birthday/ anniversary off work sounds like a very good idea. I will be thinking of you on the day.

Edinburgh and ThreeBean - sorry you've had spotting as well - it's such a horrible thing to have to go through. Edinburgh - you should definitely consider a reassurance scan if you're worried and don't think you can wait it out until the 12w scan.

Metal - I also get yellow discharge.

An update from me on the uti front: after 2 lots of antibiotics, they're not sure I ever had a uti at all (the joy!) Heading back to the GP on Friday for another urine sample, but right now they just think I have an irritable bladder (i.e. I have all the symptoms of an infection e.g. white blood cells and protein in my urine, and a stinging sensation whilst peeing but no actual infection).

Metalhead · 18/05/2015 19:56

Thanks ladies, glad it seems to be a fairly common thing. The glamour of pregnancy!

chopsface · 18/05/2015 21:12

Yes I've got yellow discharge too metal!

Hope the spotting is normal bean and edin and you get some reassuance soon.

Sorry for the anniversary's assassin I hope you don't have to go through anything like that ever again.

Anything exciting to report from the mass booking in today? Just a load of box ticking wasn't it? Lol! Was a little bit miffed that the midwife (who isn't even going to be MY midwife) whizzed past the screen that said preferred place of birth without consulting me! She ticked the delivery suite at the local hospital automatically! I didn't say anything, I will at the next appointment with my ACTUAL midwife and hope its not too late to get an option!

ThreeBeanRap · 18/05/2015 21:28

Had my scan this afternoon and there was baby dancing away Grin he/she was really active but wouldn't stretch out for the sonographer to measure...she had me up and down and drinking more and weeing...but the baby was not co-operating!! All looked fine though, arms legs etc! They have moved my due date to end of Nov but I'm going to stick around here if that's ok!

WonkyDonkBonk · 18/05/2015 22:17

Congratulations bean on a lovely scan. Do you get to go back for another scan as she didn't get the measurements?

ThreeBeanRap · 18/05/2015 22:25

She got the best she could and it matched the dates we thought so she has left it as that - 5 days earlier than my previous edd so close enough. It's been so nice telling everyone!

ChandlersFarang · 19/05/2015 02:35

Brilliant news, ThreeBean! Woop! Our first 12 week scan on the thread is done! GrinGrin love the fact the baby was playing up already, he he!! Wink

Hawen that's annoying if you've taken antibiotics for nothing... But at least they are getting to the bottom of things. Does an irritable bladder bring the same issues as a UTI? Or is the lack of infection an improvement on the prognosis?

Jebel it's cool you might know the gender so soon! Harmony test is 15,000+ baht out here so too pricy really. Am now booked in with UCLH for my care back in London and they don't offer it. Having my booking in appointment on 22/6, after my 12 week scan on 3/6! Lol. Doing it all backwards.

Sweets yes it's looking like two separate cysts now, with a new cheeky third one. There'll be a full bunch of grapes in there by the time this pregnancy's done no doubt! Grin just hope that ovary survives!! Shock

So I thought I'd go for a walk after work yesterday but ended up with a crushing headache and indescribable fatigue, was back home on the sofa asleep at 8:15!! Woke up at 7:00 so got almost 12 hours sleep (and only woke with DH's alarm, could have gone longer). Felt pretty dehydrated and rank after that, then just threw up my toast DH made me! FFS! After all that with the scan and worrying that I felt too normal. Have learned my lesson, this first trimester business is not something you can set your watch by!! Shock Lol!!!

vodka and babyface hand holds for you at this exciting but very difficult time.

threebean yay on our first 12 week scan, so pleased to hear you have a lovely wiggly bean in there!

My brain is not letting me retain any more info to reply to people Confused.

Am booked on for two classes at the gym tonight, Dh will be with me and I will make sure I don't do too much, really hoping in not nauseas tonight, seems to get me at about 12 then sticks around till 7 Hmm

4 days of work till half term, boy I need it! Scan is next weds so all being well I'll go back to school and can let people know! though I'm fairly certain everyone in my department has already guessed

ThreeBeanRap · 19/05/2015 07:08

Thanks all! chandlers and shiny I hope you're feeling better soon. If it helps I have definitely noticed the sickness and tiredness easing off over the last few days so hopefully it will for you too. I have also eaten bags of M&S Percy pigs!!

shinysparklythings · 19/05/2015 07:34

Thanks threebean my boobs are less sore now, and I feel pretty good when I wake up.

Has anyone else lost weight? I have lost another kg since my booking in on the 8th. I'm not being sick, but the nausea means I am eating smaller portion sizes than I perhaps was before. I am now grazing a lot more, I wonder if it's that? It's weird, because my clothes are tighter around my middle, my boobs have gone up 2 cup sizes but I weigh 3kg less than I did at 6 weeks, now 11+3. Should I be worried?

flyfireflyfly · 19/05/2015 08:16

Hi everyone a lurker cos Munster rarely lets me post not sure why but when we get at Facebook group I'll be chatting away
This pregnancy is hitting me much harder prob cos of the two kids running me ragged lol
I swear my boobs are soo sore and I'm starving all the time, sickness is dying down tho so that's a relief
Scan is on 8th June booking in isn't till 4th June so just trying not to worry till then

Jcandy · 19/05/2015 08:34

shiny I lost a kg last week and stayed the same before that, can see me loosing more this week as I'm just hardly eating anything. Concerned about my drinking more coz I know I'm not having enough. Got an appointment with the gp today after dragging myself in to work yesterday made me feel 10 times worse.

threebean excellent news on the scan Smile they'll all start to kick off now!

Chandlers sounds like your symptoms are teasing you for worrying they went away! I can't wait till the second trimester when I hope I feel better, coz this right now is not fun! Maybe baby needed Percy pigs? don't blame them Smile

Welcome back cariad glad to see you still here. Rubbish about the irritable bladder, is there anything they can do?

How did work go for you chops?

Cariad2014 · 19/05/2015 09:06

Congrats on the scan ThreeBean. Woop woop! You must be over the moon!

Glad you've managed to get your booking in sorted Chandlers and that you're now under the care of UCLH when you get home. How long have you got left in Thailand? Can't be long now...

Waves back at JCandy.

Sorry to all those who are struggling with nausea at the moment - I hope you feel better soon.

Not sure what to think on the UTI front, on their advice, I'm heading to the GP again on Friday for another urine sample to double check, but right now it certainly sounds as though I've taken two lots of antibiotics when I never had an infection in the first place. Google also seems to be full of people who kept being told that they had white blood cells and protein in their urine whilst pregnant but who never had an infection/ any other condition that could have caused this. I guess it's just one of those things. I can also see why they prescribe antibiotics as soon as you develop symptoms, particularly as UTIs can make you really ill (and therefore increase the risk of miscarriage) if left untreated.

edinburghdancer · 19/05/2015 09:46

Thanks all - I've stopped panicking. I'm sure it is still just the cyclogest pessaries (glamorous - not!).

Threebean that's lovely news on the scan. Sounds great! Little disco bean! Wink

I'm still feeling shocking but it's coming and going so I'm being brave and heading back to one of my pre-pregnancy hobbies. My Bellydance teacher posted on FB this morning looking for an extra two people to do a 'BellyMummas' class. If you know any pregnant people in Edinburgh who fancy getting jiggly, let me know!

Sweets27 · 19/05/2015 09:53

threebean, congratulations on the scan - how exciting! And how exciting for our bus that we've already reached the first 12 week scan! Time flies!

ThreeBeanRap · 19/05/2015 11:02

Thanks guys! It's so exciting. Won't be long til more scans start coming through now.

shiny I've lost a bit of weight too, 90% sure that is all alcohol calories being dropped!

abi2790 · 19/05/2015 11:19

shiny I'm the same. I keep fluctuating between 55 and 56 kgs. I have been eating so much though so I don't understand why I keep losing the weight again. I do get a lot of exercise so it could be that. However my pants are getting so tight that it's making me really uncomfortable. If I wear leggings I like to wear them high up but I can't now cos they're tight on my tummy and it makes me really uncomfortable Sad

I'm really emotional today. The smallest thing upsets me. Ds this morning has been so naughty and it nearly brought me to tears whereas usually I would just deal with it and not let it bother me. He usually jumped on my tummy this morning that really upset me. It's not his fault, I know he doesn't understand there's a baby in my tummy and he's only playing but he needs to be more careful! Dp just lets him play rough with him whereas I hate it, especially now!

Sweets27 · 19/05/2015 11:25

shiny, threebean, abi - I've lost weight too (just a couple of kgs). I've put it down to the fact I'm getting much less exercise - 2 weeks before I fell pregnant I ran a half marathon, but I've only run about twice since then. Muscle weighs more than fat, so I think it makes sense that although I feel podgier and I've been eating more, my weight has gone down. Anyone else been getting a lot less exercise in the last couple of months? Maybe that's the reason?

Sorry you're having a tough morning abi, must be really hard with DS playing up, especially at the moment. How old is he?

WaitingForEgg · 19/05/2015 11:46

Sweets i've been doing a lot less exercise but unfortunately it's had the opposite effect, I am gaining pretty quickly! I think its because before PG I ate carbs with great care, but as i'm now nauseous but not actually vomiting most of the time, the only thing that helps my stomach is bread, pasta and potato.

Sweets27 · 19/05/2015 11:56

Waiting I know how you feel. I'm eating a much more carby diet, but that said, I think I might actually be eating a bit less overall - I'm hungry a lot, but get full very easily. Struggle to finish a normal meal. Hmm, this pregnancy lark is strange.

TerryTheGreenHorse · 19/05/2015 12:02

Congratulations three bean!

WaitingForEgg · 19/05/2015 12:05

Also congrats Threebean! 12 week scan seems forever away but I know it will come round quick!

TheBabyFacedAssassin · 19/05/2015 12:15

Another one here who gets really hungry, at the drop of a hat too, but then once I start eating I get full really quickly and then feel sick! I think I remember this from the last time too though. Haven't lost any weight though haven't put any on either so am happy enough!

Congrats ThreeBean!

Sorry you're having a difficult morning abi

chopsface · 19/05/2015 12:46

I initially lost a kilo in the first couple of weeks but now I've put that back on and then some! I'm hardly exercising as ive been feeling too rough after work. Did my first yoga class for 4 weeks yesterday and felt so sick afterwards! I'm eating tons if carbs when I was on a low carb diet before. My tummy is a lot more flubbery! Lol!

I'm at work, I was very tired this morning but I had a boost at about 11.30. Wonder how long that will last ..? Currently on lunch and feeling good still, but normally get a lull after...
