Noticed we were getting a bit full in the last thread! Roll up, roll up for more scanning, puking, worrying and other distractions to take us through the first trimester! Grin

Hello everyone, I haven't managed to keep up with new thread but will try to go back and have a read. Awful time here as my sister is in hospital, my mum is awaiting a CT result for something worrying on her lung and I have been told that my on call committment at work may be about to increase significantly. There is no way I can do the new rota feeling knackered and sick with a 2 year old and I don't want to do it once I have 2 kids either! Seriously considering not coming back to work after mat leave but I do enjoy my job and I've worked so hard to get where I am.

Re bras: I am wearing just basic non underwired debenhams ones which I find very good and surprisingly suportive. They also do some pretty non underwired ones. I am not very well endowed and I want to exclusively breast feed again so I want to give my milk production every chance I can!

Stats: Age 32, baby no.2, had my booking in and scan on 2/6/15. Not going to give EDD until have scan but it'll probably be 1st week Dec

MissMrsMummy · 17/05/2015 16:10

Hi kaff sorry about the hard time you're having and decisions about work. Hope things get better.

HariboBrenshnio · 17/05/2015 17:00

Chops DP won't be coming to my booking in, it's just lots of paper work really, so I like him to save the time he needs off work to come to my scans!

Jcandy · 17/05/2015 17:20

Chops I signed myself off for the last week so would need to go to the gp to get more. I'm not sure I'm ready to go back but I've got so much on this week I need to at least try. If I struggle Monday and Tuesday then I'll see about the rest of the week. Do you have to go back tomorrow?

chopsface · 17/05/2015 17:47

Yeah I have to go back to work after the appointment tomorrow. Depends on how I am feeling though to be honest. If I feel like I do today I am not going to work! Symptoms are most definitely no easing. Been lying on sofa moaning quite a lot!

Jcandy · 17/05/2015 19:04

Yeah I thought I was doing OK today until I hit a wall where I just felt exhausted and have now thrown up again. And it was going so well. I do the lying on sofa moaning thing too!

ineedsomeinspiration · 17/05/2015 19:16

Not much to report from me. Nice walk this morning followed by Sunday lunch at mum and dads.

Don't know who asked about buying things we waited ages last time probably around 30 weeks ish. I struggled with deciding what to buy. Didn't need half the clothes we got and because ds was small he didn't fit in to some of the 3-6 month stuff I'd got till early summer which was no good. My advice is to get very basics, see what arrives as pressies and then hit the January sales.

chopsface · 17/05/2015 19:31

My dh is coming with me. He wasn't originally but I said I was worried about getting there on my own and its gonna chuck it down with rain in the morning. The place is apparently about half hour walk but I don't know the route exactly and would get drenched. There is only one hourly bus I could get and I didn't want to rely on it in case it didn't show and then I didn't have time to start walking. So dh decided to take the morning off work. Then he can drop me off at my work (if I go!) afterwards as the same unreliable hourly bus would need to take me to work back the other way! Bloody annoying!

AmberLav · 17/05/2015 20:00

Hey, not been up to much, keeping up with the conversations, but barely enough energy to respond!

My stats are age 36, on number 3, due 18 December, booking in is tomorrow (18th May) at 9 weeks, and just got my scan date, which is 8th June, when I'll be 12+3.

Feeling bit wiped out today after driving an hour for a family lunch with an aunt and cousin who don't know, but at least my niece and nephew mainly looked after my two, so I got to natter!

With DC1, he was due in march, and we didn't buy anything till christmas... but find out your/your OH's birthweight, to check if you are likely to have big/small babies -DC2 was too big for newborn clothes when she was born, so she was straight into 0-3 months... and mainly go for sleepsuits, then see what you get as presents...

Avasmum8 · 17/05/2015 20:14

Evening everyone! My stats are:

Avasmum8
Age 25
Baby #2
EDD 15th Dec

I have my booking in tomorrow, although it's one of my friends who is my midwife so will be nice to have a catch up! On the putting on weight front, I have gone from a size 6 to wearing size 10 now, I have been vomiting everyday and can't eat half of what I used to yet I've put on so much weight?! My stomach is so bloated to, with DD I could still fit into my clothes basically until the end, didn't buy any maternity clothes just had to undo my jeans :( very depressing!

claremccrory59 · 17/05/2015 20:23

Hi ladies, I've done a wee update on the stats sheet. I've formatted the EDDs so that they are easier to sort chronologically - hope that's ok and hasn't annoyed anybody! The ones that we don't have an date for are at the bottom on the s'sheet - we can update them once we get the dates.

Now what else can I do to distract myself from eating??

Cx

chopsface · 17/05/2015 20:33

I've been trying not to eat so much today as I've been eating every hour to stave off nausea recently! Its just made me feel tired-er and sicker I think! Dh is making me eat dried fruit and nuts as an alternative to ginger biscuits to try and make me healthier! Its not the same!

Loads of us bookin in tomorrow then! I will look forward to the comparison notes tomorrow evening then!

I'm in bed, feeling like I've not eaten for hours! Got a yoghurt and a smoothie up here with me....

Cariad2014 · 17/05/2015 20:33

I think I may have joined a while ago, but have had unexplained spotting on and off for the past 4 weeks (coupled with a UTI that seems intent on staying with me) both of which in combination have left me super anxious (although admittedly, given that I've been pregnant twice before and never made it to 6 weeks I'd probably be anxious anyway). I'm 9+4 today and desperate for this pregnancy to work out.

Stats are as follows:
Cariad2014
Baby No#1
EDD: 16 December
Booking in: 28 May
12w scan: 2 June

Cariad2014 · 17/05/2015 20:40

Apologies - I should add that I didn't mean for my post to sound super depressing. I don't want my anxiety to be contagious/ to stop anyone else wanting to post. X x

Cariad2014 · 17/05/2015 20:41

Disaster - managed to get my stats wrong as well. 12w scan is actually 4 June...

chopsface · 17/05/2015 20:49

cariad me old mucker! Glad you've made it this far luv. Has the spotting stopped now? When did you last have a scan? You saw a heartbeat though didn't you, that's a great sign :-) Chandler sent me a paper today saying if you've made it to 9 weeks and see a heartbeat the chance of mc plummets to 0.5% lets hope that's true for us all and we are in for the long haul together now!

Andifyoudontfirstsucceed · 17/05/2015 21:40

Evening all!

Been quite but thought I would update. Finally met my midwife on Friday - now waiting for my scan date - any time in the next 3 weeks! Can't wait to see how big it's gotten since my scan on the 1st.

Feeling pretty rough most days still and have a new symptom of metallic taste in my mouth - like a mouth full of change! Confused feeling must more positive about this pregnancy though - nearly 6 weeks more pregnanct than I have ever been!

Cariad2014 · 17/05/2015 22:05

Waves back at Chops. My spotting seems to be oddly cyclical. I've now had it 4 weeks in a row. It always starts on Monday/ Tuesday evening and disappears on Thursday/ Friday in time for the weekend. I've had two instances of bright red spotting and everything else has been brown/ pink. If it wasn't for the fact that I had it on my week off, I'd wonder whether work-related stress was (at the very least) a contributing factor. Had my last scan at 7+6 (almost 2 weeks ago) after the last bright red spotting episode but they failed to find a cause for the bleeding.

I don't think having a constant uti (if that's what I have) has helped. I've now taken a week's worth of amoxicillin and cefalexin but when the GP dip sampled my urine on Friday she detectes white blood cells and protein (the tell tale signs of an infection). Hoping to get the results tomorrow/ Tuesday, but in summary they think I've either had a uti for a month which hasn't responded to either antibiotic I've taken (although admittedly they've stopped me getting seriously ill) or I have a pregnancy-induced dodgy bladder which is displaying all the symptoms of a uti when I don't actually have one. The joys of the first trimester! Hope you start feeling better soon x x

ChandlersFarang · 18/05/2015 06:17

Why hello Cariad, also my old mucka! Welcome back. Rubbish to hear you've been suffering so much!! But brilliant that you've made it to 9+4, well done!! GrinGrin Here's to many more weeks, and hopefully less eventful ones.

So I started feeling quite a lot more normal about 5 days ago, and then had the very odd moment of nausea (usually in the mornings) but as of this weekend have basically felt completely normal! This morning I rang the doc as given my history of infertility am just used to bad things happening. Anyway he got me to come in and did a quick scan this morning and everything is absolutely fine!! Saw little arms waving at me and stuff, which was just so amazing I cried!! I hope this reassures anyone else who has found symptoms subsiding around 9 weeks...!! GrinGrin

My giant cysts haven't grown or shrunk which I guess is good, but I have grown a small third one just for the fun of it... ConfusedGrin Oh well. They don't seem to be interfering with the baby at all so am making my peace with them for now!!

Hope everyone has a good Monday! X x x

Glad scan this morning went well Chandlers - fabulous news. You must be so relieved. Your disappearing symptoms must be the placenta taking over which can only be a good sign.

Heard 3 separate pregnancy announcements yesterday - all first babies due in October/ November. I am so delighted for them, but it's made me even more desperate to cling onto this pregnancy (particularly as I know that after my ectopic and tube removal last September, it takes me longer to conceive these days...) The thought of having to return to square one for the fourth time fills me with dread.

shinysparklythings · 18/05/2015 07:32

cariad nice to see you, fx everything works out I can't imagine how unsettling the spotting must be.

clare thanks for updating stats, good plan on changing EDD's will make much easier.

chandlers yay! How fantastic to see your little bean Grin

I had a lovely time shopping yesterday. I am now a whopping 36HH Shock. My friend was excited for us which was also lovely.

Whoever asked how she didn't know, she had "periods" throughout, and as she was a bigger girl already didn't really show. I saw her a month before she gave birth and wouldn't of guessed and she gave birth to a normal weight baby! second time she suspected but Poas tests were all negative. Then eventually got bloods done at docs to confirm. They put EDD's as Xmas eve, she then gave birth to a full term baby in October half term!

ThreeBeanRap · 18/05/2015 07:58

Morning all! After a hideously stressful weekend I'm massively looking forward to our 12 week scan which is TODAY Grin

Stats are

threebeanrap
1st baby
Age 29
Edd 1st dec

Fingers crossed all goes well later, will update you. Good luck to all those with booking appts, scans etc. I am going to buy my first baby thing this afternoon (all being well) in celebration and I can't wait to tell everyone.

Jebel · 18/05/2015 08:11

Fab news Chandlers, so cool to see the bean move. I am also feeling better but shattered.

Haribo congrats also, it is such a relief.

Hello Cariad - I bled loads and loads in my last pregnancy from 7-14 weeks, bright red blood. I had a haematoma that was causing it. I've been spotting a bit this time but latest scan ok.

I have a cheeky extra scan on Wednesday because I am doing the Harmony test (not exactly Harmony but the equivalent of) and need to have up to date measurements. Is anyone else doing Harmony?

ThreeBeanRap · 18/05/2015 08:15

cariad if it's every 4 weeks it sounds like it might be in line with your cycle which I think is fairly normal, often people get bleeding/spotting at 4/8/12 weeks for example.

Cariad2014 · 18/05/2015 08:37

Thanks for the welcome Shiny, Jebel and ThreeBean.

Bleeding has been every week for the past month. On my last scan, she was fairly sure it wasn't a haematoma but couldn't find an obvious cause. Jebel - sorry to hear you've had something similar, but it's reassuring to know it doesn't always mean bad news.

Hope Wednesday's scan goes well Jebel and good luck for your 12w scan today ThreeBean.

Jebel - my hospital offers the Harmony test to anyone whose initial 12w scan puts them in a higher risk category, so (if I get that far) I'll probably wait and see where we stand at 12w and decide from there. Does your Harmony type test mean you get to find out the sex super early?

I'm also tempted to try and book myself in for another reassurance scan this week - we shall see.
