I would join a fb group too! Grin
scanned myself at work today, everytime I see the baby I love it a little bit more, feel so lucky!

Pyjama · 12/05/2015 17:04

Coffee and Laura, I have my scan tomorrow too.
Sorry if tmi in advance...
I've been having brown spotting on and off for the last few weeks, mentioned it to the midwife at booking in appointment and she didn't comment so I thought it was probably nothing to worry about - also several of you have shared stories of this happening and all was fine. On Saturday I had some bleeding and then the brown discharge has been constant since then, with some red streaks when I wipe. I have been trying to think 'what will be will be' as there is nothing I can do, scan is coming up soon so will just wait to see. but now the scan is tomorrow... I'm now starting to feel worried. Any thoughts on possible reasons for this?

Tia

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 12/05/2015 17:15

Hi pyjama, it's really impossible to say what the brown spotting means. It might all be ok, it might not. Plenty of people on here have had spotting and everything has been fine.
Sorry to give a useless answer. Keeping my fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow Thanks

BowiesJumper · 12/05/2015 17:36

Pyjama There was no explanation for my spotting (which lasted from 4wks-9wks approx). Mine was mostly pink on wiping, but then on one occasion red and a bit heavier, and then brown. Sometimes they can't explain it! Fingers crossed for you tomorrow.

Good luck to all the scanners!

TakesTwoToTango · 12/05/2015 17:37

Pijama, there can be a number of reasons for bleeding, sometimes he body carries on having a sort of period type cycle for a few months, sometimes the increased blood supply to the cervix makes it prone to irritation and a bit of bleeding (eg after sex or going to the loo), sometimes you get a bit of a bleed as the embryo implants or as the placenta continues to develop and it can take a while for that to work its way out, sometimes it's a 'vanishing twin' who sadly failed to implant/develop and can be lost while the other embryo(s!) carry on fine, sometimes it can be a sign the placenta has implanted a bit close to the cervix (most of these resolve themselves ok as the pg develops), sometimes it can be a sign that things are not going well with the pg but usually this will be accompanied or shortly followed by pain and cramps, and sometimes the cause is just never identified. It is unnerving but very very common and much more often than not has a benign cause.

I have bled in all three of my pgs and all has been fine so far (2 dcs and a 13 week bump).

Fingers and toes crossed for your scan tomorrow and I hope we will be hearing good news!

Unthoughtknown · 12/05/2015 17:39

Pyjama hope all goes well tomorrow.

Guybrush, loving the scan pic. I've never seen a twin one before Smile.

I'd be up for a Facebook group.

Unthoughtknown · 12/05/2015 17:40

Ps I have definite bump now, I'm not yet 14 weeks so it seems too early? Perhaps it's gas.

SnozzberryPie · 12/05/2015 17:46

My scan's not till next week, I'm right at the back of this bus! I was one of the last due dates on the thread with dd but had one of the first babies.

Very jealous of all the lovely scan pics and the end of the first trimester nastiness.

Lauramum23 · 12/05/2015 18:12

Pyjama I hope all goes fine tommorow. Smile
So there are still a few of us then for scans, what is your due date snoz berry? Mine is 24th but that was an estimate seen as tho I caught on without a period after a miscarriage I had a scan at 8 weeks so I'm hoping it will be like a baby instead if a blob!

Lauramum23 · 12/05/2015 18:15

I've looked at stats there's no one on the. 30th as yet! You never know snoz berry you might get put back on that date? What happened to fat not fit this time she was on here quite a bit at first.

Pyjama · 12/05/2015 18:25

Thanks for the advice everyone, I guess I'm just thinking about it a lot tonight, plus dp is working late so I'm having a nice quiet evening in front of the TV! I will update tomorrow, scan is at 9am and then I'm straight off to work (if good news of course). Good luck for everyone else with scans soon x

cupcakesam84 · 12/05/2015 18:59

Good luck pyjama & everyone left for scans Grin please can someone add me to the edd list for 20th nov? Tia
I'd definitely be up for a fb group! X

HeirToTheIronThrone · 12/05/2015 19:40

So here is the next heir to the throne :)

All ok except the little bugger absolutely refused to get in the right position for the nt test, no matter what I did. So it's back for more bloods in a couple of weeks.

If anyone is updating the stats then EDD is now 22/11.

November 2015 mums to be! Here we are! Our bus is decorated with scan pics, our appetites are beginning to heal, and spring is in the air!
ch1134 · 12/05/2015 20:06

I haven't had a scan yet either. .. it's next week when I'll be about 13 weeks. Can't wait to see if there's anything there as I've had no symptoms!
I did have a blood test for slapped cheek but I keep forgetting to get the results.
I'm in a real dilemma about whether or not to book a holiday to Asia as I'm not up-to-date with hep A or typhoid jabs. It would be our only chance while toddler is still free on flights and I'd be meeting a best friend who I haven't seen in 6 years but unsure whether to take the risk.

roughtyping · 12/05/2015 20:06

Thanks for the reassurance Smile should have added I had the tiniest bit of spotting yest, only once and it's gone... That's ok right? Think I can feel my wee fox (don't want the nickname bub!) moving just now, which is good.

Exhausted though, took my class on a trip to the Scottish Parliament, it was fantastic. Would def go again for more of a nosy! Don't think any of the mum helpers noticed my huge gut Wink

Have had DS crying tonight that he's worried about the 'extra responsibility' he'll have when the baby's born. Think it's actually because I told him no xbox tonight Hmm

Has anyone signed up for yoga classes? I'm looking at a couple, actually desperate to do a bit of exercise. Not like me Wink

I'm def up for a fb group Smile

PooSweats84 · 12/05/2015 20:31

Yes please to FB group, and good luck all scanners tomorrow!

Unthoughtknown · 12/05/2015 20:48

Not tried yoga classes although was thinking of looking into it, went to gym last night for the first time in two months, just cross trainer and some v.light weights. Have to say I really enjoyed it so am going to try and do 3 x per week for half hour.

Crumbelina · 12/05/2015 20:51

Lovely scan pics everyone!

Yep, I'm up for FB.

Been a bit quiet lately as not much on the baby front. Had my 16 week appointment with the midwife yesterday which all went well. I also got to hear the baby's heartbeat which was unexpected and very reassuring given the long gap between 12-20 weeks.

My current bugbear (apart from my sore belly button) is work. I've got another big report due next week which is going to involve stupid late nights into the early hours and then working all weekend. It's all very well them doing some f-ing chair assessment to make sure my posture is ok in pregnancy, but do they have to take into account your stress levels?

Moan, moan, moan - sorry! I do love the fact that pregnancy has turned me into a narky bastard. Smile

Hope everyone else is well. Lovely to see new peeps still joining us. Smile

Blueblink · 12/05/2015 21:14

crumb I completely get you with the work situation! They are piling it on my end! Have been working lots of out if hours events which is exhausting at the best of times and really stressful! I tried to make an appointment with our H&S lady to mainly ask if I should be working 14 1/2 hr days but she's been off sick so that keeps getting pushed back! I can't wait to go on maternity leave already! Let's start a narky bastard club!

Blueblink · 12/05/2015 21:14

P.s I'm in for a fb group too!

gennibugs · 12/05/2015 21:19

I'd be up for a FB group too.

God I look so pregnant today. My chest and tummy seem to have exploded! Surely it's far too early for baby #1! I'm telling work next week, hoping I can keep it under wraps til then. I've got two client events this week and absolutely nothing to wear to them.

Also - Do I just add myself to the stats or is someone responsible for coordinating them etc?

Lovely to read happy scan news and good luck for those tomorrow!

Crumbelina · 12/05/2015 21:31

Haha Blue, what a great club! I thought pregnancy would turn me into a tearful, emotional petal but I have no time for that. I'm too busy being irritated by everyone and everything!

Good idea about H&S - I'll see how my hours go and maybe have a quiet word with HR. 14+ hours days for you is just awful though. Sad

Oh, and I had exactly the same thought as you today - roll on maternity leave, I can't wait. I'll also be taking the full year, you sods. Smile

Crumbelina · 12/05/2015 21:34

Genni, feel free to add yourself. It's a collective effort. Smile

stace1986 · 12/05/2015 21:39

I'll join the narky bastard club! :)
