Shiny new thread for us all

Hello boat hope the ecv is successful,

I too am considering an elcs if baby doesn't move before then. It's a big decision to make that's for sure!

In other news, I don't wanna get outta bed but got family coming later and I need to tidy up a bit. Blooming need to pee/restless legs had me awake half the night Sad

Hope you all well

Good morning. I hope the ECV goes smoothly today boat, let us know.

Congratulations to all of you who are 37 weeks... It looks like we could have a few babies with us within the next couple of weeks.

boatrace30 · 15/05/2015 22:42

Thanks for all the messages. Unfortunately the ECV didn't work, but I'm glad I tried and the pain was manageable. I'm not keen on a breech VBAC so booked in for an ELCS on June 2nd. And I have to say that having a date is exciting!

Bazza2 · 15/05/2015 23:31

I had my ecv last week and it was really painful. I think my fluid is a bit low, and my body is pretty short. I felt the same as you boat about breech labour, so I'm having my section next week! Like you, I am liking having a date.

jazzyjenbo · 16/05/2015 00:00

Good evening ladies, so exciting seeing babies arriving... Looks like we will have 9/10 by next weekend with all the inductions happening over the coming days. We already have 4 little babies which should be getting my cervix shifting but no its still firmly shut ConfusedConfused i've had enough now!

comeagainforbigfudge · 16/05/2015 08:30

Aw that's a shame it didn't work boat but also the end is firmly insight Grin

I don't have another scan until 38w. Then they'll discuss options. I'm thinking baby will be too big to move by ECV easily by then (if not done it themselves before)

Trying not to think about it too much. I do think they lying transverse at the moment though.

Quick poll: when are you all thinking of stopping driving? (If you still are/do drive that is)
My family are all surprised I'm still driving at 36 weeks. Is that too late?

I'm 39 wks and still driving! My car is good though the wheel is adjustable so it doesn't come anywhere near my bump, so I plan to drive up until labour!

Good luck with all the inductions coming up.. So exciting!

boatrace30 · 16/05/2015 10:07

comeagain - yes 38 weeks does sound late. I had my scan on Weds (36+3) and they were very keen to then do the ECV before the weekend as 36-37 weeks is recommended for first time Mums. They said 37-38 for second timers.
Success rate for transverse is much higher though.

As for driving, not planning on stopping at all really (until section). I am working till next Friday (so have to drive, 20min commute), after that I probably won't much. But to be honest I don't find it uncomfortable - I'm quite lucky I think!

jazzyjenbo · 16/05/2015 10:51

I'm not planning or can realistically stop driving and will be back driving asap after birth (def by 2 weeks after) as i'll need to get kids to/from school.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 16/05/2015 15:11

I'm not intending to stop driving. I didn't last time despite going 12 days over! That said, today I made dh go back and get his glasses so he could drive as it's not massively comfortable so I'm avoiding it where possible. If I don't drive I'm a bit stranded, though, so unless I feel unsafe I'll carry on just doing the short distances I need to.

comeagainforbigfudge · 16/05/2015 17:36

Gosh, I guess my family are just being uber protective!

Tori hope your induction progresses quickly! I'm the same with regards to pelvic pain. Think I'll just take it day by day and keep to short journeys.

That's what I thought about ECV hmmm. Well just need to hope baby moves soon enough.

AnythingNotEverything · 16/05/2015 17:40

I'm intending to drive until it hurts to. Seems normal to me.

Baby is still breach Hmm I don't fancy an ECV though. Sounds a bit medieval. Hopefully baby will turn in the meantime ...

What a productive batch cooking day I had yesterday.

Made a lasagne (6 portions plus 4 portions of bolognaise)
8 sweet potato n chorizo enchiladas
Roasted a chicken and stripped it. Enough chicken for 4 frozen for stir fry/add to a meal plus enough to add to a risotto plus dark meat that I will make chicken and mushroom pasties with today and freeze as well.

Going to make chilli today to portion up and freeze plus got a bit of beef to roast so will slice up left overs to freeze for instant roast dinners.

What's the betting we eat it all BEFORE baby arrives ha ha ha.

Still, it's fun cooking when I can't do much else

Hope you all well
waddles off to kitchen to prep chilli

come well done, you are very organised... And all sounds delicious!

tori good luck today, hope baby shows up soon!

comeagainforbigfudge · 17/05/2015 11:34

Ooh potato gratin. I love that. I keep reading how people are making and freezing it. I would just eat the lot. In a "joey doesn't share" type food fest Grin

Trying to persuade my self to go empty rubbish from car and take it for a valet. It's really needing done but tbh, the effort involved...... Grin

Hello!

Haven't been on here in a while but I'm anotjer with a currently breech baby. Will find out if that is still the case on Wednesday. I think the baby may have turned yesterday evening but could be completely wrong.

Fairly confident that if the baby is still breech I'll decline ECV and have an elective c-section. Though I could possibly be persuaded to try a vbac, if the baby is in a stable lie, they'll let me go into labour natural etc.

We've finally decided on a name! Really pleased we've finally made a decision.

rolypolybird84 · 18/05/2015 21:39

Hopefully it has turned!!!

Oooh I'm intrigued by names as we are stuck...anybody brave enough to share? Smile

I went to the lovely midwife today and she said the heartbeat was 130bpm and I was talking to her about the old wives tale that below 140 is a boy? She seemed to agree that this meant I was having a boy...in fact she seemed to totally accept that it was a boy! Obviously she wasn't guaranteeing but she certainly wasn't correcting!!!

What are your thoughts?

Roly, my mw said the whole way through my last pg that my baby had a boy's hr. So much so that a lot of our newborn neutral clothes are green/blue!

Dd was and is most definitely a girl Smile

She's said the whole way through this pg it has a boy's hr too... So we await confirmation!!

As for names... Alexander, Christopher and Montgomery (Monty) are front runners for boys, and I think we're stuck on Felicity or Felicity for a girl!! We had a few others we liked, Cecily (but it means "blind one" which I'm not sure about), Constance (but there are a lot of Connies round here) and Miriam (which I love, but fear nns are rather like dd's nn...)

Such a responsibility!!

It was baby central on the fb pages yesterday and overnight... All boys in the last 24 hours!!

comeagainforbigfudge · 19/05/2015 08:35

Tori I'm confused, were you not having an induction? Oh my brain might be making things up so apologies if I got that wrong!

I'm just plodding along this week. Car all fixed but exhaust is super noisy! Might take it back today just incase there is a hole. On the plus side, new shock absorbers make it a dream to drive now Grin

Oh I'm sitting watching hairy bikers. They made Cullen skink. Looked amazing. I'm now hungry (despite having had my breakfast and at same time feeling sick, smallest stomach in world at the moment I fear)

OP posts:
comeagainforbigfudge · 19/05/2015 08:38

Oh also, my mw hasn't ever hazarded (sp?) a guess at boy or girl. But we are still not very organised re names. Doesn't help that I always play the nickname game with OH's suggestions Wink
