Sorry that some people are feeling really fed up!

Can't believe that there are people being induced so soon! I've still got ages...34 weeks!!!

Does everybody have their names sorted? We are so stuck!!! Don't even have a shortlist!!! Just a long list that DH doesn't like!!!

We have narrowed down to 2/3 names but everytime i try to think if baby as these names they don't seem quiet right, i'm hoping seeing her will confirm her name.
I told my mum today that we still wern't decided and broke my name silence (not told anyone in RL) ... All were well received, i also mentioned that she is not to tell anyone when we go into labour and if my bro/sis realise which they may as kids will be at mums that she must tell them to keep quiet.
I suspect it will be a day or so until we are set on a name and i dont want to announce without saying who she is!
There seems to be alot of BH's about on the group and cheeky babies.

comeagainforbigfudge · 12/05/2015 02:55

sunbathing I've checked out that spinning babies website. Blasted pelvic pain means most of the suggestions are nigh on impossible for me (pain is getting worse!)

How do I check consultants success rate with ecv?

Do you think we should change the thread title to "the one where we moan all day, every day?" Pah ha ha, Wink Grin

come there is still time for baby to turn so don't panic just yet, I'm not going to lie it hurt like a bitch but I'm glad it's finally right way up!! Will keep everything crossed your bubs does the same, my consultant told me their success rate when I had an appointment and it wasn't very high, so if already made the decision that I wasn't going to have it done, but luckily I didn't need to worry in the end.

We have both names sorted but only made our very final decision about 3 weeks ago, we are both happy with them though so that always helps!

cuphat · 12/05/2015 08:28

There is still time for baby to turn, comeagain.

DD was breech but it wasn't spotted until I was 38 weeks (and then only just!). I agree with reading up on ECV - I refused it due to the poor success rate and risks involved and had a planned c-section instead, which was a very positive experience (I've opted for another one this time). The consultant gave me a leaflet with the ECV success rates after I had the scan confirming she was breech.

I'm 37+4 now. We have had our name sorted for a while but it was a much harder decision than for DD.

AlcoholicsUnanimous · 12/05/2015 09:10

According to our NCT group leader, you can give birth to a breech baby naturally! I just don't see how it's possible. Mind you, I'm also cynical about how something that size comes out of me head first. Hope baby moves soon comeagain.

rolypoly I'm also 34 weeks and don't have a particular name in mind. In fact, we don't even have the surname sorted. We also have long lists for both sexes. I would say though that subtly 'suggesting' names over and over helped to bring my OH round to them Wink How have people decided on names for previous dc? Do you wait and see what suits them?

At home today with a nasty uti. It feels as if I'm sitting on glass. They found I was very dehydrated at hospital so taking a day off so I actually have time to drink and go to the toilet (rather than only being able to do both at lunchtime at school.) I feel ridiculously guilty for it though. How do you cope with that once you start mat leave?

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 12/05/2015 09:33

Alcoholics, day 2 of mat leave here and I can safely say I just feel relief, no guilt!!! Grin

Hope your UTI clears up.

cuphat · 12/05/2015 09:42

Alcoholics, most hospitals in the UK won't even let you attempt it (ours wouldn't); they just don't have the staff trained in breech births. It seems that in America it isn't such a problem.

alcoholics I hope your uti clears! I know what you mean about guilty about school! I'm stressing as agreed to write reports before I go as poor nqt taking my class for one term only (all shuffle in September) so seems a bit unfair to expect her to write my reports. On top of assessments and all the usual workload!!! When do you go on mat leave? I'm finishing at end of term.

Today I have swollen and had to change wedding ring for different ring. Boo!!!

rolypolybird84 · 12/05/2015 20:17

Also those of you who have names I'm impressed! I will end up being that person who takes weeks after the birth to decide.

Hope you're enjoying mat leave pas and sorry you can't enjoy yours more Tori. SPD sounds so debilitating, it's not even as if you can do things like batch cooking that involve standing for long periods. Do you have to keep changing position?

rolypoly I'm finishing on Monday (a bit odd, I know, but want to be there for a meeting.) It's a little sooner than I'd originally planned but I'm going to be induced slightly early due to the GD and needed some time to relax. To be honest, even the journey to work (walk/bus/tube/walk) has got too much, and I could throttle the Northern Line wankers who stare through my bump as if its invisible whilst I stand...Anyway, school have been good and given me two days off to write reports but yes, just getting assessment, planning etc up to date has been a challenge. I think it's probably worse for us being in a SATs year (even if they don't exist in the same way anymore.) How are your class taking it? I can't believe how generous parents have been with gifts and things. As for names, a friend of a friend in the States didn't name their child for a year whilst they 'got to know her personality.' Hmm There's obviously the legal need to register your baby here, but there's no rush for a name.

Theyv how are you doing with the GD?

zahaziland · 13/05/2015 07:35

Good morning all.
I had a long night of insomnia - impossible to get to sleep, I actually ended up getting up and doing some work just to distract myself, and now of course I feel completely exhausted!

I am one of the ones still at work and still almost 3 weeks of work left. My commute is a relatively easy tube ride away (one change), but I always ask to seat in the priority seats, and so far I haven't had any major issues with people refusing to give me their seat (although I do have to always ask, nobody seems to spontaneously offer their place despite the fact that I am obviously pregnant!).

As for names, we've narrowed it down to two names (I think....), but OH doesn't seemed particularly rushed to make a final decision. We haven't even started thinking about middle name.

To all of those already on mat leave and to those starting soon: enjoy!

comeagain, while ELCS for breech babies is the norm, some hospitals are happy to have a natural birth. My maternity is one of them.
I was actually born breech (as my sister) naturally, over 30 years ago, and there was no problem whatsoever.

comeagainforbigfudge · 13/05/2015 09:05

Morning.

Aw zah, the insomnia is awful isn't it? After 4 nights of maybe 4 hours sleep, because of restless legs, I finally slept the whole night (minus pee breaks). But still feel exhausted!!

I spoke to my antenatal class mw last night. Apparently my consultant is the best (in mw's opinion). Im concerned that ecv could turn into emcs with GA. I've been advised a GA is potentially not a good thing for me. (May cause a relapse in MS). But the mw last night advised me that the Dr would put all the facts afore me and I'd have opportunity to discuss my concerns etc. They definitely DON'T do breech natural births at my hospital.

Fingers crossed baby moves soon enough.

Poor Alcoholics hope your uti is clearing. Get guzzling that water!!

jazzyjenbo · 13/05/2015 16:47

I'm getting excited as more babies and inductions are being booked... All our little ones will b here soon Grin

Chookford · 14/05/2015 16:31

anything hooray for finishing work tomorrow!

I'm really ready for this baby to come out now, 10 days left but I bet I go over again, this monkey is just too lazy! Confused

purplebiro · 14/05/2015 17:11

Hi all, just checking in - exactly 37 weeks today - feels so odd to be full term after all this time!

Seriously ramping down on work now - I am employed part time, which I started mat leave for two weeks ago, and run my own business for the other part which I have been gradually been handing over (cannot stop altogether, sadly, despite the fact that it won't make me any money while I am paying someone else to run it) for the last few weeks - now down to an hour or two a day with the aim of complete switch over on Monday (18th), with sweep booked for the next Tuesday (26th) and induction booked for the Monday after (1st June) so it's all starting to feel very real. Is it weird that I'm a bit scared of all that free time? I have worked full time since I was 18 and 50+ hour weeks for the last three years while I got the business going...I've got lots on the Kindle and a few boxsets planned but I am a bit worried that I will struggle...anyone else experienced this or worrying about the same?

Not much else to report other than I thought movements had slowed down due to lack of space for her but she's obviously changed her mind and is currently trying to bounce the laptop off my belly as I type :)

AnythingNotEverything · 14/05/2015 19:52

Purple do be vigilant about baby's movements - it's normal for them to change in type as baby gets more squashed up, but not in frequency. Any reduction in frequency should be reported.

There's a really dangerous myth that abide slow down at the end and it's not true. Count The Kicks are always shouting about this because it's really important to be seen if you have a change in pattern.

boatrace30 · 14/05/2015 22:04

Hi, I've been lurking for a while. I'm due on 7th June, so hitting 37weeks this weekend, but like comeagain I'm booked for an ECV tomorrow. Bit nervous about it and slightly torn. Part of me was quite tempted by the control of an ELCS (I like knowing when things are happening). But I also know that a natural birth is ideal. Just hoping the ECV doesn't end with an EMCS!

Chookford · 14/05/2015 22:50

boat congrats and welcome, hope your ECV is successful tomorrow!! Let us know how you get on!

Bazza2 · 15/05/2015 00:13

Hi boat! Yes do let us know how you get on. Good luck!
