Felt we might need a new thread to get through the night feeds and labours!

Lauren omg. Mothers!!!

We have been using metanium but its not really better, nappy off time is best but difficult. Got some more canesten today so will stick that on, and a Johnsons zinc cream. Might have to go down the probiotic route. cave troll I think breast milk has lactose in? Maybe its normal frequency though. Bought pampers sensitive nappies today too so will see if that helps.

So tired I feel sick, just got D's off the boob, hope he stays asleep... But he just pooed... Oh what to do... Ask dh to do it I think...

PS Rory had his first swimming lesson today in a 34 degree hydrotherapy pool. He seemed to quite like it!

FiRaffe · 22/04/2015 23:07

Oh Lauren that's just mean of her, just remember you need to like the name.

Ooh swimming sounds great daholster.

Lauren82000 · 23/04/2015 01:53

Anybody else up and feeding? I swear she is trying to bring my milk in early, my nipples are so sore from all this hopping on and off. Hmm might have to invest in some shields or something. Don't remember it being like this with DD1 she was zonked after boobie time this one is wide awake like I've been guzzling coffee all day.

londonlivvy · 23/04/2015 01:57

yep, awake and feeding here. lying down tho so feeling not too bad. dd2 did loads of feeding and milk in by Thurs when she was born on Tues!

ChickenMe · 23/04/2015 02:01

Yep I'm up. She managed her customary 2.5 hours. Just thought I'd taste the breast milk - can't see what the fuss is about. Tastes of nothing.
I cheat Lauren, I use the shields. If you're sore they are great. I started off cos of a flat nipple and engorgement soreness from hell.

Lauren82000 · 23/04/2015 03:08

Why won't she sleep in her bed? Confused Losing the will to live I'm so tired.

londonlivvy · 23/04/2015 03:19

argh so frustrating lauren. wind?

londonlivvy · 23/04/2015 03:20

I have to hold DD upright and stroke her back upwards for 15 mins to get the wind out

Lauren82000 · 23/04/2015 04:04

She doesn't know what she wants boob, trumps or burps. Luckily she have me half an hour so feeling a bit better now.

We've had the worst night so far, no more than an hour between feeds. He seems to be not taking a lot then drifting off so then hungry again quickly Sad

ChickenMe · 23/04/2015 05:28

Urgh cinnamon night time is not the time to do that. It's just about bearable in the day.
This time of morning is the worst feed.

ChickenMe · 23/04/2015 05:29

..posted too soon. 530am feed is always the worst because by the time we are done it's getting light and she's like yay it's light I'm going to lie there making pig noises

cinnamongreyhound · 23/04/2015 05:32

Hoping he'll go back down for about before my big boys wake up!!! Good luck with not too many pig noises Wink

FiRaffe · 23/04/2015 05:46

Sorry you're having a bad night too ladies. DS is being really clingy and although feeding okay, he won't sleep in his basket only on my chest which means i'm awake panicking that he will suffocate in my boobs, where he has settled, or pull the cellular blanket up or something....argh!

PenguinPoser · 23/04/2015 05:55

I hate 5.30 feeds too as by the time she's ready to go back to sleep dh alarm goes off 6.45 then I have to get up for a shower before he leaves for work or I end up not having one Sad

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 23/04/2015 07:00

Glad I'm not the only one having tough nights! DD fed constantly from 5pm to 3:30am and refused her basket. DH has moved to the sofa as he takes medication and the only way she'll sleep in next to me! now she's back on the boob and I'm sooooooo tired!!!!

BrixtonBunny · 23/04/2015 07:02

Chicken lol at pig noises.

DD was up at 2 for a long feed and a cuddle, as well as a poo which necessitated an outfit change (and I became hungry so DP brought me up a bowl of cereal Blush) but she then slept through from around 3-6. Just had a good feed and I think she's dropped off again which means I can finally go for a wee! Hurrah!

We've basically given up on trying to ask her to sleep in her snuzpod, she just sleeps in our big bed next to me on the snuzpod side. I put her quite high up and cover her with a cellular blanket, then I only have enough duvet to reach over me (not a problem with DP's duvet hogging skills). So far so good, and our bed is big enough to accommodate three people, though I'm sure certain health professionals would have a fit!

Lauren hopefully your DD2 is just trying to stimulate your milk coming in, and as soon as it does she'll be happy with longer, more infrequent feeds. I had blistered and v sore nipples for a few days but I was amazed at how fast they toughened up, for the last five or six days they haven't hurt at all. It's hard when they are learning their technique I think!

Lauren82000 · 23/04/2015 08:02

Can't believe DH asked me how I'm functioning this morning. He is like a zombie. I just laughed at him and said what else am I supposed to do? DD1 came in at 6.45 and insisted DD2 wanted mummy's boobie. (She was fast asleep!) then she insisted she needed a cuddle and I had to rearrange pillows so she could hold her. Hmm then we had to pick her clothes for the day and dress her before DD1 would get in the shower so I could wash her hair. Meanwhile DH is snoring his head off ignoring the commotion next to him. Men really are rubbish at multitasking.

daholster · 23/04/2015 08:06

Oh lauren ds did the same, brought milk in on day three having had 5min feeds every 15mins all night which drove me to distraction and when I started camping downstairs with the tv! Ruined my nipples too. Day 14 today and suddenly, after a 15second latch pain, feeding no longer hurts... Grin

Still getting uber full boobs though, and ds won't settle in his crib either. Dd was fine in her crib, just slept. Ds wants cuddles all the time... Brought the bassinet I was using downstairs up and tired that last night, he slept better and woke for his normal 22.30, 01.00, 04.00, 07.30 feeds and I actually slept in between! Shame our lovely swinging crib is going to waste, we will work on that because he won't fit in the bassinet forever,

Only thing that ruined my sleep was by blooming bag leaking all over the bed at 1am!!! Argh! Did not need that! Tummy must still be changing shape (I'm still 3.5kg heavier than when I started this pregnancy. Think I'll be getting heavier too unless I tame my habit of constantly eating crap!!!).

Tongue tie clinic today Sad beautiful little heart shaped tongue, I feel bad! And sad!

daholster · 23/04/2015 08:12

Ps also had an Aspall's blush cider yesterday evening when we went out for dinner at the pub. Fed ds while I was having it and eating then not for another 3 hours so hopefully he didn't really get any. Didn't refuse the milk or sleep badly so hopefully I timed it right.

The drink tasted amazing...

Sorry to all those having a hard time with lack of sleep, clingy babies and feeding issues. It's flippin hard work isn't it. You know that weight gain I was worrying about? Well, might just treat myself to a hot chocolate today...! Grin

Lauren82000 · 23/04/2015 08:21

Daholster I'm treating myself to icecream this afternoon when we go for our first outing at the park.

Can't believe DD1 came home with the bloody nursery bear yesterday! Like we don't have enough to do or maybe that was part of their evil plan? I've not even looked at the bloody instructions yet DH flicked through what others had done and they are practically magazine display worthy. Hmm I'll have to get my laptop back from BIL so I can produce something reasonable. Not convinced DH is capable of creativity or would remember it needs doing.

ChickenMe · 23/04/2015 08:59

The nursery bear can do the night feeds the bastard.

cinnamongreyhound · 23/04/2015 09:12

Good news on sleep daholster that has been more like my nights until last night. Won't write it down or I might cry! Luckily we've decided to take ds1 out of school today and go for a family day out so I slept 6-8.25 which helped. Dh has a delivery at 10 so we can't go until then.

I take a different approach to the nursery bear Lauren8200, couple of photos printed at home. Ds2 tells me what to write as its his thing and that means usually a couple of very simple sentences and then he draws Grin doesn't take as long as he's actually contributed most of it.

Can't remember of posted last night but dh thinks he dislocated his knee while training Sad he missed racking his squat and then his knee bent inwards and something poked out, the safety chains took the weight and it popped back in but he's in quite a lot of pain and it's swollen up. Still insisting we go to the zoo today though. I'm a bit ConfusedHmm as to whether we should be going to a&e!

ChickenMe · 23/04/2015 09:30

God that's awful I think he should go to a&e. Knees are a liability
