ninjabeer now my symptoms have gone I keep fearing the worse, but I've got my scan on Monday and remember my symptoms disappearing at around 9-10 weeks last time so trying not to worry quite as much. When you see your little jellybaby on screen it'll feel more real.

It was a year ago today that I had my 12 week scan for dd, I was so nervous I was shaking and had drank way too much water (following the instructions on the letter!) and when they scanned me all you could see was this giant bladder, the sonographer and dh burst out laughing and I nearly peed myself. They made me go for a wee Blush

Focusfocus · 24/04/2015 08:51

My scan is in 30 minutes, setting off for the hospital now after having seen the guest pup has pooped on a cushion.

I sides are twisting a bit and DH looks slightly green around the gills as he irons his shirt absent-mindedly.

I need to poo before we leave. Oh god. I have written this on a public forum. Oh please let the scan go okay!

Morning!
I've been just lurking around for a while, feel like I've nothing really to add ATM, not a lot is happening over here, sickness has pretty much gone (Halle-fricking-lujah!) my appetite is back to that of a normal person, I'm still tired all the time and usually in bed for 8pm with the kids Shock but apart from that all is well
Got my scan on Wednesday and I am seriously ready to move on to the next stage now and start telling people and shopping and thinking of names! This first trimester is loonnnnggggg!
Anyone with kids thought about how they're going to tell them? Mine are 4&5 so I'm thinking I just show them the scan (they know what a scan is as they have theirs in their bedrooms) and be like da-daaaaa baby! But I think I'd like it to be more special? Don't know
mrs your scan pic is lovely, really clear Smile
Me & DP went for a browse in Mamas & Papas the other day just because we were walking past and I nearly wee'd I'm so excited! I also forgot how much stuff a newborn needs and I'm on a mission to declutter my house before a load more crappola comes in! Yesterday I got rid of 7 bin bags full of clothes, bedding & towels! This weekend - the playroom of doom! Dum dum dummmmm!

...this is a very long post for someone with "nothing to add" I'll shut up now!

BlueBananas · 24/04/2015 08:54

Good luck Focus!

TwoBeesInTheHive · 24/04/2015 08:56

Annbag whatever they say please keep in mind that ultimately it is YOUR decision. don't let them pressure you into something you don't feel comfortable with. if you want to wait a bit longer, tell them that. they have to respect your wishes, and you can always have more monitoring and extra appointments to make sure everything is ok towards the end.

Focus can't wait to see your scan pics! try and relax and enjoy it! I know thats easier said than done though!

TwoBeesInTheHive · 24/04/2015 08:58

bluebananas maybe tell them you've got a big auprise for them and wrap it up like a present with new big brother/sister t shirts?

flyingsprocket · 24/04/2015 09:05

Can't get enough Cheerios. That is all.

Oh & good luck focus We're scan buddies blue roll on Wednesday!

Good morning it's so lovely today I don't want to be stuck in the house cleaning! But I have to and I have to bake a number 9 cake for my daughter this morning she's having a sleepover with 8 girls oh the joy!
De cluttering sounds like a good idea, I got rid of old clothes the other day too.
I haven't told our kids yet either I will after scan I'll be glad to get if out in the open actually!
As for buying prams etc I don't like any of them in the market at the moment so I'm just gonna use my mamas and papas from my son with a lovely new funky buggy snuggle ( I love them) then I'll buy a lovely new maclaren quest a bit later on, I just don't think prams look worth what you have to pay for them these days (I sound old!) and they are never in them long either, I do have a lot of experience with prams I was always swapping them and buying the latest one!!! Obsessive or what!? This baby is gonna be a second hand rose!Shock No it's not really it will be dressed lovely and very clean! I just know from experience not to spend tonnes on rubbish that doesn't get used.
Plus the fact that the new car is gonna cost a bloody bomb!

TwoBeesInTheHive · 24/04/2015 10:45

Lauramum all mine have been raised with 2nd hand, sometimes even 3rd hand or more! Infact we have hardly anything bought new. no shame in being thrifty Grin

Focusfocus · 24/04/2015 10:57

Oh thanks you girls! It went beautifully, the so I graphed and staff were so lovely, patient and sweet. Thank goodness for our brilliant NHS.

The babe was doing all sorts of yoga. It did downward dog, upward dog and a completely perfect bridge pose. Saw lots of bum shots. To me it looked like a girl based on the famous nub theory.

Nuchal measurement is 1.3 which they said looks perfect but obviously won't know till Downs bloods come back.

Here are the photos grabbed when it was not moving, which was really rare!

Can't wait to see others!!

Congrats Focus! :) How does the nub theory go btw?

Poppyninja · 24/04/2015 11:50

Great scan pic focus!

Happy Friday all x

BowiesJumper · 24/04/2015 11:58

Oh lovely Focus! Congrats! Have your dates changed at all?

What is the nub theory?

Focusfocus · 24/04/2015 12:10

My EDD is now 3rd November. That's come ahead by 4 days.

Nub theory is that while both male and female genitalia stick out at this stage male genitalia tends to stick out at higher angle and female genitalia usually flatter or lower. Check out the pregnancy boards, there are nub guesses each day. To me it looked like a girl, also the baking soda test said girl. But most scientifically - we both asked DPup to lick our right hand for girl and left hand for boy and she went for the right hand I had picked up a sausage with my right hand shortly before so that's conclusive proof that it's a girl.

FlossyLil · 24/04/2015 12:19

How wonderful Focus, lovely pic! Can't wait til mine on Monday! Will have to try out the nub theory.

TakesTwoToTango · 24/04/2015 13:23

Congrats focus!

If the old wives tale about timing in the cycle is right, this one will be a boy as I ovulated earlier than usual so we only just caught it iyswim Wink My dd really wants a sister though (quote: " but i already have a little brother mummy, so i don't need another one if those!" (she's 3 Grin) so I'm secretly hoping to be able to make her dreams come true.

Dixiebell · 24/04/2015 13:34

And the baking soda test is?

TwoBeesInTheHive · 24/04/2015 13:52

yay just had my booking in and it was great! they took my blood too, and filled in all the forms. feel like we are getting somewhere now Grin

Focusfocus · 24/04/2015 14:11

haha, all these "tests" are just for fun! The baking soda test - get a packet of it from the shop - stick it in a bowl, put half a glass of pee on the soda - if it fizzes boy, if it doesnt girl (something to with urine acidity depending on different hormones_) - mine stayed absolutely still.

I also got a urine test off amazon called Gender Maker - will wee on it tomorow to see what it says!! Its all a joke - I am just too impatient!

Wow, well done on the scan pics, how brilliant! Flowers

Also thanks for the prune advice - I actually really like prunes, I have no idea why the juice itself tests so grim. Grin

StAlphonsosPancakeBreakfast · 24/04/2015 18:23

FYI I am CC and I have namechanged, in case you're wondering! Grin

SnozzberryPie · 24/04/2015 18:31

When I was last pregnant I was having a boy according to every single old wives tale there was. I had dd Grin

rascaltashly · 24/04/2015 19:41

I love your names CC! can we call you pancake for short?

10twinkle10 · 24/04/2015 19:47

Loving all the scan pictures, my appointment is two weeks away cant wait!

I'm 10+4 today and feel vile thought it was supposed to ease of a bit as you get closer to 12 weeks. Feeling so sick and tired (and sorry for myself!)
