Did the last November bus crash without a new thread? Worry not, here we are again! Toot toot!

Rascal you can indeed! This title is from a favourite Frank Zappa song of mine. I figured it was time to change when a poor misfortunate (although obnoxious and WRONG poster got reported for what others thought was a personal attack but was actually just using my name. Grin

I have discovered M&S tropical juice with kale today, which is a rather nice way of getting stuff into me. Although I resent this OMG KALE SUPERFOOD business, it is after all just cabbage with notions.

I think my symptoms are definitely reduced (11+4 today), as while I am still reliably very nauseous in the evening and at night, and I needed a nap today, I have been able to do grocery shopping and even cook meat without feeling too awful. And mainly my RAGE is dying down.

I'm on scan countdown now too - next Thursday morning. Anyone else with me? I am a bit convinced they'll discover it's just an unusually large pocket of gas. Hmm

annatha · 24/04/2015 20:10

I'll have a look for that juice. My diet is going from bad to worse, I've got no energy, motivation or inspiration to cook. I walked round the supermarket trying to get inspired and came home with quiche.

Frescoed · 24/04/2015 20:19

I'm with you StAl (I'm loving your names too) with a Thursday lunchtime scan, should be bang on 12 weeks then. Despite my earlier scan, I'm holding my breath on this one still. Also a bit full of gas/general slowness in that area, trying kiwis and apple and ginger juice out, I can't face the prunes....

StAlphonsosPancakeBreakfast · 24/04/2015 20:20

It's really nice annatha and tastes mostly of mango (something I've been eating tons of). I have just wolfed down some butter chicken, so I am hopeful that things are on the up!

I will say, it's occasionally an advantage that I live alone and only have myself to cook for, I have been able to cater for my tastebuds and mine alone. Grin

reb2g08 · 24/04/2015 20:50

Congrats focus!

I had my scan today all went perfectly it is there and was wriggling around like an acrobat! I cried! Grin

So happy and nuchal measurement 1.1mm.

Wasn't offered an internal so guess they put that on my letter by accident!

Will post pics tomorrow!!:)

Loulabellle123 · 24/04/2015 22:00

Hi everyone, I've been lurking and reading for a bit but as I have had my scan this week it all feels more real. I have had my edd moved forward a few days to 29.10. Would be grateful if someone could add me to the stats.

Hope the picture works - a very wriggly one!

Congrats on all the scan photos! What a lovely bunch of babies we have here Grin

So very pleased it's the weekend. Bone aching exhaustion of first trimester has passed but still very tired by the end of the week.

BlueBananas · 25/04/2015 01:11

Don't know if anybody's around here ATM but I'm sat waiting for OOH to call me back and trying to busy my hands
I've just started bleeding, with that and my disappearing symptoms over the last couple of days I think I might be out
Don't really know why i'm posting, just to stop myself pacing around waiting for this phonecall... I hope someone is awake

TakesTwoToTango · 25/04/2015 01:15

Oh blue. I'm here.

TakesTwoToTango · 25/04/2015 01:15

I'm here blue.

TakesTwoToTango · 25/04/2015 01:17

Sorry for double post.

Try not to panic. Remind me how far along you are? How heavily are you bleeding? Any pain? What makes you think you're out (other than our natural tendency to brace ourselves for the worst while hoping for the best)?

TakesTwoToTango · 25/04/2015 01:18

Symptoms can come and go with a perfectly healthy pg and bleeding can have a number of harmless causes. I know you know that, but I thought it might be worth hearing it again right now.

BlueBananas · 25/04/2015 01:26

Thankyou TakesTwo
I'm 11+5, so a bit late for random bleeding to start I think? I have got a little bit of belly ache but I always have ATM really, it's nothing I would've been concerned about without the blood
I've never bled in pregnancy before so I don't know what's a normal amount for spotting really, it started off just when I wiped, now I've had to put a pad on but tbf it's not loads
Just putting 2&2 together is making me think I'm out, with feeling so much better then random bleeding, and yeah just a natural looking to the worst I suppose
Going to have to go to hospital alone so desperately praying it won't be bad news especially with being on my own, don't really know what I'll do
Thankyou, DP is here but doesn't really know what to say so your words on a screen mean a lot right now

TakesTwoToTango · 25/04/2015 01:34

If its not loads and you don't have pain (aside from the usual aches and twinges that come with early pg) then I'd be temped to stay cautiously optimistic at this stage! At 6 weeks I had acted gush that soaked a liner in one go and was still okay. At your stage the placenta is still growing and implanting and really getting into gear so lots of scope for a little bleed. Also, it could be blood that got spilt a whole ago but has only just made its way out. Is to bright red or more browny (sorry for tmi question)? Brown would indicate old blood. Red would be a more recent leak but still not necessarily a problem.

TakesTwoToTango · 25/04/2015 01:35

Ps I've had bleeds in all my pgs. Some as late as 21 weeks (after no bleeding for a couple of months). It's scary but can be totally random.

BlueBananas · 25/04/2015 01:49

Oh thankyou that's very reassuring, the blood is slightly brown so fingers crossed it's not new
The sight of blood seriously panicked me but now I've had a cry I'm slightly calmer and telling myself it can genuinely be nothing
Still waiting for ooh to call back, the woman said I needed to be seen in 2 hours an it's been 1 hour and still haven't had a phonecall Hmm not sure whether to call back or just be patient

TakesTwoToTango · 25/04/2015 01:56

Blue I know the waiting is horrible but I suspect that you are unlikely to get much in the way of answers tonight (assuming you are in the uk). In my experience (London/se hospital trusts) you won't fall under the remit of the maternity ward until you're well into the second Tri. Early pregnancy units who see women under 14 weeks usually only operate day times mon-fri. You may be seen at ooh or A&E but they are unlikely to be able to arrange a scan until the epu is open (worth checking though if there are any in your area that open on Saturdays). I'm only telling you this so you can prepare yourself.

The other thing I can say is that brown blood means you are not bleeding! What you are doing is losing blood that previously escaped, possibly week's ago. That's got to be a good thing, right!

TakesTwoToTango · 25/04/2015 01:57

Ps on the symptoms, at 11+5 it's quite likely that you'd be starting to feel better anyway Smile

TakesTwoToTango · 25/04/2015 02:28

Blue, i'm going to bed now but no doubt I'll be up to use the loo in the night so I'll make sure I check in to see how you are doing. I hope ooh have called you back and you are feeling a bit reassured. Night night.

Focusfocus · 25/04/2015 03:38

Oh blue. Woke for my nighttime wee and saw this. Please be focused on one step at a time,NAND I hope you find out good news very soon. Hugs.

Hope all is going ok blue.

LadyStark · 25/04/2015 05:57

Blue I am not sure if you saw my posts from Wednesday but exactly the same thing happened to me. I had some red blood when I wiped and then some more (but not lots) on a pad and fading to brown every time I wiped over next 12 hours.

I had no pain, do you have any cramps?

This type of bleed is very common around 12 weeks as the placenta implants to the womb wall and this can cause an implantation bleed. It's a bigger implantation than you get very early on which is why you can have a bit more blood. Midwife was beyond relaxed about it and I had my nuchal scan that afternoon and she could see cervix closed, no blood, firmly implanted placenta and most importantly a wriggly baby with a solid heartbeat.

I completely freaked out as is natural but midwife said that unless you've soaked through a sanitary towels and have accompanying pain please try not to worry, it's likely to be a placenta implantation bleed.
