I'm a 5th May too! Cannot wait, been a very long time since I found out I was pregnant to having a scan....... Will be telling people after scan all being well. Told my parents and my sister and a couple of close friends we can trust alreasy (mainly as I wasn't well and they thought I was avoiding them by cancelling on them for stuff) . Will be telling my boss and work people after the 5th too. DH is trying so hard not to tell people it's driving him mad.

mrswishywashy · 21/04/2015 17:29

I'm May 5th as well at 2.30pm. Had a scan at seven weeks and saw lovely heart beat so hoping that he's still there beating away. I'm not sure whether I'm still tired for baby growing or if I'm tired from the disturbed sleeps of six week old I'm looking after. Really need a break. I was at park today looking at all the bumps and I so want one.

CishAndFips · 21/04/2015 17:33

another one here worried stupid about the scan. mine is the 29th andim getting myself in to quite a state convincing myself it will be bad news. oh i so wish i had a time machine right now.

Crumbelina · 21/04/2015 17:38

This board will be (even more) active come the 5th/6th May! We'll probably fill a whole new thread in a few days!

I've told family/some friends now I've had the 12 week scan and the NT/blood test results. I really want to tell work but I'm still waiting to hear the outcome of my grumble about a low pay rise. It's highly likely that they'll agree to give me more money and then I'll stop them mid-sentence to tell them I'm pregnant. Smile

ehealy · 21/04/2015 17:53

As my friends say welcome to the world of parenting we will only ever worry about our little ones. Great Blueblink and Buttermilly mine is at 11.30 2 weeks to go!!!
I had a scan last week as well we are seeing the inlaws this weekend so we will tell them then.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 21/04/2015 18:12

Mine isn't until the 12th as I couldn't do the first date they offered. I want it to be NOW [stamps feet and cries]

Crying I have wanted Capri Suns too! Haven't had one since I used to take them to school in my lunchbox but they are so good - I wonder why they work? Also added Skips to the list of crappy food that makes me feel better today...

CoffeeTwo · 21/04/2015 18:19

Mine is on the 13th. 3 weeks tomorrow! We're on holiday in between so hoping that will pass the time a bit.

annatha · 21/04/2015 18:19

My scan is next Monday and we move house on Tuesday, so its all systems go around here! I'm nervous but really looking forward to it being out in the open.

I have dug out my over bump jeans from last year and they are sooo comfy. I didn't like underbump as I'm quite big it was hard to decide what was bump and what was muffin top, so overbump were perfect at holding everything in and giving me a proper pregnant shape! They've the jeggings from Next but are more like stretchy jean material than jegging.

reb2g08 · 21/04/2015 18:54

I am doing the same mrswishywashy can't wait to show off a big bump!
Got my scan on Friday, can't wait really hope there is actually something there! DH wants to wait to tell everyone until we have a family occasion for someone's birthday so we can tell everyone at the same time! Will be 14 weeks by that point and haven't told anyone! Not sure I can contain myself any longer!!!Confused

Ladies, I have been researching mocktails and tried this today, it's a beaut. It's not as good as the real thing but a lovely refreshing drink for summer. www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1508663/mojito-mocktail

annatha · 21/04/2015 19:14

P.S I blended everything bar the soda water and then mixed it together in a jug for a slushie effect. I knew the Nutribullet would come in handy one day Grin

Crumbelina · 21/04/2015 19:58

Hope everyone feels better soon (Scarlett/Snozz/NoMore and others). Sad

I really liked my 9am scan. Being barely awake and at the hospital so early gives you less time to worry (if you sleep ok).

If anyone likes fizzy sweets then M&S have some new Fizzy Pop Sweet. Ginger beer, pink lemonade, cola and cherryade flavour bottles. I don't have nausea and yet I'm scoffing a bag on the train now. Old habits ... !

Ugh don't like reading the early morning scans are good! My scan is at 13:50!! Hmm Both OH and I have to work a half day before trying to find a parking space at the hospital before my appt.

CuntCourtIsInSession · 21/04/2015 20:36

Mine is the 30th, in the morning. And thankfully I will be able to WFH that afternoon, and I have the Friday off, in case anything is wrong.

I keep thinking about MMCs, or Downs, or 'syndromes incompatible with life', to be honest. I keep thinking this might be the nearest I get to being a mum, and it'll all be over the morning of the 30th. I am just trying to keep focused on work for the moment, and try to let it not weigh on me. But when I wake up on my own in the bed, again, for the 4am-7am worrying shift (I'm sure I'm not alone Grin there), it's very hard to feel positive.

My name is so apt today!!! HmmSad I thought the crying was only supposed to be at like 4-5 weeks ish. I keep randomly crying tonight....just cried for the last 20 mins!

annatha · 21/04/2015 22:14

crying our hormones are all over the place and having a baby is a massive thing to get your head around so its perfectly normal and rational to cry for seemingly no reason. Is your dp at home to give you a cuddle? Last time I had plenty of little meltdowns right up until the birth and 6 months on I'm still overemotional compared to how I was pre baby. I think it's our bodies' way of preparing us for 18+ years of worry!

SnozzberryPie · 21/04/2015 22:36

Crying I remember lots of tears last time including once when I was out baby clothes shopping and I got panicked by all of the things you could buy Confused

You lot have made me want fizzy sweets now!

TakesTwoToTango · 21/04/2015 23:13

reb maybe say to DH that you are worried that announcing at his relative's bday celebration rather steals their thunder and draws everyone's attention to you instead? Wink

cc you are not alone in the worry sessions! We'll all be keeping everything crossed for you!

TakesTwoToTango · 21/04/2015 23:13

Ps spoke to soon about reduced nausea yesterday. Feeling rotten today bleurgh!

roughtyping · 22/04/2015 07:38

Finding it so hard to reign in my eating. I'm just so hungry.

i told people at work on Monday, everyone really pleased. But now that's all people want to talk about! A colleague is a few weeks ahead of me and has a wee bump so she's a bit more interesting just now I think Smile

mrscatmad31 · 22/04/2015 07:49

crying my scan is at the same time as yours Grin next Monday, can't wait! I'm 12 weeks today Grin

TwoBeesInTheHive · 22/04/2015 08:59

I still haven't got a date for ny scan yet. or heard from the midwives for my booking in app!! I called them after waiting over the 2 weeks like it said on the form to do if you hadn't heard, and they said they had my info and would be in touch, so don't feel like I can call again, but I'm heading towards 10 weeks now and still haven't heard anything!! Sad I want to have a scan daye to look forward to and to have my bookong in so I can feel like we are getting somewhere and I'm actually pregnant!! Envy

ehealy · 22/04/2015 09:06

Two eyes is their a helpline? If your on the system they should be able to tell you. Maybe walk in or ask your doctor to call. In the end my scan is before my booking in, it's super busy in my area.
