Snozzberry I've never had the coldness in my other pregnancies but dr Google tells me it's a common symptom, it's bloody horrible isn't it?!

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 20/04/2015 10:24

I use it on roads. It has a flag which means people can see it. I covered it with lights and high vis. I definitely try and choose roads which have a proper cycle lane rather than just being in the traffic but I've never had a problem. Off road cycle lanes are obviously best. It's precious cargo.
Fortunately we've never had an accident but it is also comforting to know that the trailer has a full steel roll cage and a 5 point harness for each child.

BowiesJumper · 20/04/2015 10:28

I've been cold for most of the first trimester too!

Good luck to the scanners today!

I'm so nervous about mine next week. I've read too much about what can be wrong I think. I'm generally an optimist too.

Thanks coffee for your reply to my scan news, and I'm so pleased to hear yours was good too! Based on the scan measurements my EDD is now 01/12 so I think I'm going to join the December thread, but best of luck to you with your pregnancy.

Crumbelina · 20/04/2015 12:09

Oooh great news, Annbag and good luck to everyone with scan this week!

Annbag, my dates were 3 days ahead but the conception date would be the day before I had a scan and saw the follicle/egg (being monitored on a fertility drug). I definitely couldn't have conceived before the egg was released! I think they have a margin of error of about a week (not 100% sure though).

I'm still waiting for my Downs results - no phone call since the scan just over a week ago and so I've assumed that all is ok and that I'm low risk. Let’s hope so as I’ve told my closest friends and the in-laws have been given the green light (which mean that the world will know).

Nausea seems to have gone and I’ve dyed my hair and put some nail varnish on – feels like I’m emerging from the greyness of the first trimester! It all feels a bit strange now though – no scan for 7 weeks. I guess I’ll try and enjoy it but the realisation that I know absolutely nothing about labour and babies has really dawned on me. I haven’t the first clue about feeding, sleeping, what to buy, car seats, clothes, swaddling, how to hold a baby – urg! I guess every mother-to-be goes through this and is still clueless when they come back from the hospital. That’ll definitely be the case with me …

BowiesJumper · 20/04/2015 12:19

Ann, great news! Congrats on the lovely scan.

Crumb I'm exactly the same in the haven't a clue stakes don't worry!

Crumbelina · 20/04/2015 12:24

Hurrah Bowies, we can be clueless together! Smile

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 20/04/2015 12:41

Wonderful ann

TakesTwoToTango · 20/04/2015 12:51

Great news Ann!

Crumb glad to hear you are emerging from the grey! Mine went on until 16/17 weeks with my previous pgs but started a lot earlier with this one so I'm praying that the light is at the end of the tunnel for me too. I'm 10+1 today and still getting some pink/brown when I wipe. Scan is still two and a bit weeks away!

Annbag great news.

I had a great weekend (10 weeks) - actually had energy so went out to shop and see friends, didn't feel sick, less bloaty and slept really well. Except last night. Might be sunday night blues! Now feel a bit like back to square one with tiredness, but still ok sickly wise which I'm hoping lasts.

I'm def clueless on all this Blue and crumbelina will be relying on my sister to guide me through what I need and what i don't need and everyone on here :)

Countdown is on to 12 week scan on 5th May. Just hope there is something in there!

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 20/04/2015 14:01

I was clueless with dd. I don't even remember how I learned anything other than... you just do! Definitely remember being baffled by cellular blankets and swaddling and sheets. You just work it out somehow, probably making a few mistakes along the way.
When I was in hospital the first night with dd, I rang the buzzer to ask a nurse if I was allowed to change dd's nappy. She thought i was nuts. Suddenly having total responsibility of an entire human is very odd and I felt like a bit if a fraud because I was so clueless.

Same with me Annbag. I got told that "no news is good news" and no phone call in 2-3 days meant that things are ok. I stopped staring at my phone by day 4.

I would love to lose a bit of weight (looking so bloated at the moment) and I'm eyeing up my second ring doughnut of the day Blush

Glad lots of other people are as clueless as me! Very reassuring.

BowiesJumper · 20/04/2015 15:03

We'll form a "clueless mothers club". We'll be GREAT.

My skin is so shit at the moment - one spot goes and another one appears. Thank God for makeup.

cryingbabymess · 20/04/2015 15:13

Bowies my skin is awful at the moment too! One comes then goes and another one comes! Ugh! Confused I need new make up....mine doesn't last that long, what do you use? Also I've got a lot of spots down my cleavage!!

I'm total clueless about the whole baby thing too! Shock I'll wing it! Smile I wish the next 2 weeks would hurry up and go past so I can get my scan! Really want to know if it's 1 or 2! Panicking thanks to everyone winding me up! Confused everyone is also adamant I'm team pink!! We will see in November I guess...oh that's a thought, does any of your DH/DP's want to know what you're having but you don't or vice versa?! I don't think I want to know but my DP says he does but he will go along with whatever I want!

thatduck · 20/04/2015 15:27

Ahhhhh I quit smoking as soon as I got bfp but I've just had a cigarette :( I feel awfull buy atleast it tasted horrible so I won't be doing it again

TakesTwoToTango · 20/04/2015 15:32

crying my dh has been adamant he wants to know each time so expect the same this time. I didn't mind first time around so was glad to let him have that fun. Second time, it was lovely to know to prepare dc1 for what was to come. Dc1 is that much older again this time and will understand much more. She's desperate for a little sister so I think a lot of prep will be necessary if we are team blue again!

BowiesJumper · 20/04/2015 15:32

crying I've got some in my cleavage too - SO SEXY. I've just been putting a bit of savlon on them all but it doesn't make much difference. Sigh!!

I use Mac studio sculpt foundation, and then laura mercier high coverage concealer for under eye - but it works on spots really well too, so I use it all over my face where needed, not just under eye. It's really long lasting and doesn't cake. It is expensive but a tube lasts forever as you only need a titchy bit.

My husband wants to find out the sex, but I don't, but as you say - he'll go along with what I want! (He'll probably read this and laugh, he sometimes noses if I've left it open on the ipad. Ha).

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 20/04/2015 15:33

thatduck just forget it and move on. I think there is plenty of support for pregnant women struggling to quit so all your midwife if you're finding it difficult.

TakesTwoToTango · 20/04/2015 15:35

Oh no duck Sad Well done on quitting so far - it's tough being a mum but it's a great thing you are doing for your little one, even though it must be very hard for you.

BowiesJumper · 20/04/2015 15:43

One won't do any harm duck, at least you won't be tempted again!

Blueblink · 20/04/2015 15:57

Crying I also have a horriible spotty cleavage! I've been going to bed with toothpaste dotted on them... they are starting to calm down now (fingerscrossed anyway!)
My DP is also desperate to know what we are having but I really want a surprise! I've said he can find out if he has to, although i'm hoping that when the time comes he will opt not to!

cryingbabymess · 20/04/2015 16:25

Thatduck don't feel too bad, I did the same about 3 weeks ago and felt awful but it's only 1.....as long as it doesn't turn into 2 etc. I'm finding that the smell of people that smoke makes me feel sick which isn't a bad thing!

Blueblink I told my OH that too! I said we can find out but you've got to keep quiet but then I also said it might be noticeable at the 20 week scan and he giggled at the thought....yes he's 28 this year! Shock

I'm just leaving my spotty cleavage be, I used to have it 10 times worse when I was 15/16! It's my face that's annoying me! I'm getting too lazy in the morning at the moment to care too much about my appearance! But then when I look in the mirror I think why is my OH with me?! If that makes sense?! Just have wobbly bits about being ugly and away to get a bump etc!
