Hello, nervously wanting to join. I am 5 weeks. Baby no1 was IVF so this was a very nice surprise. Due 17th December. Thought I would be less nervous this time but totally paranoid! Seeing Dr today....

WaitingForEgg · 16/04/2015 08:47

Chopsface I am on holiday in Australia atm, didn't even occur to me the time difference haha!
Anyone experiencing symptoms yet? My husband works in retail (his own business) and Christmas is extremely busy for him Hmm but can't be controlled!

Fizzie100 · 16/04/2015 08:51

Slightly tingly boobs and wee bit nauseous over here...or is it all in my head I wonder?! Also just wondered...how do you work out weeks + days - very confused over here!

HariboBrenshnio · 16/04/2015 09:03

Fizzie - what date was the start of your last period? It goes by that, even though technically you aren't pregnant for 2ish weeks of it. So my last period was on the 12th of March which makes me exactly 5 weeks today even though I ovulated 3 weeks ago. If you google a due date predictor and put in your last period date, It'l give you a predicted due date too.

Fizzie100 · 16/04/2015 09:04

Thanks haribo. One calculator days 4 weeks and another says 5 weeks. LMP date was 11th march but confused on cycle because of MC earlier this year so likely 30-33day cycle?

Jebel · 16/04/2015 09:09

Babymed.com has a week by week calculator showing weeks and days. Useful for figuring out how many weeks you will be on x date. Also allows for cycle length.

HariboBrenshnio · 16/04/2015 09:10

For now your 5+1 as they don't yet take into account long cycles. That's what your dating scan is for. Once they measure baby around 12 weeks, you might get put back or forward a few days depending on when you ovulated.

Jebel · 16/04/2015 09:10

haribo have same EDD as you Smile

Fizzie100 · 16/04/2015 09:12

Thanks all! X

HariboBrenshnio · 16/04/2015 09:13

Due date buddies!

Fizzie100 · 16/04/2015 09:14

Anyone else got 20th as EDD?

WaitingForEgg · 16/04/2015 09:26

I think I am 20th too but lots of websites are saying different things from 20-25th

TerryTheGreenHorse · 16/04/2015 09:41

Fuzzie exactly the same as me. I used the NHS calculator which allows you to change the cycle length and I put in 31 which came out as 16 December.

Sweets27 · 16/04/2015 09:59

Morning all. So, TMI alert, last night after going to the loo I noticed a little bit of pinky brown, and I woke up in the night to pee and had the same, plus a little bit of dark red blood and clotting. I'm now trying my best not to panic! Not sure if it's worth calling GP/hospital as it seems to have stopped already, but wow, it's going to be a long wait til my scan...

chopsface · 16/04/2015 10:15

Maybe speak to someone if you have red blood sweets fingers crossed for you x

I have EDD 21st from nhs website but GP said 23rd so gawd knows. I just feel tired and slightly sore boobs as of last night in bed!

WhatsForYeWontGoByYe · 16/04/2015 10:17

Welcome waiting, fizzie and jebel (and anyone else I've missed - it's getting harder to keep up!)

Sweets it's so heart-stopping to see blood - I really feel for you. I think if nothing else happens then you can relax. These things do happen and babies are fine. If you get any more I'd get in touch with the EPU for some reassurance. What dates are you now?

Karelia81 · 16/04/2015 10:17

Terry my date is 16th too (although mw said 18th - but she pulled that figure off her head rather than checking anything).

Anyone else feeling sad? Been a bit teary over past couple of days. Think it's partially worry that something will happen and worry about uni work of which I've done bugger all for a while.

WhatsForYeWontGoByYe · 16/04/2015 10:25

Just worked out I'm nearly at the point that the morning sickness (or rather, all day nausea) kicked in last time... Weirdly, this pregnancy it's possible I've felt a bit sea sick since conception if I've got my dates right. So maybe it won't get worse?? hoping

Had a feverish, delirious toddler clinging to me for dear life all night last night so not feeling the sharpest this morning Hmm

Those of you with DCs who'll be 2/2.5ish by the time this one comes along - are you planning to potty train them first? I've heard conflicting things. Some say they're likely to regress anyway once the new baby arrives, thus undoing all your good work. Others say it was so much easier to get them out of nappies first.

I'm keen to wait as long as possible with DD as I just don't think she's ready yet and I don't want to stress her out! But will it be massively stressful for me to then have to do it later, when I've also got a newborn??

Our house could just end up being a massive poonami-fest.

Jebel · 16/04/2015 10:36

[sweets] I bled heavily in my last pregnancy for 2 weeks from 7-9 weeks. I had a haematoma and a a twin that didn't make it. But I got a healthy bouncing baby at the end. My doctor (am not in uk so attitudes are a bit different) put me on bed rest and then did a scan a few days later which showed a strong hb. I am not sure how far along you are but if 6+ weeks maybe see if you can go to early pregnancy unit.

whatsfor my dd will be just over 2. Currently thinking I will wait but she is aware of doing a poo so might re-consider if she seems more ready. Thanks for the welcome.

toadierocks · 16/04/2015 10:41

Hiya all Newbies and congratulations on your BFP's!

Sweets I hope you are ok? Give your local EPAC a ring, hopefully they'll offer you a reassurance scan just to put your mind at rest. thinking of you Flowers

Whatsforya DS will be 2 at the end of September and Iv literally just been discussing this! I have no idea what to do to be honest. He's no where near ready now and can't see him being ready in September. Also don't like the sound of potty training with a newborn either. I guess I'm just going to play it by ear and introduce a potty at around 2 and see what he thinks.

Sweets27 · 16/04/2015 10:46

Thanks chops, whatsforye, jebel. I'm 6 weeks exactly today. Might speak to EPU just in case, but I'm not sure what they'll do. I know seeing blood isn't necessarily the end, so I guess I have to just sit tight - but ti's going to be hard! Sad

TerryTheGreenHorse · 16/04/2015 10:47

Might be worth speaking to them to see if you can have a scan a bit earlier to put your mind at rest?
