Sending some sticky bap vibes to morecake

afloat that's pretty cool, although I can't imagine having a baby on a boat!

Last day of my holiday and the sun is trying to break through. Home tomorrow and then trying not to think about the ridiculous amount of work I need to do Sunday before school on Monday. :(

MoreCakeMoreCake · 10/04/2015 11:11

I've been referred for an early scan so just need to wait for an appt.
Doc says the bleeding could be a sign of an early miscarriage but could be nothing, so I just have to rest & wait for the scan. Not even 5 weeks yet & the earliest they'd do it at is 6 weeks, so more waiting....
Apparently blood tests at this stage wouldn't be conclusive either way, so that's not an option.
Have come home to an empty house & supposed to be working but just feel sick with worry. Can't get hold of DH as he never answers his sodding phone!
Am now thinking that the BFNs I've had with cheapo tests this week mean that the bean hasn't stuck & hcg has completely gone.
Aargh, hate waiting & not knowing. Thanks all for the sticky bean vibes!

afloat · 10/04/2015 11:23

So sorry about the stress, MoreCake. It must be so hard not to be able to talk about it with anyone. The waiting is awful.

ineedsomeinspiration · 10/04/2015 11:25

Thinking of you morecake and keeping everything crossed for a sticky bean.

I have twins in the family, my mum and uncle. Although they babies number 6 and 7 so hoping that is ok for me. Have no idea. How'd I'd cope with two.

Metalhead · 10/04/2015 11:34

So sorry to hear what you're going through morecake, I know how horrible it is to be in limbo. Fx for a positive outcome! Not sure why your GP wouldn't do blood tests though, it should be able to tell you if your hcg levels are still rising? Might be worth ringing again and asking a different doctor?

dojo123 · 10/04/2015 12:25

morecake sending you positive thoughts.

On the talk of twins. My mum is a twin and my dad has twin brothers. It skips a generation and come down the female line so yep there is a chance it could happen to me!

Hi all,

Sorry to hear about the anxiety sparkle, and your bleeding MoreCake. Do you know when your early scan will be? Fingers tightly crossed Flowers

It really does start getting a bit scary, doesn't it, waiting around for the first scan and not knowing. I've got my private one booked for 7 May, which seems like aaaaaaaaages away now. I'll be 9 weeks (am 5 weeks today).

As for the Christmas bdays, nice to hear some good stories of how to handle them! Actually a friend of mine has her birthday on Christmas day, which was always tough but they managed by having "Christmas" in the morning and up to Christmas lunch, and then they would clear away the table and have a birthday cake instead of Christmas pudding, so the afternoon would be her birthday.

I don't think it's great to have a birthday right next to Christmas, but that said, I definitely do NOT regret getting my BFP now - baby can come any time it likes, as long as it comes! Smile

Komnu · 10/04/2015 13:15

Hi Baps Smile

So sorry to hear about your difficulties Morecake, I can really sympathise. The waiting is awful isn't it. Fingers crossed and Thanks for you.

No real change here today in the sense that the bleeding hasn't got worse, but I'm afraid it hasn't stopped either. Called EPU equivalent again and they are surprised I've had no pain, and although they agree the bleeding and sadly clotting don't sound great, they told me to be 'open minded' as the absence of pain could still mean the pregnancy could continue. Who knows. Roll on next Friday's scan.

Serenity05 · 10/04/2015 13:16

Sending you good vibes MoreCake,, so sorry you're going through this.

I had some nausea yesterday but I wasn't sure if it was early morning sickness or just me having a dodgy tummy, however this morning it was back and accompanied by retching so I think it's starting.

Unfortunately I've had some terrible news this morning - DH has just been made redundant. Could not have come at a worse bloody time! He's got two months' pay so we have a good buffer and I'm sure he'll find something else quickly but we've suddenly gone from being incredibly happy to horribly stressed. :(

MoreCakeMoreCake · 10/04/2015 13:33

Thanks again for all the Flowers.

Early scan now booked for 20 April, so I'll be 6 weeks (if bean sticks). It's also the day we're going on holidays, Sod's law, so will just have to see what happens.
Still bleeding but no pain. Can't work or think of anything else so sitting here having a pity party for myself! Just spoke to DM but didn't mention it, thought it would be too much to handle with her getting upset (potentially over nothing).

Hope you're all having a good day & thanks again for the support. Isn't MN bloody marvellous?

Sweets27 · 10/04/2015 13:36

Lots of good bap vibes for you komnu and morecake.

serenity, I'm so sorry to hear about your Dh's job. Flowers Some comfort that he has 2 months' pay, but that must be really tough for you both. What does he do for a living (if you don't mind me asking)? Does he think he'll manage to find another job within the next 2 months? Must be a horrid shock for you both, but I'm sure you will come out of it just fine on the other side. Plus you have your BFP to keep your spirits up! Smile

Sweets27 · 10/04/2015 13:38

Oh great morecake, that's less than 2 weeks - hope it goes quickly for you Smile

megarobotdiscoparty · 10/04/2015 13:44

Oh ladies! We need some good news. So sorry to hear about DH'S job serenity - do you work or will it be your entire income affected? Fx he finds something quickly (ideally on double the salary!) and thoughts are with you konmu and cake. Hope you get some reassurance soon xx

Serenity05 · 10/04/2015 13:50

Glad to hear you've got your scan booked in, MoreCake, and sending you good vibes as well, Komnu.

Thanks, Sweets. He works in IT sales so there's plenty of work out there for him. He's already had colleagues saying they're going to contact people for him and try and help him. I'm confident he will get something, the stress is just not what we need right now.

megarobotdiscoparty · 10/04/2015 13:52

(PS I'm just going to bring some cake for the pity party and leave it here so we can help ourselves - everything feels better with cake Cake)

Serenity05 · 10/04/2015 13:54

Thanks, megarobot. I do work and we have a small mortgage so we can survive on one wage if it comes to it. Luckily my employers are lovely - I was in a right state when I found out and they let me leave right away.

megarobotdiscoparty · 10/04/2015 13:57

serenity glad to hear it - bit of understanding goes a long way at a time like this. Hope those contacts come through fast so you don't have to worry long. Definitely not what you need right now! x

Sweets27 · 10/04/2015 14:06

Oh that's such a relief serenity, so nice for your DH to have such supportive friends and colleagues. Fx for you both anyway.

megarobot you're right, we need some good news on here!! Anyone want to share something? I just got a free expensive hair oil from a friend who accidentally ordered one too many. Does that count?! It made me pretty happy, in the way that really important things like hair oil tend to.

ineedsomeinspiration · 10/04/2015 14:50

Sorry to hear about your dh job serenity.

Not exactly good news but I've had a lovely day. Up early as usual thanks to ds, dh is off work with an injury at the moment so we all went swimming. Then back home and packed up a picnic and went out to the beautiful countryside that surrounds us and had our picnic, dip some exploring and pond dipping. DS now completely flaked out and I am having tea (only one cup) and mumsnetting.

megarobotdiscoparty · 10/04/2015 14:56

inspiration that sounds lovely!

No good news as such but if you want a laugh how's this for mushy brain already in full effect - was in the loo at work and just put my hand under the hand-dryer expecting soap to come out. Was so shocked when it switched on! I've been waking up around 4/5am all week and DS not sleeping brilliantly - think I could do with a good nap!

TerryTheGreenHorse · 10/04/2015 14:59

Oh no serenity hope he gets something soon. Of all the rotten timing.

More cake & komnu have everything crossed for you here. I suppose the GP was saying it's the only way to know for sure? The test would show if the levels go up but I think they need to do it days apart and then your waiting for the results so this may well be less stressful.

I

dojo123 · 10/04/2015 16:53

serenity hope your DH finds something soon.

Not really good news but DH and I have had a lovely afternoon going around the shops looking at nothing inparticular. Thought I would pop in to bravissimo and get a non wired bra to sleep in as the boobs are get a little out of hand (only 5+2!) and have come away with a 38J "so I still have room to grow" what the what?!! Also it is possibly the most ugly bra I have ever bought (yet probably the most comfortable!) I have already apologised to the DH that it is most definitely not sexy underwear!

TerryTheGreenHorse · 10/04/2015 17:03

Wow, that's some BAP action! Mine have calmed down a bit but I'm constantly poking them people must think I'm very weird!
