Congratulations Magnolia! Glad to hear everything is ok

saltcod · 06/12/2006 00:51

Congratulations, Magnolia... glad it all went well

theUrbanDryad · 06/12/2006 09:19

congrats magnolia!! wooots!!!!! SO pleased it all went well...we'll be looking forward to seeing some lovely pics of your LO soon. AND you have your little bundle in time for christmas...don't mind saying i'm a bit jealous!

well i did the cold water thing last night AND SLEPT ALL THE WAY THROUGH from midnight to seven thirty when the alarm went off! is this a record? DH has gone back to work today after a nasty bout of manflu, so hopefully have got the chance of doing some cleaning today. not mad nesting urges though, just normal "my house is a shit tip" urges.

becks5109 · 06/12/2006 10:12

congrats magnolia - sounds like it all went well and how exciting that Ben is here for Christmas. Look forward to hearing lots more about it when you have some free time!

theUrbanDRYadWithSparklyWings · 06/12/2006 10:25

look! i changed my name for christmas....

sorry, i just got WAY too excited about that didn't i?

RGee · 06/12/2006 16:28

Many congrat Magnolia. Ben is one of my fav names.

Thanks for Lizzz and Oonagh for hospital bag advice.

Thanks too to Elliep for that great long list of all on this thread. Can't believe how many of us there are. I'm due on 5th Jan too (flavour unknown), but it is my first so will probably be late. Last week the MW told me the head was 1/5 engaged - it all seems to be going so fast.

Must dash - need a wee (at least 2 drips I'd have thought).

laughalot · 06/12/2006 16:47

rgee I predict a boy for you !!!!!!!!
HUGE HUGE CONGRATS TO MAGS AND FAMILY who will be next ?

LadyTophamHatt · 06/12/2006 17:18

Think we deffo need a new thread....come on 2Happy, you know you want too

I really can't believe we're all next girls, has this been the longest PG ever for you all? It has for me.
I never thought january wwould get here and now it's just around the corner.
I think we have the fullest/busiest ante-natal thread I've ever seen in the 4 yrs I've been a MNer. My sept 2003 antenatal thread took about 5 months to get to 500 posts whereas we seem to getthere in a matter of days.

So 2happy.....get you're thread writing/starting head back on

I had possibly the worst night sleep to date last night but, you knwo what?? I not even going to moan about it. I always seem to be in abetter mood if i;ve had a really bad night, I get loads of housework done too.
I'm a freak!!

elliepmummy · 06/12/2006 17:26

The mood has lightened on here today yipee (its the thought thats its all nearly over!!)

Just got home from my nans and had a lovely day as my mum took me and dd so no driving and my mum bought me a lovely new handbag for part of my xmas pressie.

Goota dash as its my works xmas do and my leaving do tonight so a chance to pig out and enjoy myself x

el123456 · 06/12/2006 18:23

congrats magnolia!!We have a benjamin aswell!Hope you are getting some sleep...
Feel like still got forever to go and we have left it to late to sort out bigger car so not sure how we are going to fit all four in!Very jealous lth,you are more organised than us!

LadyTophamHatt · 06/12/2006 19:01

Hmmmmm.....riiigght....Okayyyyy....

If I didn't knwo better I'd say these braxton hicks I've been getting for the last hour or so were early stage contractions
They're coming complete with the pressure you feel down there too...not just a rock hard belly.

Hmmmmm.......

2Happy · 06/12/2006 20:03

LTH!!!

OK, ideas for new thread title:

Due Jan '07 part 6: Welcome to the world, baby Benjamin! Right, who's next?! (LTH evidently...........?)

Due Jan '07 part 6: I pee 30 times a day, my legs are hairy as a troll's, and I can't reach to cut my toenails. C'mon January! (hmmm, bit long!)

Due Jan '07 part 6: I just can't get Nov '06's "ring of fire" out of my mind!

Due Jan '07 part 6: Raspberry leaf tea - looks like pee, tastes like pee!

Due Jan '07 part 6: You try being festive when you're the size of a house!

Due Jan '07 part 6: Just a month till we lose our pelvic floors, and gain our pelvic doors!

Due Jan '07 part 6: Santa baby, slip a baby under the tree for me (and save me the agony of labour!)

Due Jan '07 part 6: Oh the weather outside is frightful, and I'm IN LABOUR OMG!!!

Right better be sociable to dh, will continue thinking - let me know what you all think

GodRestYeMerryGentELMen · 06/12/2006 20:03

OMG LTH are you still getting them? If I've worked the dates out right you are almost 36 weeks?

GodRestYeMerryGentELMen · 06/12/2006 20:09

Sorry 2Happy..x'ed posts with you...

my vote is with
Due Jan '07 part 6: Santa baby, slip a baby under the tree for me (and save me the agony of labour!)

Does anyone else have an overwhelming urge to batter Nigella (Nigella's Christmas Kitchen BBC2) over the head with a cutesy wooden spoon decorated with festive ribbon (or is it just my hormones?)

2Happy · 06/12/2006 20:11

Thanks, ELM.
I fancy batetring the flipping cameraperson, can't stand all that shakey wobbly camera stuff, totally unnecessary and makes me queasy. Rant!

wilkie50 · 06/12/2006 21:16

LTH - how are you feeling - anything else happening? I know what you mean about bad night's sleep - went to bed at 10.30pm and ended up coming downstairs to play X-Box (vvvvv sad but true!!) until 2am. Then had to get up for work at 7am

How many people on this thread are still working? Those of you who are, are you finding it hard.....??? Nearly fell asleep on my laptop today I'm 33 and half weeks (don't know if it's a pink or blue one)

el123456 · 06/12/2006 21:25

You still getting them lth?Hope you are ok.xxxx

Loubie37 · 06/12/2006 22:04

wilkie - I'm 33+4 and I'm still working but not for much longer! Got the rest of this week to go, 3 days next week (have asked for 2 days A/L as can't bear the thought of another full week), 2 days the week after and then that's it until September

LTH - ooh, how exciting! I get lots of BHs too and sometimes they're really uncomfortable, especially when I have a lot in a short space of time. Sometimes I've wondered if I'm going onto prem labour but no such luck.....

Anyone else having trouble weeing? I sometimes find that I feel like I'm bursting, but when I go to the loo nothing will come out. This happens 4 or 5 times over a short space of time, and then finally I go and there's loads...surely it must have been there all the time, it can't just happen in the 5 or 10 minutes since I last tried to go?? Maybe it's because baby is lying awkwardly?

Right I'd best go to bed - I'm not allowed anything to eat or drink (except sips of water) until after my GTT test tomorrow so I'm going to bed out of temptations way!

Loubie xx
33+4

OonaghBhuna · 06/12/2006 22:33

2Happy I ike the one with the hariy legs and not being able to reach your toenails, they made me laugh!!! Especially as 5 mins ago my poor DH was cutting my toe nails, oh how romantic.......

Hattie2 · 06/12/2006 22:36

I'm still working as well, will be 36 weeks on Friday and another 2 weeks to go at work (in theory!) after that. Worked from home today (with dd 'helping'!) and decided that it's much easier sitting at a desk all day!

LTH - what's happening??? will be looking out for an update tomorrow.

magnolia - many congrats, love the name.

2happy - some great ones in there but my vote is for Due Jan '07 part 6: Santa baby, slip a baby under the tree for me (and save me the agony of labour!)

OonaghBhuna · 06/12/2006 22:39

Oh yes forgot to mention I finished work yesterday, I am 36 weeks.Hoping to be off until next September HOORAY!!!

Hattie2 · 06/12/2006 22:39

Loubie - same 'weeing' issue here. I'm going at least twice an hour and often feel desperate to go but then only manage to squeeze out a few drops. I'm assuming it's something to do with where baby is lying.

oh...my vote goes for the "santa baby slip a baby....." one.

Very good 2happy, you clever thing you!!

2Happy · 07/12/2006 08:17

looks like this is the winner! (maybe we'll keep the toenails one for next time, Ooonagh)
First day of maternity leave today! YESSSSSS!!!! (Actually officially it's annual leave, but it's all the same to me!) AND I managed to get some sleep last night! Woo hoo! (won't happen again for another month now!) Unfortunately ds is now having the world's biggest tantrum....some things never change
