ROFL!We might be able to plait them soon! I had to groom mine the other day. I was knackered when I'd finished its not easy doing it with the mirror and feeling your way round!

2MwahHaHaHappy · 31/10/2006 21:16

Well I was going to put something about being able to plait it and throw it over your shoulder, and about dh being ready to take the strimmer to it, but I figured that title may be a bit on the long side

Like the thread title.

Wish my bean would turn - it's breech at the moment and not holding out too much hope of it turning (although I realise it has ages to do so) because DS was also breech and apparently that increases the likelhood of this one staying breech.

at your homebirth LTH

Lizzz · 01/11/2006 08:25

Great title! How much more does waxing hurt durng pregnancy?! I nearly fell of the table last time I went and think I may have to get the bic out!

Sorry to harp on this, and I am definately bringing it up with my dr, but last night I was so ill with my heartburn I totally puked my whole dinner up. I know this is very gross, but none of the pregnancy books mention this. It can't be normal. I swear this pregnancy is the best diet I have EVER been on! Ugh! Off to work now, looking remarkably skinny! Btw - I work in a bra fitting shop and fit lots of mums to be/nursing mothers. If anyone wants any bra advice let me know! May we all be saved from coopers droop!

muppet3 · 01/11/2006 09:12

Love the title! Took me an hour with the nail scissors to try and tame the situation last weekend Bring on the nursing bra advice Lizz - I was thinking about getting a couple of those Bravado crossover ones which are supposed to be stretchy enough to go up and down a cup size with you as you change shape/size during the day with feeding. Would rather do internet ordering than trek to a shop with puffy ankles, sore pelvis and fluffy brain though...

OonaghBhuna · 01/11/2006 09:27

Thanks for the welcome elliepmummy, I am having a girl! My experiencing of waxing with my pregnancy was horrendous apparently we are much more senstitive when pregnant......! I took my DD swimming yesterday and used an old tube of veet which I hope did the trick as I couldnt see what I was doing!!!!!Its pain free and only takes 5 minutes but the smell is disgusting from the cream!

Ladywithababy · 01/11/2006 09:43

Nice new thread everyone, nice to not have to work out where you left off...

Lizzz I have suffered with the indigestion thing through this pregnancy too, the first time I thought I was dying and had no idea what it was, but then I was sick and within minutes felt so much better. My bouts seemed to last about 45 mins and then subside. But it is hideous whilst its happening. Fingers crossed it has only happened twice since. Really unpleasant though so I feel for you

Still perservering with waxing, the first time was soooo painful, but I am adamant that I want to keep up with it, although it's hard to tell when I need to make that next appointment

jessddibs · 01/11/2006 10:33

Loving the new title...but I must say that it no longer applies to me as I took my electric ladyshave to it and my garden is no more, it is more like a patio!!! Just shaved the whole lot off! feels very strange but nice and clean!! dh has yet to find out, not sure if it's his kind of thing!?! dd laughed out loud in the bath and said I look just like her now Bless her!

Got mw later so will catch up after that, gonna mention the back ache etc, so may or may not have some advice..

KnickNatPaddyWhack · 01/11/2006 11:28

Talking of nice clean lady gardens anyone planning on get the video camera out for the birth??

Katierocket - do you mind if i ask how you know your breech? I ask because my midwife has yet to touch my belly apart from doing the heartbeat check - also whats the deal with routine scans? our last one was at 20weeks but I'm wondering if they'll want to scan again prior to deciding if they'll book me in for a homebirth.

It's Christmas next month!

katierocket · 01/11/2006 11:33

KnickNatPaddyWhack - well my last pregnancy was breech so I had my suspicions because this one felt as though in a similar position. I had to go to hostpital when about 26 weeks (had a bit of coloured discharge) and midwife there confirmed it was transverse then regular Midwife (who always feels baby's position at antental appts) said it was breech. It's a right pain TBH - had an ECV which worked last time but really wish it was just in the right position!

Lizzz - that sounds grim, I would mention to the GP/midwife. They'll probably just tell you to eat little and often. Re: pregnancy bras - I HATE them , with a passion, can't wait to be able to wear underwire bras again.

Daisypops · 01/11/2006 11:36

KNPW-We will DEFO not be filming the birth. DP is more nervous and embarassed about been there than I am! There will be enough folk looking at my fandago thank you!

I think the MW just feels to see if your bub is breech. Last time I went she had a good feel and the head was at the top. It was like a little orange, ahhhhhh!!!

Dragonhart · 01/11/2006 12:31

Great title 2happy. Now is that reaching your knees in length or in growth down your legs? Both in my case. Cant be bothered at the mo so am planning to wait til nearer my due date.

Welcome oohna.

Lizzz, poor you about the heartburn. Had it last time but not that bad!

What mad person was suggesting filming the birth?! Are you really going to want to watch that back with all the family?

MotherBeaker · 01/11/2006 13:16

2Happy - you are the best thread title maker in the world . Caught sight of my lady garden in the mirror the other day and almost had a hernia, it looked like a mini version of the Amazon jungle, took my glasses off so that I couldn't see it and felt a lot better!

elliep - I'm having a boy.

Just had my 31 week appointment with the mw and everything is okay so I am good to fly on the 16th. Yay!!

jessddibs · 01/11/2006 17:25

I hate maternity bra's to!!!!!

Well had my mw appointment and things seem to be going ok. Bp is fine, my fainting is one of those things!, back/bum cheek ache is normal and caused by the babys resting position, the advice is to take paracetamol if bad but otherwise going down on all fours to releive the pressure on the back is the best thing!(have been given a list of exercises and advice leaflets but havn't read them yet)The baby is laying head down first (that bloody hurts when the mw pushes those fingers down to grab the head, bubba gave a good old kick at that!) thank goodness...but is measuring larger than 30 weeks!! My dates have already been moved earlier so I hope I am early, can't bear the thought of a whopper!!!

I have just bloody rubbed my eye after earlier chopping fresh chillies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! off for a cold eye bath!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2MwahHaHaHappy · 01/11/2006 20:00

Wow, jessd, hope your eye's ok, mine're watering just thinking about it!
MB - glad to hear the flying's ok, not long to go now!
DH - you're right, probably both, lol!
KNPW - I don't think we'll be filming it, mostly because I'll be too busy breaking dh's fingers with each contraction (well, men have to have some use in the delivery room, don't they?!)
Oonagh - welcome to the gang
Lizzz - any bra advice would be welcome! I've spent the last 18months either in pg bras or nursing bras, can't remember what a sexy bra is like any more (though with a 3rd trimester ladygarden, bad back and libido of a sloth, does it matter?!). Your heartburn sounds just awful, when are you seeing your doc? Hope they can suggest something.
KR - sending somersault vibes your way!
LTH - quite jealous of your homebirth actually. I wouldn't be allowed it anyway after last time, but every time I mention I would like one dh just goes pale and starts rocking, lol!
dh is out at a job interview just now, fingers crossed for him, so I'm going to watch the Tom Hanks film on BBC3 and mumsnet

Darn. It's not Halloween any more, and I've forgotten to change my name back
Still. Plenty time to startthinking about a Christmas name!

MerlinsBeard · 01/11/2006 20:10

This thread title has me ROFL!

Can't believe how may people are on it now! seemed like this was going to be a very small antenatal group at one point

LTH, thought you were due the 12th? had that date in my head and for soem reason it stuck that it was you!

still keeping up (sort of) by skimming quickly.

actually, i should never have beenon this duer month anyway (was due NYE!)

give those bellies a stroke from me please, good luck xx

Tillypup · 01/11/2006 21:04

Hi all! I'm new here, due date is 10/01/07 and I'm 30 weeks today. This is my first one and so far, fingers crossed, everything seems to be going great!

Daisypops · 01/11/2006 21:49

2happy LOL at your dh going pale and rocking'

Welcome to the thread Tillypup, do you know if your having a boy or a girl?

Thanks for back advice jessdibs it will take me 10 minutes to get on all fours!

I'm been a bit naive (sp) here, what do pregnancy bra's do for you? I'm still in my normal underwired ones. Are these bad for you?

Is anyone else feeling really really hefty and ungainly? I've eaten really well and had no cravings and I seem to be putting lots of weight on. I'm not too fussed aslong as bubs is ok, but if I'd had cravings and eaten crap I dreas to think how much weight I'd have piled on. Whats everyone else like. I hear the average is 2 and a half stone-ish?

Might have my ladygarden coloured pink and shaved in to a love heart for a laugh!

Wheres Urban? I don't think shes been around for a while.

Tillypup · 01/11/2006 22:01

Hi Daisypop,

Not sure if it is a boy or a girl, at the 20week scan the baby was lying in a funny way with its umbilical cord between its legs! The tech said it was highly likely to be a girl but she couldn't really be sure!

At the moment I don't feel too heavy really though i have put on a fair bit of weight. I think that because I'm quite tall and have a large frame anyway I'm carrying the extra weight pretty well, lots of people seem to be commenting on how "neat" my bump is! I suppose walking the dogs for 2 hours a day is having its benefits! As well as this I'm still doing circuit training, spinning and swimming!

LadyTophamHatt · 02/11/2006 08:06

Look, will you all just stop talking amongst yourselves please. I want to keep up but if you continue to chat I just can't.

Please stop all this now!!

MoM, i was due on the 12th but at one of my scans (can't remember which) he put my dates forward by a whole whopping great 3 days. I've never had my date moved forwards, always gone back so those 3 days are important to me
They mean bugger all to the baby though, I'm sure.

How are you? I really pleased you're still popping in, I hope it's getting a little easier. I think about you alot.
