If you're due in November 2015, well here's your ante natal club! Come and talk about vomit inducing man-scents, cheese roasties you simply cannot do without/or stand, the picked ice cream you must have right now, and the bubbling desire to tell the world but checking dates to restrain yourself!

Well that's my boss told. She was really happy for me which I'm glad about. She was speaking about when I'm going off and getting someone in to cover for me, I'm the MD's PA! That's my worry about going off, that the person they get in is better at my job than me Confused lol.

ninjabeer · 13/04/2015 15:23

Ooooh a pilot. What a cool job.

Just eaten 2 dairylea triangles on top of two giant sandwiches now skirt is too tight. Hmm

Blueblink · 13/04/2015 15:36

Lovely scan pictures focus and crumbelina

Pleased to hear all has settled down blue I think there were a few more scans booked in for today so good luck ladies!

I have a scan booked in tomorrow morning (I’ll be 9+3) we’ve already seen a (very) early little heartbeat so fingers crossed all is still well!

I’m off to find some dairylea!! Wink

CoffeeTwo · 13/04/2015 15:37

Promise I'm off to catch up soon but wanted to quickly update you that the scan went well and we have a baby with a heartbeat Smile no more bleeding today. I'm measuring a bit behind, I'm certain I'm 7+4 today and baby was measuring 6+5 but not too worried as she couldn't get a clear view and I had to go and drink lots of water! I'm relieved and hope this little dot sticks.

annatha · 13/04/2015 15:38

Its rubbish that people were gossiping crying but glad speaking to your boas has turned out ok. I hate how people feel like they can just say whatever they want when it comes to pregnancy and babies. I went in to work with dd the other day (I work in a holiday park and went onsite for the day, I didn't just turn up to the office for fun!) and all my workmates were asking when I'd be having another baby and when I'd be back at work. I felt really bad lying to them but I don't want my boss to find out through gossip.

Crumbelina · 13/04/2015 15:43

Cor, a pilot – how exciting!

My BIL is a pilot for British Airways and I was wondering what happens to pilots when they get pregnant (i.e. can they fly if they have morning sickness, does the radiation have an effect). Are you grounded from the moment you tell get a bfp/tell work?

AmandaMae · 13/04/2015 15:50

Hello all. Still struggling with the N and V, but had my NHS 12 week scan today. Measuring 12+5 so ahead of where I thought I was! Will need to wait and get the blood results factored in (same timeline as you, crumbelina) but the nuchal measurement was significantly under the "danger zone" for Downs. Being the oldest on here at the ridiculous age of 43, this is fab news. Not counting my chickens, you understand...

Gorgeous pics, crumbelina and focusfocus! Let me add mine to the gallery.

Lauramum23 · 13/04/2015 16:00

Lovely news about scans today!
I'm exited cos my scan is on Wednesday!!!! So I will get to see how many weeks I am, I reckon around 8 but not sure. I hope everything is ok this time.

Lauramum23 · 13/04/2015 16:03

Just had to peep at your scan Amanda how cute!
Wish they would show up on the app tho Hmm

BowiesJumper · 13/04/2015 16:07

Oo that's a goodun Amanda! It's all suddently getting REAL!

flyingsprocket · 13/04/2015 16:11

Cool scan amanda the lil baby looks so comfy!

crying glad it went with your boss

We are grounded as soon as we tell the company we're PG, it's the same for the cabin crew. Of course some people don't "find out" til quite late! They then find us some bullsh1t admin work that no one else can be bothered to do alternative ground duties. Legally you can fly/work as a pilot between 12 & 26 weeks but my company don't allow it.

As yet they haven't found anything for me to do I'm enjoying the sunshine & dreading each time the phone rings Grin

Focusfocus · 13/04/2015 16:14

Great pic Amanda! Looks very comfy! And tall!

Poppyninja · 13/04/2015 16:36

Loving the scan pics! Still have 3 weeks to wait for mine. Gah! I hate waiting!

Weirdly people in work have nagged me for ages about getting pregnant, since I have become pregnant they haven't asked. Yet. I'll keep them waiting a while longer anyway Smile good job really as I can't lie at all.

My friend did suspect and so did my sister but didn't ask me outright, waited for me to tell them

cryingbabymess · 13/04/2015 17:15

Woo just home and I've got my scan date through! It's the 6th May, I'll be 12+2! Excited GrinGrinGrin

stace1986 · 13/04/2015 17:17

Crying I had a similar issue today at work. First day back after some time off sick followed on by annual leave. A colleague who I am not particularly close with came over and said rather loudly is congratulations in order. I played dumb and she carried on suggesting thats why I had been off sick. I denied it and just said I'd been poorly. I dont know if she was just putting 2 + 2 together or if someone has said something as a couple of close work friends know. Although I'd like to think they wouldn't have said something. I am also very annoyed she felt the need to say all this in an open plan office! Aarrgghh. so rude!

Sorry rant over! :)

Blueblink · 13/04/2015 17:59

Humm I told a friend today who was less than impressed and glossed over the fact I'd just told her I was pregnant and proceeded to start a whole new conversation telling me all about her holiday she is planning to Australia! This has now led me to believe that maybe she is also trying and not getting anywhere.... (So then I felt bad for telling her) Either that it she is a bit of a dick! The jury is out!
If indeed she is struggling to conceive, shall I give her a wide birth? (excuse the pun)!

TakesTwoToTango · 13/04/2015 18:15

great scan pic focus!

annatha I agree - contact them and see if you can get it changed.

cryingbabymess · 13/04/2015 18:22

Stace how awful for you! What a cow!

Blue would she not have told you if she was TTC?

TakesTwoToTango · 13/04/2015 18:24

Gah annatha I posted my last message before I read the full thread. So they can do the nuchal up to 14+1 can they Hmm Amazing - as far as i'm aware that makes them the only place in the world, including the guys at the Fetal Medicine Centre who invested the test who can do it after 13+6. Excuse my sarcasm, but it really gets my goat when people try to fob off pregnant women with complete fallacies. Put it this way, I would brace yourself for the monographer to tell you at 14 weeks that it is too late and the person who told you they could do it until 14+1 was wrong.

If the test is important to you, is going private an option? It sound like your NHS trust is impossibly overstretched. I guess you could ask them to ket you ono if there have been an cancellations (which sadly will happen), or alternatively call them every day to ask, but that's not ideal. They can do downs (and other?) screening by blood test at, I think, about 16 weeks? Maybe look into that and see if that would give you the reassurance you seek.

TakesTwoToTango · 13/04/2015 18:25

blue I for one, am delighted to hear your diagnosis and it means (i) its treatable; and (ii) no issue with the baby! Hope you are feeling much more comfortable very soon. Constipation/trapped wind in pg can be excruciating.

NotSpartacus · 13/04/2015 18:26

Hi all.

Just a quick message to let you know that I had some cramps today so went for a scan and unfortunately the peanut no longer has a heartbeat. DH and I are really sad and I think this is the end of the road for us and babies. It's pretty awful to have a second identical miscarriage, and not something we want to experience again.

Bestof luck to the rest of you. I hope you all have fatastically easy pregnancies and effortless labours.

TakesTwoToTango · 13/04/2015 18:31

Gorgeous pic amanda!! And great news on the nuchal measurement.

Coffee great scan news for you too!

Blueblink · 13/04/2015 18:33

Oh my goodness, I am so, so sorry to hear this spartacus sending my love at this difficult time Flowers
