If you're due in November 2015, well here's your ante natal club! Come and talk about vomit inducing man-scents, cheese roasties you simply cannot do without/or stand, the picked ice cream you must have right now, and the bubbling desire to tell the world but checking dates to restrain yourself!

Blue sorry but sod your DP, yours and baby's health comes first. I didn't have any dull heavy pain with my sciatica so it might not be that, but its worth getting checked for piece of mind. Can out of hours gps do hone visits if you explain your situation? Or even speaking to them may help as they can advise if you need to go to hospital to get checked or whether it can wait. Put your foot down lovely!

cryingbabymess · 12/04/2015 14:30

Blue tell you OH to get a grip! Going out at 1 is taking the P slightly!!

I went to my mates this morning and got all her maternity clothes! Smile Got loads! Super chuffed. She's also given me creams and baby heart monitor which I'm not going to use yet!

TakesTwoToTango · 12/04/2015 14:32

Blue I'm totally with you on that. Sod the football! Hope your doctor can put your. Mind at rest.

Can't remember who was asking about spotting. I had it in both pgs wi my two dcs and no issues. I've had it for here weeks with this pg so far and had two goo scans at 6 and 9 weeks. It can mean nothing sinister, try not to panic.

CoffeeTwo · 12/04/2015 14:50

Thank you all for the well wishes. I had really bad cramps and back ache yesterday afternoon and then in the evening the spotting started. It was brownish at first and then turned pink and heavier. It got better over night and have had a bit more brown today and some mild cramps. It feels very much like my period is trying to start. I figured there was no point going up to hospital and I was better waiting to see what tomorrow's private scan produced. I'm also going to see my GP about it and see if he thinks I need any further checks, depending on the scan result. DH and I have been very tearful. I know this can be very common but I only have my one previous healthy pregnancy to compare to which just makes me worry. I'm 8+1 by lmp and 7+3 by my own ov dates.

crumbelina that's a beautiful scan picture congratulations!

bananas sorry to hear you're having pains, and that DH is being a doofus!

threebean sorry you've started spotting too, it's so worrying isn't it. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

ThreeBeanRap · 12/04/2015 15:04

Coffee I'm 8+1 by lmp too, I read it can be your normal period cycle thinking it should be starting so often happens at 4,8,12 weeks - hopefully that's it. 111 recommended I take another preg test which I did and got a really strong line immediately which helped a bit, have you tried taking one? Glad it's improved a bit today.

I am due to have a doctors appt tues morning first thing and have already told work that I've got a dentist appt booked in. I don't know whether to wait til then to see the Drs as it isn't getting any worse or to call and book one first thing tomorrow and just tell work I got the dates wrong or make something else up...or just tell my boss the truth. I have a meeting in the afternoon I really shouldn't miss if possible so don't want to just take a sick day.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 12/04/2015 15:07

I've had both situations to be honest. Brown spotting and then pregnancy turned out fine. Red spotting and scan revealed mmc. Brown usually isn't anything to worry about. Often red isn't as well! Unfortunately there is just no way to know. Miscarriage can happen to absolutely anyone but plenty of people have spotting and everything is fine.
Hope everything is well for both of you. Scan should make everything clear.

ThreeBean I had brown spotting for a couple of days just before my booking in appt. I spoke to the midwife about it and she was totally unconcerned - basically said that unless it is bright red blood then there is nothing to worry about. If you start bleeding red or have a lot of pain she suggested going to A&E as they could scan you there but it sounds like you don't have this - fingers crossed for you.

ThreeBeanRap · 12/04/2015 17:23

Thanks Heir. If it doesn't get worse I might just wait til my appt on Tuesday rather than going in tomorrow. Don't like the thought of another day of worrying though.

Lucy61 · 12/04/2015 18:32

Thanks Mamama, it's really reassuring to hear that your scan at just over 6 weeks didn't show a heart beat but the later ones did. I can't wait till the next scan in 9 whole days time! In the meantime, I'm knicker checking queen, although I'm aware that you can miscarry and not bleed. I wonder how common that is though.

Lucy61 · 12/04/2015 18:33

Annbag, how did your friend in Australia guess that you're pregnant?!Grin

Ha ha! I'm rubbish at withholding the truth too- I um and stutter and make no sense.
Those of you who are a little ahead of 7 weeks, does the tiredness ease? I'm sooo tired all the time. Today, I actually parked the car at the supermarket and had a snooze before shopping. I fell fully asleep for half an hour..

Have been lurking for a few weeks but tentatively joining. I am 8+5 with (a bit of a surprise! ) first baby although I have had an ectopic and a v early miscarriage before so feeling quite anxious although I am usually quite laid back. I have my booking appointment next Friday and yesterday got my scan date through for 6th May. Already feel like I have been pregnant for about 100 years (found out 4 weeks ago) but it is starting to feel a bit more real now.

High five to the other "geriatrics" here as I will be 39 next month.

Lucy61 · 12/04/2015 19:33

With my dc1 I didn't feel tired at all. I had sore breasts and felt queasy once or twice but that was it. This time round, I feel like I'm trudging through mud all day and I'm in bed by 8pm. Still pleased I'm preggers though.

reb2g08 · 12/04/2015 19:45

Feeling bit less tired this week but have had two weeks off for Easter so wonder if I will be exhausted again when back to school tomorrow!

I have midwife booking appointment this week- what to expect?

Crumbelina · 12/04/2015 20:15

I was feeling pretty pleased with myself last week - far more energy and my nausea disappeared. Smile

Come the weekend (12 weeks) and "bam" - nausea back in full swing and I'm knackered and napping.

Sorry that doesn't bring reassurance, Lucy. Smile Things have got better overall in terms of the strength of nausea/tiredness though. Still hoping for that "bloom" next week!

Unthoughtknown · 12/04/2015 20:17

Welcome doomclaw. I've been a bit fed up today I am 9+3 and feel like I've been pregnant forever. Can't believe still another three weeks (maybe more as no date yet) until my scan.

On a different note, is anyone taking preventative measures against stretch marks? I had loads during puberty so worried I might be prone to them. Also know there's not much you can do other than trying not to put heaps of weight on. I am still considering giving bio oil a go mind.

Crumbelina · 12/04/2015 20:18

Oh and thanks Coffee and Mama. Smile I love looking at the scan pic and can't wait to see everyone else's over the coming weeks!

Lucy61 · 12/04/2015 20:29

Bio oil worked for me last time. Not a single stretch mark but I've also heard that these things are genetic.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 12/04/2015 20:34

I didn't get stretch marks on my belly last time, but got loads on my arse. I don't think there is anything you can do. They disappear pretty quickly.
I'm in bed already. Not that exhausted but feeling sick alone in a dark room is better than feeling sick in front of the telly with dh. I'm just over 9 weeks- about the time things started to improve during last pregnancy so fingers crossed. I definitely didn't glow at any point though. I sweated a lot.
