Does anybody have trouble with breathing? For the past week I have struggled getting breath, I've even had to leave work early as I got so freaked out about it (which makes it worse). I also find it gets worse when I've eaten or when I'm hot. I sit with a fan facing me constantly in work as the air helps & at home now too. I'm panicking that this is going to get worse, if so in my 3rd tri I'm screwed!

Mrseb28 · 19/04/2015 21:29

Hi I'm trying to locate September due date group to join.new to mumsnet and a little overwhelmed at all the different threads!
Am I in the right place? X

Excitingtimesahead · 19/04/2015 21:38

Of course you can join Mrseb

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 19/04/2015 21:48

Welcome Mrseb.

Amusville-we had a JL appointment and bought nothing, neither on the day nor later on! There was no pressure to buy anything and they just showed us the things we asked for rather than wasting our time on things we knew we didn't need (had a lot of things given second hand by family and friends). They give you an online list which you can purchase from as and when it suits you - other people can buy from it too - and they deliver a few weeks before due date so you don't have to store it all.

Mrseb28 · 19/04/2015 21:59

Wahoo hello everyone :-)

I'm on baby2 have a DS aged 2 and half
edd 30th sept

Anyone else have severe back pain already? Currently on sick from work and prescribed codeine.

Ambientolf I struggle with breathing it can be a sign of anaemia ? Have you mentioned to your midwife x

ambientolf · 19/04/2015 22:11

Hi mrseb ...waves...

I mentioned it to my midwife who told me to see my GP. I then had blood tests for iron levels & thyroid on Tuesday but haven't heard back which I assume means all was fine (I will ring Monday to check). GP said I should come back if no better but she checked pulse, blood pressure, heart & chest & all was well! I just feel hopeless - like I'm imagining it or its psychological (which it could be but I'm not anxious... have suffered from depression in the past but definitely at my happiest now). I'm just hoping it's a normal pregnancy sympton & I need to suck it up but god it's driving me mad!! It's like my lungs won't let me take enough air in x

ambientolf · 19/04/2015 22:12

P.s. thats rubbish about your back! Is the codeine helping?

Mrseb28 · 19/04/2015 22:19

Ambientolf oh bless you. I would def ring for your results as my experience with doctors is that they don't always contact you. Try just take it steady. Maybe there's something that you are feeling a little anxious about but havnt Sussed what it is? It's amazing what our bodies do to us. Hope you get it sorted
Thanks painkillers helping but not solving the issue down on the waiting list to see physio in may. Hopefully that will help. Just surprised this time as had no issues with first pregnancy. X

Treaclepie19 · 19/04/2015 22:56

I get that with my anxiety ambient but I would ring for your results just to check.
I'm finding often my heart is beating quite fast which is worrying me :/

treacle i have bouts of fast heart beat too, gp said i wasn't that unfit tho so not worried????
This baby is a little kicker! Felt it from outside of tummy tonite for the first time :-D DP still not interested in finding out sex but im a little curious. Not that much that i want to pay £35 for an additional NHS scan tho!

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 20/04/2015 05:52

amusville we had our JL session yesterday and it was great. 2hrs is nowhere near long enough to cover everything so have priority items to discuss - ours was buggies, car seats and slings before I get too big!
As said before, no pressure whatsoever to buy there and then as you add it all to a list.
We found it particularly useful.with narrowing down the buggy choice - we played around with our initial frontrunner and a number of similar models. Also vetoed our proposed car seat as it didn't really work with the travel system we liked.
Was really good to play around with everything without feeling awkward!

ovumahead · 20/04/2015 06:54

ambient your breathlessness could be hayfever (or asthma triggered by hayfever). I get this sometimes and it really freaks me out! Could also be anaemia. If your blood come back fine please discuss the possibility of hayfever or asthma with your gp. Things like this can get worse appear for the first time during pregnancy. And don't panic! You're still breathing! Try not to gulp in air as you'll start overbreathing which will induce a panic attack. Just breathe slowly and low down in you're dizzy.

ovumahead · 20/04/2015 06:55

Lie down, not low down!

DeladionInch · 20/04/2015 07:33

jl probably not the best place to discuss slings, the majority of manufacturers don't have the clout to supply a company that big so you won't get a good idea of what's actually available. find a local sling library or look at Have Child Will Carry or It's A Sling Thing for postal hire Brew

Meinthecorner · 20/04/2015 08:07

Hello Mrseb we share a due date and I have a 2.5yr old boy too! Hope your back is better or at least less painful.

Jessica32 · 20/04/2015 08:29

Treacle I've bought nearly everything too, though haven't had it delivered yet.

amusville I did my list with JL and as others have said they're not pushy. It is good to set up a list if you think you will buy some stuff from them over the next few months as they can collate it all and deliver just before the birth (or earlier if you prefer). My mum was also able to buy my pram off the list but it's all still on the same order/delivery. I was planning on spreading the cost by buying a couple of things each month but got left some money so decided to use it for the baby. I didn't buy my sling from them though, have done that separately. The main thing to remember with the list is although you've chosen what you want, it isn't actually reserved until you pay for it (fair enough as we may never purchase). Once you've paid for an item they physically reserve it with your name on.

lovesmycake · 20/04/2015 08:46

ambient breathlessness is a common pregnancy symptom in the 2nd trimester it's to do with the hormones, progesterone? I think also your body physically changes how it processes the oxygen and C02 so can also leave you feeling breathless.

It doesn't mean it will get worse either it might ease off in the third trimester (until baby starts pushing on your lungs). Still get everything checked out that people have said but it can be a normal pregnancy symptom too.

Choccyhobnob · 20/04/2015 09:36

Morning all, we had a private gender scan on Saturday morning and it's a boy! Shocked me (which I know is silly as it's 50/50) but as everyone has been telling me from day 1 that it's a girl I had it in my head and couldn't imagine it being a boy but it definitely is!

He was kicking his legs but had both hands up on his ears so couldn't see his hands just his little elbows sticking out! Felt a lot of movement on Saturday and what I think was my first actual kick as it made me jump! Didn't feel anything yesterday though so he must have changed position again.

Mrseb28 · 20/04/2015 09:41

Has anyone has a private anomaly scan? My husband is in Denmark at the min working and has suggested we have a private one the weekend before NHS one so he could be there if god forbid there is anything spotted. Just wondered of they are worth their money? I had a private early scan for peace of mind and they were good but this scan is more money. Thanks x

Mrseb28 · 20/04/2015 09:42

Aww congrats choccy

Mrseb28 · 20/04/2015 09:44

Hi meinthecorner sorry for repeated posts still getting used to this! Are you finding out the gender? X

Meinthecorner · 20/04/2015 10:05

Mrseb we will find out all being well - we found out last time too. Our scan is on 18th May.

Mrseb28 · 20/04/2015 10:13

Oh how exciting meinthecorner we didn't with ds and don't think I'm going to this this one either. Our NHS scan is 13th may but hoping to do private on the 9th whilst DH is home. Are you hoping for one or the other? I would love a girl. X

ditzzy · 20/04/2015 10:38

Just got home from 20 week scan and seeing my beautiful little girl Grin Grin I know DP really wanted it to be a boy but he still looked pleased as punch! I've been naturally chatting to her as Daisy (our current preferred girls name) for week so I think I'd have had a bit of a shock at a boy!! (I did try to call her by our boys name for a while but it just didn't feel right...)

All looking good - except I have picked up yet another risk factor (to up with cardiac history, high blood pressure, asthma and age) of placenta previa... Currently completely covering but as it's also anterior, apparently that makes it more likely to move as well as explaining why I can't feel anything!

DeladionInch · 20/04/2015 11:34

I would mrseb dp wouldn't want to miss it! I actually got 2 NHS ones last time as they couldn't get his head, it was lovely to let my mum have a turn too (mil is too far away unfortunately)

We haven't told him properly yet but ds is talking about a baby sister a lot (happened to one of his little friends a few weeks ago) Wonder if he'll be right? Dn was 4 last time and knew ds was a boy at 12 weeks!
