Turquoise I'm having nosebleeds too, at least one a week. Never had one before pregnancy. The first time it happened I had to google "what to do with a nosebleed" as I had no clue! Must have been odd to wake up with blood everywhere.

Fanny daggers are also the worst! I've also heard them referred to on MN as "vagina shocks", "lightning fanny" and "fanny forks" Grin Perfectly describes the sensation, no?

leanne963 · 26/03/2015 10:16

turquoise I had a nose bleed last night too! So bizarre as I never get them either!

Woke up with a nasty pain really low down on the left side of my stomach, think it was just a 'poo pain' as feel slightly better after a bowel movement! Now I am getting fanny daggers yay lol

applecore0317 · 26/03/2015 11:41

Hate nosebleeds, haven't had them during pregnancy though thankfully

I still can't help but giggle at all the different terms for Fanny daggers.

I text the midwife this morning about these dull period type pains I am getting, baby is still a fidget bum so movements weren't my worry, and she has asked me to completely rest for two days take some paracetemol, have a bath and see how I go... really need to not go home from work today, but think I will definitely take the day off tomorrow

leanne963 · 26/03/2015 12:01

Oooh apple if the midwife says rest then definitely do it...with some tea and cookies too just to make you feel extra comfortable!! ;) I've been getting the dull period pains too, i think i have read a few other people have had them too, did the midwife say what it was?!

She's been great with texts, I am quite lucky with that. How are things with you today tori

She didn't say leanne just that if it gets worse to call triage. It's a dull type pain so could just be one of thise things?. Will rest tomorow I promise

Chookford · 26/03/2015 17:26

tori let us know how scan goes, as you say sure everything is fine...

turquoise I have nosebleeds too, never had them before, they are not fun!

apple as others have said if midwife is saying to rest then listen to her and take it easy for the next few days...

Feet are up now and will stay that way till Sunday I promise :)

Wow tori that's a good weight, if it reassures you my friend had growth scans throughout andwas estimated to end up with a 10lb plus baby... he was born at 7 and a half pounds :)

definitely speak to your midwife though if you're worried

Chookford · 26/03/2015 18:29

tori glad to hear everything is ok!

leanne963 · 26/03/2015 18:43

Wow Tori was a good weight! My LO was estimated at 3lb at 29 week's! At least we now the food we are eating is getting to them!!

SmileyScooby · 26/03/2015 21:12

Glad to hear not alone with the fanny daggers - loving some of those other terms. I told friend at work the fanny daggers term and she spat out her coffee laughing hehe if only they made me laugh rather than wince...not fun whilst teaching or driving!

Tori glad to hear things are ok, we've got a checkup scan tomorrow so will be interesting to hear what our little chubbster is at now roughly, fingers crossed not too fat!! He's been in the 90-95th percentile for head and belly all the time...

Have escaped full on nose bleeds so far but have had mini ones when blow nose, hope it calms down for those of you suffering :(

apple pleased to hear feet are up, hope you can relax for a few days

LinaDee · 26/03/2015 22:06

Sounds wise tori - get some rest.

On my way to diabetes clinic but have stopped off en route for fancy coffee and low-gi eggs and mushrooms, yum. Bit worried about my numbers this week though and think an early induction is looking more likely. Will see what they say.

On holiday tomorrow! Going to Norfolk. Never been. Anyone from that way?

shinyhappyone · 27/03/2015 09:14

Not from there longest but went last year and really liked wells-next-the-sea xx

Cockbollocks · 27/03/2015 09:59

Well honestly the braxton Hicks contractions can do one!!

Sat in bed last night with them one after the other and very uncomfy for about an hour, coupled with period type back pain.

35 weeks today and getting quite grumpy!!!!
