I've been wallowing in bed for two days now with a cold and hacking cough. Amazingly OH has been cleaning and organising while I have! Must do it more often!

Royalsteph · 19/04/2015 15:31

Haven't posted for a while. I hope everyone is okay and had a good weekend. hope the ladies that aren't feeling too well feel better soon. Can't believe in 2 weeks it's going to be may. the last few months have flown by

Cockbollocks · 19/04/2015 17:17

I have an app on Tuesday so will mention it, tbh I think its just labour rumblings but as I don't progress it will probably just keep on like this.

Thankfully my section is booked for a week Monday so at least there is an end in sight!

leanne963 · 19/04/2015 17:25

Thanks everyone :) I am such a proud aunty! And yes apple it is making me even more impatient to meet my little girl :)

Oh blondie that would have annoyed me too, quite disrespectful!!

Aw lina I would love to be able to go on some nice walks to stop me feeling restless in the evening but I always get fanny daggers when I walk and I just get lots of pressure on my cervix! :(

Oh cock sorry you are feeling rubbish :( the bracket on hicks are not fun! I can't seem to sit down without feeling my chest is compressed and my ribs are stretching :( you have my sympathies!

Oh scottish I hope you begin to feel better, your DP sounds fab though :)

sweet definitely get some rest in bed! Hope you feel better soon!!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, I am determined to get all my uni work completed by Friday so my day has been boring but ribs and chest hurt from being bent over a laptop for so long!!

Jenni2legs · 19/04/2015 17:43

Hi All, hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday. I've just made chocolate chip cookies with a couple of easter eggs and scoffed four in a row, it's made me feel both happy and a bit sick Grin

I found out my section date and it's four days later than it could of been as they are heavily booked, so will be 39±4 when she comes on 11th of May. A bit gutted as I've been counting down the days to the 7th May, but know that every day she cooks inside of me must be helpful for her.

leanne963 · 19/04/2015 17:54

Yay jenni must be nice to have a set date now! Oh cookies sound amazing! I'm just cooking a spag bol!!!!

Jenni2legs · 19/04/2015 18:49

Mmm, a spag bol sounds lush right now. We had rice and peas, both the kids ate it without complaint so that was a pretty successful dinner Smile
Already feel like I could eat again though.
It's great knowing her birthday now, have it all marked on my calendar with a countdown. #22days Wink

Turquoisetamborine · 19/04/2015 19:17

jenni it will fly for you and your baby will be here! Is rice and peas literally just rice and peas? I've always wondered. My brother cooked a roast so I'm still stuffed from that but I know I'll need to have some tea to feed the baby. Really can't be arsed to cook!

leanne you are such a proud auntie! How lovely that it all turned out well. Hope you get all your uni work finished. It's due Wednesday isn't it?
blondie that would have majorly pissed me off but most things piss me off at the moment. DS is really good but I'm looking forward to him going to school tomorrow so I can rest. I was trying to have a nap earlier (he's 7 so fine sitting with a DVD for a short while) and he started with his vuzuvela or whateve it's called.
lina I can't walk far now either. I always pay for it afterwards. I can't wait until I'm fully mobile again.
I'm just counting down to Wednesday now so I can meet my baby. If anyone has had a planned section, I'd be grateful for a rundown of what to expect. Last one was emergency and I was knocked out so totally different.

aberjen · 19/04/2015 19:18

Aww, Jenni that's DD's birthday Smile (and 2 days before bump's due date Shock)

I am really noticing it when I do a bit more standing and walking than usual. Had friends visiting this weekend and although they were brilliant at helping out and trying to get me to sit down I can't help but run around trying to be a good hostess. Feeling it this evening though! Will be 37 weeks on Weds and kind of feel like baby is more than welcome to arrive asap from then.

Jenni2legs · 19/04/2015 19:25

turquoise I've just read a lovely account of a planned section on Belle Du Brighton, which is a blog I follow. I've had an emergency and an elective and it feels much calmer in planned. But in a weird way I found it more scary as I didn't have the pain of being in labor to distract me.

It's doesn't even have peas in it! Grin It's beans and spices with rice, there's a great recipe on bbc good food. It's lush with jerk chicken.

Turquoisetamborine · 19/04/2015 19:42

Ooh I'll look that blog up jenni! Sounds worth reading. I just hope I'm not cancelled for emergencies. I hope it's miraculously quiet that day.

Your meal sounds lovely!

Scottishgal78 · 19/04/2015 19:42

Jenni you have Easter eggs leftShock

leanne963 · 19/04/2015 19:55

Yeah turquoise i have to edit a 6 minute video by Wednesday (my birthday and your little babies birth day - eeeek) and then need to do a 2000 word essay by the end of the week! I will try to do it but I have an extension if needed ha!

SmileyScooby · 19/04/2015 20:19

leanne your nephew is sooo cute!! Hope you get the uni stuff done.

Jessie welcome to the May madness :)

Blondie hope you haven't got anything from her :(

Lina its amazing how much pregnancy takes it's toll isn't it, didn't realise I'd be this achy! I hope you've been resting today and feeling a bit better this evening.

cock I've also got pretty much a solid belly, only time goes softer is when laying on side, as soon as sit up or am standing it's solid...most uncomfortable. Is this BH or something else?

Jenni good going with the cookies hehe

My hips are aching a lot more today and had some pelvic pain when walking around supermarket earlier, fingers crossed I just overdid the sitting at laptop the past few days getting this work done so can officially start maternity leave tomorrow (although still got couple of bits to finalise the major bits done!)

SweetPeaSoup · 19/04/2015 20:54

leanne what are are you studying, and with whom? I took the final exam for my degree when DS was 15 weeks old - I look back on it fondly now; not everyone gets to have a break with an exam invigilator watching them breastfeed! Interesting times!

Scottishgal awww sounds like he's nesting Smile

leanne963 · 19/04/2015 21:31

SweetPea Oh wow, fair play to you! That must have been exhausting but so so worth while to say you did that with being a new mum too!! I am doing journalism at the University of Gloucestershire. We are lucky that we can choose whether to do a written dissertation or a practical project, i chose to do a practical project so i am editing a 6.5 minute video of the UFO phenomenon lol! We are also supposed to be doing a news week in the middle of May where we are in 9 - 5 all week and have to create news bulletins to a deadline and it is tough!!! We did it last year and lots of people were in tears ha so i am being given a 2000 word essay on the recording and production styles of The One Show. To say that all of my friends are jealous is an understatement!

applecore0317 · 20/04/2015 04:38

That's great that you have your section date Jenni not long to go at all! sorry it's slightly later than originally hoped.

Fingers crossed yours doesn't get move Turqouise can't believe in a few days another May baby will be here :D

aberjen I know that feeling and I'm only just coming up to 35 weeks...

leanne hope the assignments go well! I did a drama and theatre arts degree and we had a choice of dissertation or write a play... I chose the dissertation, I don't blame you for going for the practical instead! Can't believe you are having to do this in your final month of pregnancy, rhe words 'Sod' and 'that' spring to mind :)

Back in the 4am club, knew two fairly decent nights sleep were too good to be true. She's been having a good fidgit since I woke up, hopefully not like last night where she caught a nerve in my back twice and made me gasp. I seem to have ballooned in the last few days. DH and my parents said thay my bump has literally had a growth spurt from no where, hope it stays this size...

leanne963 · 20/04/2015 08:54

Haha yes apple i have definitely had 'sod that' moments the past couple of months! Oooh I was considering doing drama, love acting!! But studying Brecht and Stanislavski was detering me, I am definitely more practical than academic!

I had a rubbish nights sleep too :/ achy hips again! Ouch the kicked nerves in the back sound painful!!

Blondie87 · 20/04/2015 09:36

Morning all, hope you're well. No sign of the bug thankfully so fingers crossed it stays that way!
Oh my gosh, tried perineal massage last night and it hurt to the point of bringing tears to my eyes! Has anyone else found this? Alway wanted a natural drug free labour but I think I'm just a massive wimp!

applecore0317 · 20/04/2015 09:54

Just bought up the how to do n 'wikihow' ummmmmm Shock

KittyVonCatsington · 20/04/2015 10:58

I haven't found the Perineal Message to be too painful at all (obviously I'm too old with a bucket fanny already!!) Maybe to start with, just put one thumb in about one inch and just press downwards for 60 seconds. Then after a few days, start seeing if you can do little u shaped movements. Start off slow! I must say I notice a big difference in how 'loose' things are now, after a month of doing it. Of course, Sod's Law means I'll still get stitches Grin

Justyouwaitandsee · 20/04/2015 11:20

Sorry to just dip back in randomly but I still struggle to keep up with everyone's post whilst on my phone.

Anyone struggling with the massage, perhaps a case of feeling too nervous or uncomfortable. Unless you are able to relax, then you are likely to find everything tightens /clams up, so best to focus on relaxing first and 'building up' to it, like foreplay I guess. Lube or oil should also help and ensuring you are somewhere private and intimate rather than putting yourself under pressure. Could also try in the bath. Best to start as early as possible, at 39wks tomorrow I am already struggling to reach around bump!

applecore0317 · 20/04/2015 12:35

I have olive oil wax, would that work?

Justyouwaitandsee · 20/04/2015 13:48

I don't know what that's like but I think you would be better to use an actual oil - wax sounds too sticky. I think you can use any natural, unscented oil (almond, olive, massage oil) or lubricant.

applecore0317 · 20/04/2015 14:41

its an oily wax, literally just olive oil but in wax form... I use it on my eczema, its actually designed for babies and nappy rash but has been amazing in my eczema :) so thought it might work. Will try olive oil first though :)
