I do have lower back ache and athe occasional twinge across my front but am not going to get excited as have been here before.

Charleesunnysunsun · 01/11/2006 07:40

Morning all!

Thanks for all your hint's and tips about the SPD, i had a roung night of it but im not feeling to bad this morning.

I have had some slight spotting again not after sex this time, i will mention it to my midwife as im seeing her today anyway, i hope she doesn't want me to have another anti-d injection, it's such a small amount of blood it hardly seems worth sitting around for hours while they sort one out.
Im still in alot of pain i am taking regular paracetamol in hope that it builds up in my system to take the edge off the pain. I do have so very strong painkillers for my backache but unfortunatley they don't agree with me at all so i'm staying well clear of them!

I have decided to go to my parenting group this morning i have been every other week and i have the midwife after anyway which is just down the road from it so i may aswell it may take my mind off things it's good to have a bit of fun now and again to make me feel human!

NJ - I hope everything goes well with your midwife today, hopefully those contractions will either give you a baby or naff off for a while!

Debbsy - You may just have ligiment paints where everything is getting ready but you may be in early labour so watch how things go and watch for any contractions or water leakings/ shows ect.
Same for you eeyoreuk a few twinges can lead to anything! Just keep us posted!

Sorry i don;t have time to reply to you all personally i have to go change my son's smelly bum and get his lunch done for playschool.

have fun everyone

purpleluce · 01/11/2006 08:51

Morning all ....when do some of you sleep? struck by the number of 1am postings last night...

Mind you my wake up time is 2-3 am and then 5.30 am so suppose it depends on your body clock.

Sounds like good news on the tens NJ - hope it helps.

Ladies with spd - did the physio say whether tens may help with that (not sure where you'd put it...lower down your back/on your bum?) I also wondered whether the ball may be counterproductive with spd?

Just a thought but I actually find it more painful to walk when I initially get off it and wondered what the experts thought?

who was eating crisps this am (sorry my brain is like mush, I spend lots of time trying to find the right person and then forget by the time I get back to the text box Put me in the mood for salt and vinegar if I can find them!

See you later

staceym11 · 01/11/2006 09:04

morning everyone, well thanks for all the encouragement, still feeling a bit down but am going to the midwife today to ask to be induced as i havent slept properly for over a week and am only managing to keep one meal out of three down, am so exhausted that i cant look after dd properly and doubt if il be able to have this one naturally if this goes on much longer! was 38 weeks on mon so they might consider it. am taking my mum with me for moral support. then we'r taking dd on a nature walk, she needs some fresh air poor mite!

youngmum21 · 01/11/2006 09:14

well all

I am offically going to be a nov mummy now as lo didnt want to make an appearance on her due date !!!
I hope everyone is ok there seems to be a lot of ppl feeling down on this thread1!!

xx

40Weeks · 01/11/2006 10:33

Morning all
Well this is my second to last day at work and have nothing to do so am sipping on my raspberry leaf tea and coughing away but am thinking of all you poor SPD sufferers out there - I reckon the Tens machine certainly cant hurt - its supposed to interfere with the pain signals reaching your brain so must be worth a try?
I am just shattered and fall asleep at 9pm every night, which is no fun for DH as we are supposed to be making the most of our time together before LO arrives. Seeing the midwife on Friday and then they will visit me at home after that, which is lovely! Am trying to make plans every day for my maternity leave - best laid plans and all that! Hopefully baby will make an early appearance!

eeyoreuk · 01/11/2006 10:50

Hi all those of you at the mw let us know how you get on.

I still have back ache but nothing else no show or uncomfortable stomach so probably just how i slept.

Salt and vinegar crisps i have loads in the cupboard do you want them they are always the ones left over.

Tinasan · 01/11/2006 11:45

Hi everybody,
Have a quiet minute to myself for the first time in a week - baby Elena was born a week early on Weds 26th October and weighed 7 pounds 4 oz. So she's a week old today!!! Had an episiotom and really bad tearing, lost lots of blood so am not feeling particularly great but the baby is beautiful and healthy which is the most important thing.

Best of luck everyone!

youngmum21 · 01/11/2006 11:49

eeyoreuk · 01/11/2006 11:52

40Weeks · 01/11/2006 12:08

Congratulations Tinasan - we did wonder when we didnt hear from you!
Eeyoreuk - apparently the sooner you use the TENS the better and more effective it is - dont know why excactly but thats what the instructions say - and if its a false start then at least you have practised using it! Good luck!

40Weeks · 01/11/2006 12:12

Just did an update for Tinasan and also as I realised I had never added myself to the list!

Kaybee7777 · 01/11/2006 12:21

Congratulations to all those whose babies have arrived It's all so exciting.

Sorry to hear so many people are suffering now. Take it easy and hopefully your lo's will arrive soon and you'll forget all about the pain and discomfort of pregnancy...

No sign of anything happening for me yet, just saw the mw and lo is only 3/5 engaged. I have told bubs that he has to at least wait until my last antenatal class (Sunday) and then he can come any time after that!!

xx

Debz99 · 01/11/2006 12:22

Hi all just checking in, still no LO got bad SPD today and a different chronic backache and very mild period type pains for last few days, apart from that I'm feeling wonderful LOL 39+3 today off to midwife later. Congrats to Tinasan and hope you are all doing ok.

Delia · 01/11/2006 12:37

Congratulations Tinsan, glad to hear your both doing well. Hope your feeling better soon.

saralou100 · 01/11/2006 14:08

congratulations tinasan!! well done on your little girl - elena is a lovely name!

40Weeks · 01/11/2006 14:12

Let us know what happens Eeyore, not that it means much, but have just got the sensation of saddle soreness - feel like John Wayne and everything aches (muscles and pelvis) - not sure what that means but its got to be good!

harrogatemum · 01/11/2006 14:50

Congratulations Tinasan!!! Elena is a really pretty name - might add it to my list!!

Well I have just got back from hospital........but no, sorry to disappoint you all - no baby, but another night in the labour ward in agony! I am so sick of this pregnancy now, I just want it to be over and done with!!

Went to my Mums last night feeling some general all over the bump pains and an hour later could not stand up straight or get off all fours. She had to get a neighbour to look after the DTs and take me into hospital - where they pronounced that yes I was contracting but not in labour.........GREAT! All that pain (and it was painful) for nothing - they had to give me pethidine in the end as I was screaming so much.

I am quite surprised that they have let me out actually without actually finding out what is making me contract like this. One of the midwives said maybe it was a kidney stone and this morning the doctors muttered somethign about fibroids, but they havent done any further investigating!

Enough of my whinging - I know lots of you are in the same boat with on again off again pain, just thought I would put in my latest experience!

eeyoreuk · 01/11/2006 15:17

well back from my walk just a couple of twinges nothing exciting.
Have tens machne set so that when wlaking did not notice it but now am sat still can feel it pulsing am going to try and have a nap

Harrogate it sounds like you have had an awful night hope it improves

40weeks could it be where the head is engaging ( 1st time mum) so am not sure

40Weeks · 01/11/2006 15:26

Sorry to hear that HarrogateMum - when is your next MW appointment? Maybe she can help you get this looked into - have to say the hospitals are always so laid back about stuff in my experience that you really have to push to get answers. Not always what you feel like when you are the one feeling rough!
