Hi all - re: dribbling - I'm glad it's been brought up - apparently it's a condition unique to pregnancy called pytalism. I've got it - it's very embarrassing especially when you wake up in the middle of the night to find a soggy pillow. There is a link to increased nausea as well - it should go when baby is born. Just another one of thoses lovely side effects of pregnancy...

better get some tea on for DP otherwise he'll go on a moaning spree.

All the best

LA

Bethbe · 15/11/2006 17:27

Dribbling! Me too!

Only ever heard it on here today! Assumed it was related to pregnancy but never came across it in any books or anything. My goodness, this pregnancy thing is messy, - and damp. I probably won't notice when my waters go now, - I'll just take it for granted that it is more pregnancy mess!

Off to post it on the 'things they don't tell you about pregnancy thread'! if my computer speeds up a little!

Kaybee7777 · 15/11/2006 18:17

Thanks NJ. We just got back from hospital and everything is fine, blood presure back to normal and lo's heartbeat is fine etc. Was half hoping they'd say I was in labour and to stay in and the baby would arrive but no such luck

NatalieJane · 15/11/2006 18:33

Kaybee, glad everything is OK It didn't take too long either.

The dribbling is horrible, I'm not having a problem with it when I am awake, it is just when I am asleep.

calsworld · 15/11/2006 19:49

Delia, congratulations on the arrival of Paige, you sound very relaxed considering the quickness of her arrival - v glad you are both doing ok.

Pinkmagic, congratulations on the birth of Yasmin, look forward to hearing more details.

I love the names you've both chosen and really hope your little girls are being good for you!

On the dribble thing, I too have been dribbling lots more in my sleep all the way through pregnancy - I too read about the pytalism and that it was linked to nausea - something to do with the swallowing of excess dribble causing you to be sick. I had to find some evidence of an excuse for my dribble - DH is not impressed by it! I think its one of those symptoms that they don't have any reason for though....

Went to aquanatal again this morning, feeling quite energetic but by the time I got home was absolutely shattered - 'napped' from 1.30 t0 5.30 so much for cleaning the other half of the bathroom!

Quite excited in a very childish way, DH has announced that hes taking Fri pm off and has booked a table at a restaurant for lunch - don't know where though - what's the bet its a curry house?!

Hope all those of you having uncomfortable nights have a better one tonight (have found a bowl of porridge just before bed to stave off hunger, along with numerous pillows to nest in gives good sleepy results!). Just need to remember not to guzzle so much squash so that I don't have to get up to wee so often!

podglet · 15/11/2006 20:57

Hi all,

Afraid I am another dribbler and it is horrid to wake up with the duvet and pillow really soggy! It hasn't gone yet (and no, I didn't dribble before pg) but am hoping it goes soon as DP really not amused with the amount of fluid I am losing from various places (boobs leaked in bed the other night too!)

Hope you girls don't have long left. DS is 2 weeks old today and as lovely as ever!

podglet · 15/11/2006 21:21

Hi again

Have posted a very small pic in Member profiles under "Podglet's shiny new DS"

Can't do links, sorry!

NatalieJane · 16/11/2006 07:37

Podglet I have just had a quick peak at Ivan, and he is just adorable I love it when their cuffs are as huge as their head, it makes them look all snuggled!! And you sound just like me, I woke up this morning with one boob leaking, dribbling, nose bleeding (it hasn't done that since I was pregnant with DS) and if I'd have woken up 5 minutes later I probably would have wet myself there and then! LOL I am so glad DH is out at work early every morning LOL I didn't know which bit to sort out first!!

I feel like a different person, I went to bed at 9 o'clock last night, I didn't actually get to sleep till gone 11 but even that is a vast improvement, I woke up about 3 times to move (which is a big job now, literally takes 5 minutes to turn over!) but I went straight back off every time, didn't even get up for a wee!!! Still got niggly period pain and a few BH, the very odd contraction that catches me by surprise, but everything else has just stopped. I don't know if I am very very very pleased to have the break from it all, or very very very pissed off because it all of a sudden seems like weeks and weeks away! LOL

DebbsyandBibby · 16/11/2006 08:36

nj i had the same nite as you maybe we are both getting ready....
Podglet he is gorgeous well done

NatalieJane · 16/11/2006 08:43

LOL Podglet, I keep looking at that picture, I feel like some sort of wierdo, I'm not, I promise, he just reminds me so much of a picture I have of DS when he was tiny, it is almost identical!

Debbsy, glad you got some rest as well. I don't think I am anywhere near ready for the birth now, I honestly feel like it is weeks away again. Have had a couple of seconds of pressure in my bum but it is when LO is moving so I think it is just that, other than that I feel great again. Still not sure if I am happy or not about that but there we go!! LOL

podglet · 16/11/2006 10:03

Thank you NJ and Debbsey!

LOL NJ you keep peeking away!

really hoping thisngs get moving for you soon xx

congrats to Kif and Pinkmagic too

velcrobott · 16/11/2006 10:10

Anyone getting hot flushes ? Sweaty in the night?

Kaybee7777 · 16/11/2006 10:16

Morning
good to hear you had a better nights rest NJ and Debbsy. I woke up a bit headachy again, but feel okay now. Just going to take it easy today.

How do I look at podglet's member profile to see the adorable pic of Ivan ?????

NatalieJane · 16/11/2006 10:16

Velcrobot, I got a few hot flushes a couple of months ago, but none for a while now. It is a normal pregnancy thing, nothing to worry about

I am having real trouble stopping this bloody nose bleed, it isn't pouring anymore but I can feel the odd drip going the back of my throat (sorry) it is horrible

NatalieJane · 16/11/2006 10:18

Kaybee, have you taken anything for the headache? If you click 'all topics' at the top of the page, then scroll down to the topic of member profiles, click that, and then look for the thread title Podglets shiny new DS (or something like that) it is there, or in fact have a look at the active convo's thing in a sec, I haven't left a message yet, so I will bump it for you.

velcrobott · 16/11/2006 10:21

Thaks NJ - I wasn't worried but wondered if anyone who was over their EDD were getting it too
