harrogatemum · 09/11/2006 16:06

oooh NJ does that mean it could soon be time!!???

NatalieJane · 09/11/2006 16:11

I am giving up wondering that now HM!! 4 weeks ago all the contractions started and I started loosing my show, I was absolutely convinced something was happening last night, but nope nothing! I am trying to just tell myself that it is going to be at the very least 3 weeks away, it of course isn't working and with every contraction and BH I am wondering if this is it again, but I am trying!! LOL

youngmum21 · 09/11/2006 16:49

hi all,

nj- Well didnt do any of the things i sed i wud do instead had a gud cry about any thing and everything, i even cried cuz i knocked my drink ova feeling a bit calmer now!! I put on a face mask had a nice shower and my period pains and bad back seem to of come bak which even though are uncomfortable im happy bout sad aint i!!
As ive sed ive been losing my show but it seems neva ending is this normal?

NatalieJane · 09/11/2006 16:58

Awww I did the same yesterday, got DS into bed, came down stairs, DH asked if I was OK, answer went something along the lines of "yes I'm OK Ok no I'm not {insert huge rant about absolutely everything, I think I even said something about the cup of tea he made me being too milky ...] Are you OK babe?!!!" LOL

It did make me feel better though!! LOL

Hopefully the pains will stay this time

And yes I have lost bits of my show for weeks on end now, sometimes it is a bit bloody sometimes just green, I think I read somewhere that it will replenish itself if labour doesn't progress, so I guess I am making more jelly stuff just for it to come away again a few days later. I think it is fairly normal!

youngmum21 · 09/11/2006 17:02

well dp didnt et to see my emotional out burst dont think he wud of known wot to do bless him ive been abit hard to live with at the min if you know wot i mean lol!!!

Well that gud to know it just seems to be coming out of me and it non stop and there is loads of it, it only been ova the last 2 days becuz of sweep and i know it not my waters as it is really snot like so just wanted to make sure i was normal

purpleluce · 09/11/2006 17:05

Hang in there guys - feeling your agony and sending painless labour vibes.

Harrogatemum my understanding is that 2nd babies don't have to engage weeks before labour like 1st ones and can engage and pop out too. Mine did engage a few weeks before I went into labour

good luck

NatalieJane · 09/11/2006 17:09

YM it is a good sign, it shows the sweep did do something, and if it has done that, then who knows where else it will lead?! Luckily my DH is very good, he just sat there listening to me whinge and wine about everything and then gave me a nice cuddle and massaged my swollen ankles for me

Purpleluce, how is it going? Is Samuel settling in well?

Charleesunnysunsun · 09/11/2006 19:37

Evening

Did you miss me?

I was admitted to hospital yesterday morning after another night of being uncontrolabley sick, i got to labour ward and they basicly said that apart from rehydrate me there wasn't alot they could do so i stayed and had 3 bags of saline to rehydrate me and guess what??????

Im now sitting at home with my DS2!!!!!!!!!!!

Just as the last bag of saline was going through i started getting some extremley painfull contractions in my bottom, they were just going to discharge me when i asked to be examined as i couldn't sit down from the pressure.

They said they would but not to get my hopes up as it was just braxton hicks, but after having these pains for about 2 hrs on antenatal i was 4cm dilated! They whisked me to labour ward for antibiotics for my strep B and then after an very easy labour with just a bit of gas and air at the end Baby Harry arrived at 12.16 this morning wieghing in at 7lb 6oz, a gorgeous little munchkin. He's feeding nicley and now were home!

Will update a bit more later.

Congrats to the others that have birthed and can't wait to here when the rest of you do.

harrogatemum · 09/11/2006 19:40

Charlee - huge congrats on the birth of baby HArry!!! How fab!!

Keep us updated on progress!

fondant4000 · 09/11/2006 19:59

Well done Charlee! Hope you and Harry are doing well.

Congrats to everyone else who's made it out of the waiting room.

Haven't posted for a while, but now back on broadband (at last!). Due 3 weeks today, but felt things change today. Something seemed to give a bit and cd really feel weight coming down a little, plus after walking about town all day am having period type pains. In the light of your experience NJ am not getting my hopes up!

In fact, only just got round to ordering the TENS machine this am, so now I've got to hang on at least until it arrives.

Will keep checking to see who's next......

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 09/11/2006 21:23

Hi all

Congrats to those with new babies, commiserations to those who are suffering. I'm firmly in the second camp. My BP has calmed down, I'm glad as I was getting fed up of sitting around in the day assessment ward and giving a daily urine sample. However with a cold and loads of aches and pain, including a sore bump and persistant backache, I'm lucky if I have a few hours peace and spending more time on the loo then any where else.
I decided to have a wander to the main shopping area the other day - I was completely knackered and cheated by hanging around to catch one of the few buses that stopped in my road (only three stops up) - 60p well spent!
Still no major burst of energy and nesting instinct - but I managed to make some soup and stuff for the freezer. I'm planning to sort through the baby clothes I've been given by my sister and send the small baby clothes back as I know for a fact that LO has gone past the 6lb mark. Have seen a consultant about my fears for the birth and she reassured me that the practice in Plymouth is different from Birmingham (where my sister was). I'll be seeing her again the week before my due date.
I'd rather see my baby though!
Good luck all, LA

Hattie05 · 09/11/2006 22:14

Congratulations to Charlee!!!! So they didn't induce you? just coincidence? Wonderful news!!

NatalieJane · 09/11/2006 23:14

Charlee I am so pleased for you - well done and huge congratulations I am hoping your SPD gets a lot easier now.

Same old story here, but I don't feel so sick tonight and actually managed to eat something, which is a big thing right now!

chubley · 10/11/2006 04:49

Charlee, congratulations!! How wonderful it must be to be back at home with your baby! Hopefully you'll start feeling loads better now that you're not pregnant any more.

I've been feeling a lot better today but have been getting irregular contractions with loads of pressure in my bum, so no sleep again tonight!

NJ, glad you got a good night's sleep last night.

NatalieJane · 10/11/2006 07:24

I had a dream that I went into labour, everything was fine and great, I gave birth in the pool, and the midwife said 'Oh my, you've got yourself a little..... football and he is a boy!!!' and there he was, this little football, all round and plump and covered in blood and guts and god knows whatelse, but there we were all stood round cooing and smiling.

So, is this a sign, are we going to have a football for a son?

FFS, I hate football at the best of times, but that was just taking the micky!!

DebbsyandBibby · 10/11/2006 08:09

Congratulations Charlee and welcome to the world Harry hopefully you will start to feel better soon Charlee tc
lol nj i look forward to your posts i dreamt i gave birth to a duck as im having a water birth, and i just kept crying saying he's got webbed feet.
Well I actually had an ok sleep last nite yesterday started with period type pain and pressure again bump has now dropped and feels very hard... does this mean i could have bibbles early do you think?
Hope everyone else is well who's going to be next???????????? xx

purpleluce · 10/11/2006 08:30

Charlee - congrats

and you too NJ a little football how delightful
Samuel is doing well, thanks for asking it was our week anniversary last night and after 7 days of easy baby he turned into insatiable sleep monster last night (insert eyes drooping icon) Lets hope it isn't the start of things to come!

Speak to you all soon

staceym11 · 10/11/2006 08:44

congrats charlee

hope all of you who are suffering are relieved soon, i feel so much better now!!!!

sorry didnt tell weight i dont own a brain anymore!! he was 7lb exact only one ounce more than dd!! he was also born 9 days early same as dd, very odd!!

well little keiran is brill, a little jaundice but fine, did get an exciting trip to hospital on monday as they needed to do a blood test and check he didnt need phototherpy, but luckily he fine!!!

Charleesunnysunsun · 10/11/2006 09:10

Thanks all so much, i bet your glad im not moaning anymore

He wasn't to bad last ngiht he woke a few times sometimes for a feed sometimes for a cuddle.
We have to keep a close eye on him as i didn't have a chance for my second dose of antibiotics before he was born but he seems fine.

It was a complete coincidence i just happened to be in hospital when i had to keep leaping off the bed everytime i got a contraction as the pressure was quite intense in my bottom! It was a case of being in the right place at the right time! I hink all the being sick probably started everything off.

Harry's grand still doesn't have a middle name TBH i wasn't expecting him at all (sound silly i know) but i was expecting her to examine me beofre discharging me and saying 'not a chance' so was plesantly suprised to get to 4cm without really noticing, i did loose a little blood beofre hand but assumed it would be another show that lead to nothing.

It was so much easier than DS1's birth i walked around the whole time, my bum didn't touch the bed untill i pushed him out, i lated untill 9cm without anything then had g&a which i was able to control this time. The pushing was really hard and oh yes the ring of fire was there but as soon as his head was born i did't feel a thing and quite frankly i didn't care because he was here!

DS1 is coping really well, he's really chuffed with baby 'happy' not really any different luckily, he did sleep like an angel untill 8am this mrning though!

I hope your all ok, i wll take the time to catch up with you all when i can. Take care

FoghornLeghorn · 10/11/2006 09:24

Charlee am so but extremely pleased too. Same due date and you have your little man to hold and I have nothing [sob] [sob] [sob].
Seriously though, you must so pleased this pregnancy lark is over with and you have your new little boy.
Stacey - Congrats - glad to hear your getting on well and Kieran is too.

Went to visit our new neice in hospital last night and she is absolutely gorgeous. DH and I came home very dissappointed our LO hasn't put in an appearance yet.

Have been taking Raspberry leaf tablets for about 5 weeks now but decided yesterday to open up the capsules and actually make Tea out of them to see if it made any difference - 5 cups later and still absolutely bugger all.
Only thing I've not tried yet is reflexology - that is next on my list.
DH's birthday tomorrow so he is hoping LO comes along then.

NatalieJane · 10/11/2006 10:34

Morning again

YM I am really hoping something starts for you before you have to go in, you must be feeling so frustrated.

I have been back into town, I saw a lovely little christmas decoration yesterday in M&S, and I ummed and arrred over getting it or not so remembering last year, my house looked like a christmas tree I didn't get it, but I couldn't get the bloody thing out of my head, as though chirstmas would crash and burn if I didn't have that little thing here So I went and got it, I can relax now!

I am sure this pregnancy has pushed my already ropey state of mind over the edge....

youngmum21 · 10/11/2006 10:51

thanks nj yeah i am really frustrated i now have no back pain or period pain and just cant wait for tomorrow now to be honest 41+5 and lo just doesnt want to come out!!!!

dp came home from work yesterday and he so excited that he will have his little girl by the end of the week had to stop myself from getting all emotional again, he literally cudnt sit still bless him!!!

Am not putting the tree up this year lets say the cats used it as a climbing frame destroyed all the decoration and i dont think i can cope with them messing around and a newborn aswell!!!

Bethbe · 10/11/2006 10:58

Lol NJ!

Morning all, - hope you're all having a good day! Went to Oxford Street yesterday, - what a mistake! No chairs any of the shops so spent lots of time clearing shelves of clocks, vases, books - whatever, so I could have the occassional sit-down (luckily the shop staff were too scared to comment - as if I might go into labour, - or just sit on them)- queues in loos, and cubicals that I had real difficulty getting in. Crowded sandwich shops so had to make do with McDs (sure the baby appreciated that!)

Today relaxing at home, but have M/W appointment tonight - approaching 39 wks!

Congrats to those who have made it and good luck to those still waiting. I must say, us November lot are producing very cute babes!!!!
