Gosh that 'due' list is sure getting smaller!

It is blowing a gale outside, really bitterly cold, it is a shame it isn't looking like rain, I think we could have seen our first snow fall! Having said that, last time it snowed up here we were so badly snowed in, no one could get in or out of the street, the schools closed, DH couldn't get out to work. It wasn't until the next afternoon we could get out, and we drove/slipped down the hill about 2mph down to Boots to get a pregnancy test!! LOL DS still talks about it when ever someone says anything about snow!! LOL

Anyway, the baby is being really quiet again today, I have felt a few little shuffles about in there, but mostly nothing, it feels like a bit of an anti-climax.

I know this is going to sound weird but, does anyone else ever actually sit down and think of the baby being in there? I mean about him grabbing on the cord, or getting frustrated because he has his leg stuck up by his ear. Does anyone else find it very strange to think of something that is alive with legs and arms and eyes and a nose living inside you? That there is a little human inside your belly? Swimming about, blowing bubbles and probably picking his nose and goodness knows what else!!

Obvously I do find all of the above quite weird, when you sit and think about it properly. And when I look at DS and think of him as a baby inside me, it seems so impossible and yet it is the most natural thing on the planet.

Hmmm, do you think I have had too much time on my hands today to sit and think about things?!!! LOL Sorry!!

NatalieJane · 10/11/2006 14:12

Oh meant to say as well: How can you have christmas with out a tree????????! That should be against the law!

Hey, did you know it is against the law to eat mince pies on christmas day in England? I really am going now!!

DebbsyandBibby · 10/11/2006 14:23

nj lol nutter

NatalieJane · 10/11/2006 14:28

LOL sorry I get caried away sometimes!!

Seriously though, do you ever think about LO sitting in there with legs crossed, or even him just sat there listening to your fingers pounding away at the keyboard? I find it really fasinating!

DebbsyandBibby · 10/11/2006 14:33

yes i do and it makes me very emotional.Just want it to happen now getting v v uncomfy how are you today?

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 10/11/2006 14:35

Hi NJ

Yes I find it really weird as well - I thought it was because I am a first timer. Sometimes I spend ages just watching LO moving my belly around. The cat finds it interesting to watch as well - DP just finds it freaky.

Strange - baby is very active and heavy - I have every sympton and ache going - yet sometimes I forget that I'm pregnant... Think my brain is turning to mush .. ah well - see ya all later, LA

NatalieJane · 10/11/2006 14:38

Much the same really, I have managed to push the contractions to the back of my head again, except for when one is actually happening, but unlike two nights ago I'm not counting and timing and everything else, which really gets you down after 4 weeks!!

Still loads of discharge, loads and loads of BH's more than I have ever had actually, lots of pressure, lots of swelling... the moans could go on and on!

How about you?

(Just for the record as well, when I siad about it not seeming likely to rain, it is now absolutely chucking it down - just in time to pick DS up - and it is sleaty so we might have some snow yet!! )

NatalieJane · 10/11/2006 14:40

LA, our cat won't go to anyone now except me, and she will sit on my lap for as long as I let her, I think it is because I am warmer, but she will not touch my bump at all. Once she had her front paws on it and the baby moved and she jumper across the room, so now even if her tail rests on it she will stand up and turn around so she isn't touching it! LOL

DebbsyandBibby · 10/11/2006 14:41

its gone really black here too!
Where are you? im in staffs

NatalieJane · 10/11/2006 14:43

We are up near Blackburn (in Accrington) but we live up on a bit of a mountain so we get the worst/best of the weather, it can be raining down in the town but snowy up here, or the other way, it can be misty or foggy down there and bright and clear up here!

DebbsyandBibby · 10/11/2006 14:46

oh i know there i go to a group of pharmacies there (pharmaceutical sales rep)its very high up isnt it?

NatalieJane · 10/11/2006 14:50

Yep, it is lovely in the summer, but the winters can be quite harsh! When it has snowed though, and all of the other peaks we can see are covered in snow, it does look lovely

eeyoreuk · 10/11/2006 14:52

saralou100 · 10/11/2006 15:10

and all the sympathy from people really doesn't help... another line i'm bored of, 'these last few weeks are really uncomfortable aren't they!!' no shit sherlock!!

i also want a fag and a pint down the pub! i don't know why, i just do!! i miss it!!

saralou100 · 10/11/2006 15:11

i'd rather just have the baileys!!

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 10/11/2006 15:13

I'm fed up of being pregnant too, fed up of being tired. On a positive - there is no rain forecast for plymouth until tonight - it's cloudy - but pleasantly warm - good thing as I have to take trip to the post office/corner shop shortly.

My cat seems fascinated by my bump - sometimes he runs in and puts his head against it as if listening to LO's heartbeat - he's quite young still - only 3 so probably thinks it all a strange adventure. He's given up trying to settle on my lap as there isn't enough of it for him. He likes to sit close to me though.

Still no nesting instinct - so much to do - so little time - so little energy!

Have fun everyone. LA

DebbsyandBibby · 10/11/2006 15:18

come on lady ann get feathering your nest lol #
