Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had the first baby, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

Sorry to hear you had a bad night daholster!

Sorry you've been poorly too AnniaFausta.

Perhaps I was lucky but mine were read both times TheBooMonster, midwives both referred to it when talking to me but a different hospital this time so may be different.

Hope you feel better soon Wineandchoccy, good news on baby being engaged :)

Very excited to have been described as skinny with a big bump today Grin don't thhink anyone has ever described me as skinny before!!

I used the avent manual and electric ones mswibble, I bought the tommee tippee one but found my nipple was too long for it Shock and it rubbed terribly so I sold it on. Got all three that I used second hand and were all fine.

That's no early HeyitsHolly, lots have finished by then! Hope work are kind to you and yay for your understanding Dh :)

Pants Misty414! Enjoy the sleep though Wink

Cheerful hv RL20!!! Hope it goes much better than worst case senario!

Had a horrible evening last night, over ds's again but more him and his mum being difficult. So annoyed at how DH handled it but he was crying (which he doesn't do often) so I couldn't get cross. Feeling wiped out now after all the emotion and a busy day today! Off to school in 10mins for the afternoon onslaught!

RL20 · 17/03/2015 14:49

Also Daholster, RE the mattress. It's just not worth risking so I agree that buying new in cases like that is best. thumbs up

kismac · 17/03/2015 14:52

Ooh exciting, Siarie!

Ha ha, Boo. Your poor DH. I think that's very sweet that he rushed home.

Being an idiot has paid off. I decided to get all my finances in order as I'll only have some sort of salary for first 9 months of maternity leave and Im taking the year. So discovered I've been paying contents insurance for a property that I've been renting out since 2010. Bank is now going to pay me the money back. He he.

Oops kismac but good news on the refund!

When timing contractions what is the gap - beginning to beginning? End of one to start of next? Not that i'm anywhere near that yet I hope!

IvegotaCaveTroll · 17/03/2015 15:22

Everythingzrosie loose women just talked about thread especially one story where a mum found a Pringles tub filled with a viscous liquid Confused in her boys room! Then they showed nasty room pics!

Yay! Good to know I don't have oddly long nipples SqauttingNeville Blush

daholster · 17/03/2015 15:57

firaffe I timed the gap last time. Don't know if that's right! I did a MN thread on my birth last time because the mws kept saying it was probably prelabour... It was far too painful for that and bloody well wasn't! Luckily MN ladies backed me and made me ring them more... and held my hand! It was very touching acutally. The hospital eventually agreed to see me when my contractions were 2 mins apart but lasting 45 secs each time - I didn't hit their target of contractions lasting a minute! But as I pointed out, I would have preferred them to last a minute and have 4 mins rest - their aim was less than 4mins apart lasting 60secs. That didn't happen my whole labour, they were closer but happily never quite that long!

Having lots of BHs this afternoon too. I wish I could stop getting my hopes up!!!

Trying to do my portfolio. It is about reflecting on experiences with clients, doing online learning etc. I am very, very bored.

daholster · 17/03/2015 15:58

lol re long nipples!!! Breast feeding nipples do look long Shock So glad they shrank back in between!!!

daholster · 17/03/2015 16:21

squatting maybe you should be prepared in case this dc does come as early as ds?! Shock

I am posting lots because I'm bored and because I realised I feel a bit blah about the week... I spend my time counting down to dh coming home. I've no interest in the rest of the week. Which makes me sad because I should be looking forward to the time I get with dd (who I love more than anything in the world). I feel like I am counting down and doing nothing else. But there is so much else to do and I don't want to do it! I just want to curl up on the settee and watch tv incessantly and yet be in a pristine (ha never) house with the nursery done and my portfolio complete... and just waiting for dh.

I'm not even looking forward to seeing my friends tomorrow, or evening swimming, certainly not my out of hours shift and not my mw appointment on Thursday, or my friend on Friday... Just would like to curl up and hibernate til dh comes home.

sigh

I need to give myself a kick up the backside!!! All kicks welcome. I have got it good, why should I dare to feel blah?!!! I so want everything done but I just don't want to do it!

daholster · 17/03/2015 16:27

And also these are the last days I get just to spoil dd. Do you know what, I should think like that. Our time together as a two is so precious! I should treat her tomorrow and give her as many cuddles as she will tolerate Grin

FiRaffe · 17/03/2015 16:58

Mummy daughter time sounds good daholster!

Thank god it's 5pm. ...counting down the days!

Nunkie · 17/03/2015 17:27

Afternoon!

Underwood and Daholster - are you having your babies at Frimley, as in the one near Camberley? (or is there another Frimley?) Because if its that one i heard they have loads of swish new facilities :0)

Sorry you've had an uncomfortable night, Daholster. Hope the bump jad resumed full wriggling duties.

Feeling a little ungrateful today, reading of all of you that are still struggling into work and feeling ever so slightly envious! I have the luxury of working from home at the mo (in part, it must be said, because we had to close our office down and go remote a few weeks back :0( ) but i don't feel like i'm getting on with it well atm. I just keep getting distracted by baby thoughts and finding myself gazing wistfully outside. Do hope i'm less cabin-fever-prone once Peanut is here. Confused Walking into town or going for a little run definitely helps, but am one of those people that responds badly to being cooped up inside by myself, yet can be a bit rubbish re doing anything about it unless forced. So i know how you feel, Misty, re not enjoying your time off!

On the upside, did add a few more things to the hospital bag earlier. Which is just as well as Peanut will hit the 37 weeks milestone tomorrow! (hooray :0) but where did all the time go?)

God, that TommyTippee pump sounds craptacular - must put that on the Avoid list!

Lauren82000 · 17/03/2015 17:31

I'm in shock! The mw actually rang me back on the same day. Shock It's unheard of. Anyway they have squeezed me in on Thursday next week at a centre down the road. Just need to see if someone will cover for me so I can get to it. Hmm Hate being the only full time person you have to work everything round the part time peoples hours.

I too keep thinking I should be making the most of it just being the 3 of us and treating DD to as much attention as we can. I'm sure no matter how much we try she will still feel a little pushed out at some point.

Mmm ordered Dominos for tea since DH has gone out. Let's see how much I can stuff in my tiny stomach. Least I'll have a bit of help with the toppings as DD like to just eat the pepperoni off the top and leaves the pizza. Smile

RL20 · 17/03/2015 17:46

Scan went well. Definitely isn't measuring 30/31 (I'm 35+1) like the midwives thought, but have been told he's 'not a big baby, probably more average' have no clue as to what average actually is though?
On my notes the 'estimated weight' for this week is 5lbs 8oz.
Just glad everything is ok and he seems to be growing at a normal/good rate.

RE Tomee Tippee Breast Pump - no idea about actual breast pumps myself but when exchanging something in Toys R Us customer services the other week, the lady behind me was queuing with her Tommee Tippee Breast Pump. So could have been returning or something I'm not sure

Lauren82000 · 17/03/2015 18:12

Hmm managed 8 slices and half a box of wedges. Blush Not sure how I'll make it to DDs bedtime now I've got a full tum, I'm nodding off.

And RL dd was 6lb 6oz at 39+5 and she was on the 9th centile... 75th in length though, I must have starved the poor little thing at the end! Still with breastfeeding she didn't even drop any weight and was 75th centile within about 8 weeks Blush - where she should have been probably!

And nunkie yes that's the one! The mw led unit is beautiful... The CLU I'm hoping isn't too bad either since that's where I'll be! But I've not seen it.

smogsville · 17/03/2015 18:34

That's an impressive showing on the pizza front Lauren.

daholster here's a gentle and very kindly kick and only bc you asked for it Wink

There is nothing wrong with wanting everything the way you want it when there's a baby on the way, a small person to looking after and an absent-in-the-week-through-no-fault-of-his-own DH. I've said it before I'll say it again, throw yourself a bone!

TheBooMonster · 17/03/2015 19:07

firaffe I got an app for timing contractions, so you click when one starts and when it end and that gives you the length and then again when the next one starts which gives you the space between, as you add more it gives you an average length and gap. Pretty sure it's called Full Term.

I had a tomme tippee manual pump initially I only tried to use it when I had colostrum as we moved up to an electric pump but it was a bit weak, I think unless you naturally had boobs like a sprinkler system under pressure it might not be very productive...

With DH home I went and had a 4 hour nap, DD conned him into feeding her half my chocolate mousse pot's!! Shock I swear she gets some sort of drain off from my cravings as she's always depose rate to eat the things I buy specially for me Hmm

TheBooMonster · 17/03/2015 19:08

rl Dd was 4lb 7oz at 36+2 she was estimated on the scans to be barely 3lb though!

RL20 · 17/03/2015 19:45

Thanks for the weight estimations! Interesting. I suppose they can never be accurate, until baby is here fully cooked and is weighed! Grin

Boo - I've just downloaded that app, thanks!
Also, I hope you're keeping an eye on this thread! Wink The posts are building up quickly again! Thread 14 soon! Grin

Midwife in the morning - 9am! Shock I don't think I've felt the 9am air for a while! I suspect it's just to go over what was said at the hospital scan today so that they know.

Other half had the left over of cottage pie I made last night, which means I get to have a dinner I want Grin Obviously usually I make a dinner for us both (can never be bothered to make 2 separate dinners), so chicken, chips, spicy rice and garlic bread for me Grin I've really wanted to have this dinner because I bought some of the Nando's peri peri salt from ASDA yesterday which I love Grin I went through a phase one time - pre-pregnancy believe it or not - of having ham with spicy rice with peri peri salt and mayonnaise as a lunch time meal. Yum

smogsville · 17/03/2015 21:19

Got some v low down pain on right side that waxes and wanes. Had it most of today. Could it be a urine infection? Or something else? Too low to be appendix.

Have looked at pic of female anatomy on web, it looks like it's where the bladder/ urethra are.

No other symptoms and baby v active.

Any thoughts? Planning on ringing mw in morning and dropping in a wee pot to GP.

daholster · 17/03/2015 21:33

Appendix moves in pregnancy and you can get referred pain but you'd expect it to be getting worse I would think. Maybe UTI or could even just be pressure from baby? Havent lifted funny have you and given yourself the start of a hernia? Or even just muscular...

I would say UTI is the place to start - drink lots in the meantime.

Thanks for your gentle kick and the bone suggestion Smile Hope your pain settles soon.
