Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had the first baby, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

Hey cinnamon all info and help is welcome!! Grin I asked for it, lol! I really need to just get over it and give the poor bloke a break! It literally is once in a blue moon at the minute.

I'm thinking me on top is going to be most comfiest for me. Just hard to get in the mood to begin with! Confused

RL20 · 09/03/2015 20:33

Wine I suppose it's no worse than hearing friends stories etc, is it? Everyone's different I suppose. One of our neighbours was telling me about his daughters labour earlier. She was only in labour for an hour! But prior to that she had been referred to another hospital, different to the one she had been registered at for the birth, because of stomach problems. So I suppose it's all ups and downs isn't it.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 09/03/2015 20:37

well pretty much anything that doesn't involve pressure on the bump! so ...
"you and me baby we ain't nothing but mammals..." LOL

I've actually had more libido since getting pregnant than I had before... scary!

Hidingthefear · 09/03/2015 20:42

RL were still DTD Wink last night DH sat up and I sat on top, it's easy to either rock backwards n forwards or if u prefer, up n down movement. Tmi lol
we only ended up DTD last night because DH said I should take perineal massage seriously and he'd do it for me. Must be love lol
Cinnamon that sounds very interesting Hmm like a reverse cowgirl? On my back is ok but I struggle breathing after a while

Benn struggling to keep up now I can't read at work Sad And then home time has been consumed by other stuff. Boiler on the blink which means crappy boiling to freezing shower, or an age to fill the bath. Looks like we need a new one Angry
And when it's time to chill on the sofa we end up in a discussion about DH taking a new job
. Such bad timing but he's going for it Confused on the plus side the new company has said they don't mind waiting until May for him to start because they told him a first baby is all consuming and they don't want him trying to get started and then taking time off, and seen as he has the skill set they want they are willing to wait. Only problem now is the boss at our place is off on hols for 3 weeks so he's gonna have to hand his notice in by email or text #awkward

next baby stuff is soo cute, if I had the money I'd get so much baby stuff from there!

PenguinPoser · 09/03/2015 20:48

RL totally know how you feel, I feel
I should go for it as well before the baby comes, but really can't be bothered! DH has been helping with my perineal massage but I find it quite uncomfortable so even that isn't really a turn on! Spooning position works ok I think Smile

I had a read of the feb/march threads too - preparing for what's to come!

Cinnamon pleased you feel a bit better it's always good to have a bit of a rant to a friend.
Boo doesn't sound like you're a bad mother at all I'm sure your DD won't harm at all for having buttons rather than fish pie, hope she doesn't wake up hungry though as that means a busy night for you!

My delivery finally arrived at 6.20pm Hmm better late then never I suppose.

PenguinPoser · 09/03/2015 20:53

Cross post Hiding - might try the perineal massage again with DH later and see how things go! I agree about next baby stuff - gorgeous! I got some vouchers for next from work when I left so can't wait to find out girl or boy and buy more baby things! Sounds rubbish about your boiler -Brew to keep you warm! And not ideal timing for new jobs as you say but good luck to your DH and it's really good that they are willing to wait for him.

TheBooMonster · 09/03/2015 21:03

we're still DTD when he gets on at me enough, though could have thumped him last time, and he'll be lucky to get any between now and 2 months after! He'd been hounding me several times a day for OVER A WEEK and when I finally gave in he made me have one 'it's no fun if you don't have one' and then refused to have one, after all the begging and crotch grabbing he'd been doing!! I need that spunk for cervical ripening or whatever! Git!

I love a good birth story! I was thinking we should probably start the post-natal thread some time soon so people can post their birth stories there and those of us who are a glutton for scaring ourselves senseless can have a snoop!

RL you're a good woman for even contemplating it. Esp the garden maintenance beforehand. I plan to resume normal relations when baby 3 months old, boobs not leaking spontaneously and baby hopefully sleeping in some sort of 'pattern'. I may even buy some sort of lingerie item. Although probably won't, in reality, or I will and then it will live forever in its bag at back of wardrobe.

So tonight at 8pm a good hour after bed time DD appeared in the hall out of her pjs and dressed in her tankini (sent from DH's sis in NZ) and declared she was 'getting ready for summer'. Sometimes they do manage to be quite cute these kids of ours.

Squatting I adore DTTB but DH won't watch it I will have to save it for mat leave (the excitement of some solo sofa and remote time!). He is watching the football which I usually veto but I am being enormously magnanimous and letting him as it's man utd aka his team.

Wine - yes me too re bath getting out.

Cinnamon, that stew sounds fab. They're v lucky to have it. I'm glad they enjoyed it and you had a good run and a natter. I have no spatial awareness so can't quite figure out your DTD position but as long as you're enjoying yourselves, good for you! Blush

Hiding, does this mean your DH will get his pat leave though? Bugger about the boiler, they're such temperamental beasts aren't they.

Oh dear, man utd are playing very badly = grumpy DH. I might retreat to the kitchen to polish off the last of the Istanbul airport baklava in peace. I say last, but there are five good sized squares.

cinnamongreyhound · 09/03/2015 21:17

We manage weekly which Dh is happy with and my libido has decreased with this pregnancy so we are actually more evenly matched at the moment. I feel like a highly unattractive heffalump so it is hard to get in the mood but he still clearly fancies me so that helps.

Meant to say sorry to hear your little lady won't be going home as soon as you'd hoped Dancestomyowntune and it really sucks that no one is looking after you, I do think you should say something to someone.

I got that next maternity catalogue and put it straight in the bin, can't afford to look!

I found perineal massage highly uncomfortable and not at all sexy, haven't bothered this time as I figure mine has already taken a battering giving birth to a 9lb2 baby Wink

Love a good birth story and will be watching OBEM tomorrow night Grin

Lauren82000 · 09/03/2015 21:18

I actually felt sort of in the mood the other day but by the time we went to bed I was asleep in seconds. Good job I didn't tell DH he nearly got lucky or he would of thrown a hissy fit.

We tend to use doggy which does nothing for me and leaves me feeling a bit chafedBlush. Me on top caused some bleeding in the second trimester so it put us off doing that. Can't beat the old spoon for lazy can't be arsed sex and I suppose if you can manage on your back with pillow support-DH stood at the side of the bed and you on your back at the edge (if you can visualise it) Wink must try the leaning against the wall from behind as that might be better for me than doggy but could cause issues as we are the same height pretty much. Confused

I now have a new nickname- pregaflump Grin had the tape measure out again tonight and bump is 39cm that's so not right is it? 2 weeks ago I got 34cm. I'm only 33+5 Shock we shall have to see what the mw gets on Wednesday.

cinnamongreyhound · 09/03/2015 21:19

Dh liked my milk smogsville Blush so didn't need to wait for it to settle!

cinnamongreyhound · 09/03/2015 21:20

From top of uterus to pubic bone Lauren82000?

minipie · 09/03/2015 21:21

Marking place. Afraid I can't join in the DTD talk as haven't been up for it for months - too afraid of kicking off early birth (unlikely but after Dd came early I'm not taking any chances) and now I'm just too huge and uncomfy anyway! impressed with you all though!

smogsville · 09/03/2015 21:27

cinnamon, megalolz! I don't think I'm
liberated enough to be able to cope with the possibility of DH liking my milk BlushBlushBlush

Lauren82000 · 09/03/2015 21:34

Yes cinnamon it was even a bit before my public bone so technically should of been bigger! I'm convinced I'm measuring it wrong even though I know I'm not.

With being much bigger than I was with DD I keep feeling like I'm further on than I am. Have to keep reminding myself how far along I am. I'm thinking I'm going to be closer to the 3 week mark than the 6 week mark especially with the period type pains and the BH I've been having. I never had that with DD and she was 2 weeks late!

daholster · 09/03/2015 21:35

RL edge of bed... If your bed is high enough or dh will kneel... Prop yourself with pillows... This isn't private enough for me to say any more, people could work out who I am for sure if they wanted! Blush I am quite unique in my medical history and my name isn't that cryptic!!!!

Feeling very bloated again

TheBooMonster · 09/03/2015 21:37

Shock cinnamon not sure I could ever look my husband in the eye again if he liked my milk... or even dared to taste it face near my boobs was another thing that's almost earned him a battering since the colostrum arrived

anyone else finding they can't bloody eat?! We ordered a take out because DH forgot to get pizza on the way home, I barely managed half of what I'd normally eat and this baby is meant to be head down with her head at least a little bit engaged!

OP posts:
smogsville · 09/03/2015 21:45

Depends on (presumably) baby's position Boo. Sometimes I feel v full but most days I confess I am packing the food in fairly well.

cinnamongreyhound · 09/03/2015 21:45

My boobs are quite important to me while dtd so I guess he just got some and thought actually it's ok!

Yes and if I eat after 7 TheBooMonster I almost certainly will vomit when I go to bed Sad

Lauren82000 · 09/03/2015 21:49

I agree with the boobs and dtd cinnamon but since being pregnant I've wanted him no where near them it just makes me cringe if he touches them. They aren't even sensitive or sore the feeling just makes me want to hurl. Hope it goes back to normal after the birth.

RL20 · 09/03/2015 21:56

Oh no Hiding! I can sympathise with boiler problems!! We've had no heating or hot water for a week but thankfully back on now. But now the washing machines packed in. It makes you realise what we take for granted without realising!

Penguin that's how I feel, like I probably should before baby is here or at least until I feel a bit too far along, (34weeks today). Hmm.
And what's this perineal massage thing everyone is talking about? Feel like it's something I should know... Oops!

I still haven't had a look at the baby clothes in Next yet! Probably because I know I'll love them and want to buy it all but won't be able to!
I popped in BHS today with my mum and had a look at their baby clothes, not a huge range but some lovely things! Had a look in the sale and managed to get a Pumpkin Patch all in one suit which feels lovely, some fort of posh 100% something or other wool, can't remember the name of the wool but it feels very lightweight and cool. It was £4 from £20!

Smog I love that, 'some sort of lingerie item' ha ha. I can't remember what nice lingerie looks like! It's hard to feel 'sexy' at the minute and I feel like I need to in order to get in the mood!

Thanks everyone else too, I can't keep up with all of your stories! Grin
I appreciate all of your TMI!
So tired now and got slight heartburn, which makes me feel a bit sicky, so don't think it'll be happening tonight.
I did tidy up the lady garden in the bath though, blindly though as I can't see it!

Boo I know what you mean, I can't eat big meals anymore and struggle to eat a medium sized one. I seem to snack more, which isn't that great in the long run I suppose

FiRaffe · 09/03/2015 22:22

You're all so good with your Dtd. ....definitely not letting DH read mumsnet now!

DH is thankfully so excited about seeing baby tomorrow afternoon that I think we're good for today!!!!

daholster · 09/03/2015 22:28

I feel rotten again Sad and I feel really panicky about it Sad I can feel the panic rising and it makes my throat tight and me feel sicker Sad

BananaToast · 09/03/2015 22:37

Ugh I just did something very silly. At almost 8 months pregnant I decided to try on my old jeans to try and gauge how long it'll be after the birth before I'm back in them. I now feel enormous! My ones that were too big round the waist still just about do up (with a massive muffin top) and my well-fitting ones go nowhere near me. I didn't expect them to fit as I'm obviously much bigger than I used to be, but with the birth getting nearer I'm generally quite worried about the state my body's going to be in afterwards. At the moment it's part morbid curiosity and part dread.

On another (not altogether more pleasant) note, those of you who are doing perineal massage - how often are you doing it/how long for? I've started in the last week or so and not finding it too uncomfortable but I'm not sure whether that just means I'm being too gentle.

londonlivvy · 09/03/2015 23:04

marking place. very impressed with all this shagging. We only share a bed once a week and the odds of that being the day I feel dynamic are pretty slight. But now that you remind me that it could start labour... I'm feeling keener. So very bored of being a fat slug of pregnant aches and pains.
