Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had the first baby, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

Thanks for support re my rant earlier. I will do something about it, started an email to their customer services and may add another review just need to work up the mental energy. Sorry about your harassing phone calls ebwy , block the number?

Bit behind so catching up:
cinnamon I agree with what daholster said , it seems because your DH has little time with your DSS so he is super keen to make it positive, but he really needs to realise that eating a few more forkfuls isn't going to ruin DSSs visit , and that by playing good cop bad cop with you he is only causing more, bigger, problems!

mswibble those flapjacks sound like something I'd cobble together! I put roasted peanuts and peanut butter in the last flapjacks I made. Yummyyyyy!

skyra that's good BIL has told you what he's getting you. Makes it easier to plan I think. I've had plenty questions /offers from my side but DHs fam haven't asked what we need or want... Not once!
I'm sure they will be generous with gifts but it might well be stuff we have, stuff we don't want or need? Hormones making me over think this I think.

kismac don't feel guilty about finishing early. Take care of yourself!!

nunkie and brix I wish! No mobile signal here so landline....or isolation!!

dances sorry to hear that Tiger Rose isn't coming home as soon :(

Oh forget this catching up there's about 50 posts on a new thread now!! Gawwwwd
Hope everyone has better nights sleeps, I'm propping up my massive swollen feet and hams for hands xxxxxx

Wineandchoccy · 10/03/2015 00:45

I can't sleep baby is using my bladder as a trampoline Sad
DH has gone in the spare room because I'm tossing and turning so at least I've got the bed to myself!

PenguinPoser · 10/03/2015 03:05

I'm with you Wine no sleep here either. Can't breathe due to cold, can't get comfortable anywhere. Worried I'm keeping DH awake. Tempted to go downstairs on the sofa but have propped myself up with pillow behind and removed my back/bump/leg support pillows as getting into bed was becoming a mission in itself. Will see if I can doze. Nowt glamourous about this late pregnancy malarkey is there!!

Rustyzilla · 10/03/2015 03:41

Hello hello! After an epic 48 hour wait in hospital after waters broke on Friday things started to get going naturally, albeit very slowly over the weekend. Then in the early hours of Monday I got an infection so was whisked to delivery suite for induction. I will spare you all the details for now but after a 16ish hour labour on syntocinon drip with just G&A and diamorphine I finally had baby Harry at 10:22 last night (Monday) weighing 5lb 8oz at 35+6. He is delicious and I am bloody exhausted!

Think I've caught up. Sorry, to those that I've missed. I hope everyone is ok.

Aww that's wonderful news Rusty. Congratulates! Hope you are both doing well.

Sorry to hear about your car Saire, I hope the damage isn't too bad.

Aww, cinnamon. It sounds like you are having a rough time. I hope things settle and DSS is just going through a phase that will pass quickly.

Hiding, hope the boiler gets sorted soon.

Dances, sorry they are having to keep Tiger in for longer but she is in the best possible place. It'll not be long until she is home and you can really enjoy her.

Im getting lots of cramp when I walk, to the point that I have to stop and have a wee puff. I must look like a crazy person.

Im not managing to eat much at the moment. Hence, the reason Im now awake as I needed a snack.

RL, I'd mention the heart palpitations to your midwife. I know it's fairly common in pregnancy but that's what set the doctors off into doing more tests. That and having a heart murmur, being breathless and just feeling really exhausted. I didn't really have a birth plan as they kept putting me off. Im high risk, so think I just have to do what they say. Back at hospital next week for results but it looks like I might not make it to my due date. Which has terrified me. Was told to cancel my holiday to London on 19th March, so feeling a bit fed up.

RL do mention it but don't get worked up about it, most palpitations are innocent and worsened by worry, especially if they have been investigated before. It sounds like you are describing "ectopic beats" as your previous diagnosis, I have them too. Also have random fast heartbeat up to 150bpm too, all investigated and told nothing to worry about.

babiecakes I'm so sorry you are still having to manage without Tiger-Rose at home. It won't be long Flowers

Rusty congratulations!!! Well done you! Would've been nice if your body had got on with it itself but it doesn't actually matter does it? Just gas and air and a beautiful baby boy! Not much more perfect than that!

Sorry to hear your news re holiday and possible early induction kismac. Don't be gloomy, there's a beautiful baby waiting at the end of it Smile

penguin I hope you got comfy.

Dd woke at 4am shouting "Kaitlin AWAKE!!!" "Downstairs mummy!" Hmm Not sure why. We watched a little TV in my bed then did nappy and stories and coaxed her back into bed at 5am. Left her in bed with a book and a jigsaw but all seems quiet. No idea what that was all about? Maybe she is trying to ruin me with sleep deprivation?!

Texted dh who replied saying he wishes there was something he could do but at least I wasn't in labour which is what he thought the text might be!!! Poor bloke must be really on edge!

Ds has definitely moved back up out of my pelvis, little monkey. Super thirsty but rather bloated for drinking, bags of water again and still burping spaghetti bolognese! Confused and his hiccups are no longer behind my pubic bone but left lower abdomen and his bum is up under my ribs with wiggly arms eight lower abdomen I am sure. Pest!!! Keep telling myself the same though... There's a lovely baby at the end of it all, I just hope it all settles back to normal when he arrives otherwise I'll be really miserable!!!

Stoma nurse was facebooking again last night with moral support and suggested I live on ginger biscuits dunked til soft in tea... Bleurgh... But apparently by far the easiest thing to digest. So I'll be off to the shop after dropping dd at nursery. Need to do something really, I'm already losing weight, overall have lost weight this third trimester so far!!! Shock

35 weeks today!

Let's try to get a bit more sleep...

TinyTear · 10/03/2015 06:51

Rusty, congratulations!!

Lauren82000 · 10/03/2015 07:12

Wow Rusty that's great! Doesn't matter how you get there as long as your both ok at the end. Hope your infection clears up and you can go home pretty quickly 5lbs seems do tiny but I'm sure it won't be long till the weight packs on. I know a baby that was 5lbs at 36 weeks and went home after the required 4 days post section.

Sorry to hear Tiger won't be home next week, hope her set back isn't too big Dances and she will bounce back soon.

Bad hips again this morning. Pillows just aren't helping Confused really should get up too but feeling pretty lazy and can't be bothered.

FiRaffe · 10/03/2015 07:12

Congratulations Rusty!

All these babies are making me impatient. We've had another NCT baby too (although it was the first one due) - she was due for a planned section for a breech baby today so little one put in an appearance on their own accord at 1am. Babies hey!

cinnamongreyhound · 10/03/2015 07:17

RL20, you basically buy some non fragranced oil and cover your thumbs, put them just inside your vagina at the bottom, you push down and out on the perineum to stretch it ready for birth. The bs shouldn't be in past the first knuckle, it's just the perineum you want to stretch, Google will show you I'm sure.

BananaToast, you'll be surprised how much you loose in the three weeks post birth particularly if you bf. If your big jeans fit then you know you have something to wear Grin. I found perineal massage uncomfortable and it made me feel a bit sick but don't know if that was me.

Congratulations Rustyzilla, so glad you managed without an epidural! Enjoy baby Harry Flowers

You sound a bit more positive this morning daholster, sorry dd was up so early!

Sounds like not many of us are getting a good nights sleep every night, although mine was pretty good last night no bad dreams thankfully!

I also felt I shoud clarify, after thinking about it, that dh wasn't drinking a whole milk feed from me or anything like that, no let down, just what happened to be lingering. Had images of you all thinking he was dressed in a nappy and giant babygro WinkBlushShock

BananaToast · 10/03/2015 07:27

Huge congratulations on baby Harry Rusty!

cinnamongreyhound · 10/03/2015 07:29

And BananaToast, that isn't a muffin top it's a baby!

skyra13 · 10/03/2015 07:51

Morning Ladies 3rd page already!! :)

Hiding - Suffering with boiler issues but ours is a new boiler and won't switch off! So we end up with heating on all time if I don't switch boiler of manually! Have to have it on of a night to fill water tank up and I have now switched all the radiators off as I'm to hot to cope!!

BananaToast - I have also tried some of my past jeans on a few weeks ago and got really pissed at my self for not being able to get into them, then I realised I was having a baby lol!

One time I was day dreaming in the shower and I got really confused when I looked down and I said to my self my god you have never been this fat where did this belly come from I have forgot I was 7 months pregnant Blush

MoominMama - I am glad BIL is getting us the monitor expesh as we ashed for an expensive one with a sensor matt being first time parents we are both a bit paranoid lol

R.E Palpitations I used to suffer with them before pregnancy I used to work nights doctor told me to cut down on caffeine and they stopped I was drinking to much coffee!!
I have suffered with them in Pregnancy And was told by midwife if its just now and again not to worry don't forget how much your heart is doing now how much more blood it is pumping around sometimes it can get confused with how fast it is working now and miss a beat but soon corrects it self that's what causes the flutters. Generally it's nothing to worry about but do get checked or ask midwife about it.

R.E Perineal massage I did plan on doing but I can not reach down there and did ask DH but he has been ill and don't fancy him messing down there being ill! I had a feel down there and it made me a little depressed did not feel like my bits anymore! Shock .

Rusty Big congrats to you and little harry how lovely :D Flowers Cake

I must admit I am sleeping well apart from DH snoring I am worried this is going to keep bump awake when she arrives!! So we may have to sleep in septate rooms! I may secretly be happy about this as the snoring is starting to really grate on me now I can hear DH through earplugs and I can't were them with a newborn next to me!

I plan on giving the house good clean today but not got much motivation But my best friend is coming tomorrow to stay for a few days so need to sort it out bed in babys room and things!! :)
2 days till bra shopping dreading it!!

BananaToast · 10/03/2015 08:07

skyra Grin at forgetting you were pregnant at all!

Been looking at pictures of postpartum bodies on Pinterest and there are some very inspiring before and afters on there - hopefully I will be able to muster up the effort to exercise when baby's here.

I'm hoping that I can get the energy to find some exercise I enjoy too Banana. Hopefully there will be some mum and baby classes or something, but I have a lot to lose!

skyra13 · 10/03/2015 08:17

BananaToast I plan on taking the pushchair out a lot I live in the country so shops are far away so plan on walking a bit more having the dog attached to! That will be my exercise may stop at the pub for an orange juice to! :)

skyra13 · 10/03/2015 08:27

Misty I have been out of work since November as my contract was a summer event contract they tried to extend it as much as possible for me, and I fall pregnant half way through the summer and had so many interviews with no luck so I have been pottering around the house for 4 months feeling useless!

Wouldn't mind if I knew some people were I lived to get me out but don't know many and the dog is sick of the sight of me :)

Wineandchoccy · 10/03/2015 08:30

Congratulations Rusty on baby Harry Flowers

I think I eventually got to sleep at about 3am, after loads of toilet trips and lots of gaviscon, I'm very tired this morning and wish I didn't have work.

BrixtonBunny · 10/03/2015 08:39

Congratulations Rusty! What a lovely name as well - I've never met a Harry that I didn't like. Hope you are able to get some rest now, make sure you're well looked after and enjoy getting to know Harry! Grin

smogsville · 10/03/2015 08:39

daholster it's not my business to tell you to stop work and just throw yourself on the mercy of your PIL. But that's what I would do. Sending a hug. Good luck with the ginger biscuits and tea prescription.

Banana - BFing will sort it. Not to sound like one of those god-awful actress-singer-model-dancer types that feature in the Daily Fail, but I was back in normal jeans within a month. And that was me eating and eating and eating - never been so hungry as when BFing. It just happened with no effort to restrict calorie intake - quite the opposite if anything.

I don't think I have carpal tunnel syndrome after all. Spot the hypochondriac!

Rusty! Congratulations and well done! Love Harry. Would be a contender for us only DH is so annoying about names and says no Angry

Kismac - sorry you've had to cancel your trip and for what they've said about your due date.

Babiecakes that's lovely about having another! I must say I defo couldn't cope with three so I take my hat off to you for even thinking it. I'll be sending DH for the snip after this one's safely here Wink

cinnamon - don't worry, I v much assumed it was just let-down. I wonder if it happened to my DH when we were DTDing after DD was born and he just never said? I was BFing for a year so thinking about it, it may well have done... Blush

Misty know what you mean re work. But now that Squatting's reminded me about don't tell the bride I am planning to watch that on iplayer from next week. Just keep reminding yourself that once baby comes you really won't have a minute to yourself so might as well make the most of it now. By the same token - are you doing any batch cooking? Am planning on starting in earnest this week. I have listed ingredients of all my fave recipes that freeze well from the Leon cookbook. Fortunately they tend to be v high in vegetables so good and healthy and also quite inexpensive. Will obviously be mitigated by the odd takeaway/ dash to waitrose for a pizza/ garlic bread/ filled pasta emergency meal.

skyra13 · 10/03/2015 08:47

I did a Check on my batch meals last night and we have 13 meals for the 2 of us!! will be 14 after I make lasagne tonight and freeze half! Got a feeling going to be eating alot of spag bol and lasagne and chicken soup! Just shows me and DH do not have a variety of meal as I always freeze left overs.
