Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had the first baby, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

Wonderful! Congratulations PenguinPoser! My boys took a while to want to eat, hope you get support as and when she's ready to drink. Dainty little girl compared to my two Smile

LadyNovember · 14/03/2015 22:23

Congratulations Penguin! X

daholster · 14/03/2015 22:34

Hooray penguin!!! Congratulations! You did it Grin What a little cutie pie!

Rest now. My dd didn't latch for a full 24hrs, we did hand expressed colostrum on a teaspoon at about 12 hrs old and then we got moved to TCU and the midwives cup fed her with expressed milk. She started to work it out between 24 and 48 hrs. She'd had a bit of a hard time with mec and was bubbly and also had a small tongue tie (which we didn't get snipped and she is fine... Turns out I have one too!). So what I'm saying is try not to worry, she'll get it in her own time.

So pleased for you, a little girl! Let us know a name when you have one and feel up to it. Hurrah! Sleep well! Flowers

FiRaffe · 14/03/2015 22:54

Congratulations Penguin - she is a real cutey. Glad she's here safely and hope you can get some rest. I'm sure the feeding will sort itself out one way or the other, it must be a shock for her coming into the world!

daholster · 14/03/2015 23:05

Have had a fairly productive day, there is so much stuff to try to remove from the baby's room, so much crap to get rid of too! There's a lot of paperwork that needs sorting... And we are only half way there! If that... So lots left to do, but still we made progress which is good. I have worked hard and I think he is dropping again. Amazing fanny daggers this evening and lots of Braxton Hicks this afternoon and evening. And I don't feel him right up under my ribs tonight which I am sooooo grateful form that gets so uncomfy! But more comfy this evening Smile

No ideas what I want to do for Mother's Day tomorrow... penguin I wonder if your dh will think of it? Guess we'd all let him off if he didn't Smile

Think I will go to bed... Night night all!

Siarie · 14/03/2015 23:11

Thid itching is driving me nuts.

Congratulations Penguin!

TheBooMonster · 15/03/2015 04:03

Congratulations again penguin!!

DH presented me with a box of maltesers that apparently DD picked for Mother's Day, he gave me a long, sweet story about how she took him straight to them and pointed them out, shame I know he bought them on the way home from work yesterday. It's a step up from Haribo though.

Am very awake. Had a strange dream about people living under a field of cows. Now can't get back to sleep and DH is gassing me with curry farts suspect today will be a long day as PiL are back again they have as much respect for Mother's Day as for Valentine's Day it seems to do DIY.

siari have you mentioned it to your midwife? Perhaps you should call triage and mention it?

Congratulations penguin Flowers

March is the new April! I'm not due until 28th April at this rate I'll be here all by myself nattering away in a Captain Jack Sparrow split personality kind of way. I wonder if I'll obsess over peanuts too? Grin

daholster · 15/03/2015 07:39

Lol gem! Dd and daddy went out secret shopping yesterday morning... I await the result with bated breath! I am currently in bed and dd and daddy are downstairs making me a cup of tea Grin Now D's needs to give me a few kicks to stop me worrying and then I'll be a very happy mummy!

PenguinPoser · 15/03/2015 08:05

Happy Mother's Day everyone! DH got me a card and I already have the best present ever Smile. I suspect we are going to be in hospital at least the majority of the day if not another night depending how her feeding is going. Will see how things go today. Had to be woken by midwife at 6am to try feeding again. Need another few hours sleep!

Aww enjoy your malteasers Boo. I would love a box of those right now. Waiting for some breakfast need it so I can take some ibuprofen... Sore.

Siarie you definitely need to mention itching to your midwife and if you don't have an appointment soon then phone triage and ask what to do.

Hope everyone has a lovely day with DCs bumps and all GrinFlowers

I got a very nice card that DD wrote herself, complete with people and kisses. Plus a box of chocolates. They just so happen to be DHs favourites and he ate most of them last year Hmm I'm going to have to hide them aren't i? Wink

Could do with getting up I'm peckish. I got my brew this morning but still in bed feeling a bit lazy. Not going to MILs till 11 when we get bacon toasties not sure I can wait that long for food

Lauren82000 · 15/03/2015 08:19

Grr stupid phone doubled posted.

FiRaffe · 15/03/2015 08:19

Aww Penguin your first Mother's day expecting and you actually have your little one there, that must be lovely.

I don't expect anything from DH.... I try dropping subtle hints about little one actually being here for father's day but not Mother's day but he doesn't tend to pick up on stuff like that!!! Ah well, I know he loves us both to the end of the earth so i'll let him off. Back to decorating today - hopefully hanging the wallpaper which is exciting. I need to buy the removable wall stickers though so it looks like a kids room (we need grown up paper as we're hoping to sell soon and it is a double room!)

FiRaffe · 15/03/2015 08:21

Cross posted Lauren. Mm bacon toasties, but i'm with you - couldn't wait until 11!

Hope all have a lovely day

daholster · 15/03/2015 09:05

I got a best mum ever mug! A bar of galaxy and a new (enormous!) make up box that i dont think will fit in my drawer... But will i think fit all make up, nail varnish and maybe jewellery too! And a card dd "wrote" and a lovely flower she has drawn! She's only 22 months I am sooooo impressed with the flower! V proud and happy mummy.

We are all still in bed with dd watching Milkshake on daddy's iPad and she is also currently playing me a piano tune on mine Smile Daddy is snoring!

We are off for late breakfast and/or cake at the garden centre and will get me some bath bombs from there too Smile Then we are going swimming (I love taking dd swimming she loves it so much and with daddy to help it will be much less stressful! Just worried it will be veeeeery busy). This afternoon daddy and dd will go to visit dh's mum and leave me for a bath with my galaxy and bath bombs... Then moussaka for tea!

What a lovely day is planned!

Wow penguin I'm so impressed with your dh!

Hope everyone has a really nice day Flowers

Siarie · 15/03/2015 09:06

Happy Mother's Day everyone. I have an appointment tomorrow so I will mention it, it's just really annoying! Never underestimate how annoying itching can be.

Although it's stopped right now but no doubt it will start again shortly.

daholster · 15/03/2015 09:09

Proud mummy alert!

Look at my flower on the left!!! Grin I'm going to keep it forever Smile

Wineandchoccy · 15/03/2015 09:34

Congratulations Penguin

Happy Mothers Day to all the mums and mums to be.

I've got tears in my eyes DH has got me a card from bump and he has wrote this message 'Thank you so much for looking after me and keeping me safe until I'm ready to enter the big wide world' waaaahhh I'm an emotional wreck now Blush

I had a good nights sleep as well last night which makes a change, we are sorting our bedroom today making room for the nursing chair and crib. I may get DH to sort the chair first then I can sit and supervise.

daholster · 15/03/2015 09:59

Omg. Tmi I know but... I need to share cos its freaking me out!!!

OK so we all know my bum isn't joined up but my rectum is still there to preserve the anatomy they need to try to rejoin me up in a couple of years' time. This bit of my butt therefore still has ulcers and stuff in from the colitis, bleeds and outputs ick. No poo of course cos its not attached to anything any more, all the rest of my colon is gone Grin

Aaaaaaanyway, sometimes the inflammation down there means it feels like I need a poo and I need to go (and usually bleed) then it feels better. When its worse, the straining to go is kind of involuntary, it's like I'm trying to turn my bum inside out and is very unpleasant. It gives me a band like pain around my low tummy and back when its happening and I can't stop it. I have to ride it out a few minutes keep straining and then it eventually settles. This I am used to (though don't like) as for years its been part of my symptoms.

Now however the last 2 days my butt had suddenly got worse and I feel pressure in my bum with odds and ends of pain, and I think its him moving down. But what is really freaking me out is that these episodes on the loo are so painful exactly like a contraction, and actually bring on a contraction Shock The pressure from it felt like a bit of a balloon in my vagina and I seriously wondered if my waters were going to burst! And the straining/pushing I have to do is pretty much involuntary (very like labour but much less satisfying!) It is still going on this morning when I have to rush to the loo but only non painful sparse BHs in between (though the vaginal pressure is less even on the loo since I slept, he feels higher again - best get walking!)

Don't get me wrong I don't think I'm in labour but I am worried it might trigger it, its very unnerving and pretty darn painful! More bum steroids I think! Hmm

35+5

Happy Mother's Day everyone!!

Impressed your Dh got you a card PenguinPoser!

Lovely wineandchoccy! I got one from 'baby (not josh)' saying I was the best mummy in the world which made me cry too! Totally don't feel like I've looked after him at all so that made me cry loads.

Had a lovely lay in until 9, run in the forest with my friend and dogs and came back to chocolates, daffodils, a parkrun t-shirt and lots of cards. 2 handmade at school by my boys and ds2 has done some amazing writing in his, so proud! Dh has made me 2 cups of tea and is going to cook breakfast Shock then off to my mums for a buffet lunch Confused and the sun is coming out!!!!!!

cinnamongreyhound · 15/03/2015 11:20

Sounds like a lovely day planned daholster, would have thought the pool will be quiet as lots of people will be visiting mums or out for lunch.

FiRaffe · 15/03/2015 13:08

You all seem to be having a lovely day and that card Wine has made me well up!

Hope all feels better soon daholster and it doesn't trigger labour!!!

Lauren82000 · 15/03/2015 14:19

Just a quick question I was having a proper look at my growth chart and this one is predicted to be 9lbs+ it just seems wrong that a second child would be a whole 2 and a bit pounds heavier I thought the average was 5oz?
